Markko declared to his father that if he must choose, he chooses Langston
and threatened to go upstairs and make love to her. The kids disappeared,
and Dorian awkwardly offered her guests a drink. Ernesto blamed Dorian for
what went wrong with his son but Shaun came to her defense. Shaun, Moe and
Charlie pulled Ernesto aside and suggested that he have a talk with his son,
man to man. In the living room, Dorian tried to explain to Aurelia that
Markko can make his own decisions. Viki backed Dorian up, drawing from her
own parenting experiences, and Noelle remarked what a decent, trustworthy
person Markko is.
Layla and Fish returned to an empty apartment after their date. They began
kissing but when things got more passionate Fish pulled back. He said he
liked her too much to try anything on the first date, but Layla made it
clear he didn't have to try very hard. Meanwhile, Cristian questioned Kyle
about his association with Fish. Kyle said Fish isn't necessarily who he
appears to me, and when Cristian assumed that meant Fish was a player with
10 girls on the side, Kyle laughed, "It's definitely not that. Kyle simply
warned Cris that it's not a good idea for Layla to get involved with someone
like Fish. Cristian headed home to find Layla and Fish making out on the
couch in the dark.
Stacy wandered around Rex's loft trying to figure out where to strategically
place a lacy thong. Roxy arrived and called Stacy desperate when she saw the
undies sitting out. Stacy gloated that she and Rex are lovers now, and Roxy
looked pretty pissed. She accused Stacy of sending that freaky nurse to see
her but Stacy didn't know what she was talking about. Roxy seethed to Stacy
that she'll never have a place in Rex's heart. Meanwhile, creepy Nurse
Charles talked to Rex's verbally unresponsive father while doing a crossword
puzzle. The patient squirmed under a white sheet as she assured him he'd
meet his family soon enough.
Gigi asked Rex to be straight with her about Stacy's claim but Shane's
arrival interrupted Rex from being able to answer. They explained to Shane
that they are back together and that Gigi never slept with Brody, but Shane
didn't believe her. Rex advised Shane to listen to his mother and announced
that Stacy refused to save Shane's life unless Gigi broke up with Rex. When
he heard it from Rex's mouth, Shane forgave his mom for not believing in him
and was delighted to hear that his parents still love each other. They further
explained that they'll have to pull the wool over Stacy's eyes to catch her
in the act of retrieving the proper stem cells. Shane was psyched and
couldn't wait to pretend to be on his deathbed.
While Layla was getting ready for bed, Cristian let Fish know that he'd
spoken with Kyle. Fish was quick to call Kyle a con artist and said he can't
be trusted. When Cristian reported that Kyle said Fish isn't what he appears
to be, Fish argued that had to do with people's perception of him as a
computer geek in college. Layla came out when she heard them still talking,
which quickly broke up the conversation. Fish bid her good-night and offered
her a handshake (red flag!), so she planted another hot kiss on him. Kyle,
meanwhile, was gazing at a photo of him and Fish from their Llanview U. days
when a frazzled Roxy accused him of sending Nurse Charles her way. "This
creep is torturing me all the way from the grave, and Stacy's still got all
the cards," Roxy sighed.
Stacy slipped into a sexy nightgown and pouted while waiting for Rex to come
home. Gigi and Rex explained to Shane that they need to all keep up the ruse
that Rex and Gigi are still apart. Rex reluctantly called Stacy to check in
and lied that Shane isn't feeling well, so he's staying the night. Gigi was
pleasantly surprised, but asked what it was Rex was going to say to her
earlier. He seemed like he was going to tell her the truth, but then ended up
lying that he never slept with Stacy.
Markko and Langston returned to the foyer and Ernesto announced that he was
ready to work things out. Markko was pleased ... until Ernesto announced
that he'll give Markko another chance if he comes home with them right now.
Markko stood his ground, so Ernesto walked out, with Aurelia trailing
behind.
Tuesday
Téa popped over for breakfast at La Boulaie to thank Todd for covering her medical expenses and interrupted his and Blair's happy family time. Jack asked if Téa wanted to join him for a swim, bathing suit or no bathing suit. After Blair managed to get rid of Téa, she warned Todd not to keep Téa's pop-ins to a limit.
Jessica and Brody woke up together to the sound of Gigi knocking on the door. She came over to debrief them on her and Rex's plan to trick Stacy, should they hear that Shane is sick. Meanwhile, Shane was thrilled to find his dad at the carriage house in the morning and they immediately began playing a game of touch football. When Stacy walked in, their cover of an unwell Shane was nearly blown, but Shane and Rex quickly spun a story about Shane's fever breaking. Stacy pulled out a digital thermometer to be sure. Shane nervously looked at Rex as she plunged the thing in his mouth. She insisted that they take him to the doctor after Shane ran upstairs to "throw up" (which he may have really been doing, since Stacy had just declared her and Rex a couple!).
