OLTL Week of May 18, 2009
Monday
As Cole walked Starr up to Todd's front door, she admitted to having a feeling that everything was about to change. Inside, they were both shocked and disturbed to find Kyle, who lied that he works for a babysitting service. His story didn't exactly convince Cole, who told Starr to go upstairs and make sure her brothers are okay.
Natalie and Jared returned home from their quickie wedding and expressed their fears over things to come. Brody pressed his luck by stealing a few more kisses before Jessica dismissed her secret lover. Upstairs, Rebecca crept into Chloe's nursery and told the baby that she's in the wrong house. Jared carried Natalie over the threshold and came face-to-face with Brody. The newlyweds demanded to know what he was doing there so late. Jessica, meanwhile, went upstairs to check on a colicky Chloe and asked what woke her up, unaware that Rebecca was hiding behind the door. Jessica came back downstairs and was forced to confess to her sister and Jared that she's dating Brody. Natalie nearly slipped about the baby when she expressed her concern for Jessica's mental state but the subject was successfully altered when Jess noticed Natalie's wedding ring.
John's hallucinated pal Pete (his father's former partner) guided him as he attempted to drive while Botoxicated. Pete prompted him to figure out where Powell might have brought Marty. John suspected that Kyle might have an idea, and phoned Rebecca's brother, just as Fish arrived at Todd's house. Starr came back downstairs with Jack, who was too scared to speak. Kyle was backed into a corner. John arrived and tried to get through to Jack by showing him photos of Rebecca and Powell. Jack recognized them and revealed that Powell took Blair, Todd and Téa somewhere.
Powell forced Blair and Téa into the basement at the frat house, and when Téa tried to run back upstairs, Powell fired a gun at her. Téa began to scream and tumbled down the stairs. She was only shot in the arm. Powell knocked the valve off the boiler and left the two women to die there. Blair stuffed a towel into the opening of the boiler, then boosted a reluctant Téa up to the window. Both women fell on top of each other, but Blair insisted that they try it again. When Téa fell down a second time and passed out, Blair yelled at her to wake up. Téa came to and was nearly as hysterical as Blair, who was desperate to get out of there for her children's sake.
Meanwhile, Marty started to have memories of the night she was raped in Kevin's room. “I remember you raping me right here,” she whispered to Todd. She described what she was seeing and he asked her various questions to help jog her memory. She remembered Todd awkwardly approaching the bed, and afterward, she was too traumatized to move. Todd urged her to continue searching her mind so that she could recall the good things, too. She reminisced about the fairytale-like romance she had with Patrick and giving birth to Cole.
Rebecca arrived at the KAD house with Chloe and told Powell that there's a very special reason why the baby is there. Back at Llanfair, Jessica suddenly had a flash of saying “Why aren't you crying, baby?” at the cottage, so she ran upstairs to check on Chloe, only to find her crib empty. Back at the KAD house, Powell brought the baby to a stunned Marty.
Tuesday
Téa and Blair started to get a little loopy as gas filled the basement, but Blair was certain John would rescue them. Téa accused Blair of being jealous of her relationship with Todd. Blair insisted that she's with John, but Téa pointed out that Blair's not in love with him. John, meanwhile, questioned Jack about his parents' disappearance. When Jack mentioned the invitations they received, John sprang to action, leaving Cole to take care of Jack and Sam. Cole assured Jack that he was a hero and a good brother. Starr gave Cole a sweet look for making her little brother feel better, and the three of them cuddled up on the couch.
Natalie and Jared responded to Jessica's screams from the bedroom. She was hysterical upon discovering that her child was gone, and everyone searched the house to no avail. Bo arrived on the scene and questioned Jessica about who might have access to the house or might have something to gain by taking Chloe. Under her breath, Natalie asked Jared if she thought Kyle could have done this. They decided to speak up, and Jessica jumped all over Natalie when she suggested she knows who took the tot. Jess begged to know why Kyle would take her baby, then took off for the police station upon hearing that Kyle was in custody. Viki, Clint and Charlie went to follow them — until Natalie stopped them. They were stunned to hear that Kyle has proof that Chloe is not Jessica's daughter. On the way to the PD, Jessica continued to have flashes of giving birth at the cottage.
Todd asked Powell what he's doing with Jessica's baby. "What makes you think this is Jessica's baby?" Powell responded. He quoted some Shakespeare then asked if either of them can guess who Chloe really is. Todd insisted that Chloe is his sister's granddaughter, but Powell stated otherwise, introducing Chloe as Todd and Marty's granddaughter. Powell explained that he concluded that one of Jessica's alters took the baby and switched it with Starr's. He even brought up Todd's plan to steal the baby and reminded Todd that he can never erase his past, including what happened in that room. Todd pleaded with Powell not to hurt the child or use her to get back at him. "Nobody can be saved," Powell declared, but Marty tried to correct him. She claimed that Powell helped her because she got her memory back. She managed to get through to him, and he handed over the child. When he caught Todd mouthing the words "thank you" to Marty, he suddenly became irate and attacked Todd.
