One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of June 9, 2008
Monday
Rex told Adriana there wasn't going to be a honeymoon. "Our marriage was a mistake. I want out," he told his wide-eyed bride. Rex added that he didn't make this decision because of Gigi but because "of you. You don't trust me." Adriana begged for another chance. "We can be happy the way we used to be," she said. Rex didn't think he could be happy with her anymore. He admitted he had made mistakes too. He should have addressed his doubts about marriage before they got married, and that's why he got wasted at his bachelor party. Rex added that he couldn't live up to his vows. "Our marriage started out all wrong," he said as they both started to cry. "We need to cut our losses and let go...I can't see another way." "What if I can?" Adriana said hopefully.
At La Boulaie, Langston popped in to Dorian's room with the big Cramer Enterprises poster. Dorian explained that she wasn't okay. Yesterday was supposed to be the best day ever and it was far from it. Dorian lamented that she had done everything she could to make sure Adriana and Rex didn't marry. "Rex is a pig and a dog and that's an insult to pigs and dogs," Dorian told her shocked foster daughter. Langston wondered if Dorian might consider letting the people she love screw up their own lives. Still, Langston promised Dorian she wouldn't desert her. Dorian told her she didn't ever have to work for CE if she didn't want to.
Todd broke into Dorian's kitchen and demanded to make a deal with Starr.
Blair called the police while Starr glared at her father. Todd accused Starr of now being a part of the conspiracy against him. Blair insisted that he leave. "You know, Mom, this is between me and Dad," Starr said firmly. "I hate it when Dad calls me his little girl," she continued. Starr wondered what they would do. "We can't hide this from him forever," Starr noted. She told her mother that she hadn't thought about being a mother.
Marcie and Michael made love. Michael opened the door to head to work and found Todd and his new bodyguard standing there. "What do you want, Todd?" Michael asked. Todd showed Michael the restraining order. "You made it so I can't even see Sam," Todd whined. "Instead of looking at yourself, you are going to blame it on us," Michael observed. Michael told Todd and his bodyguard that he knew several ways to quickly kill both of them. Todd warned that if he didn't get permanent custody of Sam, Todd would kill Michael.
Michael shut the door in Todd's face and then left to go to work. Marcie double locked her door.
Jared gave Charlie a glass of orange juice. Charlie said he was going to apologize to Viki and Rex. Jared blamed himself for everything. Charlie hoped that Viki and Rex would give him a second chance. Jared headed out to make some apologizes. Natalie visited Charlie. He told her that Jared had gone to "face the music." Natalie and Charlie agreed it would be a long time before either one of them got back into Viki's good graces.
Jared rang the doorbell at the Buchanan mansion. Nigel answered. Bo, Clint and Nora were working like dogs to undo Dorian's takeover. Nigel opened the door and Jared walked in. Conversation stopped. Jared tried to apologize but Bo and Clint wanted him to leave immediately. "What are you doing here, Banks?" Bo asked. "I have to tell you I'm sorry," Jared said. Nora entered the fray and stated no one cared about what Jared had to say about "the privilege to spending time with them." Renee entered the living room and slapped Jared.
As Viki tried to comfort a bereft Jessica, she called Jared an interloper and didn't understand why Natalie had kept his secret. Viki was also very angry at herself for believing Charlie. Jessica started to cry again when she explained that she had ordered three cakes to celebrate three great things for her little family. "The day didn't turn out the way I planned it," she sniffed. "They seldom do, sweetheart," Viki replied. "Your children will keep Nash alive," Viki promised her devastated daughter.
Tuesday
Blair tried to get Starr to open up about how she feels about her pregnancy.
Starr admitted she doesn't know if she "wants this baby." Blair wondered if Starr wanted to have an abortion. No, Starr didn't want that, but she did want to be Sam's age all over again. Cole popped in for a surprise visit and went right to the sonogram of their baby. "Is that amazing or what?" he marveled. Starr looked forlorn. She complained about being "fat and moody." "You look gorgeous," Cole assured as he snapped her photo for his cell phone. The teens talked about their future as parents. Cole tried to convince her that he'd be a great dad. Blair listened in on their conversation and immediately asked if they'd take Sam to the park. Cole grabbed Sam and was very excited about the babysitting gig.
Addie said she was more excited about the baby than anyone, "except possibly the father," she quipped. Blair asked her mom about when she was pregnant with her. "Do you think you could tell me a little bit about my Dad?" Blair asked gingerly. "Another time," Addie said. Blair vowed that Todd would never influence their children again.
