John shocked the courtroom by announcing that he had just married Blair and
he was now the kids' stepfather. Todd's lawyer protested as Téa showed
documentation that Blair was quite sane when she married John. Todd looked
at Téa with amazement. "The timing is suspect," the judge added as she asked
John if he was trying to circumvent justice. Todd's attorney thought the
marriage was to cause trouble for Todd. "Do you love your wife?" the judge
asked the new groom. Téa asked Todd if he had loved her when they got
married many years ago. Todd said he hadn't loved her. Todd's lawyer
insisted that Blair only married John to keep custody of her children. John
admitted this wasn't the way he had imagined getting married, but when he
saw Blair after she was attacked, he knew he didn't want to lose her. He
admitted to loving his new wife. In the courtroom, Starr listed all the
horrible things Todd had done to her recently. "John McBain...will be a
better father than my father ever was," she stated. The judge returned to
her chambers to think. "Happy now?" Todd asked Téa. "You are still in love
with me," he stated to Téa. The judge announced that custody would remain
with John and Blair. Moments after that was announced, Marty cornered John
in the courtroom. (Marty planned to tell John how she felt about him.)
"Before you say anything, there is something I need to tell you," John said.
"I married Blair."
Blair told Addie that John only married her "so I could keep the kids. John
is still in love with Marty Saybrooke." In flashbacks, we learned that Téa
had proposed to John on Blair's behalf. Blair reminded John that they had
broken up but she said she might say yes to his proposal. John then proposed
and she said yes. Viewers saw a quick sweet wedding, with flowers and
everything. Back in the present, Starr raced into Blair's room with news
that they had won.
Jessica ran into Marty at the diner. She tried to explain her behavior of
last summer and told Marty that her alter Tess was out when Marty was being
held captive by Todd. Jessica tried to remind Marty that they used to be
really good friends. "It's lonely out there," Jessica added. Marty let
Jessica off the hook for keeping her presence at Todd's a secret. Marty
didn't think she was ready to share how she really feels about John to John.
The women gave each other a pep talk about the men they are attracted to.
They agreed they needed to tell them — Jessica to Brody; Marty to John —
that they are interested in them.
After kissing, Dorian slapped Ray. However, they soon began smooching again.
A call from David interrupted them. Dorian lied to him about what she was up
to in Llanview. Téa showed up at Dorian's with news of the courtroom
victory. Téa asked Ray out on a date as Dorian listened intently.
Gigi wept in Brody's arms. She explained they had found a donor in
Australia, but she fell through. There was another donor — "my sister" —
Gigi wept. "But she won't donate," Gigi added. Gigi explained that Stacy
would donate only if Gigi gave up Rex. Gigi gave Brody the details on how
Stacy thought that Gigi had stolen Rex from her. Gigi claimed she couldn't
tell Rex the truth about Stacy's blackmail. "I can't let my son die," Gigi
said. Brody suggested Rex and Gigi stage a breakup. Gigi said that if the
transplant didn't take, Shane would need another transplant and if Stacy
knew the breakup was a fake, she might not give twice. Gigi wondered how she
could ever get Rex to believe she didn't love him anymore. "I would do
anything for Shane," Brody vowed. "You mean that?" asked Gigi, as she began
to concoct a plan. Rex called Gigi's phone and Brody answered. "She's with
me," Brody told him. Rex raced over to Brody's room and caught a naked Gigi
and Brody in bed together.
Stacy visited Shane and Rex in the hospital. Rex made it clear that Stacy
was not welcome at the hospital. Stacy accused Rex of being a lightweight
when it came to drinking. "Maybe I sent you a few mixed signals," Stacy
admitted about the night Gigi caught them in bed. Rex vowed to find the
results of that test after Shane gets better. Rex exploded at Stacy. "Do
you want to tell him we lost the donor, that he could die?" he said.
Tuesday
Cole passed his first urine test. He met his counselor...Schuyler Joplin.
(Oh dear.) Cole brought up Schuyler's kiss with Starr. Schuyler denied that
anything was going on with Starr. Schuyler said Cole could hate him, but
Cole shouldn't take his frustrations out on Starr. Cole denied that he was
an addict. Schuyler shared some of his story with drugs to Cole. Schuyler
accused Cole of being high. "If I wasn't in control, I would have laid you
out," Cole said looking Schuyler directly in the eye. Schuyler stormed out
and left his phone. Starr called Schuyler's phone and Cole picked up. He was
rude to Starr and accused her of having something with Schuyler.
Blair asked Starr how Todd behaved in the courtroom. Blair wanted to talk
about Starr, but she didn't want to discuss it. Blair had learned about
Cole's accident and Matthew's situation. Starr explained that Cole was now
in a drug treatment program. "I feel like I don't even know him anymore,"
Starr admitted. Blair tried to get Starr to open up about the "new guy."
