Gigi reported to Brody that Rex was doing really well and that "he wants to make sure that you don't get put in prison." Brody was surprised and made it clear that he hadn't asked his pal Wes to put in a good word for him. Gigi added that she doesn't want Shane to see Brody go to prison. Gigi gave Brody back the money he had turned over to Gigi for Shane. Gigi wanted Shane's memories of Brody to be happy again.
Rex visited Bo at the station. Bo was delighted to see his young friend. Rex didn't want to make a statement regarding Brody's shooting him. "I'm not looking for revenge," Rex explained. Bo reminded him that Brody had broken a few laws. Rex didn't think it was fair that Brody fought for his country and "now had a head full of crazy dreams." Nora thought Rex should press charges. Bo suggested she "plead Lovett out" and Brody might be able to go to a psychiatric institution. Bo thought they should follow their gut and do
the right thing for Lovett.
Nora offered Brody the option to go to a psychiatric institute and added that he'd have to be there until a court-appointed psychiatrist said he was well. Brody thanked Nora, Rex and Gigi, and signed the commitment papers.
Marty found John at the Buchanan's door. "Last time I saw you, you were in handcuffs," Marty said. John was checking to see how she was. Marty told John about the dreams she had had about him and said she had never been afraid of him while she was sleeping. Marty went on to beat up on herself
for not having questioned Todd more. John tried to tell her to lighten up. "He needs a real mother now," Marty said commenting on all the sadness Cole was going through. "He's a stranger to me and it's killing him," Marty added. "The only memories I have are with Todd. I hate that." John did his best to remind her that no one has forgotten her. "I disgust myself," Marty said. John assured her that all her
bad memories would be pushed aside by the good people she has in her life. John gave her the photo he had carried of the two of them. Marty thanked John for saving her from Todd. John left and Marty looked at photos of herself with Cole and with John.
Dorian was making a mess in her kitchen. Cole came by wanting to visit Starr. A sad Starr found the DVD she had made for her baby. Dorian didn't want to disturb Starr, but let Cole come into the kitchen and wait for her. Cole saw the newspaper article about his mother and Todd. "That rag has
really gone downhill," Dorian said. Cole told Starr how hard he had tried to get his mom to remember him. Cole thanked Starr for helping him get through the past year without Marty. "And now she's not dead," Cole said incredulously. "I saw the van blow up over and over again." Starr said sadly, "I can't believe my dad did that horrible thing to your mom." Starr told Cole about Todd's plan to steal their baby. Starr showed Cole the locket with the lock of Hope's hair and told him about the DVD she had made for their baby to watch when he or she was 16.
Blair told Dorian she thought John had gone to visit Marty. Dorian didn't want Blair to give up on John. Blair didn't know what she was going to do. "He just rescued the woman," Blair said. "John can erase all of Marty's bad
memories of Todd...because he did that for me." Blair was certain she could say goodbye to John. Blair fell into John's arms when he came to the kitchen door.
Tuesday
Thanksgiving began in Llanview.
Tina showed up at Sarah's door to say goodbye. Sarah insisted her mother tell her "what you've done." Instead of answering her question, Tina gave Sarah one of David Vickers' puppies. "I love you mom," Sarah wept while cradling the puppy. "I love you," Tina said. "I never was very good at saying goodbye," Tina added. At Layla's suggestion, Sarah named her puppy Christian Vega.
A scantily-clad Vanessa said Happy Thanksgiving to a shirtless Cristian. Vanessa asked if Sarah was unhappy with their (Vanessa and Cristian's) current living arrangement. Cris didn't think it bothered his girlfriend. Lola bounced downstairs and wanted to wish her cousin Langston a Happy
Thanksgiving. Langston promptly invited her over to Dorian's for turkey. Nora came by with good news — the charges against Vanessa had been dropped. However, Vanessa's half second of joy came to an abrupt halt when Nora added that Vanessa would be deported. Cristian asked if this could be fought. Nora said that was possible and added that they had a little time as the holidays were coming. "I can't go back there," Vanessa cried and fell into Cristian's
arms. A split second later Sarah walked in and saw their embrace.
Nora brought Brody to St. Ann's. The vet thanked Nora for keeping him out of prison. Wes, Rex and Gigi surprised Brody before he was taken to his room. Rex and Brody had a awkward moment in the living area. Brody explained that
he and Wes would have died for each other. Rex didn't know if he could be that brave. "I would be proud to serve next to you," Brody told Rex. Rex was touched by that remark. "You don't owe me anything," Brody said. "No, but I owe Shane," Rex said as he looked at Shane and Gigi standing at the door.
