Roxy asked why Gigi was saving all those photos of Rex and Gigi from "back in the day." Rex claimed that his friendship with Gigi was just that, a friendship. Roxy added that Gigi had lost all the photos of Shane's dad. Roxy still suspected that Rex might be Shane's dad. Rex said that was impossible. Roxy hugged her son goodbye and left. Rex answered the door wrapped in a towel. It was Gigi. She avoided looking at him, as he was dripping wet. Rex went to get dressed. "Okay, what do you have to tell me?" Rex said to a jittery Gigi. She got up and walked away from Rex on the couch. Clearly nervous, she started talking. "I need to tell you something," she said. "Shane's dad isn't who he thinks he is. I lied to you Rex, both you and Shane. Shane is your son," a tearful Gigi said at the exact moment when Adriana walked in the door.
Marcie watched Shane because he was sick and was staying home from school.
Marcie asked Gigi if she had met Adriana and if there was a wedding date yet. Gigi looked uncomfortable and tried to change the subject. Marcie talked with Shane and began to explain the story of Tommy, now Sam. Shane didn't understand why Gigi had a lot of photos of Rex "but none of my dad." Starr dropped in to see Marcie. "I need to tell you something, something very important, before it's too late," she said. "It's about Sam. Tommy. You need to take your son back from my dad," she declared.
Natalie called Jared before he headed out for a run. She informed him she had recorded his recent meetings. Uh-oh. Jared remembered he had had a heart-to-heart with Nigel in Nat's office, and he immediately panicked. Jared told Nigel that their entire conversation had been caught on tape. Jared begged Natalie to stop listening to the tape and wait for him to come to the office, but he didn't explain why. Gigi arrived at work. Natalie gave Gigi the tape to transcribe, but first noted that Shane and Rex had a cute bond. Gigi didn't offer Natalie any details. Jared arrived at the office. Natalie gave him the reports he had wanted and left to go to a meeting. Jared walked in to find Gigi transcribing the conversation between Nigel and Jared. Jared wondered why Gigi was doing that. "It's a private conversation," he explained. Gigi explained that Natalie had asked her to transcribe the meetings. Jared gave Gigi an assignment to deliver an envelope to Rex. She left the office and Jared took over at the desk. "What are you doing?" Natalie asked as she reentered her office. A nervous Jared tried to keep Natalie from the tape recorder, but she sent him off. Apparently, Jared had been able to cover because he called Nigel and told him his secret was still safe...or maybe not. Jared raced back to Natalie's office and found her there with John. "You need to know this upfront. I think this is a matter for the police," she told a wide-eyed Jared.
Antonio shared with Talia that he was worried about Jamie's future. Talia didn't think it was such a bad thing if Jamie had to work for a living. John entered the squad room and asked Antonio if he had asked Ramsey about why they were sent on that lame assignment. Antonio admitted he hadn't asked.
Ramsey wondered what John was going to question him about. John asked his boss why he was put on that assignment. "Any uniform could have done that," he noted. Ramsey asked Antonio if he felt that way. Antonio paused. Ramsey suggested that John follow Antonio's lead. John called Antonio on his behavior. "I know you hate this as much as I do," John said. "Don't tell me how I feel," Antonio barked. Antonio didn't want to be pulled down with John. "You just keep sucking up," John snarked. The two detectives began to argue. "Maybe you can afford it, but I can't anymore. I have a daughter to support," Antonio explained. Talia tried to comfort Antonio. "I just need a minute," he said as he walked out. Antonio snapped at Talia. "I get it. Everything out of John McBain's mouth is justified." Antonio said he didn't have the luxury to go against Ramsey. Ramsey called Antonio to his office. He had an assignment for Antonio at Angel Square and then would match up Talia and John.
Todd suggested they move back to the penthouse because it was safer. However, that wasn't going to be that easy as it had already been sold. Todd bonded with Sam. "One of these days I'll tell you the story of us," he said. Todd knocked at the door of his penthouse. Ramsey answered. Todd was not amused.
Langston wondered why Starr had written what she had to Cole. "He came here last night," Langston told her BFF. Starr tried to explain that she had to make Cole believe that it was over. "I just want it to stop," Starr said.
