What's up with his Jersey Shore accent and then his
ridiculous, I'm cultured and refined alter ego? Please,
somebody get rid of him, this is dragging on a bit. I like Daniel
B. but this character doesn't do anything for me at all.
I'm probaby in a minority but I like him. Totally loved the way he got knee deep in Dante's azz today. I also love the way he torments Brenda causing her to inch closer to that edge I'm waiting patiently for her to fall off of. I'm looking forward to seeing the darker side of him once the kidnapping of Brenda happens.
Well, I hope SOMETHING happens! They are dragging this out too long & all these supposedly intelligent characters are all doing & saying things that go completely against their character. What happened to Jason's investigation of Theo? Since when does he blindly trust anyone? Especially someone you can see he dislikes intensely. Not to mention the way Theo goes off on a rant everytime he discusses Alexander's death. He's acting like what he is...a vengeful father. His behavior should trigger some brain activity in Jason, even if Dante's too dumb to put 2 & 2 together. Jason, Lucky & Dante...None of them like or trust this guy, yet they spill their guts to him simply because one of Diane's New York law partners (that she never had until Theo popped up) faxed over a fantastic resume? Maybe the PCPD brain freeze makes Dante open his yap constantly, but no mobster, esp. one like Jason would say more than 5 words to that guy, "Diane is my lawyer. Not you." Jason always checks people out before he trusts him with anything. And, he would never leave Brenda alone with someone he doesn't trust.I hope the payoff is worth all this boring nonsense. Esp. this all powerful, elusive mob boss posing as germ obsessed, nerd lawyer using a dumb girl to get information out of a cop that already suspects she's involved. I really have trouble believing he'd go through all this when Diane tells him everything already. Now, with the hunky black Jason clone around to stimulate her, she's sure to spill everything she hears to Theo making his continued use of suddenly spineless Siobhan even more ridiculous. The one good thing there is that Lucky was smart enough to lie to Siobhan about the location of the wedding. Of course, it probably got Siobhan's sister killed & pretty much guarantees he'll be sleeping alone again. So, I really hope the big February event is worth all of this.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Since everybody seems to be so clueless about the Balkan, I'm still waiting for someone, ANYONE to talk to Morgan about his little visit from his baldness. As upset as Morgan was by that visit, you'd think he would have told his mom (preferably his DAD) about what he told him. This guy creeps everybody out and as smart as he thinks he is, he slips all the time -- if everybody would get together and compare notes... duh... enuf already -- great actor, but as everyone else agrees ... BORING
It just occured to me that Siobhan must be sort of dumb not to recognize the Balkan's rather distinctive voice as being the same as Theo's.
Siobhan is a female written by Bob Guza. She will never be smart. 'nuff said.
Quote:It just occured to me that Siobhan must be sort of dumb not to recognize the Balkan's rather distinctive voice as being the same as Theo's. Exactly! Even though he lamely tries to disguise it in the church it still has that distinction.
I'm confused now. I thought that the Balkan was focused on Brenda because of revenge for his son's death and because he wanted to find out about his grandchild. Are we, now, to believe that Theo's obsession is with Sonny? All this time, I've never even once considered that it had anything to do with Sonny, besides him being semi-involved as Brenda's husband and Dante's father. Is it because Sonny is an egomaniac, and thinks that he's the center of every situation, or is he right about Theo being after him? Clarification would be much appreciated.
For once this has absolutely nothing to do with Sonny I just think he so use to everything being his fault that he is blaming himself for this I have no idea maybe it is his Ego who knows. I just want this whole Balkan crap to be over why don't the man believe his grandchild is dead and if it is alive Brenda dont know crap about it he may wanna talk to his wife. I am so over this story line actually I am pretty much over all the storylines lol
Thanks, Rita... More Franco would be a nice change of pace. jmo
I'm still trying to figure out why they bothered to bring Franco back for two days to really do nothing more than promote the Oscars. I was hoping that he would bring more to the story. In the brief time that he was there, it was hard to get a handle on how much he was involved in the car bombing and if he is connected to Theo. Who actually had the bomb planted? The whole car bombing story doesn't track. The thug that tried to kill Sean told Dante that a man was in the limo with a drugged Sam and then drugged Brenda and got her out. There was no reason for anyone to think that Luke would stop Sonny from getting into the limo at the last minute to give him a gift. If he had gotten into the limo with Brenda, the drugging and switching could never have taken place.I agree that Theo has to go. He is really good at being incredibly evil, but it's done, it's over, let's move on. It looks like they are setting him up to be killed off in a really big fashion, which is the only way to go since now everyone in the world knows that he's the Balkin and without anonimity, he's just another crime boss. This obsession with his grandson leads me to believe that the baby might still be alive, but he needs to be pushing his wife for the answer, not Brenda. That's the problem anymore, if a new character appears to be working, they are kept on whether the storyline calls for it or not. Case in point, Lisa. That story is so over, but she continues to be around. If Theo is that much of a success, let him get away, like Franco, to come back and haunt another day. Franco, Helena and Jerry show up from short periods to spice things up and it works.
As does daddy Zacara. We get every now and then shots of him in prison. I think Lisa and her smiling friend need to go way before the Balkin.
"I think Lisa and her smiling friend need to go way before the Balkin"Gosh YES!!!!
ITA about Lisa & Dr. Smiley. But, Destiny, I'm sorry. Yesterday, the Balkan proved to be what I've thought he was from the start... a little girl who hides behind a woman. Sorry, but there's nothing cool about a man who uses a woman as a shield. At his worst, Sonny never hid behind a woman. About the only good thing Balkan did was give Brenda that neurotoxin simply because it shut her up. The one I feel the sorriest for was the little gnome who tried to save her & got knifed in the back. Too bad he didn't turn out to be a relative of Spinelli. Both of them together would really drive Sonny nuts.
Yea, I was real disappointed in the Balkin using his wife as a shield. He should have used Brenda instead and he should have gave the neurotoxin syringe to Robin to use on Lisa. I guess you ain't my boy no more Balk
LMAO!!! That I would've loved to have seen!
So how surprising was yesterday's final scene between Suzanne and Theo? Never saw that one coming. She is a force to be reckoned with. Talk about a mother protecting her child and grandchild.
The Balkan's throat was slit by his wife so he's gone.
Don't be so sure...In an interview w Michael Logan of TV Guide, Guza alludes to the fact that we might not have seen the last of him. After reading the article, I can only continue to say that Guza needs to go!!!! He just so does not get what people want to watch. Nor does he know how to write for anyone expect his pets.

ITA! He's boring. I've been a viewer at least as long as Sonny's enemies have been coming to Port Chuck & of all of them, he's the dullest & least interesting. Sorell was more interesting. I don't know how DB can stand playing this part.
