Ford was furious about the Cutter/Tess marriage, since it cost him his leverage in winning back custody of his son. James was horrified to hear the whole Starr-thought-Hope-was-dead-because-Tess/Bess/Jessica-had-taken-her story.

Aubrey and Joey celebrated the fact that Ryder was finally asleep. They agreed that it would take Ryder a while to get used to them. Aubrey dodged Joey's questions about her childhood, saying she had been raised by a mean nanny. Joey and Aubrey freaked out when they heard about the Cutter/Tess marriage, but for different reasons. Cutter showed up and Joey grabbed him. "We're just one big happy family," Cutter, said adding that he was after the Buchanan fortune.

As Natalie started to listen to the tape of Marty's session, Brody barged in with news about Cutter and Tess' marriage. They wondered what was up with that marriage and bemoaned the fact they had both lost the people they loved. They started kissing, which they immediately regretted and agreed to pretend it never happened. Brody admitted that he'd had to start fighting dirty for Jessica. Natalie began listening to that tape again and learned that John was the father of her baby.

When Kelly wanted to have sex with John in the office, he told her she just wanted to escape from something. "Am I that transparent?" Kelly asked. John wondered if they really were beginning to care about each other. Marty eavesdropped as they planned to get together — and Kelly called her a bitch. Kelly showed up at John's ready to make dinner only to find a crazy-looking Marty lurking behind the door.

Starr and James began to make love, but were interrupted by Ford. Brody came to Tess' room at the Minuteman Motel and promptly arrested her.