Langston couldn't believe what she was hearing. Starr continued to explain that she had to give him up because it's best for Cole. "How could your dad do this?" Langston asked. "What your dad is doing to you is abuse." Starr tried to leave the house alone, but Shaun, her new bodyguard, wouldn't let her.
Cole reread his "Dear Cole" letter he had received from Starr. Jared asked what was up. "There is no me and Starr," he shared. John dropped in on Cole and found out that he had tried to see Starr. "What are we going to do about you?" John asked. Cole showed John the "Dear Cole" letter. "Starr doesn't want anything to do with me," he said sadly. John tried to explain that Starr probably had to write that and encouraged Cole to head to a counseling session. He reminded Cole that he was there for him and offered him a lift to school. "I'm okay," Cole insisted. John asked Nigel to call him for an update.
Langston came by Cole's and told him that what Starr wrote in the letter wasn't true. "She told you that?" he asked.
Tuesday
Natalie told a nervous Jared they had a fraud issue at Buchanan Enterprises. Jared was convinced Natalie was talking about him. "Nigel's not to blame," Jared insisted. "Is that all you have to say?" John asked. Natalie kept talking and Jared realized she didn't know about Jared's big secret. "How did you know that Harris Lord was skimming from BE?" Natalie asked. Jared had to do some fast talking and pretended to know what Natalie was discussing. "Enough, enough, enough, stop making this your fault, Jared," Natalie said firmly. Jared was very relieved. John said he'd bring in some overseas people to investigate the situation. Jared quickly left. John thought Jared seemed a little anxious. "He's kind of hard on himself," Natalie explained. Gigi ran into John at BE. He asked why she was staying in town "now that Ramsey is the commissioner." "I have my reasons," she replied. Gigi was back at work in Natalie's office. Jared managed to get her to wait for a fax while he went through Natalie's desk. Of course, Natalie returned to her office. "What is going on here? This is the second time today I've seen you messing at my desk." Natalie said. Jared admitted he wanted to erase a conversation he had with Nigel. "So what are you hiding from me?" Natalie asked. Jared did some quick thinking and explained that he had shared with Nigel his feelings about Natalie and didn't want her to get upset if she heard that exchange. Natalie bought his story and deleted the conversation. "And for the record, you are right. I don't ever want to hear you talking about us in that way again," Natalie said to a very, very, very relieved Jared.
Sarah answered Cristian's door in just her undies, but it was a shocked Blair, not Cristian, who she greeted. Sarah put some clothes on and re-opened the door. Blair apologized but explained she had a business proposition for Cristian. Cris came home. Blair announced that she had just bought Capricorn and assured Cristian and Sarah that they would still have their jobs. Cris wanted to make sure that Blair wasn't doing this as an act of charity. She assured him that she wasn't and added that Todd had no idea she was buying the club.
Todd couldn't believe that Ramsey was living in his penthouse. Ramsey made it clear that he is indeed the new owner. "I'd like my place back," Todd said. Ramsey wondered why Todd was there. "You should be taking hula lessons," Ramsey cracked. He repeated that he owns the penthouse and he's not selling it anytime soon. Todd asked how much he wanted for it, but Ramsey refused to sell. The security guard intoned that Mr. Ramsey "is the owner of the apartment. Mr. Manning, you have to leave now." Todd got a call and left but his parting words were, "I'll get that back."
Starr begged Marcie to get Tommy away from her father. Marcie asked if Tommy was okay. "What did your dad do to him?" she asked Starr. Marcie demanded details when Starr said that Todd was a horrible person. "Did your father hit Tommy?" Marcie asked. Starr lied and said yes. Marcie got upset and didn't quite know what to do. She didn't know if she should call Michael. Starr told her how unhappy Tommy was at the Manning house. "I would love to have him back, you know that," Marcie said. John arrived at Marcie's request. He began to question Starr, who looked very uncomfortable. "Mrs. McBain said that Tommy would be put in a foster home," Starr said. It was clear to John that this wasn't about Tommy — it was about Starr's desire to hurt her father. "I think this is about Starr and Cole," John surmised. Starr caved and apologized to Marcie. Marcie became angry when she realized that Starr had lied to her. There was a knock on Marcie's door — it was Todd. Oh, great. Todd was given the heads up from Shaun, Starr's bodyguard. Starr told her father to "shut up" and she stormed out. Todd wanted to get into it with John but he, too, was shown the door.
