I saw it too, thought it was very poignant, melancholy. Did they really smuggle Mom out of the hospital to the beach, or was that just an imagined thing because Mom loved that place on the beach?

My husband died from the same thing and I think that bringing Ann to the beach was realistic, cause at that point nothing else can be done, so just make her/him happy at how ever they want to leave their loved ones.
