One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of December 31, 2007
Monday
After pouncing on Miles and giving him a New Year's kiss, Roxy explained that she wanted to reveal her feelings earlier but he was asleep. Miles remained speechless. "You feel the same way about me, don't you?" she asked. Roxy delivered a heartfelt speech about how she came to love him, and Miles said he cares about her a lot ... as a friend. She wanted her boxer shorts back and instructed him to take 'em off. He removed them under the covers and apologized for just wanting to be friends, but she took the boxers and stormed out. She returned shortly thereafter to throw them at him after realizing that you can't return used underwear.
At Capricorn, Layla and Vincent rang in the New Year together, and Kellen asked Cristian who he is and why he's kissing Sarah. “What's the deal here?” the rocker asked Sarah after Cris explained that he's the owner. Layla confessed to Vincent that she'd secretly hoped Cristian's voice would be able to have an effect on Evangeline. Meanwhile, Cristian explained to Sarah that seeing Evangeline made him realize he was ready to kiss 2007 good-bye and start off the year with Sarah. She still had doubts about the Evangeline situation but he assuaged her fears, so she told the band guy to get lost. Meanwhile, Vincent announced to Layla that his deal to reopen Lindsay's gallery was nearly complete.
Nora was startled and embarrassed to run into Clint while she was wearing a green facial mask. “You don't look like a woman who needs a mud mask,” he complimented her. Nora washed up and proceeded to share a heart-to-heart talk with Clint, who reviewed some of the lower points of his 2007. Nora toasted to platonic kisses being “so 2007,” but as they argued about what defines a platonic kiss, they seemed headed for another smooch.
At La Boulaie, Starr surprised Cole with a small New Year's celebration that involved charades with Markko and Langston. When Cole's turn came up, he said he wasn't into it. Markko's mom called and told him to get his butt home. Cole wanted to go home, too, but Starr stalled him with her grandma's cupcakes and ran to get some. Once alone with Langston, Cole apologized for being such a downer and asked how he's supposed to tell his girlfriend to leave him alone. When Starr returned, Langston broke it to her friend that Cole took off. “What am I doing wrong?” Starr wondered. Langston advised Starr to be patient and that Cole will let her know what he needs from her. Meanwhile, Cole returned home and interrupted Nora and Clint giggling in their pajamas. “I wish there was more I could do for him,” Nora lamented as Cole went to bed. Clint pointed out that it was past midnight and they'd missed a chance to celebrate. Nora rewound the clock and they blew some noisemakers. When the clock struck midnight, they hugged and Clint took the noisemaker out of Nora's mouth so that he could plant a big kiss on her. Meanwhile, Cole received a text message from Starr saying: “Happy New Year. Luv u, Starr."
Adriana wanted to pick a date for her and Rex's wedding. As she rambled on about wedding plans, Rex was distracted. He finally admitted that he felt like he needed to get back to Texas, especially now that they know the waitress who sold him the ring lied to him about Marcie. Rex confessed that the waitress he met was actually an old high school chum. Adriana asked how well they knew each other. “Dated and stuff,” he said. Adriana didn't like that Rex was thinking about returning to Texas to see an old flame, but he said it was because he thinks Gigi knows more than she said. “The engagement's off,” she announced, then explained that she realized she didn't know much about Rex's past. He said there'd been others, but no one he loved like he loves Adriana. “I would not have proposed if I wasn't ready to marry you,” he assured her. Adriana said she was ready, too, and they kissed, then made love on the sofa. Afterward, Rex noted that 2008 is going to be huge.
After Antonio and Talia broke from their kiss, Talia reminded him that she has to go. “Don't get on that bus,” he pleaded. Talia called Antonio out on kissing her just because she's leaving and it's safe, but Antonio said that wasn't the case. He explained that he realized he enjoyed having her pay attention to him because it was her doing it, not just anyone, and that her crush wasn't one-sided. He said he couldn't let her go without letting her know how he feels about her. But due to a mechanical failure, the bus to Cherryvale was canceled. Talia had run out of excuses not to stay. “What happens next?” she asked. Antonio kissed her again and asked if they could see what the future holds.
