One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of February 4, 2008

Monday

Jessica was adamant with Allison that she is nothing like her biological
father Mitch Laurence. Allison continued to hint that she has a big secret.

Adriana met Shane and Gigi. "I didn't know you had a child," she stuttered.
Adriana began to ask questions about his age, obviously doing to the math.
"Is Shane Rex's son," Adriana asked Gigi point black. Gigi said he wasn't but
didn't want Adriana to tell Rex about Shane. Adriana wondered if Gigi had a
problem with Rex's upcoming wedding. Gigi wished them the best and then let
Adriana leave.

Rex had questions for Bo about "my father. I woke up one morning and found
out my whole life was a lie," Rex said. Rex brought Bo up to speed on the "Wally isn't but Charlie is my dad" saga. Rex wondered how Matthew coped when
he found out that Bo, not Sam, was his father. Bo reminded Rex that whoever
Rex's father is wouldn't define who he is. Rex very much wanted to tell
Charlie that he was his son, but had promised Roxy not to. Bo couldn't
commit to being Rex's best man at that time saying that perhaps Rex would
want Charlie to be his best man. Rex didn't think that would happen "even if
he and I do hit it off. It won't be the same. He won't be the one who taught
me the difference between right and wrong," Rex explained. "What would Bo
do," was Rex's mantra. Rex asked him again, Bo said of course and Rex gave
him a hug. Rex returned home and reproposed to Adriana with a new ring.
Adriana sad yes again and they kissed.

Dorian told Jared she knew all about Charlie Banks "your father." Dorian
shut the door and told Jared that it was Jared's carelessness that tipped
her off. Charlie hadn't told her anything. Dorian demanded that Jared give
Charlie a second chance. Jared balked at the suggestion and accused her of
blackmail. Dorian reminded Jared that Charlie knew nothing of her visit.
Jared thought Dorian was falling for his father.

Charlie opened Dorian's door and found Viki waiting outside. The two
embraced. Viki was speechless to see him. Viki wondered why Charlie hadn't
returned any of her calls. Dorian walked in and paled when she saw Viki and
Charlie together. "Well, well, well if it isn't my old dear friend Dorian,"
Viki said tongue firmly planted in cheek. Then Jared entered. Can we spell
AWKWARD!? Dorian introduced him as Jared Buchanan. Viki blasted him for
having Jessica committed. Jared explained how a past relationship with Tess
resulted in two years in prison for him. Viki pondered that thought. Dorian
and Charlie feared that someone would slip up about who Jared really is.
Viki apologized for what Jessica had done but added that Jessica wasn't well
at the time. Jared said goodbye and left. Viki demanded to know why Dorian
was interacting with Jared. Dorian said she was doing an article on him for
Craze. Viki invited Charlie to come live with her. Charlie agreed. Viki said
she'd wait outside. Dorian explained that Jared had agreed to give Charlie a
second chance. Charlie was happy but completely understood why Viki was
short with Jared. "That's very understanding of you," Dorian said. Dorian
phoned Jared and said that she was sure Charlie wouldn't tell Viki who the
young man really is. Viki showed Charlie her bedroom and the two began to
kiss.

Todd and Ramsey joined forces to come up with their plan. Ramsey reminded
Todd that they'd both go to prison if Gigi told anyone that they held her
and her son at gunpoint. John dropped by and asked Todd if he was going to
help Gigi or go to prison. John wondered where Ramsey was. (He was hiding in
a corner and hearing every word of their conversation.) Todd thought that
Ramsey's problems were also Todd's problems. Todd was aware of how much John
hates Ramsey. John made a deal with Todd. If Todd were to help
Marcie, then John would forget Todd's involvement with Gigi's kidnapping.
However, Ramsey, that was another story. Todd couldn't promise John anything
yet. John left and Ramsey reappeared. Ramsey again suggested that they kill
Gigi and her son, then no one would say anything. Todd showed Ramsey the
door.

Tuesday

Adriana and Rex were haunted by Dorian and Charlie in their dreams, respectively. In the dreams, Dorian repeated her mantra that Rex is a loser, while Charlie said he didn't remember the night with Roxy and promptly rejected poor Rex. Once wide awake, Rex told Adriana that Charlie was his father, but he still didn't understand why Roxy was so secretive about him. Adriana asked what Rex would do if he learned he had a son. (Hi, Shane!) He promised that there would be no more surprises. Charlie dropped by. Adriana made herself scarce, leaving the men alone. "Rex, there's something we need to talk about," Charlie began. "Mom told you, that I'm your son?" Rex replied.

