One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of July 7, 2008

Monday

Cristian grabbed a sword off the wall of the Mendorra palace. Antonio surmised that Jonas wanted them in Mendorra, but he couldn't figure out why Jonas wanted Talia. Antonio and Cris tried to escape from their room but were stopped by the guards.

Tina was reunited with Prince Cain. He asked about the jewels. Tina couldn't believe he was asking about jewelry while her daughter was missing. "It might be time to hang up our crowns," Tina said. Cain disagreed, saying he was enjoying this gig as a monarch. "We have an entire country at our disposal," he enthused. Tina regretted not going back to Cord. "Wouldn't you rather be a princess in Mendorra than a Buchanan in Llanview?" Cain asked. Tina suggested they give up the throne and then go to jail. "Since when did you become so maternal?" he frowned. One of the royal couturiers asked if it was time for the prince's bath. "I could use a bath," Tina noted. "You take a bath and I'll brainstorm," Cain suggested. Tina headed upstairs to the royal bathroom.

Talia was reunited with her father — Carlo Hesser. "Hello, Daddy," she said. Talia denied being anything like her father or her psycho sister Charlotte, for that matter. "I am so proud of being a Sahid now," she spat at her father. Carlo accused Tina and Viki of having murdered his son Johnny. Talia explained that Viki did kill Johnny to protect Tina. Talia added that she wanted to undo the damage Carlo had done over the course of his life. "I'm going to make sure you are going back into that cage where you belong," she vowed. Carlo revealed that Ramsey helped him get out of Statesville Prison. He announced that he had plans for Talia, Tina, Sarah and the "Vega boys."

Cole paid Todd a visit. Of course, Todd didn't want to hear what he had to say. "Starr is in trouble and you are the only one who can help her," Cole insisted.
"People have been lying to you. Starr's pregnant. She's having my baby," he blurted out. A stunned Todd couldn't believe what Cole was saying, denying that Starr would lie to him and keep that a secret. Todd began to strangle Cole. "Go ahead and do it," a defiant Cole barked at Todd. "Who else knows?" Todd asked. "Everybody named Cramer," he replied. Cole explained that Starr wants to give the baby up for adoption. "To the McBains," he added. "You don't want your grandchild raised by John's brother and the woman who kidnapped your son. She won't listen to me. You are the only one who can stop her." Todd told Cole to leave. "Are you going to do something?" he asked. Todd didn't answer. After the teen left, Todd sat in his house and pondered his next move.

Starr dropped in on the McBains. She wanted to talk to Marcie, but only Michael was home. "Is this about the baby?" Michael asked a stunned Starr.
Michael thought it was time they talk about it. Starr tried to convince him that she wanted to give them her baby because she wanted to make things right for them and for her child. It had nothing to do with getting back at Todd. Starr promised she wouldn't change her mind. Michael predicted that Todd would blow up when he finds out about the baby. Starr vowed that Todd would never find out. Michael didn't think Starr could keep her father in the dark forever. "You don't think anyone else would tell him?" Michael asked. "No one would be that suicidal," Starr replied. Starr pled her case and then ran into Marcie in the hallway. Starr worried that Dr.
McBain wasn't into the idea of adopting the baby. Starr asked Marcie if she had changed her mind, and was thrilled when she realized that Marcie was thinking about adopting the child. Marcie said she'd try to change Michael's mind.