Renee lectured Jared. "You wormed your way into my family," she seethed.
Jared did his best to convince her that he really did care for her and the Buchanans. Jared added that he liked working beside Bo and Clint, and asked if there was any way he could make it right. "Could you bring Nash back?"
Clint asked. Bo asked how Jared managed to tamper with the DNA tests and results. Nigel jumped into the conversation, ready to explain. "I have been a Judas to this family," he admitted. Jared stopped Nigel from telling the true story to the family. He did some quick talking and reworked the whole story. "I call that a confession," Nora said. The police promptly arrested Jared. A stunned Natalie walked in on the whole arrest.
Sarah wept at Capricorn and drank some of Nash's wine. Cris tried to comfort her despite the fact that he was never a big Nash fan. Sarah explained what had happened at the hospital with Nash. "It's just not fair," she wept. In Nash's honor, she gave Cris a mini-wine tasting but started crying again.
Charlie explained to Natalie how he reconnected with Jared. "We'll see him through it," she said. "You've got a lot of your mother in you," he noted.
Charlie admitted he had considered giving up Viki "when I first learned about this whole situation," but he didn't want to. Roxy burst into Charlie's room asking for tips on how to explain why she had lied to Rex about his father. "Same way you'll explain it to me," Natalie said. Roxy tried to change the subject and asked about Jessica. Natalie explained that Rex really liked having Charlie as a father. Natalie kept asking why Roxy lied to Rex. Roxy failed miserably at trying to explain her behavior, and she didn't know what she'd do if Rex didn't forgive her. Natalie insisted that the only way Roxy could make this right would be if Roxy told Rex the truth about his real father. Charlie and Roxy's quiet conversation was interrupted when Rex stood at the door.
Earlier, Adriana begged Rex not to end their new marriage. She admitted having turned into a maniac, and explained she needed time to find the woman she used to be. "You need time, I need space," Rex said. Adriana said she was going to take a temporary job in Paris. "Separated, not divorced. What do you say?" she asked Rex. Rex hugged his wife, but his eyes were filled with sadness. He admitted he still loved her, but he couldn't make any promises. "Don't forget about me, Rex," Adriana said as she kissed him goodbye. Rex wept in the loft as Adriana headed over to see Marcie.
Wednesday
Rex confronted Charlie and Roxy in Charlie's hospital room. "What a week.
First I lost my father and then I lost my wife...we're taking a break," Rex noted. Rex demanded answers from a shocked Roxy and Charlie. "I never meant to hurt you," Charlie insisted. Rex rattled off all of Jared's misdeeds. "You became a Balsom so he could stay a Buchanan. Where's your cash cut?" Rex barked. "Rex, it's not his fault," Roxy said. "How did it feel when I called you 'Dad'?" Rex asked. "I felt ashamed and I also felt proud," Charlie confessed. Rex, holding back tears, cornered his mom. "Walter Balsom wasn't my father, so who was?" Rex demanded. "Bo has been more of a father to me than you ever were," Rex added and told Roxy she was no longer his mother. "I never want to see either one of you again," he said as he left Charlie's room. "He'll come around," Roxy said through her tears.
Rex stormed through the hospital halls and ran into Gigi. Charlie urged Roxy to tell Rex who his real father is. Roxy thought Rex would be far more upset than he is now if she told him the truth.
Adriana visited Marcie to say goodbye. "Blair is going to take good care of Sam," Adriana said. She explained that she was going to Paris alone, and added that she and Rex just separated. Marcie was shocked. She asked if Gigi's wedding announcement was the reason. Adriana said it was her own fault. "I became somebody I didn't like," she admitted.
Marcie felt bad for her. Adriana said she had been a total bitch by not letting Marcie be a part of their wedding party. She thought that because Marcie was Gigi's friend, she didn't want her to be hers anymore. Marcie admitted it had hurt "when you said some of those things that weren't so nice." "I don't want to go," Adriana sobbed. Adriana added that Rex had just learned that Charlie wasn't his father. "When he looks at me, he just sees another person who lied to him," Adriana explained, but she added she fears Rex will fall in love with Gigi again. Speaking of Gigi, guess who then knocked on Marcie's door? Awkward! Adriana left but not before assuring Gigi that she had not told Rex about Shane. Marcie told Gigi that things were better with Michael and that she was going to start volunteering at the hospital. Adriana wiped a tear before boarding the plane to Paris.
