Rex informed Dorian that he plans to marry Adriana no matter what she says. Dorian seemed impressed with Rex's tenacity and raised a glass to him being her potential son-in-law, but didn't give her blessing just yet. "First, I have a few questions for you," she announced, then subtly tried to talk Rex out of proposing by reminding him that he'd already had one failed marriage and had slept with Jen's mother, Lindsay. But Rex made a pretty convincing argument and Dorian realized that Rex had thought it all through. Dorian then asked if he'd thought about the ring and advised him to find a rock suitable for a Cramer woman. Dorian said it meant a lot to her that he asked for her consent and that Rex has her blessing. He gave her a really awkward, little hug before heading out. "I'm going to spend the rest of my life making Adriana happy," he swore before leaving.
Outside the Buchanan mansion, Natalie slapped Jared after he gave her an unwelcome kiss. Jared asked Natalie to listen to what he has to say, but Nash saw Jared manhandling Natalie and told her to get away. Nash made a veiled threat to Jared, but that wouldn't be Jared's final confrontation of the day. Later, Bo told Jared that he'll be checking out his story and warned Jared that he'll pay if he screws up anything for Renee and the Buchanans. "If I find out that you're not one of us, you're going to wish you were never born," Bo threatened.
Cristian arrived at the facility where Evangeline was staying and was horrified to hear from an attendant that she was "gone." Layla arrived to gather Evangeline's things and explained that her mother had obtained a court order and brought Evangeline back to Silver Spring, MD. Cristian told Layla that he'll always love Evangeline.
Meanwhile, Sarah and Adriana traded bad mom stories over shots at Capricorn. Adriana wondered if her mother would ever accept Rex, then guessed that something was bothering Sarah. Sarah admitted that she was miserable over Cristian and needed him to move on from Evangeline. Natalie and Jessica interrupted their gabfest with the news that Jared is a Buchanan. Sarah thought she was going to be sick, so Natalie suggested throwing some tequila on top of that queasy stomach. Nash, Jessica and Natalie sat down and Jessica wondered if Jared knew he was a Buchanan before he met Tess. Natalie couldn't even being to fathom that one. Sarah called Cristian and was upset when his phone went straight to voicemail. She buried her face in the bar as Natalie wondered where their tequila was.
At Langston's house, Starr berated Langston for letting Cole go off with the intent of telling the truth. Cole doesn't need people telling him what to do, said Langston, reminding Starr that it was Cole's decision to tell the truth. Somehow the argument suddenly became about Langston and Starr. "Everything that's going on is not fair!" Starr screamed before running upstairs. Starr soon returned from her "time out" and told Langston that she just didn't to see Cole screw up his life. Langston assured Starr that John would step forward and help keep Cole out of jail. Langston asked if Starr still hates her, and joked that she couldn't hate her "foster aunt." They giggled and ended up in a hug.
At the hospital, John tried to convince Cole to let him take the blame for shooting Miles, but Cole insisted on talking to Miles before agreeing to anything. Meanwhile, Roxy tried to entertain a recovering Miles with stories of her casino days. Miles interrupted and asked if there was a point to this whole story. Roxy began to explain that there was a purpose behind the story of her "lives and loves", just as Cole walked in and asked if he could speak with Miles. Roxy expressed her condolences to Cole and remarked that his mother had nice feet. "You can tell a lot about a person by their feet," she said. Once alone with Miles, Miles told Cole that he really did love his mom and never meant to hurt her. Cole said he shouldn't have shot Miles but Miles didn't want an apology. Cole explained John's offer to take the blame for Cole. Outside, Roxy asked John if he had a "congealed weapon" and told him to stay away from the man she loves, causing John to do a double take. Cole came outside and told John that even though it didn't feel right to hide the truth, he would let John take the blame for Miles's shooting. Meanwhile, Roxy tried to tell Miles how she feels about him but when she finally let out the words, he was already asleep.
A musical montage began as Jared took a drink and glanced at Asa's photo on the mantle, while Natalie drowned her sorrows at Capricorn and deleted Jared's contact info from her phone. Roxy gazed at a sleeping Miles in his hospital room; Cole returned to Starr a free man. Dorian cut Rex out of a photo of him and Adriana and put Dorian's face in his place, while Rex was at the jewelry store looking at engagement rings through the window. Adriana finished her shot and left the bar, just as John arrived. Cristian climbed into Evangeline's old hospital bed and curled up with her photo. John took shots at the bar and made a paper airplane with his bill, unintentionally sending it in Natalie's direction. She looked back at the bar and decided to join him. "Be my guest," he said as he poured her a shot. "You okay?" she asked, and of course, his reply was no. "Me neither," she said, putting an empty shot glass down next to his.