Nora stopped Bo and Lindsay's wedding. "I'm doing this for Bo and our son Matthew," she insisted. Bo didn't want to listen to her, but Nora wouldn't back down and demanded that Bo read the paper she was holding. Bo didn't want to know about it. Marcie insisted that Nora back off. Rex tried to calm everyone down. Nora began to read the letter that RJ wrote to Lindsay. "It can't be," Lindsay gasped. "Why, because you thought you got rid of it?" Nora asked. Lindsay said she'd read it in front of everyone. Everyone listened intently, and everyone froze when she read the part about "faking a nervous breakdown." "I'm so sorry," Nora said to Bo. Lindsay admitted she knew what she was doing when she murdered Spencer Truman. "Nobody should lose a child. I lied to you, Bo. I lied because I was trying to protect myself," she confessed. Bo listened and then asked everyone to please leave, "everyone but you," he said to Lindsay. Bo wondered how she had managed to keep it all to herself. Lindsay tried to explain that she loves him and that's why she kept quiet. "I just wanted us to have a chance and I knew you couldn't live with this," Lindsay reasoned. "Can you live with what you did?" Bo asked. "Yes," Lindsay replied. "How are we supposed to work our way through this?" Bo asked as he exited the mansion. Nora found Lindsay sitting on the floor. "Are you happy now?" Lindsay asked through her tears. Nora shook her head.

Marcie and Lindsay left the mansion. "Why did you have to go and ruin Dad's wedding?" Matthew asked his mother. Nora tried to explain that Lindsay belonged in prison. "You did this to get to Dad," Matthew insisted as he left the foyer. Nora couldn't believe that no one else was as angry as she was. "I felt that Bo had a right to know," said Nora. Clint wasn't sympathetic either; he accused Nora of "doing it this way for you!"

Tuesday

Doggie David Vickers landed in Dorian's bed, much to her consternation. Addie took the dog when human (and shirtless) David came in and gave his bride a big hug in front of Dorian. David dropped his towel, which upset Dorian. He promised to stop bothering Dorian if she would pay him what she owes. Dorian threw some clothes at David. He reminded her that he was forced to go to Plan B because Dorian hadn't given him what he wanted. "You turned on me," he snarled at his ex. A screaming Dorian replied, "You owe me more than you owe her (Viki). Honor me, not Viki." "I'm sorry," David said. Dorian wondered what Viki would think of David's relationship with Addie. She asked her sister if this relationship with David was what she really wanted. "I don't want to see you hurt," Dorian said. Addie wondered why Mel was so angry with Dorian when Delphina channeled him. Dorian didn't want to talk about the past. Charlie charged into Dorian's bedroom. "I'll be asking the questions," he said.

Nora was there when the police arrived at Lindsay's to arrest her. "You are going to prison for the murder of Spencer Truman, and that is where you are going to spend the rest of your days," the attorney stated triumphantly. Lindsay couldn't believe what Nora was doing. The two women began to argue. Nora pointed out that had John not figured out what had happened all those many months ago, Marty would still be behind bars for a crime she didn't commit. Nora rattled off all of Lindsay's misdeeds. "You hate me because I was marrying Bo and you still want him," Lindsay spat. Nora denied it. "I've moved on," Nora declared. She added that "justice is finally going to be served. Officers, please read this woman her rights."

Rex dropped in on Bo, who was drowning his sorrows with bottle after bottle of bourbon. Bo opened the door and let him in. Rex tried to cheer him up by pointing out that at least they hadn't married yet. Cradling his bottle, Bo began talking about Lindsay. "She thought she could lie to me. What does that say about me? It says I got what I deserved." Rex grabbed the bottle out of Bo's hands. Bo and Rex both realized their investigating skills had failed them. "We didn't see things," Rex noted. "I didn't want Nora to be right," Bo admitted. Rex begged Bo to tell him what to do to help him get through this. Bo didn't have any answers for him. "Just go home," Bo said. Rex left with the bottle. Bo kept listening to Lindsay's voice messages. She begged for another chance.

Earlier, Roxy and Charlie tried to retrace his steps by going to the bar where he had been found in the alley. The bartender explained that the night Charlie was found, he hadn't been inside the bar. It was the night of Adriana's bachelorette party. Charlie tried to retrace his steps. "Maybe you were drinking with Dorian," Roxy said. Charlie didn't think that was possible, as he hates Dorian.

