Monday
Marcie debated evading a police car and explained her cockamamie scheme to
Tommy, who fiddled with his bottle in the backseat and seemed unfazed. She
pulled over and was greeted by a flashlight-wielding officer. Marcie, er,
Penny, chattered on as the officer checked out her identification. "Mrs.
Shaw, what kind of a snow job are you trying to pull here?" he asked,
referring to the fact that her license said she's 29. "You don't look a day
over 23," he teased, but when she continued her nervous chatter, he asked
her to step out of the car and perform a sobriety test. The officer informed
her that she was driving too slow and that's why he pulled her over. Marcie
thanked him for looking out for her, then flubbed and called Aaron Tommy.
The cop asked what she just said. Marcie explained that Tommy was his middle
name, and that she was just really tired. He told her to get some shuteye
and shoved off, much to Marcie's relief. "Score one for Penny and Aaron
Shaw," she cheered.
Jessica found Nash picking up some of Jared's things and told him not to
play manservant. Jessica ranted about Jared taking over 51 percent of their
lives. Just because her alter ego started this mess doesn't mean they have
to live with it, she said. Meanwhile, Natalie and Cristian watched Jared and
Sarah play tonsil hockey at the bar. Cristian pulled Jared off of Sarah, and
Natalie warned Sarah that Jared is the scoundrel who tried to kiss her last
week. Natalie told Sarah that he was just using her to get to Natalie. Jared
asked Sarah if he came on too strong, but she didn't have any complaints.
Natalie explained that Jared blackmailed her into giving him a job. Cristian
pointed out that Sarah might have a habit of picking up bad guys. That only
egged Sarah on — she asked Jared to dinner at the Palace. "It's a
date," he told her. Sarah told Cristian and Natalie that she likes him
because he goes after what he wants, unlike some people who just wait for
things to happen to them; she then hair-tossed her way out the door, leaving
Cris and Nat to sit around and drink beers. When Jared arrived home, Jessica
and Nash were all smiles, even offering Jared the master bedroom. Jared
seemed sufficiently thrown by their behavior and headed to the bedroom. "He
is not gonna know what hit him," Jessica snickered.
PARIS, TEXAS, a subtitle told us. One of Viki's regulars came in to the
Bonjour Caf and was treated to some primo service by Viki the waitress. A
grumpy cook told Viki he'd like to see a little less talking and a little
more working. It was clear that this was no regular roadside establishment
when Viki asked what was taking so long with that goat cheese quesadilla.
"Two months earlier," another subtitle told us as Viki walked into the caf
on a rainy night. A friendly waitress noted that they were short-staffed
before offering her a piece of pie. She asked why Viki was dressed up, and
Viki explained that she was at a funeral. Viki recalled sitting in the
airport wondering what to do and buying that one-way ticket to anywhere. The
next flight was going to Tulsa, the clerk told her, so Viki took the ticket.
She explained that she got to Tulsa, rented a car and drove south. There are
worse places to end up on a rainy night, the waitress pointed out. Moe told
Noelle to get back to work. Gigi's not coming in today, the cook told her,
while Viki thought back to Dorian asking her what she's going to do with the
rest of her life. "How about me?" she said, looking at Noelle and the cook.
"What would I want with a Yankee waitress?" he asked Viki, pointing out that
her hands looked like they'd never done a "lick of hard work." But she
convinced him that she'd make it worth his while. He handed her a waitress
uniform, then chuckled to himself. Viki suited up and got ready for the
"rough-and-tumble types" in section two. Viki's first customer was the same
guy she was serving two months later. Viki marveled at how fast the time had
gone by.
John informed Michael that he and Todd were going to work together to find
Marcie before Ramsey does. Michael didn't seem thrilled. John explained that
he didn't agree with Ramsey's methods. Ramsey arrived and told them to get
lost and mind their own business. Outside Ron's, Michael told the guys that
if they were taking the search into their own hands, he wanted in. John
agreed, but warned Michael to back off when he tells him. This is your show,
Todd told John.
