One Life To Live Recaps
OLTL Week of Sept. 13, 2010
Monday
John and Natalie met up at the firing range, where John revealed that the results of Eli's DNA test were corrupted. Natalie wondered why John needed more proof that Eli was dead.
Brody apologized for running off when Jessica told him she had had sex with Ford, and admitted he wanted to kill Ford. Jessica tried to explain that she was 17 in her mind the night she had sex with Ford. "I lost it. I don't know what I was thinking," Jessica cried. As he listened, Brody flashed back to having sex with Natalie. "I know what that's like," Brody said, then assured Jessica that he didn't blame her. "Where do we go from here?" he asked, and took out an engagement ring. Jessica began to cry. Brody assured her he would love the baby if it was Ford's, then got on one knee and proposed. Jessica smiled and fell into Brody's arm.
Dani insisted to Todd that Ross was not a murderer. "If you say so," Todd shrugged. Dani assured her father that if she reached out to Ross, it wouldn't mean Todd would lose her. As someone watched them, Dani showed Todd the text message that she thought was from Ross. The sender was blocked, and Dani thought it was Ross. When Todd said he wished he had been around when Dani was little, Dani assured Todd she considers him her father. "Really?" Todd said. Dani said started to call Todd "dad" just as Ross showed up at their door.
A shocked Greg walked into a room to find injured Eli. "You alive!" he gasped. "You were expecting someone else?" a weary Eli replied. Greg said there wasn't a chance in hell that Eli could have survived a shooting and a fire. "It's too bad Tea couldn't come back from the dead, too," Eli quipped, then said he'd summoned Greg because he needed the doctor's help.
John didn't understand why Eli had let Blair find her gun. As John and Natalie acted out Eli's shooting, Eli told Greg that the gun Blair had found had blanks in it. He added that Ross helped him with his plan and that Eli had intentionally started the fire. "I wasn't counting on John McBain," he said. Viewers saw the scene where Ross saved Eli but a roof fell on him anyway. When Eli got up, Ross replaced him with a dead body, planting Eli's passport and wedding photo on the corpse.
Destiny explained to Shaun that Greg wasn't at dinner because he had to "clear his head." When Vivian asked Destiny and Darren if they were having safe sex, the kids refused to say whether they were having sex. As an uncomfortable Shaun squirmed, Vivian offered to set Destiny up with anything she needed to have safe sex. Darren promised that he wouldn't do anything to hurt Destiny. "She's the most wonderful person I have ever met," beamed Darren. Darren and Destiny agreed they weren't ready yet, but Shaun was upset that Vivian "practically gave permission for them to have sex." Vivian admitted that Shaun's mother had asked her to broach the topic.
Cris was ready to turn down the offer to be artist in residence/teacher at LU but Layla told the official not to listen, and insisted that he accept the grant. Instead, she'd turn down her Paris job offer. Cris said that she'd be going to Paris. "You are a very talented designer. I can paint anywhere," Cris said. Layla pointed out that the grant would get Cris the buyers and commissions he wants. "What about us?" Cris wondered. Layla thought she should take the job in Paris and Cris should take the grant. "It can work," Cris said. Layla didn't think they should get married.
Tuesday
At Rodi's, Gigi fretted to Rex that she felt insecure about her college classes. Rex gave her a pep talk, but Gigi wanted out. Her lack of college prep was humiliating, explained Gigi. "These children, they know stuff. They're excited and eager and ready to debate ideas," she groaned. "You deserve a bigger world, and our son deserves to watch you try, and succeed," Rex urged. "I know you can do this." Gigi agreed to give it a try, and toasted her decision with Cris and Layla, who talked her into taking a class with Cris.
After reading online reports about David, a despondent Dorian hid under the covers when Kelly arrived to remind her she had a meeting with Bo. Kelly bullied/cajoled her aunt out of bed.
Inez interrupted Bo and Nora at the Palace to say she'd gotten a note instructing her to meet Mr. Buchanan. Clint showed up to explain, "That was me." Bo was distracted by the sight of Clint and Inez enjoying their meal. "All the women in this town, and he has to go out with my assistant?" asked Bo. Clint deserved a shot at happiness, argued Nora. Dorian arrived and joined Bo and Nora to discuss slashing the police budget, but as they discussed the situation she imagined Bo and Nora mocking her about David. "How dare you!" screeched Dorian, and tossed a glass of wine on the baffled couple. "David stomped on her heart," Dorian raged before storming out. "All the Cramer women are a little loosely packed," Clint explained to a confused Inez. Back home, Dorian crawled back into bed and Kelly assured her she had nothing to be ashamed of. As Dorian read new online dirt about David's (fake) whereabouts, Clint explained his online activity at the restaurant as "updating his page."