Tuesday
ONE LIFE TO LIVE was preempted. Happy New Year!
Wednesday
Addie and Blair were delighted to show off their matching tattoos to Dorian, who looked disgusted. Blair told Dorian to lighten up and told her they were fake. Addie accused her sister of not being fun anymore. Dorian showed them a photo of Lindsay on the cover of The Sun with the headline: "Looney or Lucid?" Meanwhile, R.J. and Bo ran into each other at the courthouse and discussed a way to help Lindsay, who was up for another hearing that day. Bo agreed to put their differences aside and present a united front where Lindsay is concerned. The men shook on it, just in time for Nora appear to witness it. Over at La Boulaie, Addie wanted to join the other Cramer women in defense of Lindsay, who she deemed a "makeover genius."
Moe asked Viki, who was back working at the Bon-Jour, where Charlie was. She explained that she declined going on an "impulsive" road trip with Charlie. Moe called her chicken, but Viki called him the same. He admitted that yes, he is chicken and that's why he's alone in the kitchen. Viki narrowly avoided spotting Marcie when she came by to give Moe the money she owed him.
Back in Llanview, Charlie arrived at the Buchanan mansion and had the door slammed in his face by Jared. Charlie refused to go anywhere and waltzed right into the living room. Jared told Charlie to get lost and accused him of trying to screw up his situation. "This is fraud, Jared!" Charlie screamed at him. Jared handed Charlie a bottle and told him to make himself feel good with some booze. Charlie reluctantly agreed to go along with Jared's scheme — if they could try to get to know each other again.
In Texas, John broke into Marcie's hotel room while Michael nervously waited outside. They found little inside, but a pink plastic bag in the trash with the Faces logo on it, which indicated to John that Marcie had been there. Marcie was close to leaving town when Gigi called and said she needed Marcie to come by. Meanwhile, Ramsey was sitting in a chair across from Gigi twirling a gun, while Todd stood behind him. Gigi lied that one of her lottery tickets finally paid off and she wanted to give Marcie the money, just as Todd threw down a wad of bills next to Gigi, who couldn't keep Marcie from hanging up. Ramsey threatened to keep her (and Shane's asthma medication) from her son if Gigi didn't deliver Marcie and Tommy. Gigi got all emotional and begged for them to leave her alone, but it was just her luck when Marcie called back. Gigi spun a story about Shane having a bad asthma attack and her car being broken down. Marcie couldn't ignore her motherly instincts and said she'd be right there. Viki returned from the kitchen and said she was sorry she never met Sally Ann, then discovered that Sally Ann had left her bag behind. Before Viki could look inside, Noelle returned with a blue ribbon for her pecan pie. She thanked Moe for encouraging her to enter the contest and gave him a big kiss on the mouth before heading out for an interview with the local paper.
At the courthouse, Bo was shocked to see Addie arrive and Lindsay was grateful, especially when Addie revealed her "Free Lindsay" T-shirt. Nora asked Dorian if this "little show of support" was to personally irk her since Viki's out of town, so Dorian asked Nora why she doesn't just tell Viki about her fling with her ex-husband, or his brother for that matter. Nora told Dorian to back the hell off. Everyone convened as the judge appeared and said she was ready to make a decision: Lindsay is of sound enough mind to stand trial.
Ramsey left Gigi alone with Todd while he went to retrieve Shane. Todd asked how his son was doing, and Gigi said Marcie was a great mother to him but lamented that all that was about to change. Ramsey returned with Shane, who was happy to be playing a video game courtesy of Todd. John and Michael realized that Marcie, and not the waitress Michael talked to before, must be "Sally Ann" and headed to the caf. There, they found Marcie's bag and Moe told them they had it all mixed up: Gigi isn't Sally Ann, the redhead is, just as Marcie made her way to Gigi's door.
