In a town filled with gorgeous, hunky men, you know things have gone bad when the only ones who still have their manhood are a brain damaged hit man & a manchild recovering from a probable sex assault & a stint in prison. Watching this show, I've noticed lately that the only ones who seem to have their mojo are Michael & Jason.
First of all, there's Lucky, who seems to be so besotted with Siobhan, that until yesterday, he believes every word out of her mouth despite the fact that she's a con artist by nature & by his own words, "Spencers are suspicious by nature". So, how come he hasn't grabbed that phone of hers when she wasn't looking & check out who's been calling her?
Poor Matt still has a tiny smattering of his manhood left, but Maxie's slowly but surely squishing it down. Johnny's just a mess & is 2 steps away from staring out the window at his roses...if he lives long enough. Spinelli...is Spinelli & I think that's self-explanatory. Sonny's back to blithering over yet another of his great, "I never loved anyone but you", relationships & letting Brenda decide everything. Steve's not on often enough to guage the status of his mojo.
Then, there's the new doc, Dr. Smiley Face, Terrell, who supposedly has all the women in the hospital all shook up & he can have his pick of them, so why exactly is he going through the trouble of trying to bed a married woman he's not attracted to, all for the pleasure of being with....Lisa?? Talk about no manhood! It's a shame because the actor is cute, but I think he & his creepy smile should go off with Brenda & hers.
Then, there's Mr. Honesty, "My badge means everything to me," Dante. Yet another hunky guy who lost his manhood a long time ago. He also lost the right to criticize Jason or Sonny for what they do with the likes of the Alcazars & Zaccharas or where they dump their bodies. He covers up a self-defense killing for a spoiled heiress, but demands a brain damaged kid do time for a very similar "crime"? Then, he tells lie after lie to his girlfriend & when she dumps him after finally getting sick of his lies, he shows up at her door in a suit, playing "I'm a cute little puppy dog, how can you stay mad at me?" Not to mention the fact that he's still keeping secrets from her out of loyalty to another woman.
But, the worst of all is Patrick. I don't know a single real man who'd put up with what Robin's pulling on him. He better pick his up off the floor before she completely destroys it, driving back & forth on top of it. She keeps playing games with him & he takes it because he loves her. Yes, what he did was wrong & he's racked with guilt. I get it, but a real man would've told her even before the garage door incident, "Look. Either you want to try for a reconciliation or you don't. If you do, quit playing games & lets get into couples therapy." I'm actually surprised he hasn't become a drunk or had a nervous breakdown by now.
These guys should all pay attention to Jason & Michael & maybe they'll learn something. The women they love don't play games with them or try to change or rule them & despite being laden down with their own & everyone else's problems, these men still manage to keep the women they love not only interested, but invested. They don't have to lie to Sam or Abby & can keep things to themselves if they don't want to talk. They can simply be who they are & both are man enough to take strength from the women they love when they need it & to fight for what matters & rise to the occasion when needed.