An injured Eli demanded that Greg to check him out. "I have more work to do in Llanview," he said ominously. After running tests, Greg informed his irascible patient he had a problem: He'd suffered major trauma, and had pressure on his brain. "Worst case scenario, you could die," Greg explained. Another option? Severe brain damage. At the very least he needs to be carefully monitored, and may need brain surgery. Eli insisted he had to get back to Llanview, and accused Greg of trying to keep him away. "My brother's about to come into something very valuable," Eli explained.
Dani ran into Ross's arms. "Daddy's here," Ross said in front of a glaring Todd, who placed a call to Bo to inform him about fugitive Ross's whereabouts. Dani begged Todd to put down the phone. Todd gave Ross two minutes to explain himself, including how he helped his "psycho killer brother." Ross insisted he hadn't known what Eli was up to. Todd kicked Ross out, but Ross insisted, "I'm not going anywhere without my daughter."
Layla argued that she didn't want to rush her wedding to Cris just because she had to leave for Paris. Cris expressed regrets about their decision to live apart for a year. "It's not like we won't see each other at all," pointed out Layla. "If we really want it to work out, then it will." Whatever it takes, they'll get through it, vowed Cris.
Wednesday
Nora told Bo she wanted to stay and have dessert — Baked Alaska — with Inez and Clint. When Inez begged off, Clint accused Bo of scaring off his date. Was Bo angry at him for asking Inez out or giving Matthew the internship? wondered Clint. "Inez is a grown woman and she can make her own decisions," Bo replied. Rex interrupted to ask if they knew where David was. "What does Kelly want with Vickers?" Clint asked pointedly. Outside, Clint grabbed Rex and demanded, "Don't you think everyone would be better off if David Vickers stays gone?" Meanwhile, Nora hoped that Clint was moving on with his life. Bo begged Nora to get over her guilt about Clint (who stuck Bo with the dinner check).
At Todd's, Ross showed Todd Téa's will, which said that Ross should get custody of Dani. A visibly upset Todd insisted that Ross leave his house. When Ross explained that Eli had drawn up the will called it a scam. Ross claimed he hadn't known about the will and had just gotten a copy himself. Todd placed a phone call to Blair. Ross told Dani they would be together forever, but Todd reminded him that he was wanted by the Washington State police.
At Rodi's, Kelly told Rex that David was bragging about his conquests on myface, and Dorian wants to get back at him. After sharing the story of Dorian's meltdown at The Palace, Kelly suggested Dorian wanted closure and asked Rex to bring David back so Dorian could dump him. Rex took the case so he could help with Gigi's tuition bill.
In Dorian's bedroom, Blair floated the idea of having Téa's memorial service at La Boulaie, and asked Dorian to help with the reception — all the Cramer women had to be there for Dani. Dorian told Blair about her meeting with Bo and Nora at The Palace. Kelly arrived and apologized for pushing Dorian back into the world too quickly. "You can wallow all you want," Kelly said, then offered to role play so Dorian could give David a piece of her mind. Punching a pillow as hard as she could made Dorian feel better, but she lamented that she'd never get to tell David off. "You never know," Blair hinted.
Blair arrived at Todd's and was stunned to see Ross. Todd showed her Téa's will. "Todd, her father, was supposed to have custody. You weren't even in the picture," Blair insisted. Ross reminded them it was a legal document. A visibly upset Dani asked which of them was lying, and Blair was adamant: Téa had wanted Todd to have custody of Dani. As Todd dialed the police, Dani begged him to hang up.
John and Natalie entered Eli's room at the Palace. Renee wondered what there was to investigate, since Eli was dead. As Natalie and John went over the room carefully, John made it clear to Natalie that she wasn't going to Tahiti. "I think I can manage. You are pregnant, you shouldn't be flying anywhere," he said over Natalie's objections. Natalie agreed to stay home. "Baby comes first," she said with a smile. John got a call from Todd asking him to come over right away. Renee congratulated Natalie on the pregnancy and reminded her that Asa loved her very much. "I wish he could be here to see this," Natalie sighed. Renee mentioned that Eli had left lots of tips for the staff in sealed envelopes. Natalie wondered if there might be one of the envelopes lying around (to get Eli's DNA). "They always made a fatal mistake," Natalie said with a smile, holding an envelope.
