One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of December 1, 2008

Monday

Viki was shocked to see what appeared to be the Bon-Jour Café and innocently
asked Charlie if they'd gone back in time. Charlie explained that this is
the Buenos Dias Café, and he built it for her. Viki was overwhelmed and sat
Charlie right down at the seat he was sitting in when they first met. He told
her that the smile she gave him that day changed his life. Viki was tearful
as she realized she actually has a lot to be thankful for. Just then,
Charlie presented Viki with yet another surprise: Noelle and a turkey
tie-wearing Moe. Gigi was with them as well and credited Charlie with
arranging everything. Viki was so grateful and threw her arms around him.
When she later noticed Noelle's engagement ring, Noelle remarked that Viki
would be a fool to let a good man get away.

Dorian tried to give her girls lessons in fine cuisine and wasn't too nice
to Lola when she offered her own piece of advice. Langston and Addie asked
Dorian to play nice, reminding her that Lola never did anything to Dorian.
She agreed and requested Lola's help in the kitchen. When Dorian rolled out
a cart filled with all sorts of exotic fare, Jack was upset to find that
there was no turkey or anything traditional. Suddenly, there was a knock at
the door and it was the woman Dorian often sees channeling her dead husband.
"Mel" advised her to stop trying to make everything perfect and just order a
pizza and relax with her family. Dorian went back inside and expressed her
gratitude to everyone for being there with her. Markko announced
that the diner's back in business if anyone wants to go, and Dorian went to
call Carlotta herself about getting in for a sneak preview.

Vanessa apologized for causing trouble between Cristian and Sarah and
suggested she and Lola leave before she does any more harm. Sarah was
ranting about Cristian and Vanessa when she walked into her apartment to
find Antonio, Talia, Layla and Carlotta inside with a feast awaiting.
Antonio and Talia pulled her aside and asked if she's upset about Cristian,
who later arrived with Vanessa. Sarah got Talia to spill a big secret: Ray
claims he was framed by Vanessa for the murder of Lola's mother.

At the Buchanan thanksgiving, Shane asked a very fitting question, "Who's my
grandpa?" Roxy deferred answering and made some very strong drinks. Nora
urged Cole to stay for dinner and Clint offered an apology. Bo made a
beautiful toast and had kind words for everyone, but when Jared and Natalie
walked in, everyone's jaws dropped. Renee was surprisingly welcoming and let
them stay.

During a toast at the Vega dinner, Sarah was having a hard time hiding her
dislike of Vanessa. After a few glasses of white wine, she stood up and
called out Vanessa on being a fake. Antonio wasn't too thrilled to hear that
Talia divulged restricted information and suddenly everyone was arguing.
Carlotta told everyone to shut up and cease their fighting. She offered
Sarah a few supportive words and suggested everyone head over to the Buenos
Dias to see the new diner.

At the Buenos Dias, Charlie told Viki he's not giving up on them and asked
her to think about how they can start over. Michael and Marcie arrived for
the fete, followed by the Buchanan gang, the Vega posse and the Cramers.
Charlie and Viki happily looked around the diner at everyone enjoying
themselves.

Tuesday

Marty awoke from a dream in which she was making love to Todd, and told Nora
she'd had a nightmare. Marty was full of self-loathing as she raged about
her feelings for Todd. Nora said she knew what it was like to be with
someone who violated her trust. Marty sat down and listened as Nora recalled
marrying Daniel Colson, who went to great lengths to lie about his
sexuality. She pointed out that there's something to be said for payback and
that her ex-husband ended up in prison.

Todd was surprised to receive a visit from Starr, who asked flat out if he
was really planning to steal her baby. Todd expressed how sorry he is that
her baby died and that his heart breaks for her. He clearly didn't want to
answer her question. Starr demanded that he tell her the truth, climbing
onto his bed and yelling in his face. Finally, he confirmed the assertion,
explaining that all of his children had been taken away from him and he was
convinced Starr wanted to give the baby to Marcie out of spite for her
father. He even claimed that he always planned to bring the child back to
Starr when she was ready to raise her, but Starr didn't believe him. He
insisted that he changed his mind about the plan once he got to the
hospital, thanks to Marty and his love for her. As Starr listened to Todd go
on about how much Marty changed him, she couldn't listen any longer and ran
out.

When Roxy saw John at the Buenos Dias Café, she asked if he's made his
choice: Marty or Blair? John looked down at his menu and remained silent.
Roxy continued to press, so John stalked off. She followed him to a nearby
table but he told her to bug off. She explained that she only wants to see
him happy, with whoever it is that can do that makes him so. Before heading
off to a waiting customer, she suggested John take a job doing nails and
hair at her salon.

Blair asked Dorian if she'd seen Starr, who wasn't in her room. Dorian
explained that Starr went to school with Langston, but Blair didn't think
she was ready to get back to her normal life. Dorian brought the
conversation around to John and Blair, asking if Blair's willing to be with
a man who's so preoccupied with another woman.

