how should all my children end...

A tornado tears through Pine Valley, levels three forths of  the town.  Joe and Ruth were on a trip from Florida  to find the hospital  still standing.  Joe is drawn back in to help the injured, Ruth helping to record names of  the living and the dead.  Tad is trapped in the basement of  the old Martin homestead, a beam across his legs pinning him and he is talking to Dixie and calling her for help and she comes to him, bringing his grandparents and they are able to use leverage to get the beam off of him.  They assure him that they are really there for him, he is not going to die, he has unfinished business on this plane, they help him to find the way out and they vanish as Joe and Ruth start calling his name.  Then Phil and Tara Brent  show up with Linc and Kitty to help wherever they can.   Nina and Cliff come to find her fathers mansion in rubble. Brooke and Adam come to help arranging for transportation for those families that are leaving whats left of town.   Most decide to go to other cities where they can get settled right away, too much devastation and no facilities are a hinderance now.  Pine Valley as we know it is gone, Erica has a revelation from Mona telling her this is her last chance to make things right.  Erica finally sees that light and decides to use her vast wealth to do charity work, if not in Pine Valley, then wherever she can and Jack vows to help her.  The folks that came to help all gather one last time in the yard of the Martin homestead, telling each other goodbye, keep in touch and never  forget their loved ones lost and old friends.  The sun sets with Joe, Ruth and Tad and Liza sharing their thoughts about a new beginning in Florida. Pine Valley is no more.