Tuesday
Cristian called Sarah to Capricorn under the guise of talking about the
club's music budget, but Sarah accused Cristian of being jealous that she
kissed Jared the night before. Meanwhile, Natalie stormed into the carriage
house, ranting to Miles about milk when she was clearly upset about
something else. "My psychiatrist would have a field day with you," Miles
cracked. John was getting ready to go off in search of Marcie when he
received a visit from Marty, while a sleeping Blair was startled by a knock
on her bedroom door. Jared was rudely awakened by an impromptu dance
party/poker game in the living room, courtesy of Jessica and Nash. Jared
stormed into the living room and accused Jessica and Nash of staging the
whole party to set him off. Jess and Nash had even invited over Roxy's
friends, Melba and Boo, from Jared's first poker game. Despite being
annoyed, Jared joined the game and was soon vexed by Boo and Jessica's
annoying hijinks. The guests left, and Nash challenged Jared to a game that
would cost 10 percent of their shares.
Cristian told Sarah that if she wanted to date a loser like Jared, she can
go right ahead. He started to give her a hard time about booking expensive
bands, but Sarah insisted that he was in denial of his jealousy. Cristian
balked at the suggestion and pointed out that Sarah's got a thing for bad
boys. She challenged him to find her an alternative — like him! ME?
Cristian gulped. Sarah accused him of being afraid to move on with someone
because of Evangeline's coma. When he balked at that suggestion, too, Sarah
declared that whether he likes it or not, she's going out with Jared.
Natalie's strange behavior caused Miles to ask if she was upset over a guy.
She insisted that her bad mood didn't have to do with John, but that she was
tired of Jared messing with her life. She shared that he kissed her and
accused her of liking it, then came on to Sarah. Miles gave his two cents:
Natalie is bent out of shape because she's jealous. Natalie admitted that
Jared's a good kisser, but had no other qualities of merit. Natalie turned
the conversation around and asked Miles what was up with him. He explained
that he had some Court-mandated community service to complete and was
actually going to take on some kind of project with Roxy. Natalie advised
Miles to beware of Roxy, then headed over to the cottage. There, Jared was
gloating to Jessica that he was going on a date with Sarah, just as Natalie
walked in and said that would happen in his dreams. She told everyone that
Jared was just using Sarah to get to her. "You wish it was you going on a
date with me," Jared told Natalie. "It's time to pull out the big guns,"
Jessica told Nash and Natalie after Jared left.
Blair got out of bed in her slinky animal-print nightie to find Todd packing
a bag in her bedroom. He explained that he was getting his stuff (which the
maid mistakenly put in Blair's room because after all, they are married) so
that he could go off in search of Tommy. Blair wanted the whole truth, so
Todd revealed that he was going with John. Despite Blair's concerns, Todd
assured her that things would go smoothly and he'd bring home his son. She
asked him to be careful, not just for the kids but for her, which led to a
hot good-bye lip-lock. "Don't get stuck in traffic," she awkwardly advised.
Privately, Blair gazed at her wedding ring and thought back to Todd telling
her, "You're in my blood; you always will be" during their faux wedding. She
prayed for her husband's safe return.
Michael shocked Roxy when he said that he was going on the road with Todd
and John. She thought the idea was crazy, but understood he'd do whatever it
takes to find his baby and his wife. Michael lamented his previous actions,
fearing that his lying had sent Marcie away. Roxy promised that if she heard
anything about Marcie's whereabouts, she wouldn't rat her out to the cops,
no matter how big the prize is. Later, Roxy paid Miles a visit at the
carriage house and commented on the nice digs he found for himself. She said
she'd found the perfect community service for them to do together. "Unwed
mothers' counseling free clinic?" he read off the flier she handed him. "You
can be the kids' basketball coach," she suggested. Miles admitted that he
didn't know much about kids or basketball, but tentatively agreed.
John explained to Marty that he'd been to Ron's house and discovered that
Marcie had stopped there and taken off. John confided his fears about Ramsey
and that he could push Marcie to do something dangerous. Marty understood
his concern but didn't want John to ruin his own career by getting involved.
He promised he'd be careful, and pulled her into a passionate good-bye kiss
before Todd came knocking. Marty didn't realize that Todd was going on the
journey, too. She glared at Todd as they left John's suite. Todd wanted to
drive, but John thought Manning's car was too "flashy. "Michael met up with
them downstairs just as a cop came in and said Michael was under arrest.
