One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of May 12, 2008

Monday

Outside of Viki's guest house (where Gigi now resides), Brody saw Gigi hugging Rex's high school jersey. Shane found "dad" upstairs. In fact, he found a photo of Brody that fell out of a copy of On The Road. Gigi was stunned. Shane wondered if he looked like "my dad." Brody eavesdropped on the entire interaction. Shane went back upstairs when Brody arrived at Gigi's front door.

David saw Jared and Natalie kissing in the diner booth. They wanted the guy at the counter (David, nattily dressed in a hairnet) to take their order. David pretended not to be able speak English. But when Natalie spoke Spanish to him, he knocked over some cutlery and hid under the counter. David dragged Noelle down and the two made a deal to help each other. David listened intently to the lovers' conversation and was quite intrigued when he learned that Jared was not a Buchanan. Natalie and Jared paid for their takeout from the diner and David immediately reappeared. He told Noelle and Moe he was quitting and heading back to Llanview, immediately.

Dorian cornered Langston at the doctor's office. Langston admitted that not only was she not pregnant, but she was a virgin. "Starr is pregnant," Dorian realized. Langston begged Dorian not to spill the beans and explained that Markko was trying to help her protect Starr. Langston apologized for upsetting Dorian and said she'd write the doctor, saying she was sorry for wasting her time. Dorian hoped that Starr wouldn't consider keeping the baby. After more of Langston's apologies, Dorian said she had never been more proud of her new daughter. Langston caught Dorian up on all the events of Starr and Cole. Dorian began to call Blair; she felt Blair should know about Starr's pregnancy.
Langston panicked.

In Virginia Beach, Starr and Cole played at the arcade and seemed for a while to forget their worries. Meanwhile, Blair and John showed a photo of Starr and Cole to Winter, not knowing he knew the runaway teens. Winter didn't know what to say as he noticed Starr and Cole out of the corner of his eye.

Bo took an extremely drunken Rex home and encouraged him to keep drinking water. Bo wanted to know why he crashed Adriana's party. "It's what you do," Rex insisted. Bo kept asking why. Rex said he was there to protect Adriana. Bo reminded him that the only male stripper at Adriana's bachelorette party was Rex. Rex admitted that he had kissed Gigi. Bo urged Rex to make sure he was ready to get married.

Adriana arrived at Dorian's house to spend the night before her wedding there. Adriana explained to Addie that Rex had come to her party to find Gigi. Addie was not convinced. Adriana said that she knows Rex better than any other person and remained certain that Rex was looking for Gigi. Addie tried to comfort her grand-niece, adding that she was going to be a beautiful bride and all her worries would soon be over.

Nash showed Jessica a rave review of one of his wines in a food magazine.

Tuesday

A drunken Rex visited Gigi hours before his wedding. "I had to see your face," he slurred. Gigi didn't want to hear anything Rex had to say. "Nothing's going to change. You're drunk; go home now," Gigi said. Rex admitted to drinking nine boilermakers (!). Gigi begged Rex not "to make me your cold feet. Don't blame me." Rex grabbed Gigi and was about to kiss her when Shane popped down the stairs. "Hey Rex, what are you doing here?" he asked innocently. Shane showed Rex the photo of Brody. "I know this guy — I bumped into him about an hour ago," Rex announced to a stunned Gigi. She reminded Rex that Brody was dead. Adriana called Gigi's home line but Gigi didn't pick up. She demanded Rex leave, and he reluctantly did. Gigi sadly plopped on the couch as Brody watched through the window.

As Brody was lurking outside of Gigi's, he was being harassed by text messages from Adriana. Brody told Adriana that Gigi was busy. Adriana immediately called Rex on their home phone and no one picked up. Panicked, Adriana called Layla and shared her paranoid thoughts. She was convinced that Rex was with Gigi. Adriana declared that she was going over to the loft to make sure Rex was in bed. Adriana arrived at the loft, but there was no Rex in sight. Rex finally came home and said he had gone for a walk. "I didn't want to be hung over for tomorrow," he lied. Rex told Adriana to leave. "The bride and groom shouldn't see each other before the wedding," he remembered. Adriana kept asking questions about his "walk." Adriana pulled him in for a kiss. "I want to make love," she stated, and the two started to. However, apparently things weren't working for Rex, as he was still drunk. Adriana and Rex looked very sad (too sad for a couple about to get married the next day).