After visiting Brody, Gigi dropped by Schuyler's and reported that Stacy was lying about sleeping with Rex. Schuyler looked concerned when Gigi claimed that she'd gotten confirmation from Rex himself. He later confided to Rachel that he knows Rex is lying to Gigi. Rachel asked Schuyler what he plans to do about it. Schuyler decided to keep his mouth shut and just offer his friendship.
While Jack and Todd were languishing by the pool, Blair waltzed in with a hot young lifeguard named Chad (played by ATWT’s Jon Prescott, ex-Mike) and announced that he’s Jack and Sam’s new swim instructor. She looked over and winked at Todd, then remarked on Chad’s physical prowess as he helped Sam float in the pool. Afterward, Blair helped Chad dry off as Todd watched with a bemused grin. She took it a step further by asking Chad to go someplace more private with her, then headed to the pool house and told Todd to run along.
After preparing Cole for his undercover mission, John paid Marty a visit and said he’d been thinking about lost time. Meanwhile, Jessica and Brody got the good news that he was accepted to the Llanview Police Academy.
While Shane was upstairs presumably "hurling," Stacy tried to put the proves on Rex, but he pulled away. She then noticed that there were no sheets or pillows on the couch, and when Rex said Shane had been running a fever all night, Stacy insisted on taking Shane to the hospital. Just as they were about to leave, Rex was relieved to see Gigi walk in ... with Michael!
Wednesday
While sunbathing/waiting for Blair to stop canoodling with the swim teacher, Todd realized his cell phone was in his pants — which were in the pool house! He reluctantly opened the door when Blair didn't answer his knocking and found Blair and Chad making out on the bed. Meanwhile, Téa ran into Cristian at the hospital and asked if he still blames her for the whole Vanessa situation. She was delighted to hear that Cristian had gotten over it and asked if he's doing okay. He explained that he'd had a weird conversation with Kyle Lewis about Fish that made him think, and that he was concerned about Fish breaking Layla's heart. When she suggested that Cris wants to be with Layla, he denied it and grilled Téa about her love life, quickly catching on that she's back with Todd.
Fish gave Layla a tour of the PD on her first day assisting John (isn't she a fashion designer?) and Layla was wondering where her boss was. Fish noted that something must have "come up," just as John and Marty were getting hot and heavy in her bedroom. Marty stopped their make-out session to point out that John is a married man, but he declared that he filed for divorce. Their kissing became more passionate, and when he asked if she was "sure," Marty gave him the go-ahead to make love. When things got heavier, however, Marty pulled back. She explained that she felt so damaged by Todd, for the second time in her life, that she doesn't think she can make love to John. He assured her that the person who chose to sleep with Todd months ago wasn't who she is now and that he's not going anywhere.
Cole was heading out to the PD when he came face-to-face with Jessica outside La Boulaie. Jess announced that she was there to explain herself for taking their baby and to make amends. The three of them sat down with the baby and Starr said she understands the pain that Jessica's now going through. Jessica apologized for putting them through losing their daughter and said she'd be sorry for the rest of her life but Cole and Starr harbored no ill will. Starr asked if Jessica wanted to hold Chloe, and Jessica pondered the offer, her eyes becoming wet.
Dr. McBain said that Shane's glands are a bit swollen and suggested they take him to the hospital to make sure he's all right. The plan worked swimmingly, and Stacy was on board for the hospital visit. When Gigi said they still have to convince her that Shane's dying, Shane smiled, "Piece of cake." At the hospital, Rex tried to put on a good show as Stacy fawned all over him and advised "Babe" to keep his chin up. He asked her to get him some coffee, but when she returned to get her purse, she overheard Rex telling Gigi he'll be so happy when he doesn't have to pretend anymore. Rex quickly lied that he can no longer hide his feelings for Stacy, and Gigi excused herself to speak with Michael. Gigi asked if any other donors have popped up on the registry but they hadn't. When she asked about Marcie, Michael was beaming as he spoke of his pregnant wife, who was loving Seattle. Meanwhile, Stacy hugged her "boyfriend" and said she was sorry he had to miss out on her special surprise the night before. Rex said he may have a few surprises for her in the future, too. Michael and Gigi returned and the doctor gravely announced that Shane's leukemia is back. Shane winked at him, while Stacy looked stunned.
Once Todd and Blair established that they have no feelings for each other, Todd challenged her to change out of her bathing suit in front of him. When she was standing there naked, he couldn't control himself for very long. He rushed up to her and they began kissing, just as Téa rounded the pool house calling out his name.