Wednesday
Langston managed to sneak out of the group home and ran straight to school
to find Cole, Langston and Starr. "You have to hide me." she begged as she
rushed into a classroom where all three of them happened to be. Meanwhile,
Dorian tried to remedy the situation with some phone calls to no avail, and
told Blair that she needs her to take over now. While John looked over the
warrant for Michael’s arrest, Todd gloated to Michael that he was going off
to look for Marcie without him. As Viki called orders to Moe (the Bonjour
Caf cook), Noelle marveled at how it was like she’d been taking orders her
whole life. Back in Llanview, Nora and Clint looked at old photos with
Renee. Matthew came in and informed his mom he was feeling up to going to
school today (apparently he’d been ill). Clint received a call from Beaver
Calhoun, Asa’s lawyer, saying it was time for Asa’s will reading. Clint
explained to everyone that Asa wanted all family members in Texas for the
reading. Clint mentioned to Renee that he thinks Asa has a few surprises for
them, then went off to make the arrangements.
In Paris, TX, Moe offered Viki some salmon to taste, but it was a little too
"fancy" for Noelle. Viki explained that she knew so much about gourmet food
from cookbooks. Another waitress — Farah Fath’s Gigi —
rushed in and apologized for being late. Gigi admitted she was late because
she had some trouble with her son, Shane. She handed out lottery tickets and
sat down with Viki to scratch theirs off, but neither of them won. Gigi said
she wished to live in a house with maids, and Viki chirped that money’s not
the solution to everything.
Markko was thrilled to put his arms around his girlfriend, who desperately
wanted her friends to keep her hidden from the group home. Starr promised
that they’d come up with a solution. Meanwhile, Dorian wanted Blair to step
in and volunteer to be Langston’s foster mother. Blair said she had enough
on her plate, what with a missing baby and two children of her own around,
and assured Dorian that the foster-care system was better than when she was
in it. Mrs. Woodrow from the home arrived and informed Dorian and Blair that
Langston was missing. She wanted to know if Starr had heard from Langston,
and insisted on waiting for Starr to come home from school. As Dorian was
grilling Mrs. Woodrow about her organization, Starr rushed in with Langston.
Busted! Mrs. Woodrow wanted to take Langston back, but Blair announced that
she would be Langston’s foster mother. Dorian was thrilled, while Langston
was unsure. Back at school, Markko was desperate to help his girlfriend. "I
have an idea," said Cole.
John checked out the officer’s warrant and told Mike that the arrest was
legit. Todd admitted to John that they need Michael to help them persuade
Marcie to give up the chase and hand over Tommy, but since he was otherwise
detained, they’d have to get on the road. John said he wished there was some
way to help Mike, but he couldn’t get him off this time. (If John had a
penny for every time he "wished" he could get his brother out of trouble,
he’d be rich.) Nora showed up to deal with the situation and apologized to
everyone, saying her ADA ran with the perjury charge and that she didn’t
know Michael was getting arrested. Nevertheless, the charge was substantial
and she had no choice but to let the cops handcuff him. Michael begged John
to let Marcie go free if he finds her, then was hauled off in cuffs. John
reminded Todd that they were going to do things his way before they went off
to follow a lead on Marcie.
At the cottage, Jessica and Nash blared children’s music to drive Jared
crazy. When Jared lied that he loved kids, another surprise came his way
— a gaggle of screaming children in Halloween costumes. One went
straight for his laptop. After the kiddie party, Natalie, Nash and Jess
delighted in their scheme. Jared was sufficiently irked by the peanut butter
on his computer screen and the finger paints on his shirt. Jessica
threatened to start a day-care center in the cottage. Later, Jared returned
all spiffed up for his date with Sarah. Jessica advised Natalie that they’ll
just have to let Sarah learn for herself that Jared is scum. Meanwhile,
Jared headed over to Asa’s with some flowers for Renee. Asa’s widow was
pleased as punch, but Nigel grumbled as he took the flowers to a vase. Jared
mentioned that he was looking for an apartment and had lost his job. Once
again, Renee remarked that there was something about Jared that reminded her
of a young Asa. He told her Asa was a lucky man and promised to check in on
her from time to time. Before he left, Renee remarked that the house has
plenty of bedrooms and he could stay there. Over at the cottage, Natalie
called Viki to say that she misses her mom. Gigi noted that she’s hardly
ever seen Viki use a cell phone.