Jessica and Bree moved back into Viki's house. Viki was delighted. "What prompted this decision?" she asked. Viki offered to help Jessica with any financial problems. Jessica (really Tess) claimed that she had made up with Natalie and Jared. Viki was stunned to hear that and asked for details. "Natalie must be so relieved," Viki said, but added that real forgiveness "takes a long time." "We are not you and Charlie," Jessica snapped. Viki was surprised at her tone. "We have this twin thing," Jess covered. Viki took Bree down for breakfast, which allowed Jessica to let Tess out for a moment. "Flowered wallpaper. Kill me now," she said, rolling her eyes at the decor.

David paid Viki a visit. "Oh, Lord; should I sit?" she asked. "Maybe. I got married," he smiled.

Natalie and Jared tried to come up with a plan to get the Buchanans to accept them again. Jared reminded her that he had promised a dying Nash to make this right. They were surprised to see Gigi working at the diner. "I'd rather set my hair on fire than work for Dorian," she told them. Jared apologized for his part in losing Gigi her job at BE. Gigi asked about Jessica and offered her condolences. Natalie and Jared were shocked that Gigi was being nice to them. Tess watched them kiss through the window. Rex joined them in the diner and saw Gigi working there. Rex told her about Bo's ill-fated wedding. Rex wanted to talk to her about what happened at his wedding, when Gigi declared her love for him in the crowded church. "It's time for me to say how I feel," he began.

Jessica joined Natalie and Jared at the diner. She explained she had moved back in with Mom. Jess asked Natalie to move back to Llanfair, as well. "I want us to be together," she cooed. Natalie looked stunned but happy.

Wednesday

Rex admitted to Gigi there had been something between them ever since they saw each other again in Texas. "I have feelings for you Gigi; I've had them for a long time," he said. Rex added that he'd made that confession to Adriana as well. "You did?" Gigi asked. "You are not really into me," Gigi claimed. Rex got a call from Adriana. "I was thinking about you, too," Rex said. Rex agreed to look into tickets to Paris. "I'm out of here," Gigi said. "You are still in love with Adriana." Rex pulled Gigi into a big kiss.

Natalie was stunned when Jessica begged her to move back home. Nat didn't want to leave Jared, but then Jessica said the invitation was for both of them. Jared thought that was a nutty idea. Jessica claimed she could use their help with baby Bree. She insisted she couldn't live with all this hatred and blame. Jared asked for a moment alone with Natalie to discuss it. Natalie tried to convince him for the sake of the family. Soon, they agreed to move into Llanfair. Jessica was delighted while Tess muttered, "I have them right where I want them."

Viki was stunned when David told her he had married Addie. "Can you think of a better way to get back at Dorian?" he asked. Viki didn't want to know any of the details regarding why David had married Addie, and wondered if he was happy. "I take marriage seriously," Viki said, though she agreed seeing Dorian suffer made her happy. "And don't forget what she did to Charlie," David continued, causing Viki to ponder. "Dorian didn't make Charlie lie about Jared and Rex. He broke Rex's heart," a teary Viki said. David offered to make Viki feel better in bed. "That is not the answer to everything. You're married," Viki admonished. "Can't blame a guy for trying," David answered, adding he was sad to see Viki so sad. "I was really happy with him," she said of Charlie. "When you are happy, then I'm happy," David said. He was so glad when she gave him that lottery ticket. Viki started to cry and David gave her a big hug. Charlie walked in on it and asked for some time with Viki. She offered David her congratulations and he left. "You have something to say?" Viki said, turning to Charlie. "Yes, but all I can think of is how much I still love you," he replied. Charlie began to tell Viki about Dorian.