Thursday
At the gym, Cristian found Antonio hitting the crap out of a boxing bag and asked what had him so worked up. Antonio explained that he convinced Talia to stay in town, but just for one more night. Cristian filled in Antonio on his lovely evening with Sarah, which ended with him walking her home. While lifting weights, Cristian gave a macho speech about being able to handle women with short fuses. Likewise, Antonio huffed and puffed his way through some arm exercises, but deflected his brother's questions about Talia.
Sarah walked into the diner and made a call about booking a big band for Valentine's Day. Talia arrived and informed Sarah that Antonio had met her at the bus station, but that she doesn't think they're headed anywhere. She did, however, beat him at bowling, and they spent the whole night arguing, but in a fun way. Sarah totally got what she was saying, and told her all about New Year's Eve with Cristian. The girls suddenly realized that Carlotta was listening and apologized for talking about her sons. Carlotta said she didn't mind and that she was used to girls throwing themselves at her sons all the time. Carlotta grilled Sarah about her intentions toward Cristian, and Sarah explained that she encouraged Cristian to figure things out with Evangeline before he decided to date her. Carlotta was impressed, then asked Talia to give Antonio another chance but warned that if she hurt him, she'd have to answer to Carlotta. Just then, Cristian and Antonio came in. Cris and Sarah got right down to canoodling, while Antonio cornered Talia and suggested another date.
At Lindsay's hearing, Addie got upset when the judge said Lindsay would stand trial for first-degree murder, but Nora seemed awfully pleased with this latest development. The judge continued, explaining that while it's clear that Lindsay has recovered, at the time of her murder she was legally insane and no reasonable jury would find otherwise. As a result, Lindsay was declared not guilty by reason of insanity. "She murdered Spencer Truman and now she's going to walk?!" a furious Nora cried out. "Not exactly," replied the judge, who suggested Lindsay recommended further treatment at St. Ann's. Addie stood up in Lindsay's defense and said that place would kill her. The judge didn't feel that Lindsay was ready to return to society, so her attorney suggested she be placed in the care of a responsible guardian. Addie liked that idea and wanted to volunteer, but Dorian argued against her sister taking on such a responsibility so soon after her own recovery. After hearing about all the new people entering Dorian's family, the judge's head was spinning, so she asked if there was anyone else who would step up. Much to Lindsay's delight and surprise, both Bo and R.J. volunteered, while Dorian, Blair and Addie giggled at Nora fuming. Meanwhile, Lindsay was extremely grateful for all the offers and for the judge's decision. Her interested parties could apply, announced the judge, but in the meantime, she'd have to go back to St. Ann's. Nora told R.J. and Bo that Lindsay was playing them before storming off.
At the Bon-Jour, Moe explained to Michael and John that Gigi and Marcie were good friends when John suspected that Gigi was blackmailing Marcie. Moe wouldn't say much more, but did regale them with the tale of Marcie saving the pie judge's life. "I taught her that! I'm a doctor," declared Mike. Moe didn't understand why Marcie would run away from her husband and didn't want to help him and John. Michael assumed that Marcie would return for her passport and wanted to wait at the cafaecute;, while John appealed to Moe's human side by giving him a little bit of Michael and Marcie's backstory. It worked, and Moe gave him Gigi's address.
Marcie arrived with Tommy in tow at Gigi's. Gigi was upset that Ramsey was still wielding a gun, and Todd didn't seem too thrilled either. "You want your son, don't you?" Ramsey said. Shane was frightened as Ramsey told him and Gigi to cooperate, so Gigi advised him to do what they did during the last hurricane. Ramsey was suspicious of her warning. A knock on the door signaled Marcie's arrival, but Gigi yelled out for Marcie to run. Marcie successfully blocked various entrances as Ramsey and Todd chased her. Gigi told Shane it was safe to come out of the bathroom and asked him if he was okay. Michael and John arrived, prompting Shane to ask, "Are you with the other guys, the guys that have a gun?" Uh-oh, said Michael's face, just as Ramsey and Todd appeared to have cornered Marcie. It turned out it was her wig they spotted on the edge of a Dumpster, but they soon came face-to-face with Marcie as she was getting into a car on the other side of a chain link fence. She and Todd locked eyes, and he pleaded with Marcie not to leave with Tommy. Marcie got in the driver's seat, so Todd tried to scale the fence, but when he saw Ramsey pointing a gun at Marcie, he jumped down to make him stop. Meanwhile, Michael and John made their way to the car — and the gun went off.
