One Life To Live Recaps

OLTL Week of October 18, 2010

Monday

After Hannah dropped his bullet necklace outside her house, James confronted her about why she has it. Hannah claimed that Cole found it and tossed it in the trash, so Hannah rescued it. She pointed out that James clearly wears it as a reminder of his dear, sweet Starr. Hannah left James with something to think about when she mentioned that James might win Starr's heart if he comes to her rescue. Meanwhile, Starr rolled a ball back-and-forth with baby Hope and realized that a hard-to-reach window might be their only form of escape. She tossed the baseball through the window and hoped that someone would find their SOS and follow her handwritten instructions to contact Todd.

Nate dropped by Todd's to bravely apologize for helping Dani escape Ross and putting her in this mess in the first place. Nate was relieved when Todd didn't toss him out and actually revealed that he'd briefly talked to Dani while Eli was on the phone with Blair. Todd noted that he wished he'd been able to talk to Starr, too.

After hearing that Ford may have knocked up Jessica, Clint showed up with a few goons at Ford's apartment. Clint helped himself to a beer from Ford's fridge as his men roughed up the "mongrel." Clint explained that his daughter and Brody are going to be married, and Ford better stay out of Jessica's life. To Ford's surprise, Clint announced that he can keep his job at the university, and James can keep his grant. Ford wondered what Clint was getting at and realized it has to do with his mother. Clint explained that he had his goons knock Ford around only in his torso so that Inez wouldn't see any marks on his pretty face. James arrived home to find his fitness-minded brother icing his abs and didn't think much of it, going on about his shady conversation with Hannah. He showed Ford the necklace and explained that Starr was wearing it right before her disappearance, which he now thinks Hannah might have been involved in.

At the hospital, Jessica and Brody anxiously prepared to go in for a DNA test to determine her baby's paternity. They agreed that no matter what the outcome is, they'll still marry and raise lots of babies together. They went in for Jess's checkup and told Dr. Wright that they want to have the test done today. Clint phoned Jessica to let her know that Ford won't be a problem.

Vivian comforted Shaun over his brother's medical condition, unaware that Eli was hovering over Greg talking about how Greg screwed up his plan. He dripped something mysterious into Greg's IV and told the doc he wouldn't feel it at all. Just as he was finishing, Shaun came in. Before Shaun could overpower Eli, the villain clocked him over the head and ran off. Back at the warehouse, Dani came upon her mother in restraints and cried with joy upon seeing her alive (kudos to portrayer Kelley Missal, who made this recapper tear up!). "It was all a lie," Téa assured her weepy daughter, who swore they'd never be apart again. They talked about how Eli is totally insane, and Téa told Dani what she knew of Eli's bizarre plan to fake her death. Just as they were plotting their escape, Eli returned to the warehouse and found them together.

Tuesday

Viki stopped by Dorian's to see how she's handling Starr's kidnapping, but the anxious mayor was quick to reject her rival's sympathy. Dorian revealed that Echo had been there that morning snapping pics of her in an emotional state. Viki and Dorian argued about Echo's past "friendship" with Dorian and how much Dorian enjoyed seeing Echo get between Viki and Clint. Dorian warned Viki that Echo may be after her husband this time, too, but she'll make sure Echo doesn't get her claws into Charlie. Viki revealed Rex's finding that Echo got a speeding ticket in Llanview a year after she was ordered by a judge to leave. Dorian was curious, but more concerned about the reason for Echo's current stay. Before leaving, Viki urged Dorian to call on her if she needs anything where Starr and Hope are concerned.

At the Buenos Dias, Rex caught up Gigi on his investigation of Echo, noting that she'd skipped out on her hotel bill at the Minuteman Hotel. Cristian stopped by their table to talk to Gigi about an art project and noted that Layla is coming to town that week for a visit. Rex approached Clint at his table to inquire about his affair with Echo DiSavoy. "What happened between me and Echo is none of your business," Clint snapped. Rex managed to get Clint's ear when he mentioned that Echo had been through Llanview once more after Clint and Viki ran her out of town in 1983. Meanwhile, Gigi urged Cristian to go to Paris and reconnect with Layla after he learned that she had to postpone her trip because of a work conflict.

Echo checked into the Angel Square Hotel as Roxy showed her around. When Roxy asked for a deposit, Echo distracted her by commenting on Roxy's "excellent bone structure" and got her to waive the deposit by offering a photo shoot. Echo revealed that she used to be a photographer for The Banner and that she and Viki go way back, as do her and Charlie. Roxy talked a bit about Charlie's troubles, and Echo was both surprised and disappointed to hear that Charlie had a son. At Llanfair, Charlie happened to be speaking with Brody about the loss of Jared, and they ended up commiserating over the possibility that Ford may be the father of Jessica's baby.

