Monday

Sharon called Nick with a warning that the secret of their kiss was out. After she hung up, Brad downplayed her faux pas, especially in light of Jack's resent dramas, but he was also sure to note, "If you were married to me, this would never have happened." When Sharon got home, she found Jack and Noah over the computer together. With reporters still calling incessantly, Jack was on edge, but his stepson put a smile on his face with a gift. He'd created an image for a screen saver that had the heads of Jack, Noah, Sharon and the dog with thought bubbles. "It's our family, like when we're happy," Noah told Sharon when she joined them. After some family bonding, he loaded his screen saver onto his mother's computer and went to pack for a study date. That left Jack to roll his eyes over Sharon's kiss with Nick. She wanted to talk it out but he sighed, "Actions speak volumes. I'm hearing you loud and clear, Sharon." She insisted his assumptions were wrong, but he was unconvinced as he left with Noah.

As JT trained Victoria at the GCAC gym, he asked her to join him at Clear Springs while he worked undercover. "Construction worker by day, whatever you want by night," he offered, but she worried no one would trust the boss' boyfriend. He convinced her to go as his "secret lover." Brad interrupted their workout to talk to JT about Newman security and was surprised to hear JT had left Paul's service for a construction job. While JT took a call from his new foreman, Brad gave Victoria the third degree on her health and that of the baby and warmly offered to be there if she needed anything while JT was away. Later, JT made plans to propose to her.

Phyllis tried to talk Jana out of her guilt over killing Carmen. "I'm such an awful person," Jana cried, but Phyllis said she was a "great gal" with an "offbeat personality." Of course, for all her pep talking, Phyllis could barely contain her distaste. Later, Nick came by to 'fess up about the kiss with Sharon. He said it was before he'd started to fall for Phyllis again, but she pushed for details. He shared some, but insisted "that was then and this is now." She worried that while she was locked in prison for six years, Sharon was still out there. "You're all I think about, you're all I talk about, you're all I dream about," he promised. When he got back to the office, he ran into Sharon. While they were bonding over their guilt, Phyllis called Sharon and ordered her to come visit the following day. Nick hoped she'd calm down by then, but Sharon worried she'd be even angrier. At the prison, Jana overheard the call and promised to be Phyllis' "silent backup."

Neil stopped in on Karen, who was completely focused on composing a tough e-mail. When Victoria called, Karen had good news for her about four potential tenants for Clear Springs, but there was bad news about water damage for Neil. Then, after she took a call in which she repeatedly clarified that Jack was not involved in their project at Clear Springs, she sighed, "How ironic that I'm doing more political spinning now than I ever did when I was in politics." She also marveled at how Victor was "keeping his cool." Neil suggested they take a break and even sent her next call to voicemail. They hit the gym for some kickboxing, but first ran into Brad, who agreed to meet with Karen on biz in the morning. She was impressed with his good mood, but Neil warned, "Take it from me, when Brad Carlton is upbeat, that's your cue to grab your shoulder pads and helmet — and worry." They sparred in the middle of the weight room, while Brad "accidentally" ran into Sharon at work. She vented about Jack not hearing her out and it became clear (to the viewer) that Brad had intentionally left the intercom on so Jack would find out about the kiss. To his chagrin, she decided to fight for her family. At the same time, Phyllis talked Jack into doing the same. Though he was weighing separating from Sharon against staying together to save his career, he admitted he loved her, so Phyllis warned, "We have every right to be self-righteous about this, but I don't want to start pushing them into each other's arms."

Tuesday

Over dinner, Sharon tried to make nice while Jack tried not to picture her making out with Nick. Noah picked up on the tension, but they denied it. When she set out to the bookstore, Nick showed up to apologize to Jack. Jack wasn't receptive. He tried again after spending time with Noah — this time taking responsibility for the kiss. Jack gruffly countered that Nick was only protecting Sharon, but Nick insisted their love was part of "a past we can't go back to. You two have a future." Frustrated, Nick sarcastically wished him luck ripping into Sharon, so Jack resorted to name-calling. Noah interrupted again and Jack was not happy when he returned from helping Noah to see Nick still waiting. Nick railed about Jack's recent actions and the argument escalated until Noah came down, ordering them to stop fighting. Jack made a business excuse, but Nick just apologized for getting out of hand. "Aren't you guys supposed to know better," Noah chided. The guys went their separate ways, but not before Jack told Nick he wasn't welcome at the estate and Nick snarked, "You're so worried about this kiss. Don't forget all the things you've done to put Sharon through the wringer. That's what you need to worry about."