Tuesday
After presumably getting wasted the night before, John woke up naked next to Natalie. They got dressed and shared some coffee, then began to talk about what happened. Natalie recalled having a bad day, getting drunk and sleeping with her ex. "What a coincidence," he said, then remarked that they certainly didn't plan on this happening. They both thought back to the night before and recalled Natalie telling John that she had been making out with someone who turned out to be her uncle. In flashbacks, Natalie sidled up to the bar, John offered to listen to her problems and she explained about the letter from Asa. The thought of Natalie making out with her uncle forced John to take another shot. "I know that this is nothing compared to what happened to Marty," Natalie remarked, but John didn't want to talk about his problems. Flash to John and Natalie, both plastered, entering his apartment. Once inside, John stroked her face and kissed her. Their soft kiss turned into something way more passionate and they were soon in the bedroom. In the present, they agreed that what happened between them was comforting, but a one-time thing. Natalie asked if there was anything she could do to help her grieving ex, and he answered that she could watch herself around this Jared guy. He thanked her for being there for him, and she agreed that she would always be there for him. They sealed the deal with a hug.
Rex visited his pal Michael in jail and asked what the heck he thought he was doing skipping his court date. Michael told Rex that he's certain he was close to finding Marcie in Texas and explained that Marcie is his soul mate and he was sorry he never told her about Tommy. Michael asked Rex to go after Marcie as his P.I. and told him what few details he knew of Marcie's whereabouts. Michael was grateful when Rex agreed and remarked that this meant a lot, especially with Christmas around the corner. Rex was concerned about missing Christmas with Adriana and revealed that he planned to propose. When he heard Michael talking about the time he proposed to Marcie, Rex said he'd figure out a way to get to Texas, find Marcie and return in time to propose to Adriana on Christmas.
Meanwhile, Marcie wasn't doing the best job waiting tables at the Bonjour Caf, but Gigi and Noelle came to her defense in front of Moe. The cook wanted Noelle to work an extra shift, but she reminded him that the Dallas Bake-Off judges were coming by to evaluate their pies for the contest. Gigi explained to Marcie that Noelle had been the runner-up for two years in a row but now Moe was trying to outdo her. Gigi added that Marcie had better be careful and not say who is the better baker if they try to make her choose. Shane arrived and was immediately roped into tasting Moe and Noelle's pies. "I didn't like either of them," Shane boldly stated. "Sorry, I don't like pie. I like cake." Moe and Noelle went back to work, and Shane bonded with Marcie over pirate stories, which made Gigi happy.
Viki knocked on a door at the Bon Suites, and a drunk and disorderly Charlie answered. Viki asked if she could come in and talk. She asked what happened when he found his son. "He hates me! He sent me packing," said Charlie, explaining that Jared had a whole new life that involved "rich and snooty" people. Viki wondered if he could still be a part of Charlie's life, but Charlie explained that his son didn't believe Charlie was recovered and serious about making amends. Viki asked if this latest turn of events really meant that Charlie had to throw away all the progress he'd made toward recovery and suggested he contact his sponsor. "You don't know anything, Viki D!" he spat, but Viki refused to walk out on Charlie and challenged him to make a decision about his future.
At Asa's mansion, Jared was skeptical upon finding Nash and Jessica there to "welcome" him to the family. They invited him to a holiday party at the cottage and Nash reminded him to bring Bree a gift, pointing out that he is her "great uncle" now. Jared saw right through their charade and told them he hated egg nog and wanted nothing to do with their holiday shindig. When Jared left to answer the door, Nash told Jess it was time for stage two of their plan.
Adriana, Antonio and Cristian discussed Christmas plans at Capricorn and Adriana advised her long-faced brothers to "get happy or at least fake it." She said Carlotta had been asking if Talia and Sarah would be joining them for Christmas, and admitted that she'd spoken with Sarah about Cristian's inability to move on from comatose Evangeline. Cristian announced that he'd been to Evangeline's facility the day before and learned that Evangeline's mother moved her to Maryland. Adriana hinted to Cris and Antonio that if they do find themselves with girlfriends in the next week, they can buy some of her lingerie. "A lot can happen in a week," she winked.