Friday
Jessica was sporting a sexy new look involving Farrah Fawcett hair and lots of lip-gloss, and as soon as Nash saw her, he knew what she was up to. Jared then arrived with the "brilliant proposal" that they sell the vineyard to Buchanan Enterprises. Nash reminded Jared that this is a family business — his family business — but Jared proposed they simply expand the family biz and with BE onboard, and they would have the capital to put vineyards all over the country. Nash argued that the winery should stay local. Jared reminded Jessica and Nash that this plan would make BE's stock price go up within the year, which was stipulated in Asa's will if anyone wanted to receive their inheritance. After Jared left, Nash warned Jessica not to do what she clearly planned to do.
Charlie visited Dorian at La Boulaie and noted that she'd recovered well from her injury. He said there isn't anywhere in town to stay, so Dorian asked about why he isn't staying with his friend, Jared. She recalled overhearing Jared calling Charlie "dad" and asked Charlie how they know each other. "Old friends," Charlie fibbed. "Well, now you have two friends in Llanview, one old and one new," she said, referring to herself. She said it's funny that Jared's last name is Banks, considering the newspaper article that revealed Jared is a Buchanan. Dorian explained that there was even a DNA test to prove it. Charlie was suddenly eager to go, but Dorian insisted he have a seat while she find him some proper accommodations in town. Meanwhile, he opened his folder and gazed at a photo of himself and Viki. When she returned, he stepped into the hallway to make a call, prompting Dorian to wonder what other secrets Charlie is keeping from her.
When Noelle and Viki returned from Noelle's photo shoot, Moe informed them that some men had come by asking about Sally Ann. In a strangely good mood, Moe proposed that he close up early and take Noelle to dinner to celebrate her Bake-Off victory. Noelle invited Viki, but she wanted the two of them to go alone. Moe went to get ready and looked happy as a clam to be taking Noelle out to dinner. As Viki was cleaning up the cafeacute;, she came across a photo of Sally Ann, Tommy and Gigi. "Oh, my God — Marcie!" she cried, realizing that she and Todd's son had been staying at the same hotel as Viki, and that Gigi was helping her. She called Charlie, who said he'd been thinking about her, and told him that everything was just a mess. "I just wanted to hear your voice before I do what I know I have to do. I'm about to destroy somebody's life," she lamented.
Across town, a shot rang out in the alley behind Gigi's apartment. Todd yelled at Ramsey for being so careless. Marcie quickly checked on Michael, then drove away form the scene. She tearfully assured Tommy that she'd never put them in danger like that and they'd be in a safe place in no time, then she suddenly realized that she didn't have the passports. Michael assured his brother that he'd be fine and let Todd and John leave him with Ramsey, who was more concerned about finding his gun. In the car, Todd called Blair just to tell her that he found Sam but didn't exactly have him yet. John mentioned that Marcie was probably at the cafeacute;, but Todd didn't buy it. As Michael was lying on the ground, he imagined Marcie returning and asking him to join her and Tommy on the run. "It's not easy," he told her, then woke up from the dream.
Dorian opened Charlie's folder and was shocked to find the photo of Viki in her waitress uniform standing next to Charlie. Meanwhile, Charlie was in the foyer talking to Viki and asked if she needed him to come back to Paris. She insisted he stay put and focus on his son. After they hung up, she looked through her phone's contacts and came upon Todd's number but stopped herself from calling. She wandered around and closed the blinds, saying aloud, "Oh, Marcie, I am so sorry," then picked up the phone just as Marcie walked in the door.
Jared returned to the cottage to pick up his business plan and and asked Jessica to consider his proposal and not stop the board from voting against it. "What makes you think I want to stop them?" she smirked. She then started jabbering about how she doesn't believe any of that corporate nonsense and that's because she wasn't Jessica. "Tess?" he asked. "In the flesh," she lied.
