One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of October 13, 2008

Monday

Tess was less-than-thrilled to see Viki at the door, but pretended to be
happy. Viki said she was worried about Natalie. "And I thought you came home
just for me," Tess said in her best Jessica voice. Tess couldn't believe
that Natalie had just "taken off." Viki wanted to see the letter that
Natalie had written and wanted to see Jared. Jessica explained that she, too,
had received a letter from Natalie. Viki kept asking questions about the
letter and Natalie's cell phone. Tess rattled off a bunch of lies and
convinced Viki to take a nap. Viki was more interested in a snack, but Tess
didn't want her near the kitchen. Eventually, Viki did make it into the
kitchen and gave a quizzical look at this huge knife Tina had left on the
counter.

Jared found Natalie in the secret room and tried frantically to break into
it. Natalie told Jared that he'd have to figure out the code. "She's crazy.
She'll kill us both," Natalie said. Jared promised he wouldn't leave Natalie
until he got her out of there. When Jared finally got into the room, he
grabbed Natalie, but it was too late. Tess locked them both in. Tess again
reminded them that they had killed Nash. "Someone else is on to you," Jared
teased. "Oh Aunt Tina. She's not going to tell anyone," Tess smiled. Jared
and Natalie saw, via the close-circuit television, that Viki was back. They
had hope.

Cain told Tina that he was there to reclaim the crown jewels of Mendorra.
Cain said he wasn't leaving until she handed over the real jewels. Tina
started talking really fast, but Cain wasn't buying any of her explanation.
Cain then asked what was behind the door. (That would be the door heading to
the basement and the secret room.) "The jewels aren't there," Tina said.
Cain demanded that Tina take her to the jewels. Cain followed Tina to the
living room. Tina couldn't open the safe, but Cain took a taste of the dip
Tess had prepared and promptly keeled over.

Starr caught Blair daydreaming. Blair had been remembering a moment of
passion with John, but didn't offer that detail to her very pregnant
daughter. "You were smiling," Starr teased her mom. Starr brought her mom up
to speed on the whole Ray/Cristian situation. "Hmm. Maybe that's the case
John's working on," Blair whispered. Blair told Starr how proud she was of
her and how courageous she was being. Starr admitted she was worried about the
upcoming labor. Blair left her daughter alone for a moment. Starr buckled
over in pain. "Mom, it's the baby," Starr called out.

John called Janet and demanded she come to the station. "And don't tell
anything about this to Manning," he added as Todd and Marty walked back into
the house. John made it clear that he knew all about Janet's previous
activities. "Who are you talking to," Todd asked. Janet pretended she was
talking to the pharmacist and ran out of the room. Janet came into the
precinct and was stunned when John recited all her aliases and her criminal
acts. "You've been a busy girl," he said. Janet was clearly uncomfortable.
John realized that Ramsey helped hide her. Janet denied John's
accusations. John offered to call people who knew her 20 years ago.
"I've started a new life," Janet confessed. "A new life working for Todd
Manning," John replied. John showed Janet the photo of Marty and asked her
if that was the woman who Todd was taking care off.

Marty explained to Todd that she had started a journal. Todd asked what
Marty would tell a girlfriend (or in her case a journal) about him. Marty
promised not to keep any deep, dark secrets from him. Marty wondered if there
was some ulterior motive behind why Todd was keeping her there. Todd
admitted that Marty had changed him. "For the first time in my life, I feel
like the better man," Todd smiled. Marty said she had turned down his
marriage proposal because she's not ready yet. Marty admitted to her journal
that she was feeling love toward Todd.

Dr. Kaplan begged Todd to please reconsider his plans for Starr's baby. "If
you make your daughter think her child is dead, that is going to haunt you
for the rest of your life," she warned.

Tuesday

Natalie and Jared watched the security TV while Viki explored downstairs. Both screamed for Viki, who decided she was imagining things. When Nat screamed as Viki walked toward upstairs, Viki turned around, unsure of what she'd heard, but brushed it off and went upstairs. Jared tried to comfort Natalie, who was glad that he was finally with her. She and Jared cleared the air about her phony break-up letter. Natalie told him that even if they were stuck there forever, she'd be okay now because they were together.

John and Janet argued. John wanted answers, but Janet insisted she had never seen Marty before. He warned Janet that she could lose everything by lying. The cop went down the list of Janet's aliases, including Lee Halpern and Carol Dennison. Her list of crimes included a prostitution ring. While Janet reminded John of the statute of limitations on those crimes, he warned that he could still make her life a living hell. Janet insisted that she was just Todd's housekeeper, and that everyone who was in Todd's house wanted to be there. John asked who "everybody" was. He then tried another approach, detailing Marty's life, including Cole and the rape. While Janet was taken aback by news of the rape, she stuck to her guns about not knowing anything. John let her go. In a private moment, Janet nearly lost it before leaving the station.