As Marcie wrote a Christmas card to Michael saying she'd never forget him, Michael was thanking Rex for his help. At the caf, Marcie heard Noelle getting excited a big, fancy car in the parking lot, which prompted Marcie to rip up the card. Meanwhile, Michael told Rex to be sure to drop by the Bonjour Caf when he gets to Paris.
Wednesday
Talia was standing outside Bo's door when Antonio came by asking why she walked out on their conversation the day before. She admitted to being frustrated by his indecision when it comes to his feelings. Bo came out before things could get really awkward and explained to Talia and Antonio that crime is down by 22% in the last six months, thanks to their work to combat gambling and prostitution in Angel Square. Bo then noted that he'd be sad to see Talia go and realized Antonio hadn't heard about her request to work with someone else. Antonio wasn't too thrilled and Talia explained that she wanted out because she can't work with him. "We just don't have any chemistry," she lied to Bo. Bo didn't seem to understand her "double-talk," and Antonio said he believes they can iron things out. Bo agreed and asked her to give it more thought. Bo then mentioned that there was an opening in Cherry-vale and Talia asked him to give them a call. "You'll end up looking for stolen bikes and missing hikers!" argued Antonio, then followed her as she stormed out. She insisted that this is what she wants and it's a done deal.
Adriana called Rex her "lumberjack of love" when he showed up with a Christmas tree for their loft. Rex sadly informed her that he has to go to Texas to follow a lead on Marcie. She wanted to go with him so they wouldn't miss spending Christmas together, then accused him of avoiding Christmas with her mom by leaving town. Rex explained that he'd learned from Michael that Marcie was being blackmailed by someone and that Todd has a reward out for her. Rex said he didn't want Adriana to come with him in case of danger. Dorian walked in with a giant poinsettia just as they were arguing. She apologize for interrupting but pointed out that the door was open. Dorian handed Adriana an invite to her Cramer woman party and Adriana's nasty reaction indicated to Rex that they'd had a fight. Dorian tried to show for Adriana's sake that she approves of Rex by inviting him to Christmas Eve. Rex laughed and thanked her for the invite, but said he had to go to Paris and would be back for Christmas — just in time to give Adriana that special gift he and Dorian talked about. He walked her out and assured her that he'd be giving Adriana a ring she'd approve of. "No worries, Ma," he winked.
Dorian and Blair returned home to La Boulaie with tons of shopping bags. Dorian was excited about the all-girl Cramer holiday gathering, but Blair didn't share her enthusiasm. After a disgruntled P.I. ran out on Todd, Ramsey came by to make a deal with Manning. He said he could bring home Tommy but will need Todd's help. Ramsey said he would "flush Marcie out." Blair expressed her concern for Marcie but said Rex and Michael could rot in hell as far as she's concerned. Todd agreed that Ramsey's the man to get the job done.
At the Bonjour Café, Moe and Noelle were overly eager to please the visiting Bake-Off judge, as Gigi, Marcie and Shane looked on. Gigi lamented that Viki wasn't there to support her friends, just as Viki asked Charlie if he was going to give up the bottle. He picked up the bottle from the desk and began to walk away, so Viki headed for the door. She told him she wasn't going to stick around to watch him throw his life away. He asked her to watch him as he poured out the bottle. She commended him on reversing his latest setback. Charlie cleaned himself up and they headed over to the Bonjour for lunch.
Meanwhile, the contest rep explained the rules to Moe and Noelle. Marcie called Tommy's sitter and later told Gigi that it's so easy to worry about him when they're apart. Gigi understood but assured Marcie that Tommy would be just fine. Shane eagerly watched the pie tasting, as did Gigi and Marcie, who stumbled into the judge while he was tasting and made him choke. "Please don't die!" Noelle yelled to the judge, and Marcie gave him the Heimlich Maneuver. "Gross!" Shane remarked as the food came flying out of the guy's mouth. The judge announced that he wouldn't let anybody's pie from the Bonjour into the contest now. Moe gave the judge a parting gift — yes, a pie in the face. Suddenly, a food fight ensued as the patrons gawked and Charlie and Viki entered the diner. Viki didn't recognize a pie-covered Marcie, who ran into the kitchen. The judge stormed out and Noelle ran off crying. "I'm guessing pie is out of the question," a hungry Viki noted to Charlie.
