One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of March 24, 2008
Monday
Rex warned Jared to stay away from Gigi and painted a grotesque picture of their potential future together, even suggesting that Jared would beat her, which prompted Jared to sock Rex in the jaw at the diner. Gigi and Natalie rushed over, and Gigi explained that Jared wasn’t hitting on her and their kiss was mutual. Charlie arrived in time to witness the scuffle and asked Rex what he was doing. Rex argued that Jared is a jerk, but Charlie said Rex doesn’t know that. Rex was curious as to why Charlie was defending Jared. Offering a bit of fatherly advice, Charlie asked Rex if he’s jealous of Gigi and Jared. Rex assured Charlie that he’s not jealous and is in love with Adriana, who by the way, he’ll be marrying on May 9. Charlie gave Rex a congratulatory hug, which Jared witnessed. Natalie scolded Jared for taking advantage of their newest employee and was clearly more upset about the kiss than she was willing to admit. Meanwhile, Gigi confessed to Marcie and Layla that Rex always had a thing about protecting her, even when she could take care of herself.
Adriana was furious upon figuring out that her mother was pulling the strings in France to keep her away from Rex. She grabbed her mom’s cell phone and proved that she made more than 200 phone calls to Jean-Pierre. Adriana was hurt that her mom would go to such great lengths to keep them apart and make Adriana believe that her designs were a success. Dorian insisted that they did like her designs in France and that she just wants what’s best for her daughter. But Adriana wanted to write her mother off and told her not to bother coming to the wedding. When Dorian didn’t get the message, Adriana tossed Dorian’s coat out the door and slammed the door after her. Dorian remained on the other side and tried to talk to her though the window, telling Adriana that she will always love her, will even support her marriage with Rex and will basically do anything she wants. That last offer prompted Adriana to open the door. “If I don’t marry Rex, I’ll never speak to you again,” Adriana stated, putting the pressure on her mom to make sure the wedding goes off without a hitch.
Antonio offered Ramsey his thoughts on improving the safety of Angel Square’s residents. Antonio didn’t look too pleased to find John and Talia comfortably joking around with each other outside Ramsey’s office. Ramsey pointed out how chummy John was with Antonio’s girlfriend, but Antonio wanted to get back to the task at hand. After their meeting, Ramsey summoned John to his office, while Antonio asked Talia what was going on earlier. Talia explained that they were just recounting their botched robbery investigation to some of their fellow cops. Antonio advised her to take her job seriously. Meanwhile Ramsey warned John against letting his personal life interfere in his professional life, and reminded John that he could take back his badge at any time.
Starr was nervous about the plan to meet Cole, who had just snuck into the La Boulaie living room and was spotted by Blair. She advised him to hide before Todd came in and was about to lure her husband upstairs when Todd heard a noise in the living room. He spotted the open door and went to check it out, so Blair urged him to come upstairs with her. Todd poured a drink and toasted to their daughter forgetting about Cole. Blair suggested they take the party up to the bedroom, but Todd wanted to have sex right there on Dorian’s couch! To distract him, Blair blurted out that she bought Capricorn. Starr ran downstairs and cried, “Oh, no!” upon coming face-to-face with her parents. Blair was unable to have a word with the teens because Todd wanted to continue their conversation upstairs. Starr headed into the living room and ran right into Cole’s arms. She explained to Cole that she only wrote the letter because her dad wanted her to stay away from Cole. Blair suddenly stormed into the room and told the teens that this could never happen again and explained that Cole needs to stay away from Starr because Todd will try to put him away for shooting Miles. Blair ushered Cole out the door when they heard Todd coming. “What the hell is going on in here?” Todd asked. Blair fibbed that they were just having a quick mother-daughter chat. Todd vowed that he would never stop pushing Starr away from Cole. Starr and Langston ran upstairs, and Starr said she’d never be able to stay away from Cole.
Carlotta returned to the diner and encountered Gigi, who was effortlessly handling the tables. Carlotta thanked her for helping and offered to let her take some food home as payment. Carlotta was also happy to treat Charlie and Viki to dinner. Before taking off, Rex apologized to Jared about getting the wrong idea earlier and they agreed to move on from it. When Layla pointed out to Gigi that an awful lot was going on in her life, Gigi snapped that she knows Layla called Adriana in Paris to blab that she and Rex were together at Capricorn. Put off by her attitude, Layla left the diner. Marcie remarked that Layla’s not always like that, then blushed and excused herself when Jared came by for a word alone with Gigi. As Viki and Charlie finished their dinner, Viki noted that Charlie clearly has something on his mind. He admitted that he did, but what’s important to him now is that they go on a moonlit walk together. Layla headed to Adriana and Rex’s to inform her friend of Rex and Jared’s fight concerning Gigi. Adriana wasn’t concerned, now that she has her mother’s backing. “Gigi won’t be any problem at all,” Dorian declared.