Todd and Dr. Joplin exchanged barbs. The doctor sarcastically went over their plan. She asked him if Marty had any idea about his true nature. Dr. Joplin then got a phone call about Starr. When Todd asked if the phone call was about his daughter, she replied, "Maybe. Now you have to decide — are you going to make this the worst night of her entire life?"

Starr panicked as she experienced pains. Blair told her to breathe, while a clueless Marcie arrived and thought Starr was practicing. While Marcie and Blair wanted to call Michael (he was on duty), Starr insisted they call Dr.
Joplin. Blair and Marcie tried to calm Starr down, but both shut up when Blair mentioned Todd. Later, Dr. Joplin tended to Starr as Todd listened in. After relieving Starr by telling her she wasn't going into labor, Starr thanked her and told her how much she trusted her. Todd threatened Dr. Joplin about Marcie. The doctor predicted that Starr would deliver a healthy, happy baby. Blair happily told Marcie that she would finally have a baby that wouldn't be taken away from her. The three joyfully looked through baby names.

Marty wrote about Todd in her journal, and also noted she felt a connection to the flowers. Todd checked up on her, who told him to go be with Starr. Marty continued writing in her journal, excited at the prospect of raising a baby with Todd. However, she wrote that although she should feel complete with her life, she felt like if she left Llanview she'd be leaving something behind. But what? Later, Janet returned, and Marty noticed something was on her mind. Janet reached out to Marty, making sure she was all right. Todd returned and asked Janet if she wanted to leave Llanview with them. A troubled Janet was indecisive and hurriedly left. Marty asked Todd if he wanted to rethink moving away, mentioning that Starr may want to be there for the baby. Todd quickly changed the subject. Marty brought up baby names. As the two enjoyed their time together, Todd looked on as Marty happily wrote names down.

Viki and Tess argued as Cain passed out from the poisoned dip. Tina found herself needing Tess' help, afraid that Cain would try to kill her when he wakes up. Tina begged Tess for help with Cain. Not to be outsmarted, Tina asked her niece what she was going to do when Viki realized everything. Tess tried scare tactics, but Tina, no stranger to blackmail, warned Tess not to bother. Tina promised that if she was found out, she'd see to it that Tess ended up strapped to a bed at St. Ann's while Jared and Natalie would be free and enjoying their lives. Tess changed the subject to the problem at hand — there was a man out cold on the floor and Viki was sure to discover him. Viki walked into the study to find it empty. When Tess rushed back inside, Viki was suspicious. Before Tess could explain herself, Tina ran in to greet Viki. Tess and Tina confused Viki, who knew something was off. While the two schemers tried to get Viki to go to sleep, a hungry Viki went for the dip. A guilty Tina blurted out that it was poisoned, but Tess did damage control by saying it had been left out too long. Tina covered, saying she was worried about Sarah and Christian. Viki called Jared, but the reception was so bad that the call was dropped. Viki tried calling him back, but the service was dead. Tess came down to gloat and get Jared's phone. He told her to go to hell. Viki and Tina discussed "Jessica" and Natalie patching things up as Cain started to come to. Back at the secret room, Tess threatened to hurt Viki if Jared didn't hand over the phone. Jared angrily gave up his cell. Tess smirked, saying the reception was perfect. Tess and Tina finally got Viki to sleep. When they went outside to check on Cain, however, he was gone.

Wednesday

Antonio assured Talia that he doesn't blame her for Cristian's disappearance. A frantic Sarah charged in, desperate for more information on Cris. She was upset when Antonio said they had to let Ray go. Talia continued to feel guilty about what her father Carlo had done to her dear friends. Sarah got a call from Cris, but the connection was soon lost. She did learn that Cris was in Colombia. Antonio packed a bag and planned a quick trip south.

Cristian woke up in Vanessa's house. She told him they could leave for Llanview now. Cris wondered why Ray hadn't tracked her down already. Vanessa was convinced that Ray would never find them in Llanview. Cris didn't believe a word she said.