Still trapped by Hannah, Starr was devastated to see that Hannah had found her SOS outside. Starr begged Hannah to let them out so she can get food and diapers for Hope, but Hannah swept the child up out of the crib and threatened to take Hope with her. Meanwhile, James shared his suspicion with Ford that Hannah hasn't really ever recovered her marbles and that she could have kidnapped Starr and Hope. Ultimately, Hannah left Hope with Starr, threatening to return once she figures out the next phase of her evil plan.

Once Echo managed to get rid of Roxy, she thought back to a box she'd had with her the first time she was in Llanview, then opened that box and looked inside. Roxy headed to the Buenos Dias and ran into Rex, who hightailed it to the hotel upon hearing that Echo's now staying in Angel Square. He snagged a key from behind the front desk and made his way into Echo's empty room, where he promptly began going through the drawers. Finally, Rex came upon the box and was shocked by what he found inside: a half-heart locket like the one worn by his mother, Lili. Meanwhile, Echo arrived at Llanfair, offered Charlie her condolences for the loss of his son and said there's something they need to talk about.

Wednesday

Echo offered her condolences to Charlie and said she understands the kind of loss he's experienced. She was on the verge of unburdening herself when Viki came home and told Echo to get out. "I'm sorry, Charlie," Echo stated cryptically. "Sorrier than you know." Afterward, Viki was really keyed-up about Echo's presence and assumed she was there just laying the groundwork to seduce "Chuckles." Charlie assured his jealous wife that he is not going to sleep with Echo.

At the Buenos Dias, Gigi showed Viki a sketch she'd done of the necklace that belonged to Rex's mother, just as Rex came across that very pendant in Echo's secret box. Rex snapped a pic of the necklace and was about to sneak out when Echo arrived and asked what he's doing in her room. He made up a story about fixing something in Eddie Johnny's room, but she told him he has the wrong suite. Echo rightly guessed that he's Roxy's "son" and introduced herself. Once he was gone, she retrieved her box and breathed a sigh of relief to see that its contents were safe and sound.

Cristian ran into Markko at the Buenos Dias and learned that Markko plans to stick around Llanview a little while longer, at least until Starr and Hope are found. Cris wondered if Markko just wants to be close to Langston. Rex found Gigi at the caf and showed her the picture he took of the necklace. Gigi was surprised, but thrilled that they have a new lead on Rex's parents. He revealed that he plans to go back to New Mexico to ask a few more questions about this necklace.

To Langston's surprise, Ford asked Hannah for another chance (although it was clearly part of his and James's "plan" to get some info out of Hannah). Hannah stepped out to take a call from Marty, while Ford explained to Langston that he's working an angle that could help Starr and just begged her to trust him on this. Langston agreed to play along, and pretended to argue with Ford when Hannah returned. Langston excused herself so Ford could continue his faux plea to make things right with Hannah, but Hannah ended up admitting that she wants to be with Cole. Ford reminded Hannah that she can never have Cole as long as Starr is in the picture. "What if she wasn't?" Hannah suggested. Before Ford could find out what Hannah was getting at, Cole showed up. Ford left. Langston went over to James and Ford's place to get more of an explanation on what these two are up to with Hannah. James made it clear that Cole cannot know about any of this.

Up in the attic, Starr was nearly delirious as she and Hope wasted away in captivity. She fell asleep and had a nightmare that Cole was making out with Hannah when he should be looking for her, then dreamt of James coming to her rescue. In the dream, Cole suddenly realized he was wrong and asked Starr to come with him. Before she could choose between James and Cole, she woke up to the sound of her crying baby. She picked up Hope and sang her a little lullaby. Elsewhere in Llanview, Echo put on the half-heart necklace while Charlie pleaded with Viki to stop focusing on Echo. Starr put Hope back to sleep and talked out loud as she wished for James or Cole to find them.

Thursday

At the LPD, John worked out a map based on Eli's traced call. Natalie brought in her recent lab results and revealed that the ashes that supposedly belonged to Téa were indeed someone else's remains. At the warehouse, Téa and Dani commiserated over their predicament and Téa assured Dani that Todd was doing everything he could to track her down right now. Eli returned and Dani cringed as he tried to force-feed her. Téa asked Eli when this ordeal would be over, but he said not until he gets his money.

John arrived at Todd's just as Eli contacted him about the ransom exchange. John took over the call and listened to Eli's demands. After insisting on a getaway in addition to his cash, Eli made one final demand: Blair. Knowing it could save Dani and Starr (who they believed was with Eli), she agreed to see him, but Todd wasn't keen on the idea. Eli returned to his hostages and claimed that he's about to get what he wants, including Blair.