Tuesday
Gigi surprised Shane with a special birthday breakfast, while Adriana and Rex were enjoying the afterglow of their lovemaking. Adriana was cryptic about some plans she had that day, so Rex headed to the bathroom for a cold shower. While he was out of the room, Adriana told herself she was going to find out exactly what Gigi was so sorry about the other day. Meanwhile, Shane blew out his candles and said the only thing he'd ever wished for was to meet his dad. After Gigi gave him a few gifts, Shane asked why he couldn't tell Rex that it's his birthday. Gigi didn't really say why, and instead assured Shane that the day he was born was the happiest day of her life.
In a rare moment at the Buchanan mansion, Nora woke up Clint with a kiss before getting him some coffee. Once she was out of the room, he received a call from someone indicating that it was Warren Cobb who tried to sabotage the company. In an equally rare Lindsay/Bo moment at Bo's place, they worked on a crossword puzzle while sharing a morning cup of Joe. While Lindsay was helping Bo straighten his tie, he leaned in for a kiss, but pulled back and said he wasn't sure this was a good idea. They acknowledged that something might be brewing between them but should be careful. "Who knows?" Bo said, leaving Lindsay with a smile. Over at the Buchanans, Clint was ranting to someone on the phone about getting a meeting with Cobb, and Nora seemed slightly unsettled by his behavior.
At the diner, Nash told Sarah that he wants her involved in the winery business as well. Sarah was thrilled that Nash wanted her to book a West Coast gig for an upcoming wine event, but Cristian seemed slightly perturbed about the whole thing. Meanwhile, Charlie saw Dorian waiting for Roxy and wondered why Roxy had summoned them both there. May 9, of course, Dorian replied, adding that she hopes the father of the groom and his real son aren't in jail by then. When Dorian saw how worried Charlie was about the truth coming out, she realized how much he really loves Viki. Adriana interrupted their conversation to request Dorian's assistance and said there wouldn't be a wedding to plan if she didn't get her butt over to Adriana's. Roxy arrived with a few wild ideas about the wedding, and one that wasn't bad — having the wedding at Nash's vineyard. Nevertheless, Dorian left to aid her daughter. Roxy commented to Charlie that he really could be Rex's dad. Charlie was confused. Roxy admitted that she had no idea who Rex's father is, but one thing she does know is Walter had nothing to do with Rex's conception. Bo stopped by and congratulated Charlie on winning the contractor project. Bo remarked that he was happy Rex has a "straight shooter" like Charlie to look up to.
As Adriana was getting ready, she not-so-subtly got Rex to admit to having a fight with Jared over Gigi. Dorian soon arrived at the loft and received her assignment: Distract Rex while she goes out to confront Gigi. Adriana then lied to Rex about having some business to take care of with Layla, leaving Rex and Dorian to discuss wedding plans. "Where to begin?" she sighed. After going over various aspects of the wedding, Rex asked why Dorian was suddenly so enthusiastic. Dorian said her one motive is to make sure Adriana is happy, so that's why she wants to be involved.
Over breakfast at the Palace, Jessica asked Viki if she missed her life as a waitress. She said she certainly did, but that she missed her family a lot more when she was in Texas. Jessica admitted to having some reservations about Nash's wine business. When she remarked that she doesn't want to see him lose his integrity, it was clear that she was worried her husband was getting into a shady business deal. Meanwhile, Nash received no argument from his business partner about booking a band for the event. Jessica arrived and received multiple kisses from Nash after watching his business meeting wrap up. Nash explained that he was going to Napa and would need Sarah to join him. As Nash and Sarah giggled in the corner, Cristian asked Jessica if she was okay with them taking a trip together.
Clint met with Warren and accused him of causing his subsidiaries' stocks to tank, and the men reached a stalemate. Clint passed along the file on Cobb, which apparently exposed his shady projects. Before he left, Clint informed Warren that BE is buying him, just as Bo walked in. Meanwhile, Charlie met Viki at the Palace and was happy to tell her about his new gig.