A strange woman criticized Cole and Starr for ordering a cheeseburger and fries for little Sam. Cole jumped to Starr's defense. "My girlfriend would be a great mother," he stressed. "All you need is love." Starr asked the woman if she had kids. "I waited until I found a man I could spend the rest of my life with," she replied before walking off. Cole tried to calm Starr down. "Don't listen to her," he said. "I think she's right," Starr countered. Starr expressed her fears about labor and breast feeding. "It's going to be all on me," Starr shared. "I don't want to be a downer, but one of us has to be realistic." Cole vowed to do his share. "I won't let you down. I promise," he said. In the park, some guys ridiculed Cole for not joining them in a pick-up basketball game. Cole made it clear that he would stay with Sam. Starr didn't know how Cole put up with her now that she's always cranky. "Because I love you," he answered. He wondered what Marty would think about them having a baby. He thought she would be upset because he didn't "exercise better judgment." He added that he sometimes he can feel Marty's presence, even though "I know that my mom isn't coming back." Cole wanted to name the baby Margaret, if it was a girl. More immediately, the teens didn't know how to calm baby Sam.
"Marcie, we really need your help," Starr begged.
Gigi, Brody and Shane enjoyed a family outing in the park. "Nothing's impossible. Look at me, I've come back from the dead," Brody explained. Gigi was still worried that Adriana would spill the beans about Rex being Shane's father. Brody thought if it was going to happen it would have happened already. He thought that Gigi wanted the truth to come out. Shane wondered if he should be taking his father's name now. He asked if Brody ever thought about him on past Father's Days. Shane said he always thought about him and prayed for him. Shane invited Brody to a father-son event and Brody happily said yes.
John, Talia and Antonio were wondering who Ramsey was keeping in the penthouse. They were sure that the medical records they had found belonged to that mystery person. They listened to Ramsey's conversation with the mystery woman. They overheard a conversation from Jonas, ambassador from Mendorra, who reported that the Crown Princess of Mendorra was on her way and upset about the loss of the jewels. Unfortunately, the nurse disrupted the bug and communication went down between the bedroom and the van, where John, Talia and Antonio were hiding. Moments later, John heard the woman say, "Help me." Then viewers saw Marty lying in bed.
The ambassador welcomed the Crown Princess. "You can call me Tina," she said.
Thursday
Rex ran into Gigi at the hospital. Gigi demanded that he tell her what was bothering him. "My whole life is a con," he admitted. Gigi told him she had just seen Adriana at Marcie's. Rex explained what happened between he and Adriana. "Leaving you was the last thing she wanted to do," Gigi shared. Rex added that it was only a separation at the moment. "Sounds reasonable," Gigi said, trying to be optimistic. "She'll be back soon." Rex pointed out that Shane and Gigi were involved in their problems.
He explained that Adriana brought Brody to Llanview. Gigi was stunned when she realized cash had been involved. She became furious. "Maybe I should strangle him," Gigi fumed. "This whole time, Brody has been scamming me." Rex tried to calm her down. "I find out he's drawing a salary to be a father to my kid?" she went on. Gigi said she would try to match Brody's salary from Adriana, then said she felt bad for Shane. She noted that she and Rex were both "suckers." Rex offered to help her come up with the money to help Brody stay around. They decided to stay friends even though Gigi was going to see Charlie.
Todd and his bodyguard saw Starr and Cole in the park trying to take care of Sam. Starr begged Marcie to help her. Todd yelled at Sean to "do something." Starr clearly couldn't handle her baby brother. Marcie offered some tips. She told Starr to first calm down. Marcie took Sam in her arms and he immediately stopped crying. Todd wanted to jump out of the car, but his bodyguard advised against it. Marcie explained that she was just like Starr when she first got Sam (then Tommy). She added that she didn't have patience either when she was Starr's age. Starr listened intently. The teen asked Marcie if she thought Todd deserved to raise Sam. Marcie dodged the question. "Tommy is gone," Marcie said sadly. Marcie admitted that she did want Sam back, "but I do believe the judge made the right decision." Marcie explained that she would never be able to adopt another child. Starr realized that Todd had screwed this up for Marcie. Cole tried to calm Starr down. "You are going to make a great mom someday," Marcie assured her. A happy Sam got a ride on Cole's shoulders as the group left the park. Starr pondered her future as a teenage mom.
Todd stayed in the car, but peered out the window when Tina drove by. He recognized his sister, but couldn't believe that she was back. He insisted they follow her limo.