At Cherryvale, Talia watched as Antonio was questioned by the police. She thought the gods were against their relationship. Antonio was disappointed but then, as luck would have it, all the computers at the police station shorted.

Blair predicted that Adriana and Rex would be honeymooning in Statesville.
Dorian reviewed wedding plans with Blair and Addie. Blair called Adriana a "backstabbing daughter." Cole and Langston showed up knowing full well that Starr wasn't there. Dorian was on the verge of a meltdown, so Langston knew it wasn't a good time to ask her for money. Blair confronted the kids and demanded to know what was going on. Cole explained that they were planning a surprise party for Starr. Blair was delighted and promised to help them and keep their secret. Starr walked in and discussion of the party immediately stopped. Blair assured Starr that nothing was going on between Langston and Cole. Starr remained a skeptic.

Starr and Markko had a one-on-one discussing the behavior between Cole and Langston. He couldn't believe that Langston and Cole would hook up. Markko tried to reassure Starr that the Cole/Langston friendship only existed because they were both in grief counseling.

Nash told Jared that the war between Jared and Jessica ends today, when Jessica comes home from St. Ann's. Jared agreed to the truce when Nash said the squabbling was hurting Natalie. He even threw in one percent of the vineyard, which would make their partnership even. Nash looked suspicious but agreed to Jared's offer.

Natalie picked up Jessica and learned about Jess's conversations with Allison Perkins. Jessica was convinced that Allison knows something about their family and said that they would break Allison out of St. Ann's. Natalie refused to do so, despite Jessica's continuing attempts to convince her. Jessica showed Natalie the master key she had stolen from the orderly. "This is Allison's ticket out of here," Jessica said with a smile.

Dorian predicted that Charlie's relationship with Viki would end. Addie accused Dorian of being a Viki wannabe. She advised Dorian to let Viki have her happiness, "and maybe you would find your own."

Charlie brought Viki breakfast in bed. Viki admitted she was worried about Charlie's reaction to her life (that is, her money). "I was afraid it would make things awkward for us," she said. Charlie assured her it was "about who you are, not this house, the way you live." They sealed that with a kiss.
Charlie explained to Viki how he arrived in Llanview and added that his son was in town, but didn't offer any more details. Viki was eager to introduce Charlie to her daughter. She said she might be able to help Charlie with his son. Charlie said he didn't want to lose Viki and then promptly told her his son was Rex. Viki was surprised and thought it was odd that Rex hadn't mentioned this. Charlie had to do some quick thinking (or quick lying) and explained that he had the one son he knew about and then just learned he had another son, Rex. Charlie fibbed that the other son wasn't in Llanview. He was ashamed of his one night stand with Roxy. Charlie was surprised and delighted to learn that Rex was a private eye, and he headed out to find Rex. Dorian paid Viki a "girlfriend type" visit.

Wednesday

Dorian told Viki she knows a secret about Charlie. Viki wasn't interested, reminding her former rival that she was "happy." She made it clear to Dorian that she knew all about Charlie's son. (Of course, Dorian thought that meant Viki knew about Jared, while Viki was talking about Rex.) Once that was cleared up, Dorian thought it was amusing that she and Viki might be related some day, as Rex and Adriana were going to be married, and perhaps Viki and Charlie would be wed too. Just then, Charlie arrived. Dorian thought it was great that Charlie had told Viki about his son Rex. Charlie hugged Viki and looked queasy at the thought of the number of lies he'd told that day.

Earlier, Rex wondered how Charlie felt about having a grown son. Charlie didn't say much. Not wanting to let him feel bad, Rex immediately said he'd be fine without a father. Charlie explained that he had told Viki about Rex being his son. Charlie stumbled over his words as he dug himself deeper into a hole of lines. It was clear that Rex was eager to have Charlie be his father. Charlie apologized. Rex asked if Charlie didn't want to be his father, "Then why did you tell Viki you were?" After more awkward moments between Charlie and Rex, they agreed to get together soon.