Blair reminded Dani about how Ross held them hostage in Seattle,. "What he did with your mother's will is wrong," Blair added. "It's time I faced the music but I'll never turn my back on you again," Ross vowed. John showed up and Ross was handcuffed. John called the Seattle PD to report, "We've got a fugitive in custody." Dani glared at Todd as John learned that the charges had been dropped. Dani was overjoyed; Todd and Blair, not so much.
Eli told Greg that Ross was about to get something very special — a girl (Dani). Ross and Todd were probably discussing the will at that very moment, grinned Eli, and explained how he'd tricked Téa into signing over custody of Dani to Ross. "You are playing with someone's life," Greg cried. Eli wondered if things were getting too uncomfortable for Greg. "You can walk," Eli said, but suggested he stay and fix Eli's head and injuries instead. Greg didn't see how wanted criminal Ross could just take Dani out of Llanview. Eli just smiled. Greg reminded Eli that he has a time bomb in his head, adding he had to return to Llanview, "before anyone knows where I've been." Eli reminded Greg of what might happen if Greg was "playing" him.
Thursday
Langston charged into Dorian's bedroom looking for her mom but ran into Kelly instead. Langston admitted to Kelly that she was thisclose to giving Ford another chance, and was annoyed to learn Kelly knew about Ford and Jessica. Kelly suggested that Langston get control of her feelings, adding that Dorian wasn't in any shape to offer her advice. Kelly's advice? "Don't get mad, get even."
Jessica informed Natalie that Brody had told her everything that happened "between the two of you." Natalie's eyes nearly popped out of her head. "He did?" she sputtered, before realizing Jess was referring to how Natalie had helped Brody figure out what to do. Jessica showed Natalie the ring and the two sisters hugged.
Starr and Cole showed up at Rodi's for a date night and spotted James and Ford. Cole insisted James' presence didn't bother him as James assured his brother that he had gotten over Starr. Cole didn't seem to mind when Starr told him she'd be in the same class as James. He'd decided to trust in their love, Cole explained. Langston called Ford and begged to see him; after they agreed to meet at his place, Ford handed James money for their meal and headed home, where Langston pulled him into a kiss. Ford was thrilled when Langston said she wanted to be with him. They agreed to keep their new relationship a secret. "We'll make it work," he vowed, and started kissing her. Langston pulled away, then picked up her video camera, having gotten the whole kiss on tape.
Rex told Gigi that Kelly had hired him to track down David as a closure/revenge plan for Dorian, and wondered if Gigi was jealous of all the time he would be spending with Kelly. Gigi reminded him that he had spent some time with Kelly without his clothes on. Later, Rex showed up as Kelly was about to take a bath, and her towel fell off. Donning a robe, Kelly asked Rex if he had found David. Rex suggested Clint might have something to do with David's disappearance, and Rex wondered if Kelly really wanted him to go after her son's great grandfather. She wanted Rex to pursue Clint, said Kelly, promising to try to figure out a way to get Rex in BE offices after hours.
As Ross started to leave Todd's house with Dani, John had to keep the two dads from coming to blows. John took a look at Tea's will and saw a problem. Before leaving, he ordered a uniformed cop to put a tail on Rayburn. Dani wasn't going to Tahiti with Ross. Todd insisted. Dani agreed — she had friends in Llanview. He wasn't leaving town until the custody situation was resolved, said Ross. Todd said he'd pay for Ross' room at The Palace. Later, Blair poured Todd a drink and they agreed to find the second best lawyer they could find (Tea being the first).
Jessica told Kelly that Brody had been upset about the baby possibly not being his at first, but now was okay with it. She wasn't so sure she'd be so understanding if the shoe was on the other foot, Jess noted, then called herself the luckiest girl in the whole wide world.
After Brody told Natalie he could live with their secret, John walked in on them hugging. Natalie pulled away and Brody headed back to Jessica's. John let Natalie know that Eli got all the charges against Ross dropped, and said he thought Ross' arrival in Llanview meant that Eli was alive. Natalie told John about the sealed envelopes and the evidence she'd sent to the lab. John said he'd have to go to Tahiti but regretted having to leave Natalie behind.
Gigi asked James if he applied for the grant. Since Ford is on faculty, he gets a free ride, said James. Cole approached James' table to ask him why he was still there. Starr overheard James reminding Cole that Cole had asked him to back off Starr. "What? Did you really do that?" Starr asked. Cole had just told him how much he loves Starr, James lied. "Not cool," Starr snapped to Cole, but assured him that he was the only guy for her.
Friday
Starr signed the guest book at Téa's funeral. Blair joined her and they regarded the huge photo of Téa. They discussed how strange it was that Blair and Téa had gotten so close.