Ray asked Clint if he'd made a deal with Dorian yet. He asked for his money, saying, "then I'll be on my way." Clint informed him that Langston would be going home with him to Colombia. Ray didn't like that idea at all. Clint assured him that Dorian wouldn't let Langston on the plane. "She's not going to let that girl go," he promised. Nora walked in on the conversation. She was clearly suspicious of whatever they were up to. Nora and Clint started to argue. She was upset that Clint had brought a murderer into her house. Clint said that Ray had been exonerated. "Why are we even pretending that we are still together?" an exasperated Nora said after Clint made it clear he has to get Buchanan Enterprises back in the family.

Markko told Dorian he wants in on any plan she's working on to keep Langston in Llanview. The two shook hands. "Now I know I'm screwed, if you two have bonded," Langston quipped as she walked into the living room. Langston didn't think there was any hope that she could stay in town. Dorian reminded them that she's a Cramer and "we fight 'till the bitter end." Ray showed up at Dorian's door and announced that he and Langston would be leaving that night. He gave Langston her airplane ticket and left, ignoring the pleas from Markko and his niece. Dorian took her phone outside and called Jackie. "You know that business that we have with Ray Montez? I want it finished up tonight," she said. Markko told Langston that he'd wait for her. "I could do two years standing on my head," he joked.

Shane told Gigi he wanted to see Dad (Brody, not Rex). Gigi told her wide-eyed son that Brody was now in a mental hospital. Shane wanted to write Brody and felt bad that he had been mean to Gigi and Rex. Gigi told Shane that they'd tell Rex that Shane knows "when he wakes up." Shane was afraid that Rex would die. He regretted not being able to tell Rex he was sorry he was shot. Gigi was glad she had told Rex about his son "before all this happened." Gigi then got a brainstorm. She realized that Shane was Rex's family, so he could go see Rex.

By Rex's bedside, Adriana told a still-sleeping Rex that she was going to stay there until "you open your eyes." Roxy couldn't believe Adriana was still by Rex's bedside. Roxy got into it again with her daughter-in-law. Bo asked the women if Rex had ever made his wishes known, specifically if he would want to be kept alive by machines, as he now was. Adriana thought Rex needed time to recover, and didn't think Gigi would help the situation. "I am his family, Roxy, not Gigi, not Shane, me!" she screamed. Roxy stormed off and called Adriana a control freak. Adriana tried to explain her actions to Bo. He reminded her that she was Rex's wife, not his jailer. Bo threatened to pull some strings, as they were in the Buchanan wing of the hospital. "So, you are on his side?" Adriana said, meaning Shane. "No, I'm on his side," Bo replied, motioning towards Rex. Adriana sat down and wept. When she got up, she ran right into Gigi and Shane. Gigi explained that Shane was Rex's son and he wanted to see his dad. "You are too late," Adriana said. "He's gone."

Thursday

Markko helped Langston with her luggage. Cole showed up at La Boulaie and ran into Starr at the door. "Colombia's not so bad," Markko said, trying to cheer Langston up. "Are you just waiting to get rid of me?" she snapped. The two started to argue. "My life as I know it is over," Langston sighed. Markko vowed that he'd never let her go. Langston and Starr started to cry as they said goodbye. Blair and Addie worked on a bon voyage banner for Langston. Dorian vowed that the teen wasn't going anywhere. Markko promised he and Langston would work it out. "We're freaks," he reminded her. Langston smiled though her tears. Ray ran Dorian's doorbell. "It's time," he said. "You are early," Starr sneered. Dorian called Jackie, curious as to why Ray hadn't been taken care of. Jackie told her to keep her eyes open.

Earlier, a thug got into a fight with Ray outside of the Buchanan mansion. "Who sent you?" Ray asked. Nigel explained that the man was with the cable company, then he showed Ray to the sitting room. "It seems that Langston and I will be leaving Llanview after all," Ray told a stunned Clint and Nora. "Our work is almost done," Clint said cryptically. Nora wanted to bring Nigel into a rather uncomfortable conversation. She set up a fictional "what if" scenario, basically describing what Clint was doing with Langston. She and Clint began to argue, but then kissed.

Nigel caught the alleged cable repair guy coming downstairs and suspiciously told him there wasn't a cable problem. Once outside, the man called Jackie with the news that he hadn't been able to silence Montez. Jackie ordered him not to let Montez get "airborne."