Dorian went to St. Ann's to visit her sister, but Dr. Bonner wouldn't let her see Addie for fear of hindering her progress. Dorian asked if he would allow Addie to attend her Christmas party, and he said she would most definitely be there.
Thursday
Jack caught Todd impersonating Santa Claus in the living room and reminded his dad that he knows there's no Santa. Blair and Starr came downstairs and Starr asked why Todd was putting out their Christmas presents early. Todd revealed that he planned to search for Tommy again and that Ramsey was joining him, which did not thrill Starr. When the kids were out of the room, Blair cozied up to Santa and said she hadn't yet told him what she wants for Christmas. She had quite a demanding list: Todd finds his son, brings home so they can be a real family, and then she and Todd can have a real marriage. Starr returned before he could respond and was happy to see a present tagged: "For Cole, From Santa."
Rex called Adriana from outside the Bonjour and promised he'd be on the next flight back to her. Over at the Bon Suites, Marcie was washing the lemon meringue pie out of her wig. Gigi stopped by and Marcie informed her that she wasn't going back to the Bonjour. Marcie worried that Moe would never take her back at the café because she ruined his chances of competing in the Dallas Bake-Off. Instead of going back to work, Marcie gave Gigi a camera to pawn for her. Gigi wondered if Marcie was sad to be spending the holidays without Michael, prompting Marcie to ask if Gigi had a boyfriend. She answered that she hadn't had one since Shane's dad. "Well, he died, right?" Marcie asked, but Gigi didn't answer and changed the subject, asking Marcie and Tommy to join her for Christmas. Meanwhile, Rex was looking over the Bonjour menu as Noelle and Moe argued about the pie debacle. They both barked, "No!" when Rex asked if they'd answer a few questions, then took their arguing to the kitchen. After Noelle stormed out, Rex came in and offered Moe some relationship advice. Moe pointed out that he and Noelle are not boyfriend and girlfriend. Rex convinced Moe to listen to him for one second and take a look at a photo, handing him a picture of Marcie. Moe clearly recognized "Sally Ann" but was interrupted by Noelle and walked off without giving Rex an answer. Noelle announced that she quit and ran out. Moe asked Rex if he'd ever waited tables before, but Rex said he had to get back home to propose to his girlfriend.
After reading through the police report on Miles's shooting, Nora noted to Bo that it was full of inconsistencies. Cole walked in after Bo left and asked Nora if she was going to prosecute John, just as John and Michael showed up behind him. Nora explained that Ramsey identified Cole as the shooter even though John confessed. "Are you going to arrest John or not?" Cole nervously asked. Nora informed them that Miles wasn't pressing charges, so she would not be seeking an indictment. Nora then reminded Michael that if he goes looking for Marcie again, he's going straight back to jail. An officer then came to process Mike's release. Nora pulled out Marty's last will and testament and explained to Cole that it was Marty's wish that Nora take care of Cole. "Would that be okay with you?" she asked, and Cole agreed. Nora privately asked John to continue to be a part of Cole's life, and John told Cole that he can call John anytime for any reason. Cole thanked him, and John gave Cole a fatherly hug.
Bo and Matthew swung by St. Ann's to cheer up Lindsay and found that someone else was already on the case: R.J., whose basket of flowers outdid Bo's bouquet. But Matthew impressed Lindsay with his gift — a DVD set to music of photos that Lindsay had given Matthew. Once Bo and Lindsay were alone, he reminded her that she has a court date coming up in January.
Layla and Adriana exchanged gifts at Rex's loft, and Adriana showed Layla her Christmas present for Rex: an inscribed watch. Roxy came by looking for some hot lingerie to rouse Miles from his hospital bed. The girls were shocked to hear that Roxy had developed a crush on her community-service partner. Adriana didn't think Roxy should stun a recovering man with racy lingerie and handed her a pair of boxers instead.
Over at the Manning family Christmas, Todd gave Blair a framed photo of him and Blair at the fake wedding. "Felt real to me," he commented, which made Blair smile. Jack asked if he was bringing that baby brother home yet, and Todd announced that he'd no longer be calling him Tommy; he'd be naming him after his "friend," Sam. Before Todd took off, he gave Blair a big kiss. "What was that for?" she asked. "Mistletoe" he answered, but of course, there was no mistletoe.