At Ultra Violet, Talia and Antonio began kissing passionately in the backroom. Cristian caught them and demanded an explanation. The two hemmed and hawed and Cris left them alone to continue kissing. "Be safe," Cris said as he exited the club. Talia and Antonio exchanged "I love you"s and proceeded to make love in a bed Antonio had put together. Cris dropped in on Sarah and raved about the nachos she had managed to microwave. Sarah showed Cris her new lingerie and the two headed into her bedroom.

At La Boulaie, Markko paid a visit to Langston. Langston told her boyfriend that she was off "getting an abortion." Langston went on to explain that Dorian now knows that Starr is pregnant. The teens were frustrated that they have no way to contact Cole and Starr. They agreed that they were not going to let what happened to Starr happen to them, and they started kissing. Markko and Langston said goodbye with those memorable words — "Goodnight, freak." (Making reference to their song in Prom Night: The Musical.)

Blair, John and Todd cornered Winter — aka Eugene Silverstein — on the boardwalk. Todd threatened to "beat the crap" out of him if he didn't tell him where Starr and Cole were. "What are you doing here, Todd?" Blair demanded. Winter didn't think he had seen them. Blair told Todd to cool it. Todd told his wife that he'd talked to Starr and then walked off with Winter. John followed. Todd told Blair about the pre-paid phone and that he told Starr she could now see Cole. Todd added that despite his loosening of the rules, Starr was still not returning home. John, exasperated, walked off. "Why are you so mad at me?" Todd barked at his wife. "You want a list?" Blair replied. John bought a hot dog for Winter. "That's still not going to make me remember anything," he said. John explained that Todd was a little nuts. John asked that they start over and that "you tell me the truth." Winter said he never met anyone named Cole or Starr. John said he knew them. Winter exited. John immediately called someone for an ID and credit check on Winter and Eugene Silverstein. Blair and Todd yelled at each other all through the amusement park. "I want you to grow up and it looks like it's never going to happen," she railed. Todd, John and Blair checked into a motel. Blair wanted her own room. Todd began to argue, but backed down. Blair apologized for bringing John into all this. Blair couldn't get cell phone service, which is why she hadn't gotten Dorian "Call me now" message. John assured Blair that they would find the teens.

Wednesday

David paid Viki a pop-in visit and caught Charlie and Viki in a kiss. David reported he's been working at the Bon Jour Café, a bit of news that bowled Viki over. "You've been working?" she asked incredulously. Viki told David all about Jared being a Buchanan and that he passed all the DNA tests. Viki thought David was there for Adriana's wedding. "Yup, that's it," he gulped.

Jared didn't know how he could keep away from Natalie once they returned to Llanview. They ran into Bo and caught him up on Buchanan business. Nigel warned them to be careful because there would be trouble if they were caught kissing. David arrived at the mansion and said, after giving Jared the once over, "So this is the long lost Buchanan heir." David, of course, knows that Jared is actually NOT the heir, and made it clear that he knows "everything." Jared and Natalie exchanged nervous glances.

A very hungover Rex apologized for not being able to perform in bed the previous evening. "That's okay. We have our entire lifetime," Adriana reassured him. Rex hoped that he hadn't done a striptease in front of everyone at Ultra Violet. Unfortunately, Roxy confirmed that he had indeed done just that. Adriana headed out to get ready for the wedding. Roxy demanded some time. "I've got something very important to tell you...I am so proud of how you turned out," she said, tearing up. "I couldn't be a loser if I gave birth to you," she concluded. Rex told his mom that he loves her too. Matthew and Bo came by to pick Rex up, but he wasn't ready. Bo reminded Rex that he shouldn't have any doubts before getting married. "What are you telling me?" Rex asked. "That I shouldn't be getting married?" Bo assured his friend that getting married was a wonderful thing and it's great to make a commitment to someone, "especially if you are trying to have kids. Balsom, is something bothering you?" he asked. Rex said no and then started to write his vows, but couldn't get anywhere. Charlie left a message for Rex that he managed to get a ride with Viki to the wedding. Rex started to get dressed and then began a dialogue with himself in the mirror. Mirror Rex kept asking what would happen when he would run into Gigi on the street. Rex assured Mirror Rex that he would know exactly what to say to Adriana at the altar when "I look into her eyes."