Blair told Starr to go after what or who she wants. "You are a Cramer
woman," Blair reminded her daughter. John visited Blair, who thanked him for
what he did. (Marry her.) He was ready to take on Jack and Sam and Starr.
Blair admitted she was afraid and that whoever hurt her would try to hurt
her kids.
In the courtroom, Marty had to digest the information that John had married
Blair. He explained that it was to keep the kids from Todd. "What did you
want to tell me?" John asked Marty. Marty covered and said that whatever she
wanted to say just went away. (Marty was going to tell John she still has
feelings for him.) Marty was glad that Blair could keep her children. "It
was Téa's idea," John explained. Marty and John talked about what almost
happened between them. John explained that the letters being spelled out by
the killer were that of Todd's fraternity. Someone was watching Marty and
John through a door. Marty urged John to get back to "your new bride." Marty
almost said something else to John, but stopped herself. Marty left a phone
message for Jessica saying she wasn't ready for a relationship.
Jessica left a message for Marty saying she was going to let Brody know how
she feels. Cristian and Jessica sat down for coffee. Jessica was sorry that
things didn't work out between Cris and Sarah. Jessica assured her former
high school boyfriend that all that stuff with Vanessa didn't make him a bad
person. Jessica got coy about the new guy in her life. Cris wanted her to be
happy again.
Cris ran into Layla at the diner. The two began to squabble again. Layla
accused him of being a user. Layla's blind date showed up. Cris told the
date "good luck." The date left, after pointing out that something was going
on between Layla and Cris. They laughed that off.
Rex walked in on Gig and Brody in bed. "What the hell is going on here," he
barked. "What it looks like is what it is. Brody and I slept together," Gigi
told a stunned and shocked Rex. Rex rattled off all the things Brody had
done to him and Shane. Gigi began to cry and tried to explain what had
happened. "Are you kidding me with this?" Rex asked. Gigi admitted that she
had feelings for Brody. "One thing led to another," Gigi said. "You felt
something for the guy who shot me. You are lying. You would not do something
like this unless you were forced to," Rex said. Rex started to hit Brody.
Gigi said that she had taken advantage of Brody. "Gigi, our son has
leukemia," Rex yelled. "I did this for Shane," Gigi wept. Gigi added that
the Rex's test results had come in and he hadn't been drugged, just drunk,
that night with Stacy. Gigi accused Rex of being a cheater and that's also
one of the reasons she turned to Brody. "I can't do this," Gigi wept. "What,
what can't you do?" Rex asked. "I don't trust you," Gigi told Rex as she
rattled off all of Rex's misdeeds." You are not a commitment kind of guy,"
she added. Rex reminded Gigi that he was going back to the hospital to check
on their son — "the one who has leukemia." Brody went in to see Gigi. "I've
just ruined the best thing that ever happened to me," she wept in Brody's
arms.
Jessica showed up at Brody's door. Brody was in the hallway. (Rex and Gigi
were arguing in his room.) Brody and Jessica admitted that they couldn't
stop thinking about the kiss. Jessica confessed that she liked him, as more
than a friend. Rex stormed out of the room and told Brody to stay away from
Gigi and Shane. Jessica saw Gigi wrapped in a sheet. Jessica was clearly
confused. Jessica asked Brody to forget everything she just said.
"Friendship is definitely the way to go," Jessica added as she scurried off.
Shane showed Stacy his latest comic book. Stacy almost told Shane that the
Australian bone donor wasn't a match. Stacy tried to comfort Shane. Roxy
burst in. "Why are you the one who is breaking him the news?"
Roxy asked adding that there was another donor. Roxy dragged Stacy out to
the hall. Stacy assured her that "everyone is going to walk out of this a
winner, well almost everyone." Roxy and Stacy argued. Stacy told Roxy that
if Rex found out
Rex ran into Stacy outside Shane's room. He said he'd just found Gigi in bed
with Brody and rushed into Shane's room. "Nice work, Gigi," Stacy smiled.
Stacy called Gigi and congratulated her. "We didn't sleep together, we just
pretended to," Gigi barked.
Wednesday
Todd chatted up Jackie in steam room and wanted to hire him to kill John.
Jackie laughed that off.
At La Boulaie, John tried to talk to Jack. Jack wasn't that interested in
his new step dad. Jack insisted that Todd would take better care of him and
stormed off. Fish arrived at La Boulaie and learned that John thinks Todd
could have committed the murders. They reviewed Todd's possible motives.
Fish thought it was a serial killer. Kappa Alpha Delta, John explained, was
KAD, the Todd's fraternity. It was also Fish's and Kyle's. Fish suggested
John go to Todd directly. John thought they should just keep an eye on him.
John showed Fish pics of Powell Lord and Zach Rosen. Moments later, we saw
Zach watching Todd in Capricorn.