Earlier, Charlie confronted Dorian. "What do you know about me turning up half dead from alcoholic poisoning?" he demanded. Charlie insisted that he hadn't had an urge to drink and he would have called his sponsor instead of drinking. He remembered having a conversation with Dorian in the hospital. "Why is it that this conversation is the last one I remember?" he asked. "You were very upset," Dorian hedged. Charlie wondered how Dorian knew he had a bottle of vodka and was found in the alley by Rodi's. "How did you know that?" he asked, standing very close to La Cramer. Charlie began to put the pieces together and remembered that Dorian was a doctor. He pointed out that if he had told the truth (about Jared and Rex) before Dorian could, then her big takeover would have been for naught. Charlie added that she had a very good reason to have him out of the picture. He vowed to find out what she was hiding. "Please leave," she said, showing Charlie the door. Charlie recognized, or began to, the bedspread on her bed.

"John, I messed up bad. I told Starr's dad that she was pregnant," Cole told John. John couldn't believe what he was hearing. Cole tried to explain his moves. "You thought that??" John said in disbelief. Cole repeated that Starr has offered their baby to Michael and Marcie. John just shook his head. He connected seeing Marcie with her lawyer at the diner to the whole Starr affair. "What do you think Starr's dad is going to do?" Cole asked. John wished Cole had turned to him before going to Todd. "You lead with your heart, not your head. You probably got that from your mom," John sighed.

Marcie wanted to discuss Starr's visit with Michael. He said he let Starr talk and "that it was impossible to consider what she's thinking." Marcie admitted that she had given Starr some hope. She tried to explain that adopting Starr's baby would be problematic, but not impossible, and Starr thinks Marcie would still be a good mother. Of course, they would need to be legally protected. "I know exactly how this would play out," Michael said, predicting that Starr would change her mind. Michael didn't want her to have Marcie's heart shredded again. Marcie declared that she wasn't afraid of Todd...and then opened to the door to find him standing there.

Blair and Starr hung out at the pool. Starr told her mom that Cole hates the fact that she insists on giving up the baby. Todd arrived, forcing that conversation to a dead halt. "When were you going to tell me you were pregnant, Starr?" he asked. Todd began yelling at her. "Gee, I wondered why I lied to you. I learned from the best," a sarcastic Starr replied. She explained why she made love with Cole. Starr stood up to her father and accused him of not caring about her at all. She rattled off all of Todd's not-so-great parenting skills. "You want to get even. That's all you ever think about," she scoffed. Todd claimed that things would have been different if he had known the truth. "How could you ever consider giving your child to Marcie McBain?" Todd said. Starr was stone silent. "Is this true?"
Blair asked. "I see I'm not the only one late to the party," Todd quipped.
Starr explained her reasoning. Blair wanted to table that conversation, but Starr continued. "I believe that this is right. Mrs. McBain having a child that she can keep, that's the right thing," Starr insisted. Todd then let it slip that Cole told him about the baby. "You're lying," Starr yelled. "You'll give your child to Marcie McBain over my dead body," Todd vowed as he left the pool area. Blair assured her daughter that she would be there for her, but reminded her that this decision to give the baby to the McBains would affect a lot more people than just Todd. John left a message for Blair wanting to make sure that she and Starr were okay. Starr still couldn't believe that Cole would tell Todd about her pregnancy. Cole showed up at the pool.

Thursday

Rex and Gigi broke from their passionate kiss and immediately began talking about it. "I feel better than I have in a long time," Rex admitted, and they kissed again. "What does this mean?" Gigi asked. "It means what you think it means," Rex responded. Rex said that kissing her felt like the Fourth of July. Brody immediately sensed that he and Shane had walked in on something between Rex and Gigi. Brody asked Rex what he was doing and reminded him that he was wearing a wedding ring. "Gigi is a hell of a lot more than just a friend to me. She's the mother of my son," Brody stated. Rex backed off and watched the happy "family" as they watched the fireworks.