Marcie insisted to Gigi that she must get out of town ASAP, and would need the money to do it, so she asked Gigi to pawn the one thing she has left: Her engagement ring from Michael. Marcie cried as she gave it to Gigi, but Gigi told her not to worry because the ring was buying Marcie her freedom. Meanwhile, Michael received his personal effects at the police station and put his wedding band back on his ring finger.
Adriana decorated her and Rex's tree. At the Bonjour, Rex began to dial her number, but turned around as he appeared to recognize Gigi's voice. "Morasco?" he called out, and Gigi turned around. "Balsom?" she said, wide-eyed.
Friday
Dorian asked Starr and Langston to go get dressed for her Cramer holiday bash and announced that her sister Addie would be joining them. Adriana arrived and she and Blair were both decked to the nines, but Dorian wasn't thrilled with Langston's outfit. She presented Langston with a gift and told her to go open it upstairs. Blair overheard Adriana say Rex was in Texas and asked what the hell he was doing there. Langston returned with a very smart outfit, which thrilled Dorian, but that didn't stop Adriana and Blair from arguing about Todd vs. Marcie. As they continued to bicker, Adriana mentioned that she knew Todd would be a bad father from "the beginning," prompting Blair to realize that Adriana had known about Tommy being Todd's son all along. Adriana admitted that when Rex found out, he wanted to tell Todd but she talked him out of it. Blair slapped her across the face, but Adriana gave Blair one right back. Some hair-pulling sent them right toward the Christmas tree, but their fight was interrupted when a decked-out and seemingly normal Addie announced her entrance and told Blair to get her mom a glass of champagne. Everyone's jaws dropped.
Nora brought Cole by the mansion and introduced him to Jared, who expressed his sympathy for Cole's loss. Nora welcomed Cole to their home, but he said it would never really be his home. Matthew arrived home and caught Nora up on his visit to St. Ann's. He explained that Lindsay was better now, which prompted Nora to call and ask her assistant to pull the Spencer Truman case file. Jared told Cole that he grew up without a father and that his mother died when he was young.
At Layla and Sarah's place, Sarah gave Layla and Vincent tickets to some undisclosed, but no doubt awesome, event. Vincent was super impressed with Sarah's connections. Sarah was pleased to see Cristian at her door, but disappointed to hear that he was there for Layla. He pulled Layla aside and said he wanted to see Evangeline, while Sarah listened to her noise-cancelling headphones. Layla and Vincent headed out for Maryland, but Cristian stayed behind to say good-bye to Sarah, so she gave him an early Christmas present: a compass. "I hope you find your way," she said.
At the cottage, Natalie blabbed to Jessica and Nash that Viki had some secret fling in Paris. Nash left the girls alone so they could chat, and Natalie revealed that she'd slept with John to ease her pain. Jessica was concerned that Natalie still had feelings for John and could get hurt, but Natalie insisted that she didn't make a huge mistake with John. Nash returned home with tons of gifts for Jessica, who privately admitted to Nash that she did not tell Natalie about their scam to "befriend" Jared. "Tess is back," Jessica playfully announced. Meanwhile, Natalie went to the mansion and ran into Jared. When he asked how she was doing, she answered, "I'm great. I slept with my ex last night."
At the café, Rex went to give Gigi a hug, but Gigi backed away. Their conversation revealed that they'd dated in Michigan while they were in high school, then he departed town abruptly. Rex explained that he'd gone to Pennsylvania in search of his sister and by the time he got a chance to finally call her, he figured it was too late and she'd already moved on. "It's not like you were that into me anyway, right?" he asked. She hesitated, but said what they had wasn't serious. She asked what he was doing in Paris and he explained that he's a P.I. now and showed her the photo of Marcie. She gave him the same story she gave Todd: Marcie stopped in, then headed for South America. Rex didn't buy her story, so Gigi made up another tale but her cracking knuckles gave her away. Rex told her to call him if she had anything more to share. Before leaving, he said it's a shame when a child grows up without a father, of course referring to Tommy. Gigi stopped him and said she had something to tell him.
Viki and Charlie returned to the drive-in for another date, and once again, their speakers weren't working. Charlie told Viki that he missed her while she was gone, and she admitted that she missed him, too. Viki explained that her children at home needed her and that's why she had to go away. Charlie told her not to feel guilty. Viki said she worries about Natalie the most because Viki had "big problems" that prevented her from raising her daughter. This sharing of information only brought her and Charlie closer, and he admitted that the speakers weren't really broken! Since they'd done so much talking, they got down to kissing.