Thursday
Both Nigel and Bo thought Renee's idea of having Jared live at the mansion
was crazy. Meanwhile, Blair assured Mrs. Woodrow that it was a good idea for
Langston to live with her. In Danville, VA, "Penny" and "Aaron" were having
a fun old time at a diner. Marcie opened up an envelope that Ron gave her
and was thrilled with its contents. Todd ignored John's order to play by his
rules and impersonated an FBI agent while they were visiting a highway
patrolman.
Blair tried to convince Mrs. Woodrow that Langston needed to get out of the
foster system as soon as possible. Langston was unsure about the whole
thing. Dorian requested a word alone with her niece to tell Blair how proud
she was of her. But what about Todd? Dorian wondered. Langston told Starr
that she didn't want to impose on her family or be a bother to anyone, but
Starr assured her that she really thinks moving in to La Boulaie is the
right choice. Blair told Dorian that she recognized Mrs. Woodrow's type
— a do-gooder who did everything by the book. Woodrow and the girls
returned, and Blair informed the Social Services worker that she was in
Cramer territory now, and Cramer women open up their homes to people who
need their love. Langston seemed moved by Blair's speech, and so did Mrs.
Woodrow, who agreed to start the necessary steps to get Langston placed with
Blair. Langston told the Cramer women they are an amazing family.
Ron had put a ton of cash in the envelope along with a letter instructing
Marcie to head to Decatur, GA, where they should ask for Harvey. Marcie
finished reading the letter, and set fire to it as instructed. She glanced
at her wedding ring and she remembered Ronnie saying they have to cut all
ties to the past, so she removed her ring and took off with the tot.
Meanwhile, John showed a photo of Marcie to the trooper who'd pulled her
over, but he said the woman he met had dark hair. Todd scribbled a pair of
glasses and some dark hair on Marcie's face, but that still didn't ring a
bell with the trooper, who shared that the woman was headed to Florida. When
Todd mentioned the name Tommy, the trooper recalled that the woman did refer
to "Aaron" as Tommy at one point. He went off to find out what he could
about Penny Shaw and returned with a make and license plate of the car she
was driving. John and Todd went off in search of Marcie, leaving her
photograph behind.
Still on the phone with Viki, Natalie asked her mom if she could visit her
in Paris, but Viki didn't really give her an answer. Clint arrived just as
Natalie and Viki were hanging up, and informed everyone that he needed them
to join him in Texas at Asa's ranch for the will reading. Clint asked the
girls how Viki was doing. Natalie confessed that she thinks Viki doesn't
want to come home. Clint asked what was really bothering them, and Nash
informed Clint that Jared was getting on everyone's nerves. Clint went off
to investigate the Jared situation and was shocked to hear from Bo that
Renee had invited Jared to move in. Renee returned from her walk and
informed everything that Jared was their roommate. While Renee walked Jared
out, Bo told Nigel and Clint that he planned to do a little background check
on the newcomer.
In Texas, Gigi was shocked to learn that Viki has a daughter. "What else
have you been keeping from me?" she asked. Viki confessed that she had four
children, including twin girls. Gigi couldn't fathom having the energy to
raise more than one child, and asked how Viki maintains a relationship with
her ex-husband. Viki said they were friends, but that she didn't agree with
some of his choices — like dating Dorian. Viki explained that she was
presently taking a break from everyone and everything she knows. Gigi could
get down with that. Moe came over to tell Viki to get back to work, and Gigi
pointed out to Moe that their classy new waitress is clearly looking for
something, just as Viki met her newest customer, Charlie.
Renee explained to Bo that Jared is a genuine fan of Asa, but Bo didn't want
a stranger moving in with her. Jared introduced himself and Bo expressed his
concern that his timing seemed a little convenient, considering Asa's recent
passing. Grateful for the invite, Jared told Renee that he couldn't accept.
Renee wouldn't take no for an answer and told Bo and Nigel that her
invitation to Jared was none of their business. Asa reminded her that this
was Pa's house. Renee asked Jared to join her for a walk, and after they
left, Nigel intimated to Bo that Jared was a gold digger. Once alone with
Clint, Bo told his brother that he needed to stay close to home because of
Lindsay and that way, he could keep an eye on Jared, so he won't be going to
Texas. Jared called Jessica to say he'd found better living accommodations,
while Natalie vowed to Nash and Jessica that she would Jared "unstuck" from
her family.