Adriana told Layla that she thinks Rex has a son. Layla urged her friend to talk to Rex about it. Adriana came home and saw that Rex was so excited about having Charlie as his dad. She told him that she had just met Gigi and her son.

Bo and Lindsay met with Vincent at the diner, after agreeing that they both liked their current living arrangement. They started talking about the hearts that would be placed all over Llanview as part of the "Get It Off Your Chest" fund-raiser.

Todd assured Blair that Ramsey wouldn't be a problem in their lives. Knock, knock — Nora and John paid Todd a visit at Dorian's. Nora explained to Blair that Todd was thinking about going easy on Marcie. Blair thought that was wonderful. Todd reminded John that he hadn't made a final decision.

Ramsey, now living at Todd's penthouse, was seen aiming a rifle at a photo of Todd and his family. Markko arrived with a delivery from the diner and saw the rifle on Ramsey's couch. Todd arrived, was rude to Markko and caught up with Ramsey. Ramsey said Todd shouldn't worry, as he showed him the rifle and hinted that he could knock off a waitress in a second.

At Cherryvale, Talia tried to fix the coffee machine. Antonio tried to get a job switch so Talia could return to Llanview. Talia proceeded to break everything at Cherryvale and make the boss there want to hire back Fish.
Antonio called Bo for a favor — could Talia and Fish swap jobs? Bo said okay, but there was a catch. Antonio told Talia that the department has a strict "no dating between co-workers" policy.

Thursday

Lindsay was delighted at the response to the "Go Red" Charity Ball fund-raising drive. People were asked to buy hearts and place their deepest secrets inside. She wondered if writing a secret on a piece of paper could bring one peace. At the diner, Addie tried to explain to Roxy why she had become friends with Miles — it was because they had both spent much of their lives in institutions. Addie, Roxy and Lindsay thought about what kind of secret they might put in their hearts.

Jessica came home and exploded at Nash. "Can't we just be okay?" she begged as she fell into his arms. "The important thing is that it's over," he said. Jared and Natalie arrived at Nash and Jessica's doorstep, separately.
Jared apologized for committing Jessica and for the upset it caused the family. Natalie came over to pick up Jessica to "go see mom." Allison phoned Jessica. "Are you going to break me out of this place tonight or what?" she asked. Jessica pretended that she was talking to mom and assured her that they would be right over. The girls got ready to go but not before Jared apologized to Jess. Nash added that Jared agreed to sell him back one percent of the vineyard, making them 50/50 partners. Jessica was very grateful to Jared. She and Natalie left. Jared suggested he and Nash celebrate with a bottle of wine, and they drank to the vineyard. Jared was impressed with the quality of the wine, but sad that Natalie and Jessica couldn't stay. Natalie wondered how they'd spring Allison from St. Ann's. Moments later, Natalie and Jessica were seen dressed as nuns. A real nun interrupted them, but Allison did some quick thinking and explained that these nuns were actually novices that were being transferred.

Adriana told Rex about Gigi's son, Shane. Rex couldn't believe what he was hearing. He explained that Gigi never mentioned a son. Adriana pointed out all the reasons Rex could be Shane's father. She admitted she asked Gigi directly if Shane was Rex's and Gigi denied it. Adriana didn't believe her. Rex refused to believe the boy was his. "Let's move on," he demanded. Adriana didn't understand why Rex wasn't more interested in Shane and why he wasn't rushing over to Gigi's. Reluctantly, Rex headed over to see his ex-girlfriend.

Gigi and Shane got settled in at John's. She was tidying up while Shane played with plastic soldiers. John reassured her that there had been no sighting of Ramsey. He added that if Todd didn't ease up on Marcie, then Todd would be arrested for kidnapping. Markko delivered food to John's and let it slip that he'd just delivered some food to Todd Manning's. However, it wasn't just Todd who was there. John was pretty sure that Ramsey was staying at Todd's penthouse and hurried over there. He told Gigi to double lock the door.

At Todd's penthouse, Ramsey was showing off his new rifle to Todd. He told his startled host that Todd would be the one shooting Gigi and Shane. Ramsey was convinced Todd's luck with dodging (metaphorical) bullets would save him from prison for killing a mother and child. Todd was incredulous that Ramsey would want him to even try. "We're not going to do it," Todd declared. Ramsey upped the ante and alluded to shooting Todd's family instead. Todd was convinced that nothing would "happen to my family." "You just believe that," Ramsey replied in his devious manner. Todd threatened that if Ramsey came near "my wife and kids, I'll kill you." Todd left the penthouse, narrowly missing John as he got off the elevator. John entered the penthouse and Ramsey immediately clocked him over the head with the rifle. "Oops," he deadpanned as John hit the floor.