Charlie explained he was in Viki's bedroom to discuss Dorian. Viki thought it unlikely that Dorian "made" Charlie drink. Charlie didn't know how Dorian managed to do that, but he was going to find out. Viki reminded him that Dorian didn't force Charlie to lie to her, or to Rex, or to be a part of the downfall of Buchanan Enterprises. Viki started to cry. "I miss you so much," she sobbed. "Viki, I love you," he said. "I love you too," she cried. The two started to kiss.
Viki pulled away and begged him to stay away. "I'm sorry; I may not be able to keep that promise," Charlie said. He noted that he fell in love with her the minute she came up to his table at the diner. "I'm going to spend the rest of my life trying to prove myself to you or die trying," Charlie vowed as he left. Viki broke down in tears.

Charlie and Rex, both heartsick, ran into each other at the fireworks, but avoided making contact.

Starr couldn't believe Cole blabbed to Todd about her pregnancy. "You made a very big mistake, Cole," Blair said. "I just needed a way to keep my kid,"
Cole explained. Blair blew up. "You drove an even bigger wedge between yourself and Starr," she screamed. Starr teared up as her mother and boyfriend fought. Blair insisted that Cole leave. "You turned Todd loose on us," Blair whispered to him. "If you do anything to hurt my daughter, you are history," she promised as she left the teens alone to talk. Cole tried to apologize and begged Starr to understand. "You took my father's side against me," Starr reminded him. Starr pointed out that Cole had joined forces with the man who nearly destroyed his mother's life. "She's turning in her grave right now," Starr predicted. "I don't want you to get hurt," Cole claimed. "You don't care about me. You just care about winning — just like my father," Starr sneered. Starr pushed him away. Cole exited, leaving Starr to weep by the pool at the fireworks exploded overhead.

Marty started doing some arm exercises. She wanted to know everything Janet knew about Todd. "He's strange and cranky and generous and wants you to get well," Janet said. Marty only knew that she and Todd had gone to college together. She didn't know why Todd wouldn't help her remember their college days or much else. "He's worried that John McBain will hurt me again, he broke up Todd's marriage," she reasoned. "I do know a few things about John McBain," Janet said. She explained that John was in the commissioner's apartment when he was murdered. Marty said she keeps having a feeling that there is someone out there who needs her, but couldn't remember who that might be. Then she had a brainstorm — she could Google herself. Janet didn't think it was a good idea and Todd didn't think there was any point to it. "You are not famous," he informed her. Todd claimed that he didn't have Internet access anyway, and complained about his lousy day. Marty reminded him that it was the Fourth of July and they should try to catch some fireworks. Marty sat in her bed and Todd sat beside her as they watched the sky light up.

Earlier. Todd had it out with the McBains. "You are not going to take my grandchild away from me, so don't even think about it," he told Michael and Marcie. A defiant Marcie matched Todd barb for barb. "Starr offered us her baby because we were good parents to her brother," Marcie stated. No matter — Todd vowed that the McBains wouldn't be adopting his grandchild. Marcie warned that Starr would never speak to him again. Michael pushed Todd out of the apartment. A fight almost began between the two men, but John arrived on the scene and pulled them apart. "McPain again," Todd snarked. Then Blair showed up and began arguing with her ex-husband. Blair vowed to help Michael and Marcie if that is what Starr wanted. Todd stormed off. "Would you really help us?" Marcie asked.
Blair nodded yes, but hoped it wouldn't come to that. Marcie shared her hopes for another baby with Michael. "I want Starr's baby and I know you do too,"
Marcie said. Michael asked if Marcie was willing to choose "Starr's baby over our marriage." Marcie told her husband she loves him but wants the baby too. "I can't watch you have your heart broken again, and I won't," Michael sighed. He packed his bags and left. Marcie broke down in tears.

John applauded Blair's offer to help Marcie get the baby. Blair admitted that she was wrong to have stayed with Todd as long as she did, predicting that he would make "this an all-out war." Blair and John watched the fireworks together.