Adriana checked in on Brody, who explained that he had seen Rex at Gigi's house last night. Adriana's face fell. Brody explained that nothing happened and Gigi had thrown Rex out. Adriana asked why he hadn't barged in. "I didn't go in because Gigi was crying," Brody explained. "Over Rex," Adriana said. Brody dropped by Gigi's house to find the phone ringing and no one home. He picked up the photo taken years ago of himself with Gigi.

Matthew looked through some family photo albums and asked who Little Richard was. "The architect of rock 'n' roll," Bo told his son. They looked at photos of Bo and Nora's nuptials. Matthew wished it had lasted. "I'm okay about it now," he said. "It just seems no one stays married, so what's the point of getting married?" he asked.

Shane showed his mom a photo he'd framed of his father. He saw that his mother was sad. Marcie dropped in and found Gigi all dressed for the wedding. She also found the pic of Brody. Gigi admitted that Rex was Shane's father. She continued to explain why she hadn't told Rex — "He left!" — that Brody had wanted her but had been killed, so she created the story so Shane would have a father in his mind. Marcie pleaded with her to tell Rex and Shane the truth. Gigi begged her not to tell anyone the truth. Marcie said that Shane would never forgive her if he eventually learned she had kept him from knowing his father, and added that Rex would be a terrific dad. Shane started coughing and then began to have an asthma attack. They raced over to Viki's to find his inhaler. Rex was at Viki's looking for Charlie (he didn't get the message) when he ran into Gigi and a wheezing Shane.

Thursday

David made it clear to Natalie and Jared that he knows Jared isn't a real Buchanan. Natalie and Jared wondered if David knew that he's actually the Buchanan. David told them he would want money to stay quiet and was stunned that they didn't see a simple act of blackmail when it hit them. Natalie explained that David had wanted $10 million dollars to donate a liver to Jessica. That wasn't the same thing, David insisted; it wasn't a life and death situation. It was just money. Natalie had to leave to go to the wedding. "Natalie, aren't you going to kiss Uncle Jared goodbye?" David wheedled. The two shared a whopper of a smooch as David watched intently. Jared told David that the money would not be lasting long, as they were planning to announce the truth about Jared sooner than later. A frazzled Natalie arrived at the church with her bridesmaid dress.

At the church, Matthew, Bo and Charlie started looking for Rex. The men tried to stay cool. Talia and Antonio tried for a quickie but were caught and reprimanded by the minister. Later, Bo and everyone grew concerned as Rex was not anywhere to be found.

In the bridal party dressing room, all the ladies were getting dressed except Adriana, who was focused on her cell phone. Roxy crashed in with her all makeup stuff worrying Dorian that she'd mess up everyone's hair.

Adriana called Brody who reported that no one was at Gigi's house and "it looked as if they left fast." Adriana begged Dorian to help her be happy "just for today." Dorian headed over to Gigi's to see what she could do.

Rex helped Gigi hunt for Shane's inhaler. Shane fell to the floor. Rex and Gigi rushed him to the hospital. Rex refused to leave to go to his wedding.
"This is where I belong now," he said adamantly, causing Gigi to love him even more.

Brody looked at the photo of him and Gigi and decided to shave his beard.
Dorian surprised him at Gigi's and told him what he was going to do. Dorian offered to pay Brody double if he would return to Michigan. "You want Gigi to stop that wedding. You don't want your daughter to marry Balsom," Brody surmised. Dorian agreed. "Gigi was meant to stop that wedding. Do we understand each other?" Dorian asked. She added that Rex wasn't the right man for her daughter.

A queasy Starr watched Cole unpack groceries and then ran to throw up. Starr wept in Cole's arms. "I want my mother," she cried. Starr and Cole talked about their moms — that Cole had lost his and that Starr had left hers.

On the boardwalk, Blair began putting up flyers. Blair tormented Todd by saying she and John made passionate love all night. (They hadn't.) Blair and Todd started squabbling and all three of them headed out in different directions. John found Winter and asked him some questions, reminding him he has a juvie record. Winter confirmed that he knows where Starr and Cole are. Todd gave him a wad of cash and Winter immediately told them they were working at a restaurant. Todd ran off and found the restaurant owner, who didn't have a clue as to who those two kids were. Winter had sent Todd off on a wild goose chase and then pointed John and Blair in the direction of where the kids were actually living.