Friday

Allison joyfully waved goodbye to St. Ann's, thanks to the help of "Sisters" Jessica and Natalie. She reminded them they would have to explain how they would help her disappear before she'd tell them the Buchanan secret.
Natalie refused and threatened she'd turn around and take her back to St.
Ann's, doubting there was any big secret at all. Jessica didn't think only one night of freedom for Allison was fair. Allison promised not to mess with them again, "after I tell you what I know." Allison hoped Jessica could help her find a new identity. She wanted to go to Llanfair but Jessica and Natalie refused. "The proof of the secret is close to the house, close to your home and family," Allison teased. Allison, Jessica and Natalie arrived at the mausoleum.

Ramsey inadvertently knocked out John (he was hoping it was Todd). Rifle in hand, Ramsey stepped over John and left the penthouse. Ramsey appeared on the roof and saw he had a perfect view of Gigi talking to Rex. "The game's begun," he said. A frustrated Ramsey couldn't keep his gun on Shane, as the boy was enthusiastically playing John's slot machine. John came to and began looking at his Blackberry. He made a call to Gigi's cell phone (which she had left in the apartment, so she didn't pick up because she was on the roof). Shane didn't hear it either, as he was listening to his MP3 player. John tried the land line but Shane got to it too late. Ramsey aimed his rifle on Gigi, who was in full view on the roof. John arrived home to what appeared to be an empty apartment. He found Shane hiding in the closet. Shane told John that Gigi had "left with some guy."

A dumbfounded Rex walked into John's living room and saw Shane and Gigi. "Is he my son?" Rex whispered. Gigi didn't want to talk about it there. Rex suggested they go to the roof. He identified himself as an old friend of Shane's mom. Rex heard that Shane's dad was a Navy Seal. "Good story, Gigi. Is it true?" he asked. Gigi told Shane she and Rex were going to the roof to talk about "grown-up stuff." She assured Rex that she had nothing to worry about now that John was looking after them. (Meanwhile, John was unconscious at Todd's penthouse. Oh, well.) Now on the roof, Gigi and Rex began arguing. She came to Shane's defense. "He is my pride and joy and you would be damn lucky to be his father," she declared to a speechless Rex. Rex said he wouldn't be ashamed of being Shane's dad, but he kept asking about Shane's supposed father. "How did you meet a Navy Seal in Michigan?" he asked. Gigi told him their relationship in high school hadn't been just a fling to her, as it clearly had been to him. Rex was shocked at this admission. "I thought we were just playing around," he recalled. She hadn't let on that she cared about him because she was protecting herself from being hurt, "in case you did what you did." Rex had left town without telling her. Now he apologized; he hadn't had a clue. "I thought everything between us was about fun," he said. "You were my first," she admitted. Rex again asked for the truth about Shane's paternity. Rex put up his hand and saw the sniper's beam. He pulled Gigi out of the line of fire. At that moment, Todd made it to Ramsey's location.

Todd saw Blair comfort Jack after he had a bad dream. He remembered Ramsey's threat to hurt his family. Todd walked in and asked about the nightmare. "It was about you," Jack said. Jack found out that Todd had given him away to nuns when he was a baby. Blair was upset, but Todd decided to tell Jack, "that's the truth. I did do that." Todd told Jack the whole story. "It's one of the worst things I've done in my whole life. It's very difficult to forgive myself for it," Todd said humbly. Blair added that the good thing about it was that "Dad did bring you back." Jack then asked the big question: "But why did Dad give me away in the first place? Was something wrong with me?" "No," Todd assured his son as he began to explain the circumstances of everything. "I was a little messed up in the head those days," Todd laughed, but added there were no excuses he could make for his behavior. Blair assured Jack that Todd would never hurt one of his children.
Todd heard Ramsey's voice in his head and saw Gigi and Shane in Jack and Blair's place. Todd knew he had to stop Ramsey. He said he was going to the office, but really wasn't. Blair told Todd she was proud of him for telling Jack the truth.