Gigi told Rex he was Shane's father but he didn't hear her because he had his headphones on. Adriana walked in. "What's going on?" she said to a teary Gigi. "What are you crying about?" Rex saw his fiancée, jumped up and started kissing her. Gigi looked very uncomfortable. Adriana peppered Gigi with questions and then slammed Gigi's outfit. "It's not like you are an exec or anything," Adriana sniped. Rex headed downstairs to get Adriana's luggage. Gigi began to leave. "You didn't answer my question, Gigi. What were you crying about?" Adriana asked pointedly. Gigi said she has bad allergies. Adriana didn't believe her. Gigi left to go back to the office. After she left, Adriana grabbed Rex and they started smooching. The two jumped into bed, but not before Adriana said she had to go back to Paris soon. After making love, Adriana suggested they get married before her next trip.
Wednesday
Ramsey paid a visit to Natalie at Buchanan Enterprises about the pending police case. Bo walked in and was none too pleased to see Ramsey on his turf. "What the hell is he doing here?" Bo asked. Bo thought the current problem should be handled at the federal level. Nora agreed, but "the commissioner didn't think so." Ramsey promised that anyone "who breaks the law will be brought down." Nora had a subpoena for paperwork. Gigi walked in to the office and dropped a folder of papers when she saw Ramsey there. Bo told Jared he didn't like Ramsey having access to BE's records. "I don't trust anything or anyone," Bo said. Ramsey reached out to Bo and hoped they could bury the hatchet. Ramsey offered his hand, but Bo did not respond. Back at the station, Ramsey placed a mysterious call. "Everything here is moving along as planned. Pretty soon I'll have everything I need," he said cryptically.
Gigi had a tough day at the office. First the coffee machine broke, and it was all downhill from there. Jared helped her clean up. "I can't afford to get fired," she said, holding back tears. Gigi had an uncomfortable encounter with Ramsey. "Quite a step up from slinging hash in Texas," he quipped while she was straightening up the boardroom. Ramsey wished her and Shane well and then slithered out. Gigi started crying at the boardroom table.
Jared walked in and Gigi offered up her allergies excuse to explain the tears. Jared didn't buy that for a minute. He did his best to comfort her and felt that kissing her was the way to do it. Rex walked in on their kiss.
Lindsay had another folder of scoop for Clint, who said he didn't want it.
She told him how she sweet-talked someone at the Palace about Honeycutt. "This is guaranteed to solve the problem. Look at this as retribution," she said. When Lindsay heard Nora coming, she ducked into the bathroom. After kissing Clint hello, Nora said she came for the file on the Harris York case and picked up the papers on Clint's desk. (Those papers, however, were those from Lindsay, the scoop papers.) Nora admitted that she was obsessed with the fact that Lindsay got away with murder "on my watch." Bo interrupted their conversation. "Nora, enough is enough, lay off Lindsay," he advised. "She's a two-time murderer and she's gotten away with it two times," Nora maintained. Bo didn't want to get into it, but did want to use Clint's shower. He headed toward the bathroom, not knowing that Lindsay was hiding there.
Dorian was shocked to learn that Adriana was no longer in Paris, but in Rex's arms. Viewers heard that Dorian was investing in a company in Paris with the understanding that the company will keep Adriana in the City of Lights.
Adriana suggested she and Rex get married today. She called her fiancé on his apparent mixed feelings. "I have to assume you are falling out of love with me," she said. Rex insisted it wasn't true. "What is this big rush to the altar?" he asked. Rex and Adriana's love in the afternoon was interrupted by Dorian's brisk knocking on the door. Dorian was delighted to see her daughter and oohed and ahhed over her new coat. Then she came across a pink polyester scarf which she knew wasn't Adriana's. Adriana mentioned that the scarf was Gigi's. Rex left the mother and daughter to return the scarf to Gigi at BE. Adriana told Dorian she was in town "just until Rex and I are married." Dorian's mouth dropped open. Adriana explained that she wanted to start her marriage now. "Why are you here?" Adriana asked her mother.