Friday

Roxy preferred to sit with Viki on her side of the church. "I'm a little ferklempt," she admitted. Charlie told Viki that Rex was a no-show at the wedding. Charlie took the blame for having a conversation about Gigi with Rex. Viki assured him that Rex was just late. Charlie was going to see if Rex was at Viki's place. Marcie wondered if everything was all right and immediately place a call to Gigi, asking if she had told Rex he is Shane's father.
Dorian charged into the groomsmen's room and asked where Rex was. She told Bo that he better prepare an announcement that the wedding must be called off. Charlie reported that Rex was not at Viki's house. Dorian demanded that Bo call off the wedding.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Rex and Gigi almost kissed. Michael interrupted them and gave them a new prescription for Shane. Shane said if he had a dad, then he wouldn't be such a burden to his mother. "I don't need anyone but you," Gigi assured her son. Michael praised Rex for having done such a good job taking care of Shane. Michael assured him that he didn't think there was anything between Rex and Gigi. "Maybe you are not facing up to the truth," Michael said. Shane asked Rex if he wasn't marrying Adriana after all. Rex looked at Gigi. Gigi and Rex had a sad conversation outside of Shane's room. Gigi said it was a good thing that the church was only a few blocks away. Rex headed out to the church. Gigi pulled herself together and tried not to cry outside of Shane's room. Michael said there was no reason Shane couldn't go to the wedding. "As long as he stays off the dance floor," Michael said. Shane asked his mother to leave so he could get dressed. Michael wondered if Gigi really didn't want to go to Rex's wedding.

Bo told Adriana that they couldn't find Rex. "He's with her," Adriana snapped. The bridesmaids and Dorian tried to calm the bride down. Dorian told her daughter to keep taking deep breaths. She lied to Adriana about how she managed to get through to Brody.

A few moments later, Rex charged into the church. "Sorry I'm late," he said. "I'm sure Adriana will be so relieved," Dorian said cynically. Bo told Rex that everyone was starting to worry. "Do they have a reason?" he asked his buddy. Rex assured him they did not.

As the bridesmaids surrounded Adriana, Layla reported that Gigi and Shane weren't there yet, and she hadn't seen Brody, either. Dorian burst in with news that Rex was there. "He was doing some heroic good deed," Dorian added. The bridesmaids headed out. "I'm going to be Mrs. Rex Balsom," Adriana mused. She apologized for not treated her mother very well recently.

In the foyer of the church, Gigi told Dorian that she was invited by Adriana. "I know that you are in love with Rex, and I know that your son is Rex's child," Dorian told a terrified Gigi. Dorian implored her to tell the truth. "You want me to stop this wedding?" Gigi asked. Dorian pointed out that Adriana needs someone who is "entirely devoted to her. Rex is not that man." Gigi said she wouldn't use Shane to come between Rex and Adriana. "Rex deserves to know the truth and that is up to you," Dorian said.

Finally, the wedding began. The bridesmaids walked into place and Rex made it to the altar, but not before stopping and looking at Shane and Gigi.
A stunning Adriana walked unescorted down the aisle, trying very hard to smile. At the altar, Adriana tried to find Brody among the guests, but couldn't. The minister made the customary "if anyone has just cause that this man and woman should not be married..." remark.

At the bus station, Brody looked at the photo taken of him and Gigi, and had a flashback of when a pregnant Gigi said good-bye to him 10 years ago. He remembered their final conversation, when Brody told her he loved her. After much thinking, Brody raced from the bus station, leaving the photo behind.

Cole read Starr excerpts from a "what to expect" baby book. Blair and John were outside of a door. "This is where Winter said Starr and Cole would be,"
Blair said. John knocked on the door, then broke through the door...but they found the wrong kids. Cole saw that John and Blair were outside in the hall and immediately told Starr. The teens ran on to the boardwalk and saw the flyer with their pictures on it. John and Blair got into Cole and Starr's room and realized they had just left. John found a pregnancy pamphlet and figured it all out. John pocketed the pamphlet.

Cole said they had to leave town right away. Todd saw the kids and cried out, "Starr!" The teens turned around and began running. John saw the kids running away from Todd. Starr needed to catch her breath. The kids were cornered by Todd. "It's okay. I'll take you home now," Todd told his daughter. Starr and Cole continued to run. Todd caught up to Cole and began punching him. Starr tried to break it up and Todd accidentally pushed Starr down the stairs. Blair and John watched in horror as she tumbled down.
