Such a shame that not enough time was given, at the 36th annual daytime emmy awards show last night, to a dedication to this fine show.. They spent MORE time honoring friggen sesame street than they did for this ICONIC show.....Truly a testament to where daytime tv is heading.....
To those who didn't even know the show was on......
TRrust me.. you missed NOTHING.. it was the most boringest, most pathetic, most lamest show i think I have ever watched... It was on Last night, on the CW network.. Hell, I dont even have THAT network in MY area.. Had to use satelite to locate a CW up in NEW YORK.....
Love Susan Lucci to pieces, but that crap last night was soooo cheesy.. she is just too damned 80's campy......Vincent Irizarry..on All my children NOW, but was DAVID CHOW on Y & R .. was allowed to stay up on stage just a tad bit too long...speech was truly stupid....I am SERIOUS.. the ONLY excitement ( for me) was the great hope Susan Luccis Boobs would have fallen out of her straples number she had on......).. Billy Miller and Elizabeth Hendrickson (aka Billy and Chloe, on Y & R) walked on, did a presentation, and IN THE MIDDLE OF IT walked off the stage, then rushed back cause they were NOT finished and NEVER ANNOUNCED their category.........Camera guys kept "focusing in " On a friggen wall......Vanessa Williams, the host, kept "rolling her eyes" at different things.......They did a stupid "40 year anniversary" to SESAME STREET....Was on too long, took up too much time, was not really entertaining in the least, and truly bored me to the point I changed the channel.....just as I did during their Lame attempt to try and pull at my heart strings for starving people around the world....Note to susan Lucci......when you do a heart felt sentamental piece, try NOT to act.....

So agree with you Nymph! The tribute to GL could have been much better.....I mean did we really need to see Vanessa Williams singing and not just one song but two?And although I didn't feel that The Bold and The Beautiful was the choice for best soap I really felt it was in poor taste to not even show Brad Bell's acceptance speech especially after being nominated 5 times and this was their first win......really poor taste indeed!
I'm just happy that The Daytime Emmys were televised this year!!! I don't want to criticize the telecast (just the pre-show!) but the tribute could've have been better. First of all, what does Betty White have to do with GL?! I'm sure she was just happy to get paid. I'd rather see it done by some ex-GL-ers who've gone on to other soaps or successful careers in tv and movies. The clips section should've been longer - they had 72 years to pull from! I saw more things in the Sesame Street tribute that I recognized than the GL tribute! And the cast should've been given more than just a couple of bows.
Welcome to the boards Angel! Nice to have you. I didn't watch the award show. In general they bore me to tears and based on Nymphies critique, I didn't miss much. I've been watching GL since I was little. I remember Roger and Holly, Laurel Falls and back when the boarding house was...well a boarding house. I've been watching every day lately because I can't stand the thought of not seeing it any more. I think this is a huge waste! Nymphie---The board police deleted your post on Y&R about the show...not sure what that's about.

Glad that I have it on my DVR, it sounds like I am going to be FF'ing a LOT! And it is a shame that they couldn't give an appropriate good bye to GL, which has been airing on TV and Radio for 72 years! I will miss GL terribly. I can't remember a time in my 44 years that I haven't watched it. Back in the 80's when I first got married, I recorded it on my VHS and got my husband hooked too....