Jack called Todd and told him he was full of crap. Jack didn't want John to
be his dad. Todd promised that that would never happen.
Téa told Cristian that he was officially divorced from Vanessa. Téa shared
that she wasn't representing Todd anymore and added that she was meeting Ray
for a date.
Dorian learned that Ray had a date at Capricorn with Téa. "Really," Dorian
said. "I don't care what you do," she insisted. Dorian helped Ray with his
cufflinks and the air was so thick with sexual tension you could cut it with
a knife.
Todd showed up at Capricorn and interrupted the conversation between Ray and
Téa. Todd encouraged Ray to "Run Away." Ray wondered if he was with Téa to
make Todd jealous. Téa denied that, but Ray said "it was perfectly alright."
Ray kissed Téa's hand as Dorian interrupted their date. Ray made it clear
that Dorian wasn't welcome at their table. Téa wondered if Ray was trying to
make Dorian jealous. Téa warned Ray about Dorian and suggested that he
do some major damage control. At the bar, Jackie ran into Dorian. She asked
him to kiss her with the hopes of making Ray jealous. Ray saw the kiss.
Nora was frustrated with the contractors when she made arrangements for the
house to be wheelchair accessible. Nora was overjoyed to see Hank at her
door. He offered to help with the renovations of the house. "You are here as
my guest," Nora said as she tried to do ten things at once. Nora told Hank
that Matthew's spinal cord was not severed. "That's hopeful," she said with
a weak smile. Hank reminded her that she held it together during Rachel's
addiction. Nora wept in Hank's arms. Bo came home and was delighted to see
his old pal. Clint wanted to take some of the burdens off of Nora. "What am
I doing wrong?" he asked his girlfriend. Nora apologized for snapping at
Clint. Nora tried to explain that she and Bo "always have to be fine." Clint
was hurt that Nora wasn't turning to him when she has a meltdown. Clint
wanted to take some of the burden off of her, but she said that wasn't
necessary. Clint asked if she wanted him to get "out of your way."
Layla and Talia were in the gym stretching. Layla reported that her recent
internet date was a disaster. Cristian and she had argued and the guy ran
off. Kyle and Fish ran into each other at the gym and clearly had some sort
of past relationship. Fish got a call from John who had some information
about the murders and headed over to La Boulaie. Cris ran into Layla and
they began squabbling again. "I don't need to be ragged on," Cristian said.
Cris walked off and Layla headed after him to continue the argument. Layla
found Cris in the steam room. She pointed out that she thought Cris has
chicken legs and refused to leave the steam room. Cris tried to leave the
room and it appeared that the door was stuck and they were trapped again.
Thursday
Cristian blamed Layla for slamming the door, which resulted in them getting
trapped in the steam room. After unsuccessfully struggling with the door, an
overheated Layla stripped down. She accused Cris of staring at her butt. He
didn't deny it and complimented her on her body. Much to their joint relief,
someone came and unlocked the steam room.
John and Fish went over the details of Marty's long ago rape and the "KAD"
connection, unaware that one of her assailants, Zach, was back in town. The
cops pointed out that while Powell was still in a mental institution, Zach
was recently released from prison. Fish said goodbye to John, and added he
thought he was one of the best cops he had ever worked with.
Brody met Stacy for the first time. He called her on her blackmail scheme
and called her a pathetic skank. "Grow up!" he yelled. Brody threatened to
expose her to Rex but Stacy countered that she'd let Shane die if he gave
her up. Brody called Stacy obsessed and delusional and warned her that he
spoke from experience and knew where she was headed. When Brody told her she
wouldn't be able to get everything she wanted, Stacy just stormed off.
At the hospital, Gigi found Rex asleep on a sofa and deeply regretted the
charade she put on because of Stacy's blackmail demands. "I need to tell you
something," she told Rex as he opened his eyes. She apologized for sleeping
with Brody. "Why did you do it?" Rex asked. "I did it for Shane," Gigi
replied. Rex didn't understand what Gigi was trying to say. "This is killing
me," she cried. "It's just not working. We're over." "Stay with me," Rex
countered. Then, he proposed. "Marry me!" Rex blurted. Gigi kept crying and
Rex told her he knows she still loves him. "What is all this other stuff?"
Rex asked. Gigi insisted it was because she doesn't trust him. "Don't do
this," Rex begged. "We're Rex and Gigi. We're forever," he added. "I can't,"
Gigi sobbed. Rex pulled her in for a big kiss. Gigi pushed herself away and
kept weeping. Rex asked Gigi if she wanted to tell Shane that "his parents
were breaking up." Stacy interrupted Gig and Rex. Once she learned that Gigi
and Rex had broken up, she announced that she was a match. "I can save your
son's life," she said. Rex gave a weak smile. Gigi just looked miserable.
