I've seen rumors in places that they are stepping back on Luke and Noah's romance. Right now, they aren't even letting them kiss and this has been since March. The only thing they have done recently is chastely held hands. The other thing is they keep talking about getting an apartment, but it doesn't seem to be happening. If they wanted to they would just move in right away. Have they decided to stop the kissing and everything because of GL's cancellation. Now they are afraid of what might happen?
I don't think they're stepping back on Noah and Luke's romance in the least. On air, they're stronger than ever and clearly a team. They're not kissing in scenes with their parents, which I totally understand...I'd feel weird kissing in front of my mom and dad!
Editing to add, DMR has a point...GL has no bearing on ATWT's handling of gay issues. Especially since Otalia has only kissed once, and that was only for Olivia to prove a point to Nat. In fact, Liv and Nat are the reigning queens of chaste hand holding.
I agree that they are stronger than ever and I think they're a great team. Sometimes it's one thing to say they are a strong couple, but you have to show it. Instead of the PSA and foundation talk, they should let Luke and Noah date and act like guys their ages act. I also agree with the other poster that there is a difference in the affection shown between them and other couples. II know it's weird to kiss in front of your parents and I'm not looking for a kiss in every episode. I think it's reasonable to expect that after you have almost died, you would want to at least hug the love of your life. As for Otalia, they may have only kissed once. They have had more intimate moments and physical affection than Luke and Noah have ever had even before they fell for each other. Natalia even had her head pressed against Olivia's chest while they cuddled. You don't see Luke and Noah cuddling like that. Plus, they live together. Luke and Noah keep talking about it, but that's all it is.
Actually, Luke and Noah did this exact cuddling thing during the last scene of the "Cubs Game" episode this past week. I have seen the source of this rumor, and it's from the same board that is teeming with posters who knowingly start false rumors like this one just to stir up the masses. The best thing to do is not to worry about what is said and not to give those rumors any credence. And actually, Luke and Noah of late are the single most affectionate couple ATWT has.

Yup, they most certainly did cuddle during the Cubs game episode. Not to mention that they were all giggly and couple-y today -- complete with a kiss.
Oh I agree they were cute today. However, it still seems like they hold back on it more than other couples. I'm looking for some relationship development and intimacy from a couple who have been together for awhile. The only time we see them lately is when they are in some life threatening situation. Even Noah made a joke about it. I will say I loved Noah taking charge on the docks. That was a new side to him. I just wish Luke and Noah explored that line of conversation further instead of there being a throwaway line about how he had Saturday shoot practice with Winston.

It was nice to see the boys finally kiss for the first time in a month. But the affection continues to be held back a little. I guess that's to be expected. Unfortunately, relationship development and intamacy for the boys is always sacrificed for the contrived plots they have to go through. There's never any payoff. For instance, after that Zac and Zoe storyline (which I actually enjoyed) the hospital scene was a huge letdown. I just wanted to see them relax and express their love for each other. But within seconds, they were, as usual, talking about Damian which was the same thing they were doing for an entire month. Maybe if the writers hadn't crammed too much material into one episode like they always do, there would have been time for that. If we could have at least one episode dedicated to just them talking to each other about their feelings, it wouldn't be the end of the world. Luke did that once with Grandpa Happy Pants Brian. Why can't he have that with Noah?
Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed by that kiss. I guess I should be grateful that their lips even touched though. However, I don't like that the last person who passionately kissed Luke was Zoe. Van and Jake do a great job incorporating the little touches. However if it weren't for their chemistry, would you be able to tell what their relationship was? The show has shied away from real intimacy between the two and their chemistry is wasted. I would love to see an entire episode talking about their feelings instead of just Damian or whatever the latest plot driven crisis is. Or a dinner with Luke, Noah, and Damian where they clear the air with each other. I also loved that episode with Luke and Brian having that discussion. That was good writing and acting. It has nothing to do with just kissing. I know Otalia on GL haven't kissed for real yet, but they have been more intimate with each other than most couples. I don't watch GL that much, but every time I've seen Otalia, they have not been written as chaste best friends and you can tell they are a couple.
I liked the kiss that they shared there at Java because I don't think that a kiss always has to be passionate to show the person that you love them. Also Luke and Noah have had discussions similar to what Luke and Brian because we got those when Noah was first coming out, then last year during the early part and then during the election. I think three of my favorite one's have been the roof top scene from January 8th, then we have the 12th and one of the more recent one's was on March 12th. Also if I really wanted to be honest the two scenes from March 21st and the 27th. The acting in these scenes were amazing and Van and Jake were just awesome. In my opinion there is no comparison between Luke/Noah and Olivia and Natalia *sp*. In my opinion I love how Luke/Noah have been lately because their happy, in love and still have some conflict but they work it out and actually sometimes we get a glimse of one of them using the puppy dog eyes but they also flirt with each other. Also their relationship is just part of who they are but instead we've seen both characters grow in the last couple of years. Noah has a lot more confidence now than what he had when he first came 2 years ago. He's also more independent than he was 2 years ago. We get to see what Luke and Noah love about each other and they have also learned how to read each other without having to say a word. Luke and Noah have both learned that they can speak their minds to each other without fear of retubutsion *sp*.
As for the show not making references to Luke and Noah being a real couple, last Monday it was made clear to the audience that the two are sharing a bed under LIly and Holden's roof.
Yes, they're sharing a bed...chastely. Like...siblings. I bet Noah even sleeps on top of the covers.(Why, yes, the thought of anyone having sex under their parents' roof freaks me out. LOL!)
I've spent 10 minutes trying to work in a previously unused ABBA song but I can't do it right now. I admit defeat. It's my Waterloo.
Bwahahaha. The only ABBA song that has popped into my head is "Honey, Honey." Which has no application on the subject of where Luke and Noah are sleeping...but does somehow manage to remind me of Eric and Donna from B&B.
If they are sharing a bed, we just aren't seeing it. So how does anyone know if they are sharing the bed chastely or sleeping on top of the covers? It was made clear that they are both at Lily's, but not that they are sharing a bed. It's clear to me they are afraid to even show them in the same bedroom together. The last time they even showed Luke's room, Zac was coming on to Noah. They won't even show them doing something innocent like laying in bed with their clothes on or Noah laying in bed while Luke comes out of the bathroom or something like that. We wouldn't be having to think about Luke and Noah having sex under his parents roof if they got that apartment they kept talking about over and over again. But they haven't moved into that apartment. Instead they are offscreen, so they don't have to deal with it. CBS isn't afraid to let Olivia and Natalia on GL live together. Why is that?

I know that there's a specific thread for the NUKE pairing, but there's always been a difference in the affection that is shown and allowed for that pairing, compared to the other characters on the show. I don't think that the cancellation of Guiding Light, a show in whch those characters aren't on, has any effect on what ATWT allows to be shown or not shown for NUKE on that show.