During a mandatory meeting with the judge, Nora tried to get Lindsay to admit that she was fully aware of what she was doing when she killed Spencer. While the judge was out the room, Lindsay called Nora out on her "pathetic revenge fantasies," reminding Nora that she and Clint were once married, so she knows much more about what he wants than she does.
Adriana barged into the Llanfair kitchen and asked Gigi if she was interrupting a party. Gigi lied that it was just a special breakfast tradition between her and Shane, who she ushered upstairs to get ready for school. Adriana found a birthday candle and asked whose birthday it was. Gigi deflected the question, and Adriana issued a warning: Don't screw up her wedding to Rex. Gigi told Adriana to stop harassing her, but Adriana was hell bent on proving that Gigi's got a secret about Shane's dad. "If Rex isn't Shane's father, who is?" she asked.
Wednesday
Adriana continued to press Gigi for the name of Rex's father. Gigi evaded her questions and was about to kick her out when Shane came downstairs and proudly announced that "Seargent Brody Lovett, United States Navy" was his dad. Gigi explained why Shane doesn't have Brody's last name, but Adriana was quick to point out the holes in her story. Gigi suggested that this all has to do with Adriana's own insecurities. After Adriana walked out unsatisfied, Shane returned and apologized for upsetting his mom by blurting out Brody's name. Gigi advised him that there are some things that should stay between them.
Meanwhile, Rex asked Dorian why she was suddenly so supportive of him marrying her daughter. Dorian thought back to Adriana's threat to never speak to Dorian again unless she makes sure the wedding goes off without a hitch. Rex started to get restless and wanted to phone Adriana, but Dorian urged him not to interrupt her meeting with Layla. Dorian went so far as to say she "had a great time" planning with Roxy and Charlie, who is "quite the charmer." Layla arrived looking for Adriana and blew her cover. Adriana soon returned and admitted that she had gone to see Gigi. Rex appreciated Adriana's honesty about her insecurities where Gigi is concerned, then left the ladies to continue their wedding planning. Once Layla was gone, Adriana told Dorian that she trusts Gigi even less now after her little visit. Dorian noted that something had changed about Adriana since she'd gone to Paris, that she seems less innocent.
At BE, Bo was sour that he wasn't consulted on the plan to buy out Warren Cobb's business. After Warren left, Bo reminded Clint that they've known him for a long time and that Warren has struggled as much as their father did to build something from the ground up. "That business is his life," Bo argued. Meanwhile, Jared told Natalie that he gave Gigi the morning off because her son is sick. Natalie griped that that must be one of the perks of making out with your boss. Jared insisted that his kiss with Gigi was a one-time thing and called Natalie out on her jealousy. Nat insisted that she's not jealous of Gigi or anyone who wants to be involved with Jared for that matter. "Sometimes people aren't what they seem," he cryptically suggested before leaving her office.
After a huddle with Bo, Natalie and Jared, Clint summoned Warren back to his office. Warren claimed that it wasn't his idea to go after the BE subsidiaries and he hadn't even approved those plans yet. Clint was steadfast in his decision, however, and told Warren he's finished. "And I thought Asa Buchanan was dead," Warren hissed before leaving. Clint assured disappointed Bo that he did what he had to do. "Yeah, but you didn't have to enjoy it," Bo snapped, pointing out that he didn't have to make Natalie and Jared witness their humiliation of Warren. Bo started to wonder how his brother got Warren to back down. Clint made it clear that he was willing to fight dirty to protect the Buchanan empire. "Don't blame me for doing what needs to be done," Clint declared before heading out.
Marcie arrived at the diner to meet Michael for lunch and was nervous upon seeing Markko, who said she was missed at school. Once Michael arrived and informed her that he'd be working late, she asked if it would always be this way, pointing out that Michael is always working while she pretty much does squat. She suggested that they have to forgive each other before they can move on. Michael countered by recommending they stop dwelling on the past. "I don't know how to move on!" she cried, lamenting that she's lost everything except for him. Frustrated, Michael returned to the hospital, leaving Marcie to finish their fries. Marcie asked Markko how Tommy is doing and Markko said Tommy seems to be doing pretty well. Gigi arrived and joined Marcie, who was now really wallowing in her own self pity. Rex came by and commented that he knew Adriana had just seen Gigi, who was quick to run out rather than discuss her chat with Adriana.