John dropped by Antonio's with a folder full of dirt on Lee Ramsey. Antonio came home. "What's all this?" he asked grimly. Antonio didn't appear interested in going through the stuff on Ramsey, but was happy to report that Blair agreed to his asking price for Capricorn. "So it appears that Jamie and I will be able to stay here after all," Antonio said. He wondered why John was willing to risk all their necks to stop Ramsey. "I know this guy is dirty, Antonio. I know that Ramsey is up to something and we're going to stop him before he hurts somebody else," John replied. John must have made a quick exit, because we next saw Talia and Antonio about to make love on the floor.
Thursday
Rex walked in on Jared and Gigi kissing. Rex left and then Natalie saw the smoochers as well. She shook her head in disbelief. The kissing stopped and Jared apologized. Gigi said she never kissed her boss. Jared said he wasn't her boss..."at least I'm not used to being called that." They agreed to forget "any of that ever happened." Gigi asked Jared not to tell anyone. She didn't want to lose her job. She asked Jared a heartbreaking question. "When you found out the truth about your father, did you hate your mom for not telling you?" she said with a slight quiver in her voice. Jared assured her that he never hated his mother. Natalie gave Gigi the scarf and asked if she was okay. "You mean what happened in the boardroom," a nervous Gigi asked. "Yes," Natalie said, "I think we should talk about that." Gigi admitted to having spilled coffee everywhere and that that made her feel "clumsy." Natalie gave her the rest of the day off since the copier was broken and her son was sick, however she remained highly suspect of her new assistant.
Charlie popped in on Jared in the boardroom. Jared told his father he was almost caught on tape admitting he wasn't a Buchanan. He added he sort of felt relieved that the truth almost came out. Charlie took the blame for the situation they were in because of what he did way back when. "We need to talk about it someday. Let it be now," Charlie told an uncomfortable Jared.
"It wasn't an accident," Jared blurted out, alluding to something we viewers apparently know nothing about.
A flustered Rex gave Natalie Gigi's scarf to give to her. Natalie thought Rex was jealous when he saw Gigi and Jared kissing. Rex denied that and accused Natalie of projecting. Rex thought Natalie might be jealous. Natalie immediately reminded him, "Jared is my uncle." Rex jumped to Gigi's defense. "She would not plant a kiss on someone she barely knows." Rex left to get ready for his imminent wedding at the courthouse.
Adriana questioned Dorian on how she knew she was back. Dorian admitted to having had a conversation with someone in Paris. She asked what the rush was for Adriana and Rex to get married. Dorian reminded Adriana that Rex had been married before. "Rex is going to be your son-in-law for the rest of your life," Adriana said. Rex came home with the take-out coffee, and was surprised to see Dorian still there. He suggested they not get married that day and they pick a date right then and there. They booked the date: May 9. Rex shared that he'd just seen Viki working at the diner. Dorian rang up the mayor and asked to meet him at the Angel Square Diner.
Viki asked Charlie how his job interview was. They admitted to missing each other the previous night. Viki offered to pick up an ill Jamie. She looked lovingly at the diner and immediately offered to don an apron so Carlotta could take care of her granddaughter. Rex was surprised to see Viki serving coffee. Rex told her that he and Adriana might be getting married "today." Viki was delighted. She thought Natalie was working long hours "probably to avoid her mother." Viki was furious when Rex spilled the beans that Natalie had wanted Rex to investigate Charlie. Bo was quite amused to see Viki working in the diner. Bo noted to Viki that there was an awful lot of intrigue in the business world. "You are carrying on your father's legacy; that's very important," Viki said. Gigi arrived and immediately donned an apron. Viki offered to take the back stations and the relatives. Nora entered and was surprised to see Viki. The two hugged warmly. Nora seated her "far away from Bo and Lindsay." Clint reminded Viki that last time she was a waitress she had been taken hostage. Viki was nonplussed by that remark. Dorian gleefully showed the mayor that Viki was waitressing.
Jessica and Nash went to Cris' to see his designs for the wine bottle labels. Nash wasn't impressed. A dejected Cris thought he might not be the right artist for the job. Sarah brought out another version and Nash loved that. Nash and Jessica went home and Sarah and Cris began kissing.