While sneaking around the KAD house, John was knocked out by a rock, thanks to Rebecca. While Rebecca hovered over him with a syringe, he suddenly reached out for her arm. They struggled over the syringe, and John won, stabbing her with it. Meanwhile, Téa and Blair became sleepier over the gas, and ended up admitting that Todd is the love of their lives. Fearing she was going to die, Téa turned to Blair and revealed that there's one more secret she has to share. Upstairs, John entered the room to find Powell leaning over Todd with a knife. He shot Powell in the back, and Powell slumped over his cousin.
Wednesday
Rex woke up from a nightmare in which Gigi left him and rolled over to face his sweetheart. But when Shane walked in complaining of a tummy ache, Rex realized he'd been dreaming. Rex wanted to call Gigi before taking Shane to the hospital, but Stacy begged him not to. Rex ignored her advice and met Gigi at the hospital. When Stacy suggested that Shane has the same bug she suffered from earlier that night, Gigi thought back to tainting Stacy's food. The ER doctor came out and informed Rex and Gigi that Shane ate too much junk food and will be fine. Rex admitted to overreacting and apologized for waking Gigi.
At the frat house, John checked to make sure Powell wasn't breathing before he untied Todd from the bed. He asked Marty where Powell took Téa and Blair. Marty didn't know, but recalled that Powell had said something about Chloe really being Starr's child.
Natalie and Jared explained to Viki, Clint and Charlie that Kyle was blackmailing them because he has proof that Chloe isn't Jessica's daughter. She revealed that Jessica's baby died at birth, but Clint and Viki didn't understand how that was possible since they found Jessica with her at the cottage. They were blown away by Natalie's claim that Bess drove to the hospital and swapped her stillborn baby for a healthy one. Natalie explained that they saw Bess on a surveillance video and once they figured out the truth, they decided to protect Jessica.
In the car on the way to the police station, Jessica had flashbacks of being Bess. When Brody noticed that she was in distress, she revealed that she recalled Bess walking out of the cottage with her baby and driving off. Nevertheless, Jessica insisted that she'd be fine and they continue on to the station. But when Jessica suddenly passed out, Brody rerouted to the hospital. Once Jessica was admitted, Brody called Viki to let her know what happened.
Certain that she was about to die, Téa leaned over and was about to tell Blair her deepest, darkest secret when Blair passed out. "I hate you, but I wish you didn't have to die this way," Téa sobbed. She said she wished Todd could be there, even if Blair is the only one he ever loved. John insisted that Todd and Marty head to the hospital with the baby while he searched for Blair and Téa. He followed the smell of gas to the boiler room and made a 911 call after finding the women. Meanwhile, Rebecca came to and called out for Powell. John rushed back into the boiler room and carried Blair out. He went back in for Téa and when he lifted her up, he turned to face Rebecca blocking the door. Crazy Rebecca lit a match. "No!" John screamed as the room lit up.
In the car, Marty marveled at how it took spending time in captivity with Todd for her to regain her memories, calling it a "sick joke." Todd changed the subject, wondering if the baby really could be their grandchild. Neither of them knew what to do about Powell's claim. When they got to the hospital, they found Viki and Clint in the waiting room. When Jessica heard Viki cry out, "Chloe!" she came running from a nearby room and reunited with the child, while everyone exchanged nervous looks.
Thursday
After the boiler exploded, Blair started to stir. John lifted some of the
debris off of himself and heard Blair calling out to him. He cleared a path
to Blair and assured her that Powell is dead and her children are safe. They
suddenly realized that Téa was lying underneath rubble far across the room.
The paramedics arrived, and John helped them remove the debris that covered
Téa. Blair tearfully asked if Téa was going to make it. The paramedics
wheeled her out on a stretcher, while Bo asked John what happened to
Rebecca. John guessed that she'd been caught in the explosion, so Bo send
the CSI techs to search the scene.
Rex agreed to let Gigi bring Shane home, so they took Shane to the loft to
get his things. Stacy tried to make Gigi out to be the bad guy, reassuring
Rex that he's a good father and knows what's best for Shane.
Marcie and Michael came by Todd's to check on Starr and Cole. Michael had
gotten the preliminary test results from Hope's remains. He explained that
the lab had to run tests on the remains first to make sure they were
examining the right baby, but what they discovered was that the baby they
exhumed wasn't Hope. Cole was frustrated, wondering if their baby had been
buried at the wrong cemetery, but Starr wanted to believe that this meant
Hope was really alive. Starr admitted that she'd never truly believed that
Hope was gone. She asked Cole if he ever feels like Hope is out there
waiting, but he wouldn't consider the possibility.