Friday
Viki was getting to know her new customer, Charlie, when Moe told her to
quit yapping and get back to work. Natalie gave Cristian a hard time about
Sarah's wondrous booking talents (no one but Blair had played Capricorn
since Timbaland), while Jared and Sarah sat down to their much-talked about
dinner at the Palace. John wanted to listen to jazz in the car, but Todd
wasn't in the mood for a little mood music. "Let's bond," Todd suggested
sarcastically. Marcie showed up at a flamboyant bar called Faces with Tommy,
and the bartender asked where her costume was, reminding her that it's
Halloween. Another employee approached and asked if she was Penny Shaw, the
woman hiding from the "men in black."
At the diner, Jamie was dressed as an adorable little clown, and grandma
Carlotta asked why she wasn't a princess this year. That's a "gender
stereotype," Antonio told his mom, but when Jamie was out of earshot, he
admitted that it was all part of a ploy to keep her away from Bree, since
clowns scare babies. Talia showed up at the diner all dressed in red and
black including glittery red gloves. "Are you a clown, too?" Jamie asked.
Talia giggled nervously, then apologized to Antonio and Carlotta about her
sensational outfit, giving some explanation about how she was preventing
hookers from gunning down kids. Carlotta gave Talia a hot cup of coffee and
thanked her for protecting the children. Jamie wanted Talia to join them,
especially since she's already in costume. Talia didn't want to keep wearing
her slutty outfit, so Carlotta came up with cute chef and waitress costumes
for her and Antonio.
Harvey introduced himself to Marcie, who asked if he was a friend of her
brother Eric. "I love that kid — and his husband," Harvey remarked,
adding that Eric had filled him in on Marcie's situation and he was more
than willing to help. Marcie told Harvey about her run-in with the highway
patrol and admitted that she wasn't sure how long she could keep this up
for. He assured that she could do it, considering she made it this far.
Harvey asked about Eric and James, and Marcie told him all about their
wedding and how it was a marvelous day she'll never forget. Harvey took off
to go get ready for "the big show," which involved someone named Alma.
Todd told John about his fantasies of catching Marcie. John told him to go
to sleep, but Todd kept jabbering away about that "kidnapping bitch." John
didn't hide his lack of faith in Todd's parenting skills, even bringing up
the fact that he gave away Jack to strangers. Todd explained that Blair was
really messing with his head at the time, and that he genuinely loves Tommy
and wants to bring him home. John wanted Todd to hear Marcie's side of the
story.
Viki explained to Charlie that Moe was once a Navy cook and had traveled the
world, so that's why the menu was a little bit intimidating. After she
helped him make a choice, Gigi pointed out that Charlie was pretty hot. "I
hadn't really noticed," said Viki, who turned to take another look at him.
Moe scolded Viki for spending too much time at Charlie's table, so Viki told
him to put a sock in it. Her attitude shocked Moe. Viki returned to
Charlie's table and asked how long he'd be in town for. He explained that he
has a "project" that may keep him in town for a while, so Viki recommended
the motel across the street, where she's also staying.
Natalie complained to Cristian about why he didn't try to stop Sarah from
dating Jared, but he said he already tried to talk some sense into her.
Nevertheless, Sparky had her panties all in a bunch and insisted on
"rescuing" Sarah. They agreed to flip a coin, and if it was heads, they'd go
to the Palace and keep an eye on Sarah. Meanwhile, Jared admitted to Sarah
that he'd heard her CD and that she was good, but why Flash? She didn't give
a proper answer, but said that part of her life was over and she was ready
to move on to other things. Jared then asked about Asa, and she explained
that she was really close to him at one point, but then she moved away and
didn't get to see him before he died. She also told him about the will
reading in Texas, which piqued Jared's curiosity. She wanted to talk about
the real reason he was taking her out — wasn't he interested in her
family? He admitted that he was interested in her family because of his
respect for Asa, but assured her that he was there because he's attracted to
Sarah. Just then, Natalie and Cristian walked in. The scheming exes sat down
and tried to act nonchalant, but it only egged Sarah and Jared on: Soon,
they were making out! It wasn't long before Cris and Nat were in a lip lock,
too. Suddenly, everyone was sucking face!
John got a call with a lead on Marcie's whereabouts and told Todd they were
going to Decatur. Meanwhile, the Faces bartender apologized to Marcie for
putting her off earlier. At the bar, Ramsey and two men in black were
waiting. "