Dr. Joplin was filling out a patient admissions form for Starr when the
medical examiner brought in the autopsy report. She looked through the
papers and was surprised by what she found. The tech asked how she could
have missed something. Neither noted what exactly she missed, but she kept
shaking her head and saying it was inexcusable for her to make such a
mistake. He mentioned that the fault is also with the NICU, who would have
been able to save the baby with a transfusion. Meanwhile, Marcie asked
Michael for a ride to the hospital, explaining that she wants to ask Dr.
Joplin why her baby died. Although he was reluctant to foster Marcie's
obsession with the dead baby, he agreed to drive her. Just as they were
heading out, Marcie received a call from Dr. Joplin requesting her presence
at the hospital. When she and Michael arrived, they were surprised to see
Dorian, Blair and Starr there, too. Meanwhile, Todd stared at himself in the
mirror and thought of all the things Starr — and Marty — had said to him.
Dr. Joplin called everyone into her office and announced that it's time she
came clean.

Wednesday

When Marty and Nora bumped into John at the Buenos Dias, Nora insisted he
sit with them to talk about the case against Todd. She wanted his help
putting Todd away, and asked that he testify when they finally take him to
court. Nora asked Marty if there was anyone other than the bodyguards and
Janet at Todd's house, and Marty revealed that Jessica had been there with
Bree. Nora knew that would upset Viki greatly and had no idea she was
confronting Todd at that very moment. Nora received a call summoning her to
the hospital to arrange Todd's transfer, so she swiftly headed out, leaving
Marty alone with John. Marty admitted to being on sensory overload at the
diner, revealing that the only time she'd left Todd's house was when Todd
took her for a drive to a remote meadow.

Todd had his second visitor of the day: Viki, who wanted to discuss how
Todd's actions hurt her daughters. He copped to making all the wrong
choices, but claimed that it was all out of love for Marty. Viki said
there's no way he's in love with Marty, reminding him that he raped her.
Todd said he didn't need another reminder, and ripped off his bandage,
revealing the scar forming on his cheek. Viki failed to feel sorry for him
and said she wasn't sure she could ever forgive him. "You are my father's
son," she spat before walking off.

As Natalie and Jared looked in at Chloe in the nursery, Natalie remarked how
close they came to losing everything. Meanwhile, Dr. Joplin expressed her
deep regret to Starr and her family for not properly treating the baby. She
admitted the baby died of RH disease, and Dorian jumped all over her for not
detecting this in a simple prenatal blood test. Blair and Starr were silent
as Dorian continued to berate Dr. Joplin for her carelessness and asked
again why there was no admission report for the NICU. The baby didn't even
make it to the NICU because she died on the way, Dr. Joplin lied, recalling
Todd's threats. The ob/gyn then began to cry, looked at Starr and told her
none of this was her fault. Dorian gave Dr. Joplin a nasty scowl before
following everyone out and slamming the door.

In a session with Dr. Levin, Jessica tried to understand why she created
Bess now and not before. Dr. Levin proposed that they can't be sure she
hasn't emerged to clean up a few of Jessica's messes before. He tried to
hypnotize Jessica, and a few moments later, Bess stood up and grabbed the
doctor's glasses. She explained that she only comes out when it's absolutely
necessary and that she craves order. She then insisted that Jessica belongs
at home with her family. Dr. Levin locked the door (smart!) and asked Bess
if she's hiding something. Again, Bess requested that Jessica be released
and assured the doctor that she's already taken care of everything.
Suddenly, Tess emerged and demanded to know what he's going to do about the
fact that Jessica was given the wrong baby.

When the guard in Todd's room turned away from him, Todd eyed the cop's gun.
Alone in her office, Dr. Joplin gazed at a photo of her son. Starr went to
the nursery with flowers for Jessica, and Viki informed her that Jessica is
now at St. Ann's and Chloe will be going home to Llanfair. Starr walked up
to the window and asked which baby is Jessica's. Viki pointed out Chloe, and
Starr remarked that she's perfect. Back at the Angel Square Hotel, Michael
suggested to Marcie that they plan a proper funeral for Hope. In the
hospital, a gunshot rang through the hallways.

Thursday

Blair was uncertain about going to the diner when she saw that Marty was
with John inside. Dorian urged Blair to "Cramer up" and go in and introduce
herself to Marty. Blair reluctantly put on a smile and approached the table.
"Hi, I'm Blair, Todd's ex-wife," she said, extending a hand. Marty looked to
John for some direction. Soon the women were exchanging stories about the
lies Todd told them while Marty was in his captivity, but when Blair
suggested she knows what it's like to be abused by Todd, Marty jumped all
over her, saying it's not like Todd ever raped Blair. Dorian stepped in and
pressed John about what's going on between him and Marty.

Dr. Levin asked Tess why she thinks Jessica has the wrong baby. Tess
explained that the baby she delivered looked just like Nash and she is not
the same one Jessica was handed at the hospital. Meanwhile, Starr marveled
at Jessica's baby in the nursery. She turned to Viki and said she knows why
Hope died. Elsewhere in the hospital, a gun shot was heard. Nora was outside
the room when it happened and rushed in to find Dr. Joplin slumped over her
desk, blood splattered all over her framed "Hippocratic Oath." She called
out for help and Todd's guard came running in. Todd looked around the empty
hallway, calling out, "Hello?" He ran back into his room and started to get
out of his hospital clothes. He put on his street clothes and snuck into the
hallway. Starr was telling Viki that she wishes her father had died instead
of her baby. Viki advised her not to say such things, and when Starr
suggested her father didn't really love her, Viki assured her that isn't the
case. Starr felt better when Viki put baby Chloe in her arms. Starr
instantly connected with the child.