Jessica rushed out of her hospital room to hold Chloe. While she promised
the child that she'd never let anyone take her away again, everyone but
Brody looked concerned. Clint and Viki insisted that Jessica have her head
examined, and Jessica snapped at Marty when she suggested that the baby get
an exam, too. Jessica shot Marty an accusatory look and asked if she and
Todd took the baby. Todd explained that it was their crazy cousin Powell who
took Chloe, which confused Jessica. Brody accompanied Jess while the doctor
examined Chloe. Todd asked to speak with Viki alone, and told her what
Powell said about Jessica's baby. Viki explained that Chloe is Starr's baby.
Todd was selfishly relieved to realize that he hadn't caused his daughter to
lose her child. Marty and Todd went to his place to share the news, and
Cole and Starr rushed into their parents' arms. Marty announced that they
need to sit down and talk about something. "It's complicated," Todd added.
Jessica insisted to the doctor that she and Chloe are fine and refused to
let him examine the child. She snapped at the doctor when he wanted to take
Chloe, and saw Bess in the mirror telling her to be quiet. The doctor
alerted Brody, who came in to check on Jessica. In the hallway, Viki and
Clint wondered how they were going to get Chloe away from Jessica, so they
went to tell Jess that she needs a CAT scan. Viki asked Jessica to hand over
Chloe, and Jess suddenly remembered more from the night Chloe was born. She
wouldn't let anyone hold Chloe, asking why everyone was trying to take her
child away from her. When she was alone with Brody, she was overwhelmed by
more memories and asked him to get her a glass of water. Slowly, she reached
over to a pair of glasses that the doctor left behind. Meanwhile, Brody
alerted Viki and Clint that Jessica just wasn't herself. When they went to
check on her, Jessica was already gone. In a red car on a country road,
"Bess" was singing to Chloe in the backseat.
Friday
In the car on the way over to Todd's house, Blair thought back to her and
Téa's private confessions and expressed her concern for Téa. John revealed
that Powell had brought Jessica's baby to Marty and Todd and claimed she's
really their grandchild. Blair was quick to assume the story was made up.
John wondered what Blair had been doing at Todd's in the first place, and
she explained that she was keeping an eye on her kids. Blair proposed that
they talk about their marriage, but John said they had enough on their plate
right now.
Kyle insisted to Bo that he's not a killer. When Kyle asked to talk to his
sister, Bo was forced to tell him that his sister, Rebecca, is dead. He
explained that Rebecca had been helping KAD rapist Powell, who was
responsible for the killings. Kyle was silent as he listened to the horrible
tale. When Fish finally agreed to let him make one call, Kyle phoned Stacy
in private and informed her that it's time for her to pay him back.
Marty and Todd were about to tell Starr and Cole something major when Cole
mentioned that they know something about their baby. Their conversation was
interrupted when Blair called Todd to let him know that Téa is in critical
condition. Todd took off for the hospital, leaving Marty to share her good
news with Cole that she has her memory back. She put her hands on his face
and smiled as she recalled the day he was born. Starr watched from the door,
then ran into her mother's arms when she saw Blair and John arrive. Marty
asked for a moment alone with the adults, and filled Blair in on what she
knows about the baby. Blair bought the story and was totally thrilled ‹
until John found out that Jessica kidnapped the baby. Sam and Jack came
running in to reunite with Blair, and Jack wanted to know how "Naked Lady"
was doing. Blair said they need to keep Téa in their prayers. At the
hospital, Todd apologized to an unresponsive Téa for putting her in this
mess. Michael and his team rushed in and announced that she's ready for
surgery.
Brody described Jessica's behavior to Viki and Clint, and Viki knew what was
up. It all added up: Bess came back to keep them from taking Chloe.
Meanwhile, Bess drove farther away from Llanview and promised Chloe that she
and Jessica would never be separated. Jessica's phone kept ringing, but Bess
ignored it. When she saw that Brody was calling, however, she finally
answered and suddenly reverted to a very confused Jessica. She followed his
instructions to pull over and asked Brody why Bess would take the baby. When
she flashed back to giving birth again, Bess returned and put the eyeglasses
back on, telling Viki to let it go.
Stacy pretended to look at apartments on Rex's computer but she was really
browsing cosmetics. She managed to get him to agree to let her stay for as
long as she needs. Although she claimed to have no money, we later saw Stacy
stuffing sacks of cash into a bag during a musical montage. At Todd's, Marty
and Cole caught up over snacks and Starr and Blair enjoyed a reunion with
the kids, while John looked at them with a satisfied smile.