At the hospital, Vivian urged Shaun to take a break from waiting for Greg to wake up and go celebrate Destiny's birthday. Vivian was certain that Shaun had actually thwarted Eli's latest murder attempt on his brother, but later noticed that his pulse was weakening. Meanwhile, Destiny was having a hard time enjoying her birthday without her ailing brother. Shaun arrived at the party in time to see Destiny blew out her birthday candles. Destiny opened her gifts, and Nate caused a stir by giving her a pair of earrings that she loved after Darren and Matthew both gave her the same gift. Matthew followed Nate outside and yelled at him for crashing the party. Darren intervened before a fight could break out.

Back at the hospital, Greg started to flatline but Vivian was able to quickly stabilize him. She soon realized that Eli had put something in Greg's IV. Greg woke up and Vivian asked if she wanted to contact his family, but he wanted to talk to the cops first. Natalie responded to Viv's call and asked Greg if he has something to tell her about Téa. Greg confirmed her theory that Téa is alive and explained that Eli made him fake her death and was using a secret about Greg to blackmail him. Greg wanted to make things right with Téa and was disturbed to hear that she's at the clinic where she's supposed to be. Natalie had no choice but to place Greg under arrest. Vivian phoned Greg's family to let them know that Greg is awake. The Evans family came to see him and were shocked as Greg admitted that he did help Eli. Natalie rushed over to Todd's to tell John about Téa, but she was too late: John, Todd and Blair had just shown up at the warehouse to meet Eli.

Friday

Hannah disturbed Cole with her admission that she dreamt of Starr and Hope dying. Marty and Cole were forced to leave Hannah alone when they heard about the ransom exchange. Hannah was relieved, seeing as she had plenty of hostage-related things to do. Unbeknownst to Hannah, the house was being staked out by James, Ford and Langston. Ford started violently coughing, but continued to lie that he just lifted too much at the gym. Langston and James were highly concerned when they saw that Ford was coughing up blood. Langston convinced Ford to abandon their stakeout so that she could take him to the hospital. James, meanwhile, approached Hannah as she made her way out to the car.

To Téa's horror, Eli put a gag on Dani and dragged her out of the warehouse for "insurance" at his meeting with Todd, Blair and the cops. Eli phoned John and watched from the window, asking where his helicopter is. John claimed that there was one waiting a few blocks away. Eli demanded to speak with Blair and told her that the only way he'll release the kids is if she runs away with him. Blair looked horrified, but would have done anything at that moment for Starr, Dani and Hope. Natalie showed up and told Brody that she has to get to John right away, but he wouldn't let her near the warehouse. Marty's wheels started to spin when she overheard Brody say that he can't put Nat in harm's way because he cares too much about the baby.

Matthew and Clint had a BE powwow at the Buenos Dias, and Clint congratulated his nephew on preventing Rex from stealing "corporate secrets" a few weeks ago. When Matthew asked why Clint didn't turn Rex into the cops, Clint hinted that he had his reasons. Over at the counter, Cristian and Gigi talked about their art class over, but Cris was sad when Gigi mentioned one of Layla's favorite paintings.

At the hospital, Greg insisted to his parents that it's time Shaun and Destiny know "the truth," but Phylicia thought his secret should remain between the three of them. They continued to argue until Shaun and Destiny interrupted and said they're ready to hear the truth. Destiny couldn't believe her ears when Mr. and Mrs. Evans announced that they are not her parents. Shaun was totally confused, recalling that he was "around" when they had her (not around enough to notice his mom was never pregnant, apparently). Destiny broke down in tears and couldn't believe that she's adopted, but Phylicia explained that she's not adopted. "You are our flesh and blood," she swore. Now Shaun was really confused. Greg had been silent this whole time, but finally revealed, "Destiny, I am your father!"

Blair approached Eli as he exited the building with Dani and claimed she'd drive the getaway van to his helicopter. Eli raised a hand above Dani and showed everyone that he has a remote control that could trigger a huge explosion in the warehouse (which everyone believed contained Starr and Hope). Amidst the chaos caused by this announcement, Blair crept around the van and slipped into the warehouse through a grate. Expecting to find her daughter and granddaughter, she was speechless upon finding a bound-and-gagged Téa instead. After a brief, joyful reunion, Blair asked where Starr is, and Téa had to break it to Blair that she doesn't know. Outside, Eli let Dani go and jumped into the van, but was furious when he saw that Blair wasn't inside. John begged Eli to put down the remote, but Eli angrily mumbled something about Todd not being able to have his wife, either, and blew the roof off the place.