Earlier at BE, Bo told Nora in no uncertain terms that he wasn't going to indulge in any Lindsay bashing. Nora apologized. She added that she didn't want Lindsay to become an issue between Clint and Bo. Nora asked Clint if he thought Lindsay had changed. Clint thought that what Lindsay had gone through probably did change her in some way. Bo charged into the shower and turned on the faucet drenching Lindsay, who was hiding in it. Bo had to leave the office, mercifully for Lindsay. Clint turned off the water. Nora apologized again for putting him on the spot. Nora left and Clint told Lindsay she could come out. "What is it about this place that turns women into drowned rats?" he quipped. Clint wanted Lindsay to take the folder of gossipy information, but Lindsay refused. "There's nothing to be ashamed of," she said on her way out.
Friday
Marcie saw Gigi working at the diner and panicked thinking Gigi had lost her job at BE. Gigi admitted she had kissed her boss. "Clint? Bo?" Marcie asked. "No, Jared," Gigi clarified. "The new Buchanan," Marcie said with a smile. Rex joined them. Marcie reported that Shane talks about Rex all the time. Rex asked Gigi about the new job. Layla arrived at the diner and wanted to buy a bottle of champagne to celebrate Rex and Adriana's upcoming wedding. Layla asked if Gigi should be on the guest list. Hearing that, Marcie asked if Jared was on the guest list. Jared dropped by the diner and was amused to see Gigi at work. Rex was clearly annoyed at Jared and began making wise cracks about Jared keeping Gigi busy. Rex accused Jared of taking advantage of women, ie. Natalie, Jessica and now Gigi. "I would never hurt a woman," Jared declared. The two men started arguing. Rex accused Jared of being a user. Jared punched Rex.
Viki enjoyed serving the mayor and Viki and hoped for a big tip. "So are you going to eat or gloat," Viki said ready to take their orders.
Jared told Charlie that "it wasn't an accident." Jared told Charlie that his
step-father "beat all of us. You didn't care. All you cared about was where
your next bottle was coming from." Jared added that he should have protected his younger brother. Apparently, years ago Jared and Jimmy were playing in the front yard. Jimmy had asked Jared to make the yelling — coming from inside their house — stop. Jimmy ran out into the street. "I was older, I should have hung on more," Jared said. (Jared was 9.) "I was your father I should have protected you both," a clearly shaken Charlie said. Charlie left and practically broke down outside the boardroom door. Charlie arrived at
the diner and had a minute to sit with Viki. The interview, he reported,
went okay. He couldn't share what had just happened with Jared.
Todd entered the living room, called Nora and told her to "ward Cole" away from Starr. Nora hung up on him. Todd was convinced that Starr was at Marcie's to arrange a meeting with Cole. Blair asked Starr to explain
why she was at the McBain's. She had told Marcie that Todd hit Sam. Todd and Blair were very upset as Todd has never hit his children. Starr said she
backed down and told John and Marcie the truth, that Todd had never hit Sam.
Adriana admitted to Layla that she was a jealous fianceé. Layla said that Adriana should definitely try to find out why Gigi was crying and saying "I'm sorry" when Adriana returned from Paris. The ladies began talking about Gigi and Shane. It clearly bothered Adriana that Gigi was letting Rex get close to Shane. Adriana got another call from Paris demanding that she do some additional work. Adriana figured out that her mother was behind these frequent calls from France. Adriana immediately called her mother and asked her to come back to Rex's. Dorian left the mayor but not after hinting about "those outstanding issues" and getting a dig at Clint and Nora fitting right in at the diner. Dorian headed to Adriana's. Adriana grabbed Dorian's phone and saw that her mother had been making many calls to Jean-Pierre in Paris. Furious, she called her mother a selfish bitch.
Markko and Langston told Cole they set up a meeting between him and Starr. "I would never forgive myself if Todd found out and something happened to you," Markko told Langston. Langston arrived home and made sure the back windows were open. Cole snuck in but unfortunately Todd and Blair came home early. Blair opened the French doors to see a shocked Cole staring back at her.