Marty begged Ramsey not to leave. He gave her a pill for her headache. "You are too important to me," Ramsey told the bedridden woman.
Tina cuddled her dog (oddly named David Vickers) and complained about the air journey to Llanview. Jonas apologized for the loss of the Mendorra crown jewels. Tina explained that the Llanview police department had lost her jewels. "There is only one man who can help me, and he is not one of the good guys," Princess Tina explained. Jonas was surprised that Tina was familiar with Llanview. "There is nothing ordinary about this town," she mused. Tina explained how she became the Crown Princess of Mendorra. She arrived at Todd's old building and was welcomed by Ramsey. "Cut the crap," she barked, "Where are the jewels?" Ramsey showed them to her. "Not so fast, Your Highness. Show me the money," Ramsey said. While Ramsey counted the euros, Tina headed to the washroom. The doorbell rang and two thugs broke in.
They shot Ramsey and Ramsey's doorman. Tina heard everything and hid in the bathroom. John entered the penthouse and shot the thugs. "It's not our time," a relieved Tina told her pooch. Marty fell out of bed. John heard something and ran up to see what happened. He didn't find Marty but just missed Todd as he entered his old penthouse. "It's a massacre," Todd's bodyguard said. "What the hell happened here?" Todd wondered. Marty tried to get to the door. Todd was stunned to find Marty and called her by name. "You know me?" she asked.
Tina ran out of the penthouse and headed back to the limo. John chased the limo and Jonas shot him in the shoulder. Tina's car took off.
Friday
Tina asked Jonas why he shot John. She downplayed the bloodbath at Ramsey's penthouse as "an incident." Tina demanded that they go to the airport, but Jonas refused. As he waved a gun around, Tina escaped from the car. She arrived in the park and heard Sarah (her daughter) singing. "What a beautiful voice. Do you think it's a sign, David Vickers?" she asked her dog. Then she looked at the singer. "Sarah," she whispered. Sarah stopped singing. Jonas pulled a gun on Sarah and Cris. He asked if they'd seen a woman with a small dog in a big hat. Sarah showed some attitude so Jonas threatened to shoot her. She lied and directed Jonas further into the park. Cris hugged Sarah and she admitted she thought she heard her mother's voice.
Todd was stunned to find Marty on the floor. "Not dead, eh?" he said.
"Please don't hurt me," she begged.
"What's going on?" he asked. "Don't touch me," Marty snarled, which caused Todd to wonder if she did know exactly who he was. The nurse entered the living room and began screaming. Marty heard her. Todd said he'd check it out. Marty struggled to get back in bed, but was clearly unable to walk. Marty managed to get herself back into bed and looked at the photo of herself with John. The nurse saw that Ramsey was dead. Todd came down and didn't want her to call the police. Todd told her that Marty was fine. Todd offered Janet, the nurse, some money to work for him. "She needs
24 hour medical care," she explained. Todd took charge. "If Marty needs to be taken care of, I'll do it." Marty fell asleep and Todd took the photo of John from her hands. Todd's bodyguard carried Marty out of the penthouse.
John tried to put a sling on his arm, but screamed in pain. Some officers found John and he gave them the license plate of Tina's car. He wanted to go back to the penthouse, but the cops insisted he go to the ER. Unfazed, John charged into the penthouse and headed upstairs. He found Todd in the now-empty bedroom. "Top of the evening to you, John," Todd deadpanned. When John asked who had been in the empty hospital bed, Todd played dumb.
In Dorian's kitchen, Markko and Langston had a water gun fight. Starr complained of morning sickness. She told her friends about Sam's meltdown in the park, and explained that Marcie helped them calm the child down. "She was really great," Starr added. She reminded Cole that Todd would explode when he finds out that Starr is pregnant with Cole's baby. "We all sound like a bunch of 30 year olds," Starr said, disgusted at the four of them. She said she couldn't join her friends in the upcoming trip to the amusement park because she had a doctor's appointment. Starr wanted them to go without her and have "fun for me." The other three felt bad about it. The guys left. Langston demanded that Starr admit what's bothering her. She admitted to Langston that she "can't keep this baby,"
and explained that she wanted to give the baby up for adoption. But, Starr added, she didn't know how she'd break the news to Cole.
Sarah started to write a song for Nash. Cris reminded Sarah that they only have "one life." "One life...I like that," Sarah mused as she began singing a folksy ditty.