"He shouldn't be here," Brody said. "Well he insisted," Gigi explained. Gigi and Rex backed away as Shane and Brody talked. "This place isn't so bad," Shane said as the two started to play a game of checkers. Brody went to touch Shane's head but froze when he imagined the young Iraqi boy he had
shot. Wes asked if everything was okay. Brody introduced Shane to Wes who explained that Brody was a great soldier. Brody confided to Wes that he sometimes "sees stuff." Wes assured his buddy that things would get better.
Clint, Viki and Natalie dropped by the hospital to escort an emotionally drained Jessica to St. Ann's. Viki insisted that Jessica "say goodbye to your daughters first." Jessica — and Clint, Viki and Natalie — started to cry as Jessica said goodbye to little Bree. Jessica vowed to return home soon. Viki brought in Jessica's new baby. Tina looked into Jessica's
hospital room and saw the happy family scene. Jessica named her baby Chloe. Everyone approved. Jessica started to cry as Viki took her daughters away. Jessica wept in Natalie's arms.
Tina met up with doggie David Vickers in the Lord Mausoleum. She had a few choice words for her father. "Cold in there? Good," she said angrily. She channeled Scarlett O'Hara as she vowed to lead a much better life from now on. "But you have not seen the last of Tina Lord Roberts, that I can promise you," Tina declared as she left town.
Wednesday
Blair beat John at poker. Blair asked him for details about his run-in with the mayor. Blair reenacted what she had seen on television. John explained he had wanted to leave the job "on my own terms." He shared that the system failed him. "You mean it failed Marty," Blair said. John admitted that he had just been to visit Marty and reported that she was lonely and "pretty pissed off." "She should be," Blair replied.
Sarah walked in on Cristian and Vanessa embracing. "Must be laundry day, eh Vanessa," Sarah quipped. "What is so bad about going back to Colombia?" Sarah asked. Vanessa predicted Ray would come after her. Cris accused Sarah of being jealous. "She was climbing all over you half naked," Sarah said angrily. "She needs my help," Cris said. "Is that what you call it," Sarah countered. "I miss my boyfriend," Sarah sighed as she brought Cris up to speed on the sudden exit of her mother. Sarah stormed out.
Rex was hurt that Shane didn't want to play catch. "I just wish he'd let me in," Rex said. Charlie showed up looking for Viki. Charlie said he'd keep looking for her on the grounds. Gigi and Charlie had a cryptic conversation about something. Gigi just smiled when Rex asked for details. Gigi begged Rex to give his relationship with Shane some time and not feel threatened by Brody. "He's in a mental institution," she reminded him. It seemed to work as Shane begged to join Rex at the Buchanans.
An enraged Viki visited daddy Victor's crypt in the Lord Mausoleum. She wept about history repeating itself as she told him about what had happened to Jessica, thanks to him. "I'm going to end it," she declared. "This grand monument that you built to your vanity...I'm going to tear it down," she continued as she held a crowbar. Viki started to destroy his crypt. "I am wiping you out of my life and my past and my memory," she stated. "Why did I have to fix everything," she sobbed hysterically. Charlie walked in. Viki begged Charlie to leave, but he refused. "You didn't walk out on me and I'm not going to walk out on you," he insisted. "I hate my father. Want to know why?" she asked. Viki tried to explain that when they first met things had been simple, but now that she's back in Llanview — Todd was going to jail, Jessica was in a mental institution and Viki had just thrown her sister out. Charlie reached out to touch her. "I'm not going anywhere," he said. "My father raped me when I was seven years old...and my mind split," Viki sobbed as she started to tell Charlie her life story. Charlie held her tight. Charlie noticed that the walls looked like Indiana Limestone and said he could help tear down the building. "It won't change anything," she said. "It would change the landscape," Charlie assured her. "I see you as a survivor like I am," Charlie continued. He reminded her lovingly that they only have today and "it's what we do right now that counts." He reached his hand to her but she wouldn't take it. "None of that [what she had told him] changes how I feel about the woman I'm standing in front of," he added as he walked her out of the Mausoleum. Charlie brought Viki to Carlotta's old diner, which he had transformed into a duplicate of the Bon Jour Café they had known in Paris, Texas. "It's home," Charlie said as Viki choked up.
Jess and Brody met each other at St. Ann's. "I've been here before. I'm as loony as they come," Jessica explained when Brody wondered how she knew the name of another patient. The two almost started to argue, but Jessica calmed down and said that St. Ann's was a safe place. They exchanged stories about why there were both there. Asked by the nuns to say grace, Brody gave thanks for "shelter and support and the chance to get well at St. Ann's." His words struck a chord with Jessica.