Thursday
Téa thought she heard Todd inside the pool house, so she opened the door — and found her boyfriend in the act of sleeping with his ex! Blair giggled at the sight of Téa's horrified face as Todd jumped off of her and put a towel over his privates. Téa grabbed what was presumably one of those privates and Todd buckled to the floor in pain. She was livid and refused to hear his attempt to explain himself, but he begged her for just five minutes to let him state his case. Blair wandered around pretended to tidy up while Todd tried to make her see that it was the "situation" that led him to sleep with her. Blair piped in that it was her flirtin' with Cabana Boy, but Téa wasn't having any of it. Blair poured salt on Téa's wounds by saying how hot that sex was and how much history was behind it. Téa laughed upon realizing that she'd been duped by Todd once again, but her tears were very real. As Todd tried to approach her, she pushed him out of the way and right into the pool, then angrily hobbled off on her cane.
Nora and Bo had a difficult argument with Matthew, who was dead set on having his surgery. When Bo asked if Matthew was saying he'd rather not live than live his life without being able to walk, he was shocked to hear Matthew say yes. Matt stormed out, and when Clint tried to weigh in, Bo jumped all over him and said he'd never be Matthew's father. Clint asked what Bo was really getting at and Nora intervened. Clint explained that he'd tried to bite his tongue long enough but wants to be a part of Matthew's care, as his blood relative and as his future stepfather. He then excused himself to go find a new best man (gulp).
At the hospital, Michael informed Rex and Gigi that Shane would need another stem-cell transplant, so Rex turned to their "angel" Stacy and asked her to donate again. When Michael said he'd have to harvest the cells right away, Stacy ran out of the room to vomit. Meanwhile, Rex congratulated Shane on a job well done and said he's gonna need an agent because he's a really good actor. Stacy returned, and Michael used some of his medical mumbo-jumbo to get her to acquiesce. Rex agreed to accompany Stacy and was sweet as pie as he offered anything she needs. Suddenly she was rummaging through a fur coat closet looking for her cold-stored blood. After nearly getting arrested by the guy who caught them at the country club, Rex walked in on Stacy as she was retrieving the bag of blood.
Destiny visited Greg and asked why Matthew wasn't having the surgery. Greg explained that Matthew's parents won't give consent and there's nothing he can do. Therefore, he's decided to leave town. Destiny was furious and returned the phone he'd given her as a gift. She went to the community center in tears to find Matthew having his own meltdown at the piano. Meanwhile, Greg looked wistfully at the phone as he packed his bags.
Friday
After witnessing Téa tear out of the La Boulaie grounds, Dorian found Blair in the pool house and asked what was going on. Blair revealed that she had just slept with Todd, which Dorian was not too pleased to hear. Dorian wondered if Blair did that just because she knew Téa was wandering around, but Blair chalked it up to pure luck. Dorian had a revelation: Blair doesn't want Todd, she just doesn't want anyone else to have him. Next time Blair has the urge to sleep with Todd, Dorian suggested, she should take a cold shower. After Dorian's scolding, Blair wandered over to the pool-house entrance and picked up her bikini bottom. When she heard footsteps across the pool, she turned around to see John approaching.
Todd tried tracking down Téa at his home, but Shaun gave him a message from her: Drop dead. Meanwhile, Téa was letting off some steam at the firing range. As it turned out, John was there fuming over Todd as well. Téa revealed that she'd just caught Todd cheating, so he tried giving her some pointers on her target (which conveniently had a photo of Todd taped to it). Meanwhile, Marty dropped in on Todd to chew him out for ruining her life. He apologized for what happened in college, but she was referring to last year, when he made her fall for him. Todd asked if Marty is still in love with him, which just made her laugh. She lamented being unable to be with the man she really wants to be with, John, because of Todd. In a twisted play for sympathy, he admitted that he'd ruined things with Téa by sleeping with Blair. Marty remarked that a shrink would have a field day with Todd, so he asked for her professional opinion. "You're a narcissist," she diagnosed.
Destiny expressed her anger over Greg to Matthew, saying even if he did operate on Matthew, he'd skip town right after he got paid. She recalled a time when Greg was an adoring, caring older brother, but then he became successful and ditched her family.
Rex caught Stacy red-handed in the fur coat closet and grabbed the bag of blood away from her, calling her a monster for deceiving Shane. Rex revealed that they'd all tricked Stacy to catch her in the act of stealing blood and asked how she could do such terrible things to her sister. "I did it out of love," Stacy argued. She claimed that she loves Rex more than anything and that they're meant to be together. She kept talking about the backpack that he picked up years ago and Rex was clearly frightened. When he told her as much, she ripped the bag out of his hands. He begged her not to walk away with the one thing that could save Shane's life, so she asked him to make love to her one more time.
Greg met with Rachel at the diner in an attempt to sway her toward supporting Matthew's surgery. After a firm talking-to from Rachel, Greg announced to Destiny and Shaun that he plans to stick around Llanview for a little while. As Matthew and Destiny were on their way out of the diner, they ran into Téa and Destiny got an idea. She handed Téa a dollar and informed her that Matthew would like to retain her as his lawyer. Meanwhile, Shaun was miffed when Rachel suggested that Greg join them for dinner.