Jared and Natalie debated Clint's tactics. Jared was on Clint's side, but Natalie thought the person they'd just seen was not the father she knows. Jared suggested that sometimes people get stuck doing things that are uncharacteristic for good reasons. "I don't like finding out that people aren't who I think they are," she noted, prompting Jared to realize that she was talking about him and not her father.
Thursday
Jared stroked Natalie's hair and nearly kissed her after pointing out that
she was talking about him pretending to be someone he's not. Clint walked in and announced that they need to go to the Buchanan lodge for a little
business retreat. Jared looked thrilled, but Natalie was clearly unsettled by the idea. Clint told them to get back to whatever they were doing. Natalie whispered to Jared, "We weren't doing anything." Nigel's arrival saved her from further discussing the issue. Once she was gone from the room, Nigel reminded Jared what he stood to lose by having their scheme revealed, but admitted that Jared was more worthy of the Buchanan name than
David Vickers.
Viki stopped by the offices of BE and ran into Charlie, who mentioned that
he felt Clint was taking an awfully personal business interest in the new
addition. While Charlie was in the meeting, Viki noted to Clint's assistant
the irony of the situation. Clint explained to Charlie that he has a special interest in the project because they're in the process of buying another company and it will help with the transition. Clint also warned Charlie that Viki is very special to the Buchanans and he doesn't like to see her get hurt. Charlie assured Clint that he has nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, Natalie ran into Viki, who seemed really happy to be with Charlie. "Honestly, it's too good to be true," she beamed, not realizing the true weight of her words.
After some afternoon lovemaking, Nash kissed his wife and tried to dispel her fears that he's getting ahead of himself with this new business venture. Nash assured her that the partnership is what's best for their family. Jessica went to grab some photos of Bree that she printed out, but their happy moment was interrupted with a business call. Nash learned that he may need to get to Napa sooner than he planned and phoned Sarah about finishing
their presentation. Jessica received a call from her dad and accepted
Clint's invite for some family time at the lodge. She was forlorn as she
gazed at a photo of her family with Nash and Bree, then agreed with her dad that nothing is more important than family.
At the diner, Blair was thrilled to talk about Capricorn with Antonio, who
was none too pleased when two officers made a joke about him losing his girlfriend. Antonio shrugged it off when he realized they were joking, then picked up the paperwork from Blair. While he and Cristian were talking about the sale, the officers continued to stare, so Antonio barked at them to stop. Cris asked Antonio if he has a problem with John and Talia working together. Antonio argued that this has to do with John and Talia's mutual distrust of Ramsey, who's "done everything by the book." Meanwhile, Blair grilled Markko about Cole's visit the other night. She urged him to talk some sense into Cole, and advised Markko against helping Cole arrange rendezvous for him and Starr. Marrko suggested that Cole may listen to John, so Blair put a call in to the lieutenant.
Meanwhile, Ramsey placed a mysterious call to someone and said he'd come up with the money. John and Talia walked into his office to drop off some paperwork, but he told them to stay and made another veiled threat about John's job. Antonio returned later to find John and Talia in a semi-flirtatious conversation. Talia noticed that something was bothering him but he didn't explain himself. John left to go meet Blair, who wanted John to know about Cole's risky attempt to see Starr. He agreed that what Cole did was stupid, but pointed out that Blair's concern might have more to do with her and Todd than with Cole and Starr.
After his meeting with Clint, Charlie went to see Jared and thanked him for
opening up to him about what happened with his brother and the man who abused them. Jared admitted to being antsy about his charade of posing as a Buchanan. Charlie promised that he would stand by his son no matter what he decides and acknowledged that he, too, hates lying to the woman he loves. "Maybe she'll be able to forgive you," Jared suggested, but Charlie wasn't so sure. Later, Charlie met up with Viki for their date and they kissed in Jared's office, which Clint witnessed. Nigel asked Jared if he was ready, and Jared announced that he was ready "this time."
Jessica went to Cristian's loft to pick up his designs for the vineyard and
spotted an old drawing he'd done of her. "You know, you haven't changed that much," he commented. Meanwhile, Nash complimented Sarah on her beauty over a business meeting. "I'm not going to be put on display for you, Nash," she insisted, but he argued that he didn't mean that at all.
When Ramsey came by Antonio's desk to announce that he'd have the funds
Antonio needs for the Angel Square task force, Talia rolled her eyes as
Antonio expressed his gratitude. Antonio became upset with Talia when she made a remark about it, and their argument escalated when it became about her and John. "The way I see it, John is out to nail someone else!" Antonio shouted, warranting a slap across the face from Talia.