Karen and Neil were still talking smack about their kickboxing workout when
they returned to Newman. Nick teased Neil for being "taken down" by a lady,
so Neil joked that he let her win. Then they got down to biz, but Nick got
called away, so they had a snack. Next Sharon called, begging for Neil's
ear, so he cancelled on Karen. He heard Sharon out, empathizing and
reminding her that people make mistakes. He pushed her to define her
feelings, and she realized she'd moved on. "Jack's my whole life now. And
with Nick, I was reaching" for a lost love and daughter. Neil wondered if
she'd wanted to get caught and when she denied it, he recalled his
flirtation with Carmen. "Every marriage goes through their share of
problems. What doesn't break you apart makes you stronger," he said, noting
she had to forgive herself before Jack could forgive her. Then he went to
meet with Karen and raved about how loyal a friend Dru had been. She smiled
that he was just as good a friend. Sharon, meanwhile, brought home French
wine and a French CD to get Jack in the honeymoon mood. He talked quietly
about their scavenger hunt, which was the same day she kissed Nick.
"Everything about that evening — the airplane tickets, the champagne,
the talk of France ... the way you closed your eyes when you kissed me ...
it made me think you truly loved me. But maybe you closed your eyes so you
could pretend I was him. Wow," he sighed.

Colleen ran into her father at the GCAC and invited him to dinner at her
place — with Adrian. Brad insisted he would be fine eating alone, but
Colleen called Adrian to let him know they'd have company. Adrian had
several excuses, but as soon as she stopped trying to change his mind, he
agreed to dinner. She was surprised by the turn of events but feeling
positive when she ran into Lily, who wanted to talk about Cane. They'd just
had a quick round of flirting and she admitted she had "a little, tiny crush
on Cane," but wasn’t ready for more. Colleen left her with the advice, "Be
his friend. Go from there." While waiting for Colleen to get home, Adrian
got a call that his editor's computer crashed. Colleen overheard and
suggested they not mention the book during dinner. When Brad arrived, he was
impressed with Adrian's bookcase and then picked up material for his book,
namely an overview on the history of Kutna Hora. Brad's interest was peaked,
but Colleen ushered them to the table for a meal of verbal sparring.

Still at the GCAC, Lily started working out without much focus, until Cane
came over to correct her form. As he walked her through her workout, she
babbled about being "more cerebral" than her athletic family. He referenced
all the outdoorsy stuff he loved and missed living in GC, so she joked about
being "more of a city girl, like facials and shopping and that kind of
stuff." He took the challenge and, having just asked her to go to a concert,
added a hike to their To Do list. When a hot chick — his "workout
buddy" — interrupted, it was clear Lily wasn't the first GC local to
benefit from Cane's workout tips. She watched Stacey flirt away until she
got called away and Cane returned. Lily tried to play it cool, but Cane
smiled, "Lily... she has nothing on you." Later, he offered to be her
workout buddy. When he called it a "date" they both stumbled over it.

Wednesday

Lily visited Colleen at work to coo over her workout with Cane. She wasn't sure how he felt about her and insisted she wasn't looking for "some big love thing," but admitted she couldn't stop thinking about him. Colleen was sure the feeling was mutual and reminded her of their kiss. Then she suggested her pal "interview" Cane for a made-up school project. Across the room, Victoria ran into Brad and Abby having breakfast and was surprised to hear about Ashley's engagement to Ridge Forrester. When Abby asked questions about the baby, Victoria and Brad rolled with it, but were uncomfortable with her continuing assumption that the baby was his. Luckily, Victor arrived and Abby ran to catch up with her bio-daddy, which left the exes to talk it out. They agreed they shouldn't tell her there was a question about the paternity unless the baby ended up being JT's, but disagreed on the likelihood of that. Brad was confident it was his, but demurred, "Whoever turns out to be the father, I just want the best for you both." After Victoria left, Colleen came by to refill her dad's coffee. She was impressed with their "civility" and then empathized with how hard it must have been for him to be away from her when she was growing up, and now he's doing a similar thing with Abby living in Los Angeles.