Danielle introduced Nate to Ross and Ross made Dani squirm when he noted that Nate is his daughter's boyfriend. He wanted to get to know the young man. Todd joined them and said that Ross is leaving town — alone. The men argued over who should get to raise Dani, but Starr broke it up. Starr was certain that Todd would get custody of Dani. She refused to let anyone take her new sister away from the family. However, Ross was certain that Dani would end up with him.... Langston arrived and told Blair that she was sorry for Téa's death and for Blair getting duped by Eli. Blair warned that this was a lesson for Langston to learn about Ford. Langston insisted that they were fine. She asked Blair if Blair wished at all that Eli weren't dead so she could make him feel miserable. "You have no idea," Blair responded.
John gave Natalie a foot massage and they talked about Dani. Nat felt badly for Todd and didn't understand how Ross could end up with Dani. They wanted to prove that Eli is alive. John was concerned about her and the baby, but Nat insisted that she's fine. John showed her the wedding band that had been taken off the body; Nat concluded that Eli put the ring on the body and they could use the DNA on it to prove if he was still alive. They went to the lab to check it out. Later, John noted that she seemed shaky and she blamed her shoes. He took her home. As soon as she sat down on his bed, she let out a big yawn. He urged her to take a nap, but she wanted to find out if Eli was dead or alive. Later, they got the results back from the lab and learned that the DNA on the ring didn't match the body, meaning that Clarke was alive.
A hospitalized Eli called Greg and Greg told him that he needed more time. Eli complained that he's sick of being "dead" and needed a clean bill of health. Greg told him he needs to keep still if he wants his brain to heal; Eli accused Greg of trying to stall him. Greg said that he'd meet up with him when he was able to. After, Shaun asked who Greg was speaking with, but Greg lied that it was an associate. Shaun didn't entirely believe him and noted that Greg had been acting "shady" at Téa's memorial. He feared that Greg was in trouble and offered to help him. Greg implored him to butt out. Shaun reminded his brother that he's there if Greg needs him.
Ross called Eli, who informed him that he took care of Téa's will. Eli assured Ross that Dani would be his again soon.... Starr and Dani commiserated over how awful custody battles were. Starr assured her little sister that she'd be okay.... Blair reamed out Ross for speaking on his cell phone in the church.... Todd wanted to say one last good-bye to Téa. He then asked Ross how much money it would take to get Ross to leave town without Dani. Ross was incredulous that Todd was trying to buy him off. "Take the money or you're a dead man," Todd warned. He then grabbed a gun and pointed it at Ross. Ross asked how Todd would be a father while he's in prison; Todd replied that he's not going to prison. Ross thought that Todd was bluffing with the gun. Blair interrupted and demanded that Todd not kill someone who Dani loves. "She'll get over it," Todd shrugged. "No she won't!" Blair argued. "I made a promise to Téa that I would be a mother to Dani and I always keep my promises." Later, Blair and Todd spoke aloud to Téa's spirit, asking for guidance. "I can't do this without you, Téa," Todd sighed. "Just come back to me."
James asked Ford if he and Langston made up and Ford confirmed it. Ford insisted that he's serious about her. Later, Starr and Langston arrived for Ford's class, but he was interrupted when the dean came to see him. She took him outside and asked if he was involved with Langston, but he denied it. She then showed him photos that were taken of him kissing Langston — that were dated from the night before. The dean said that she had to let Ford go for breaking the rules, then took over his class. James asked what happened to his brother and the dean actually revealed that Ford had had inappropriate conduct with a student. Way to be discreet! Later, Starr couldn't believe that Ford had been with "another student." "You might say that," James said, then revealed that Ford had been with Langston. Later, Langston found Ford outside and wondered how the dean found out about them. He was curious who took photos. She suggested that it had been someone he'd hurt — then revealed that she was the one.
Nate and Langston went for a walk so she could get away from her two dads. He wished she could've spent more time with her mom; she felt badly for him that he didn't have a dad around. Dani noted that Téa stated in her will that she wanted Ross to be her father. Nate wondered which man she'd choose. Dani didn't know for sure if the will was for real. "What do you want?" Nate pressed. Dani answered that she was thrilled to see Ross, but wasn't so sure she wanted to leave town with him. "Is it because of Todd?" Nate asked. Dani said that Todd was pretty cool and would've done anything for her mom. "I got to know the real him," she explained, adding that she has family and friends in Llanview — as well as a Nate. They kissed. She wished that both of her dads could be in town — and that her mom were still alive.
Todd kept begging Téa's spirit to come back to him... Just as Greg was visiting Téa!
