Robin Strasser Speaks Out!

Digest spoke to OLTL's Robin Strasser (Dorian) today and here's what she had to say: "I've only been on Twitter for 32 hours and I'm nearing 3,000 followers so the service is now properly scared of what will happen! I was forced to make myself learn how to use Twitter. I just had blood in my eyes.... When Brian Frons makes this size decision, he shoots down thousands of New York City jobs.... If I were thanking anyone, I'd be sure to put Frank Valentini [Executive Producer] up there because he saved money, brought us in under budget and raised the standards of our production. If you're gonna thank anyone, I would be thanking Frank Valentini. That is who deserves the credit. [Brian Frons] is bullying hundreds of employees and he's destroying the lives and livelihood of families. Additionally, by dissing and disrespecting the audiences that love us, he puts himself in peril. I know the people who care about the audience. I know about people whose integrity is unquestioned — Erika Slezak [Viki] is chief among them and Frank Valentini.... You cannot proudly present a new endeavor when you have spit on the audience. You cannot. They will bite you back, and don't you love it about them?"

Thanks Robin

Robin, I have watched you for years on OLTL and Passions  and loved every minute you are on the screen. Thank you for speaking out... I saw in TV Guide that Barbara Walters wanted Brian Frons to make another View  but with men...OMG retire Barbara and stop taking credit for the soaps demise...

I  hope with all the fan support we can save these  shows it is unbelievable what this man is thinking and I find offense that someone sitting in an office thinks I need MORE help shows when is enough enough?   I have watched OLTL and AMC since the beginning and do not want to  have an opportunity to miss them at all...Do you think this could be a publicity stunt just to see what we will all do???  HEY ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE..

One Life to Live

Robin you are so right. I think that all the fans that watched AMC and OLTL should not watch the food and lifestyle shows that are going to replace our soaps. I hope that those 2 shows get nobody watching them and ABC loses money.

One Life to Live

Robin, thanks so much!  You and Tuc Watkins are so funny and sexy together. Dorian and Viki brought so much wonderful stories to light.  We, the fans are so very grateful to all of the actors and writers for the fine work given to us on One Life to Live.  This cancellation is just plain sad!

... hoover, nobody does it like you!

That is hoovers jingle, isn't it?! A sponsor who ldives up to their advertising! I will do them justice & back them up by 1) buying their products (I need a new vacuum), 2) boycotting sponsors who refuse to 'hoover' up, & 3) boycotting abc & the family channel. I can barely count on two hands the number of shows I watch on those two networks combined. I'm so tired of abc cancelling shows after I get hooked on them because the ratings aren't where they should be, or the shows are too expensive to keep cranking out. Isn't that their shortcoming?! Shouldn't they have to suffer for that?! Not the viewers! Manage your budgets & produce shows that will produce ratings! That's your job! Where I work, people get fired for not doing their job. Apparently, at abc, its the unsuspecting, hardworking, cogs that get the axe! ABC stands for 'a bad company'!

Strasser Brass

Ms Strasser has in large proportion the cajones that herr frons so obviously lacks. (how polite) Someone should inform the mickeymouse corporate tool that there are easier ways to get vip seating at one of batali's chain of over-hyped eateries. ABC will soon stand for 'All Brainless Cackle' (about SELF) all the time. Who cares that the fine art of 'STORYTELLING' dates back to the ages when a fire to sit around was the only form of entertainment. Herr frons thinks he knows better..."I'm smaaart" (Fredo).  I love a good fight, but i am so heartsick that the overly talented actors, writers, and behind the scenes production crews all have to be put through this corporate gauntlet-run. It is truly disgusting and abhorrent and only serves to show how oafish and greedy network execs really are. (the Soaps were the one example where the imposition of a business framework on an artform atually was worked out to be a win-win..and did for 40+yrs) Once again, proof-positive that 'corporations' are not people and have no rights to 'personhood'. They are the un-naturally animated frankenstein monster run amok on our society in general, and in specific don't give one moment for your 'feelings'. It is sociopathic behaviour. Herr frons makes 'Todd' look like an amateur.

Amen Robin! Enough said!!!

Call to Action

You certainly hit the nail on the head!  Good for you to point out the reality of job loss.  I wonder if any pressure can be brought to bear by any officials in New York.  I realize it may have to be informal pressure, but as you say, look at the economic impact. And, as you say your producer has brought you in under budget and with pay cut to boot.

Here is my dilemma--there are so many calls to action, a petition, emails, phone calls, a boycott, etc. I am not even sure if the word has gotten out to everyone about this.  If it weren't for my husband hearing it on the news I never would have known.  So   1.  how to get the word out to the fans that dont go on websites, but just WATCH the show   and 2.  how to coordinate the efforts.

I wish someone really good at political organizing would step forth and get us millions of fans organized.  I have sent emails, made phone calls, signed petitions and I sure as heck will not only boycott on April 26, but until this decision is changed I will ONLY watch OLTL (no offense AMC, just not my cup of tea) and only OLTL, ie no Dancing with the Stars and whatever dribble I might have watched before.

Any fans out there REALLY good at coordinating efforts?  Lead me and I will follow.

Thanks Robin for being a class act and such a brilliant actress.

Thank you

Robin, I would like to thank you for speaking your mind. I also want to thank you for many years of your amazing performances.  I'm still in shellshock of this news.  I hope that Disney/ABC changes their minds. AMC/OLTL have been a constant part of my life, that I can't imagine not being there. I've made friends just becuase of my great memory of the soaps.

OLTL

Good for you Robin for speaking out and being honest.  Fellow castmates I hear are kissing ass.  Problem is they are kissing the wrong ass.  There is not anyone more loyal then soap fan viewers!!!  Brian Frons must know by now what a bad decision he has made and it is not to late to change his mind.  Let's hope for everyones sake he does!!

Cancellation of ABC soaps!

its to bad Robin that some people are just to deaf or blind to see or understand what we are thinking or even know!   Brian Frons lied about so much stuff that anything that comes out of his mouth is nothing but lies.  He has embarrased and humitilated (sp?) you all there with his lies. here what some of your fans are saying at you tube:     http://youtu.be/loWhod7FpL8

We are boycotting and protesting ABC Studios across America on April 26!  We will not stop or let down like Brian thinks we will. NO! we will win and Brian will loose!  After all, without us, no sponsors. NO sponsors, no shows!

Good luck...and we hope you all will fight with us!

You are so right, Robin.  We

You are so right, Robin.  We BITE !!  He is making such a BAD decision.  I am hurting because I won't be able to look forward to enjoying my soaps after a hard day of work, but I know all of you are hurting much more because you are losing your jobs.  This is just WRONG ! Hopefully, he will reverse this decision, otherwise ABC will lose untold numbers of viewers.

...andhoover bites back!

...andhoover bites back!