Friday

Tess had a wonderful dream where she shot Natalie and Jared in their bed.
Nash appeared to Tess and she vowed to make Natalie and Jared pay for his death. Tess also promised to take care of their children. Viki interrupted the daydreams by entering the room. Tess confirmed that she'd invited Natalie and Jared to move into Llanfair. "Darling, you are so not yourself," Viki said. "That's true," "Jess" hedged. "But Bree loves Natalie." "I am so proud of you," Viki beamed, giving her daughter a big hug. The moment Viki left, Tess returned to her plotting against Jared and Natalie.

Clint and Viki had coffee. Viki had heard all about the Bo and Lindsay wedding disaster. Natalie and Jared showed up, ready to move in. Clint and Viki couldn't believe that Jessica had invited them. Clint didn't want them — especially Jared — "in this house." Natalie reported that Jessica insisted they come. Clint regretted that he let Natalie blackmail him. "I should have let your boyfriend rot in jail," Clint stewed. Viki was going to clarify this story with Jessica. Clint, still clearly angry at his daughter, said he couldn't bury the hatchet yet but he still loved Natalie. Jared vowed he would try to regain Clint's respect. Clint and Bo said they hadn't decided when they would tell David he was their brother. Viki told them that David married Addie. Viki explained that Addie was completely well, and marrying her was a way David could stick it to Dorian. Clint wondered if there might be a way to use the David/Addie marriage to get back at Dorian some more.

Rex showed up in the courtroom and called Nora on going after Lindsay. Nora confirmed that Lindsay was going to trial. "If I don't get a conviction, I really shouldn't have this job," she said. Rex said he was sad that Lindsay was arrested but agreed that being lied to is a lousy thing. (Hello, Adriana!) David, Addie and doggie David Vickers arrived wearing "Free Lindsay" T-shirts. "You are aware that Spencer was my brother," David reminded his bride. Lindsay arrived in the courtroom. She thanked Rex for being there. "You are my friend, no matter what," he said. Nora told the judge that Lindsay was in full control of her facilities at the time of Spencer's murder. Lindsay's lawyer claimed that this was double jeopardy. Nora explained that it was not. Lindsay plead "Guilty," which stunned the courtroom. Addie jumped up and said Lindsay had to go back to St. Ann's. Lindsay admitted she knew what she was doing when she killed Spencer Truman. Lindsay was held without bail. Court was adjourned. "You sure about this?" Rex asked. "Take care of Bo for me," Lindsay replied. Nora asked Rex to check up on Bo, as well. Rex said he was heading over there. When Rex arrived at Bo's apartment, he saw men packing boxes and no sign of his friend.

In Mendorra, Cristian was rolling on the floor in pain. Antonio called a guard. Cristian was faking and knocked out the guard. The two men went to find Sarah and Antonio. The guards stopped them, but Tina and Cain showed up to override the guards' plans. Cain said he was a prince. Antonio laughed and began rattling off Cain's disguises. "Your Highness, what is the meaning of this?" one of the royal aides said. "These men are delusional," he declared.
"I will see to our guests," Cain/the prince continued. Antonio and Cristian demanded the whole story NOW. Cain dropped the fake accent and explained that the jewels help them control the monetary exchange in Mendorra. "What if the world found out that Mendorra was being governed by two-bit crooks?" Antonio asked. Jonas brought Sarah into the room. Antonio grabbed Jonas and demanded that he tell him where Talia was. Sarah told a stunned Cristian that Carlo was in charge.

With the help of the wire from her underwire bra, Talia picked the lock and she and Sarah escaped from the prison. Not so fast, said Jonas and Carlo.
Carlo announced that Sarah would soon be going on a little trip. The guard took Sarah to see Cristian, or so Carlo said. Talia demanded to know what Carlo had done with Antonio. "You have appalling taste in men," Carlo told his daughter. He vowed to find a suitable man for Talia. Antonio came to the cell. "What the hell is this?" Antonio asked. "We're having a family reunion," Carlo quipped. "You're practically family." Antonio looked very puzzled and grabbed Carlo, causing Talia to scream, "He's my father."
