of Jerica the present writers just reduced their history and the character of Jack to the complexity of an amoeba.
Jack has/had scruples and a legal mind that was capable of looking at both sides in order to understand the whys and wherefores of a case and of Erica. All he could think of today was his daughter. You know his daughter, the one that got this ball rolling with David. the one that wanted revenge on everyone who had the audacity to go on with their lives because they thought she was dead? The daughter that kidnapped Spike and lied about it and had Jack, an officer of the court, cover for her. The daughter that is directly responsible for Zach's death.The daughter that is keeping the secret that Madison is having Ryan's baby from him because it will ruin her life. That daughter!
When Kendall wanted revenge against her, after the kidnapping and maiming of Spike and Ian's premature birth both caused by Greenlee, Kendall was asked by Jack to to do the right thing, but not Greenlee. Noooo! Jack has been reduced to a narrow minded, hypocritcal, judgmental SOB.
He reduced Erica Kane to tears. Since when is Erica Kane such a wimp? I hope they will have Erica stand up tall, all two feet of her, and tell off Jack happy a$$, and renumerate all of the things mentioned above to him to give him some food for thought. But since his mind had atrophied and become a one cell wonder , I doubt he'll have the capacity to comprehend it at all. Now I suppose Krystal the other biggest hypocrite and kidnapper in town will make a play for him.
I feel sorry for Walt Willey and what the writers have done to his character. Jack has a long and passionate history with Erica, but ever since they made Greenlee his daughter, his character has just deteriorated in order to pimp Frons' inordinate bias towrds the character of Greenlee and the actress that portrays her. Note if you will that she and of course Cameron Mathison are both on Castle. There are other soap stars on ABC Frons! Ones that fans want to see especially in light of the fact this show stars Nathan Fillion an alum of OLTL , not AMC. But no, now even the primetime audience of Castle has to suffer what the daytimers do everyday, Rylee. If ABC thinks they are going to get me to watch, think again, I watch all time, but that night I will switch to Miami Vice. Why must they pollute even primetime?
Why must Jack be reduced to an idiot to pimp Greenlee? Wouldn't a real father see his daughter's flaws and mistakes and help her correct them instead of enable her?

Great posts both of you.....Cararn, I'm glad you started this thread......Thank you...ITA with everything you said, most especially, that Jack has been ruined since TPTB decided to strap him with that vile, green gnat as a daughter...I don't have a problem with Jackass wanting to protect GL....but I do have a problem with his treatment of Erica & Kendall.....I watched those scenes yesterday & prayed that TPTB would allow Erica to unlease...I waited to hear Erica throw this back in Jack's self-righteous, hypocritical, judgemental, Ryan lavery like face...I wanted Erica to tell Jack to STFU....I wanted her to remind him of how he has lied, covered, done exactly the same thing for GL, only at the expense of KEndall..I wanted her to remind Jackass that when GL kidnapped Spike, almost killed both Kendall's kids, stalked & terrorized KEndall while her children were fighting for thier lives, that Jack not only covered for her, but enabled her to do it....Jack never once told that thing to follw her conscious & do the right thing.... He never does....When Jack was whinning, "What about GL" all I could think of is.....GL, the witch that set this ish into motion... Who got a free pass for her vile crimes, who is planning a wedding to Ryan, while David is raked over the coals for GL's bad deeds..... GL who can stand up for herself... GL whose isn't grieving a dead husband, trying to rasie 2 children, has serious heart problems, and everyone still piling thier ish into her lap...Jack made me sick yesterday.....Jack is yet another character ruined, run down by Frons "GL redemption bus...I want Erica to kick him to the curb, move on with a "REAL" man... .One who will have her kids back.....One who will love Kendall unconditionally...Unlike Jack who has absolutley no use for Kendall unless it is to lick GL's backside..Thank you TPTB for showing me once again that Erica & the Kanes deserve better than Jack "Ryan Lavery II" Montgomery....
Better call the casting department because if Erica moves on I certainly hope it isn't with Caleb! Yuck!

While I agree with your post, I have to add that IMO not many of the recent writers have made much sense when it came to Greenlee. She ( like Ryan ) pollute all the characters that they touch - with their own form of obnoxious righteousness..and all the other characters suffer. Jack is no exception. Here's another good actor and character that have been for me forever ruined...because of bad writing in the name of Greenlee.Greenlee always gets the pass that Kendall doesn't. Kendall is judged and Greenlee gets excused. I don't get it AT ALL. For what? It doesn't bring in high ratings, it doesn't sit well with the majority of viewers or reviewers.... but it has never changed with any writer under the current regime at AMC.And sadly I see little hope for ABC soaps because of it. I keep hearing soaps are a dying breed - but I didn't expect that's because they are being murdered.