Bo paid Viki a visit. Viki left another frantic message for Jared, who she couldn't find. She was stunned to learn about Rex's condition. Bo was surprised that Viki hadn't heard from Natalie, either. They compared notes on what they knew about Natalie's disappearance from Llanview. Viki said it was her and Clint's fault that Natalie had left. Bo shared that Jared's "Dear John" letter didn't sound like Natalie. Bo wondered if Tess might be back. Viki reminded him that Tess was integrated. She wondered why Tina hadn't said anything. Bo thought that because Tina had been away for so long, maybe she wouldn't be able to tell if Jessica wasn't really Jessica. Bo pointed out that Jessica was the one who gave Jared the break-up letter. Tess eavesdropped on their conversation and was alarmed when she heard the name Tess come out of Viki's mouth. Bo and Viki continued to review everything that had happened. "I'm going to have to find Jessica and talk to her directly," Viki said. First, Viki and Bo asked Tina — who was crawling around the floor looking for David Vickers — if she thought Jessica seemed like herself. Tina looked around the room trying to think of a good response. "Jessica is in mourning and she may never be the exact same person again," Tina explained and got out of the living room. Tina opened the door and "her highness" was given an envelope — it was a photo of doggie David Vickers, who clearly had been kidnapped. (Or should that be dognapped?)

Gigi and Shane came to see Rex, but Adriana said she had Rex moved away. "Where you can't touch him," she spat. Shane stood up for his mom.
"Where's Rex?" Gigi pleaded. Adriana refused to tell and suggested they visit Brody in the psychiatric hospital. Gigi punched Adriana. "Now we're even," Gigi said. Back in good mother mode, Gigi told Shane she was going to punish herself because hitting was never a good idea. Adriana insisted that Gigi and Shane leave. They headed out, but Gigi reminded Shane that Morascos never give up.

Jessica and Bree made preparations to leave Llanview.

Friday

John dropped by Blair's to see Dorian. "Why did she meet with Jackie McNaughton?" John asked. Blair tried to explain that Dorian had come home from prison with a plan to save Langston. Addie admitted to John that she had called Jackie on Dorian's behalf. "McNaughton showed up here right after Dorian said she had a plan," Blair admitted. Blair didn't have any details, but Addie did. Dorian had described Jackie as "the exterminator."

Talia, Sarah and Antonio were agitated at the airport. Sarah was very worried. "We have no idea what kind of danger Cristian might be in," she pointed out. Cristian got off the plane and an overjoyed Sarah ran into his arms.
There was a wonderful reunion with everyone. Vanessa introduced herself and Lola to the group. Sarah looked at Vanessa and wondered about their relationship.

In the air, Cristian was anxious for the plane to land. Vanessa and Lola were excited about their new life. Cristian asked Vanessa for the whole story. "How did you end up married to a murderer?" he asked. Vanessa said Ray was very charming. She explained that Lola had heard Ray shoot her mother and now they both fear him.

Ray called Clint from the airport. He didn't want to take Langston to Colombia. "I know Dorian Lord," Clint said firmly. Nora was rattled when Dallas let her know that Clint opened up to her about his and Nora's relationship. Rene told Dallas that there was room at the Palace Hotel for her. While Dallas packed her bags, Rene and Nora compared notes about being with Buchanan men.

Dorian didn't want Ray and Langston to board the plane just yet. Langston begged for a few more minutes with her friends. "The line can be long at security. I want to go home," he said to the upset teen. Langston started to cry. Dorian assured Starr that she was doing everything she could. Clint showed up at the airport and stood in front of Dorian. Ray watched from afar. Clint told everyone that Dorian could have fixed this situation a long time ago. "But she's decided to give up Langston," he told them. Starr asked Dorian if this was true. Dorian didn't think Clint would stick to his agreement. Markko and Starr begged Dorian to give Clint what he wants. Langston looked devastated at what she was hearing; she didn't want Dorian to stoop to Clint's level of blackmail. Starr, Cole and Markko disagreed. "We're going to be together sooner than you think," Dorian promised. Dorian went to buy some magazines for Langston. Angel Mel asked her if she was sure those were what she wanted. Dorian looked down and saw she was buying some gun magazines. Dorian remembered Mel from the hospital. Mel wondered if Langston should remember Dorian as "guns and vengeance." Dorian called Jackie and begged him to stop the hit. "It's too late," Jackie said. "You have got to stop it," she begged.

Markko gave Langston a big hug and they remembered their romance through flashbacks. Ray told everyone it was time to board the plane.

Ray panicked and told Clint again that he didn't want to take a girl to Colombia. Clint assured him everything would work out. Clint arrived home, clearly frustrated by his plan's failure. After talking to Nora, Clint changed his mind. Clint called Ray and said, "I'm calling it off." Ray saw Vanessa and walked toward her. "Leave her alone, Ray," Vanessa demanded. "He's got a gun!" Dorian screamed when she saw a man in a pilot's uniform take aim at Ray. John shot the hit man, who dropped the weapon. Vanessa picked up the gun and shot Ray herself.