Friday
Nigel, Jared and Natalie arrived at Buchanan Lodge. Jared couldn't help but think about his near kiss with Natalie and gazed in her direction. "If you're gonna make things weird, I'm going to leave," she threatened. That didn't deter Jared, who reminisced about the stars they saw in Texas at Asa's ranch. Nigel took Matthew out to shop for some snacks, which alarmed Natalie. "Alone at last," Jared whispered to himself. Jared really hit the jackpot when Nigel called to announce that he and Matthew were stuck at the bottom of the hill. Suddenly, the lights went out.
Nora agreed to go to the lodge with Clint, but asked if he was sure everything is okay. "I'm sure everything's not," Bo boomed as he walked in. Nora left the brothers Buchanan to spar amongst themselves. Clint asked Bo to summon his detective skills to dig deeper into who else is after BE. Nora returned to say that Matthew had left his laptop at home and she needs to go look for it. Clint suggested that she and Bo ride up to the lodge while Clint finish up some things at the office. Once they were gone, Lindsay came by and commended Clint on a job well done taking over Cobb Industries. When he revealed that Bo and Nora were on their way up to the cabin, Lindsay freaked out and demanded that Clint take her to the lodge with him. The snow really started to come down as Bo and Nora hit the road. Nora told Bo that she senses some tension between him and Clint, but Bo didn't want to talk about it.
A forlorn Starr thought back to her night with Cole while nervously clutching a paper bag. Langston came in and asked if Starr wasn't feeling well since she didn't go to school that day. Starr explained that she's now being home-schooled and complained to Langston about being a prisoner in her own home. Once Langston was gone, Starr picked up the paper bag that was hidden under the bed.
John pointed out that Blair is afraid of her husband, but Blair insisted that her problems with Starr and Cole have nothing to do with her and Todd. She begged John to talk to Cole about staying away from Starr, revealing that Todd knows John took the rap for Cole in the Miles Laurence shooting. He finally agreed and made a call to Cole. Meanwhile, Addie called Todd out on his proclivity to destroy the people he loves. Todd didn't want to hear it and asked how Starr is supposed to learn anything from a woman who goes swimming naked in the freezing Llantano River. Addie continued to hound him about his parenting skills, although she hasn't had much time to learn them herself. "In your heart, you know I'm right," she relented. "You've got to let Starr live her life."
Antonio received a slap in the face from Talia for suggesting that John was out to "nail" someone other than Ramsey. Talia walked out after Antonio said he thinks John and Talia are past the flirting stage. At the diner, Talia ran into John and remarked that she doesn't know what's gotten into Antonio, informing him about Antonio's out-of-line comments at the station. Infuriated, John headed out to set the record straight.
Ramsey asked for Antonio's thoughts on the information John and Talia had gathered on a major drug buy, and sensed that "personal stuff" was getting in the way of work. Antonio assured Ramsey that he has no problem with John and Talia working together. Antonio left Ramsey's office and came face-to-face with John, who wanted to know what beef Antonio has with him. Antonio drew some looks from the other officers when he instructed John to keep his hands off Talia. "Now, I know you lost Marty..." Antonio began, further angering John. Ramsey looked smug after witnessing the whole argument.
Blair returned home to find a sullen Todd in the living room having a drink. "What happened to you?" she asked. He explained that her mother had tried to make him see the error of his ways. Todd acknowledged that his actions toward Starr had harmed their relationship. Blair advised Todd not to let their daughter grow up a prisoner, and he seemed willing to reverse his decision.
Back at the station, Ramsey talked to his mysterious caller again and said he hoped to have the money by next week. Talia returned and tried to talk to Antonio, but he remained cold toward her.
While driving to the lodge, Clint suggested that Lindsay give Bo a heads up about her joining them, but Lindsay didn't think Bo and Nora wanted either of them to show up. Clint argued that Bo and Nora would never hurt them. Lindsay noted that no one can be trusted. Meanwhile, Nora and Bo were enjoying talking about their son when their car suddenly veered off the road. Up at the lodge, Jared and Natalie chatted by the fire over s'mores and champagne. Jared talked about when they first met and suggested that nothing has changed, then gave Natalie a kiss that she couldn't resist.
John returned to the diner to meet with Cole, who reluctantly agreed to stay away from Starr. Meanwhile, Langston walked into Starr's bedroom and startled Starr, who dropped the box. As Starr quickly picked it up, Langston saw that Starr was holding was a pregnancy test kit.