After Shane told Rex he didn't want to be in a Christmas card with him, Gigi
asked Shane why he was being so mean to Rex. Shane explained that it doesn't
have to do with Rex, he just doesn't want to exclude Brody. Gigi came up
with an idea and they headed to the salon, where Roxy was giving Noelle a
frightful hairdo. She was worried that Moe wouldn't like her new style, but
Roxy assured her it would drive him wild. Meanwhile, Dorian brought a
tantalizing tart to Moe. They reminisced about his bouillabaisse and how it
saved her trip to Texas.

Tess ran out of Dr. Levin's office and right into Brody, who asked if she
needed help. She put her arms around him and whispered, "You've got to help
me find my baby." An orderly waited nearby to grab Jessica. Bess suddenly
took control and assured the doctor that Jessica has the right baby. Jessica
finally reemerged and went back into the office with her shrink. After the
session, she was embarrassed that Brody had witnessed one of her splits, but
he said she needn't worry.

Antonio arrived at the hospital crime scene and asked Nora why she was there
in the first place. She explained that she had planned to question Dr.
Joplin about the death of Starr's baby. They looked through the doctor's
appointment book and saw that the last one she had was with Starr, and then
saw the autopsy report on the desk. Just when Todd was about to make his
escape, he was discovered by Antonio, Nora and the guard. Nora guessed that
Dr. Joplin was Todd's accomplice. As the guard led Todd out in cuffs, and he
stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Viki with Starr and the baby. Starr
handed the baby back to Viki and ran off.

Moe arrived at the salon to pick up Noelle and said it looks like she combed
her head with an egg beater. She was worried that she didn't have time to
fix her hair before they catch their flight out of Llanview, but he said
they're not going anywhere.

Friday

Langston came home to find Addie comforting Lola, who revealed that the
government was deporting her. Meanwhile, Cristian and Vanessa were at the
police station discussing her impending deportation with Nora, who was
rather preoccupied with Todd's transfer. Cristian promised Vanessa he won't
let her leave the country. Nora told them there's really nothing she can do
to help. Addie seemed to know an awfully lot about immigration law and told
her family she'd done some online research for her mayoral candidacy.

At the diner, Marty accused Blair of using a veiled attempt to ask how
Marty's doing to find out whether she and John were picking up where they
left off. Blair has a right to know what's going on between him and Marty,
Dorian interjected. Blair was completely embarrassed as Dorian and Marty got
into it. Once they were gone, John asked Marty if she needed some time alone
and she nodded, tearing up as she turned away from him. Dorian and Blair
returned home and were still bickering about what happened at the diner when
they came face to face with Cole, who heard his mom's name. "What'd you do
to my mom?" he asked accusingly. Blair told him his mom is having a bit of a
rough time and sent him to the diner after her. Langston and Lola told
Dorian about Lola's predicament, and Dorian offered to help pay for her and
Vanessa's lawyers. Blair noted that if Dorian can do something nice like
help Lola, she can apologize for antagonizing Marty. Dorian barked that she
doesn't care about Marty; she just cares about Blair's well-being.

Nora escorted Todd to his prison cell and informed him he's going to jail
for the rest of his life. Todd insisted that Marty loves him and will never
testify against him. He sat alone in his cell thinking about the lies he'd
told Marty. Marty was thinking about him, too, and thought she saw Todd
standing in front of her when Cole tapped her hand. He asked if there was
anything he could do for her, and she suggested they go to her grave. John
arrived at the station and told Nora he wants Todd to know that his actions
have consequences. Nora allowed John to go down and see Todd. John messed
with Todd's head by lying that Marty killed herself and left Todd a note.
Todd was utterly destroyed and repeated, "I loved her, John. I loved her."
He handed Todd a note that said, "Now you know I felt," and walked off,
leaving Todd confused and sobbing.

Moe announced to Noelle that he was going to be a celebrity chef, but Noelle
didn't know who Dorian Lord, "the style maven herself" was. Roxy tried to
give Noelle a little background on Dorian, and Noelle was furious that Moe
wanted to work for a "convicted murderer." But Moe eventually won her over,
and she agreed to move to Llanview with him.

At the crypt, Cole presented Marty with a letter he'd written when he
thought she was dead. She read it alone and thought back to happier times
with Todd but found herself only becoming angrier. She vowed to hurt Todd
the same way he did to her. Meanwhile, John ran into Nora on his way out.
She asked if he felt better after seeing Todd but he said he only felt
worse. Todd awoke to find his former lawyer and wife, Téa Delgado, standing
at his cell door. "Well, Todd. It looks like a fine mess you got yourself
into," she smugly observed.