Marty and Jessica discussed their bad luck with men, considering that John
married Blair and Brody slept with Gigi. Marty thought not getting together
with John might be a good thing as she should be focused on Cole. Jessica
and Marty thought it was a nice thing that John married Blair to help her
save her kids.
At Capricorn, Dorian kissed Jackie to make Ray jealous. Ray recognized the
action as a ploy but Dorian denied it. Jackie said she was nuts and walked
away, prompting Ray to laugh. Dorian claimed that she had no interest in Ray
but he wasn't buying her denial. He pointed out their chemistry and said he
wouldn't pursue a married woman — unless she wanted him to. Jackie thought
it was odd that Dorian was kissing him to make Ray jealous, as Dorian had
hired Jackie to kill Ray last year.
On her date with Ray, while he was occupied with Dorian, Todd told Téa that
he wanted her. She asked Todd what he really wanted. Todd said he'd never
let John raise his kids and asked her to expose Blair's marriage as a sham.
In return, he'd be hers. However, Todd was unaware that Zach was in the
establishment spying on him. Just then, Ray returned to Téa and asked if
everything was okay. Zach put his drinks on Todd's tab. When Todd tried to
leave the club, the door man stopped him and let him know he still needed to
pay the bar tab his friend was drinking on. Without missing a beat, Todd
said he had no friends but was curious as to who might have been drinking on
his dime.
Rachael Yamagata sang as many residents of Llanview pondered their futures.
Friday
Gigi told Viki they found a match for Shane — her sister Stacy. Viki
couldn't believe that Gigi broke up with Rex. Viki was shocked that Gigi had
slept with Brody. Viki asked some questions but Gigi wouldn't tell her the
whole truth. "I would do anything for him (Shane)," Gigi said as she wept in
Viki's arms. Gigi played the "I need someone I could trust" tape when she
explained the split. Viki thought it was odd that Gigi was now defending
Stacy, when weeks ago she didn't like her. Viki told Gigi that Rex was her
soul mate and that he was devoted to her and Shane. Gigi cried and told Viki
that she didn't have a choice. Gigi headed to the hospital, leaving Viki
wondering what was really going on. Viki met Mo for coffee and started
asking questions about Gigi, Stacy (who he had never heard of) and Shane. Mo
was stunned to learn that Gigi and Rex had broken up.
Bo was happy for Rex when he said they had found a donor, however Bo
couldn't help but comment that Rex looked miserable, "like you lost your
best friend" Bo said. Rex told Bo all the stuff about Gigi and Brody. Bo
couldn't believe Gigi would turn to Brody. Rex brought Bo up to speed on the
whole Stacy-drugging-him story. Bo said goodbye, but not before insisting
that Rex and Gigi reconcile. Gigi cried when Rex kept pressing her for the
real reason for the breakup.
Stacy told Kyle that she was the perfect match for Shane, but Kyle wasn't so
sure. In fact, he was positive she wasn't.
Cole told Marty about life in rehab, but didn't have much to tell because it
just started. Cole hadn't started therapy yet. Cole knew about John's
marriage. Cole thought Marty still cared for John and told her so. Marty
said John was married now and how she felt didn't matter. Cole left the
diner to find Mr. Joplin. He really didn't want him to be his drug
counselor. John and Jack entered the diner. Jack sat at the counter while
Fish told John and Marty that Zach Rosen had been in Llanview for two
months. "Long enough to do the murders," John said.
John thought it was unusual that Starr knew so much about her teacher,
after she practically rattled off Schuyler's whole life story. Mo hunted for
Jack who had run out of the house. Jack had gone to Todd's office and
demanded that Todd come home. Jack didn't like living with Starr, Grandma,
Aunt Dorian and McPain. Todd laughed and was proud that his son went after
what he wanted. John entered Todd's office and the Manning men stopped
talking. John said he was there to take Jack home. Jack put up a stink but
Todd encouraged him to go with him. John made it clear that he had no desire
to be Jack's father, just to keep an eye on him.
Stacy gleefully told Schuyler that Gigi and Rex broke up. Schuyler
immediately assumed she had something to do with the split. As Stacy applied
eye makeup, Schuyler made it clear that he'd be very disappointed in her if
she had anything to do with Rex and Gigi breaking up. Stacy laughed off that
accusation and headed over to the hospital. Schuyler got a call from Starr
but he sent it to voice mail. Moments later Starr was at his door and saw
that it was open. She tiptoed in. Schuyler came out of the shower wrapped in
a towel. Schuyler insisted she leave and became very agitated. Starr took
off her shirt and made it clear she wanted Schuyler to make love to her.
Starr asked Schuyler to tell her he didn't want her. Schuyler insisted she
put her top back on but she didn't. Meanwhile, Cole headed toward Schuyler's
door.
Zach showed up at Todd's door. "Hi buddy, long time no see," he said to a
very surprised Todd.