When Jack showed up, Victor gloated over all the stories in the paper about his nemesis. "I haven't enjoyed myself this much since I made my first million," he smiled, but Jack turned that on him, smirking that Victor's vendetta was destroying the Newman family. Victor wasn't fazed and gave him the "I get even" line. Later, Jack ran into Nikki at work and she asked after his good mood. They quickly started bickering, but Jack concluded, "You want to point fingers? I suggest you aim your middle one at your soon-to-be-ex husband." Nikki rolled her eyes, while Victor licked his lips over a news report indicating 10 percent of the Clear Springs lease-holders had pulled out. No surprise, Nikki was worried about construction costs! Cane insisted he was doing his best to keep them down, but she still suggested they hold off on the next phase of construction. When Victoria showed up, she offered to go up to Clear Springs to check it out firsthand. Nikki balked, but Victoria quipped, "I'm pregnant. I'm not in a body cast." She added that she was going anyway once JT started work, so her mother begged her to be careful. Then she gave Victoria a baby gift, but Victoria explained how hard it was giving away everything she'd collected for the baby she'd miscarried. When her mom left, she checked out the bag of gifts and cried. Brad caught her and she admitted she was afraid of jinxing the pregnancy. When she showed him the gift, he understood, sighing, "We bought that exact outfit before you miscarried."

When Lily ran into Cane at Crimson Lights, she told him she was doing a paper comparing "the lives of Gen Y in America and Australia." Cane talked about the American obsession with work and being cool and having hip clothes, and the Aussie's love of travel and inherent optimism. After he waxed poetic about the stars, he said he wanted to read her paper. She made an excuse about being shy (since there was no paper) and said she was hungry, but he had to turn down her passive-aggressive offer because he had a call scheduled. When she left, he laughed to himself, but things turned serious when Heather joined him. Even as he flirted, he grilled her about Ji Min's investigation. "Guilty parties typically have a vested interest in the investigation," she said pointedly.

In prison, Jana tried to empathize with Phyllis over the Nick/Sharon kiss, but wasn't very good at it. Phyllis told her to back off, but Jana countered that "confiding in a friend can really make you feel better." Though Phyllis clarified that bunking together didn't make them friends, Jana continued until Phyllis finally said, "You're an imaginative girl. Let's pretend like I have a big, electric force field around me, okay?" Then Sharon showed up, having started her own day with a few snide comments from Jack. Phyllis asked if the kiss had been payback for her own affair with Nick, but Sharon insisted Nick was just confused. She noted she'd be happy to give up Nick's friendship, "but we share a child together. So, you and me and Jack and Nick are going to have to figure out a way to make this work or the next 50 years are going to be pretty miserable." When Sharon got up to leave, she raved about her wonderful life with Jack, but Phyllis countered that she'd forgotten something: "Not once have you said you love Jack." When Sharon got home, she and Noah made a gift for Jack. Jack came home still grumbling, so Sharon talked about the future and excitedly handed him the gift, which made him smile.

Thursday

At the GCAC gym, Lily and Cane continued their flirty dance with Colleen rooting Lily on. Cane clearly had the upper hand and was enjoying it. When girls walked out quibbling about which of them was more immature they passed Neil and Karen. After Neil and Cane sparred playfully, Karen invited Cane to their dinner meeting at Neil's pad. It turned out to be a family dinner, so when Cane showed up, Lily was left stumbling. After she had to hold his hand for a perfunctory grace, she called Colleen in a panic, but Colleen couldn't come over. Then Devon got a call and Neil took Karen to see photos, which left Lily eating alone with Cane. The table got more uncomfortable when Cane revealed he was meeting Heather later, so Cane eventually came out and, after repeating that he was too old for her, said they shouldn't be self-conscious about being attracted to one another. Easier said than done! Devon was not thrilled with his sister's flirtation, but seemed more comfortable with Karen's raves about how much she liked family man Neil, as apposed to professional Neil.

Sharon put on a white dress and surprised Jack with a romantic dinner, but he shrugged that he wasn't in the mood and left her to blow out the candles. Then he came back to apologize. "I'm just so disillusioned," he explained, but promised it wasn't about her. She understood, saying she'd planned the night "to take your mind off the rest of the world and show you there's more to life than just being attacked in the media." Jack suggested they pick up where he walked out, but she smiled, "Really, I was kind of in the mood for pizza." They ordered in and ate with gusto from the good china. Brad called Sharon to bust the mood, but she cut him off and returned to Jack. As Jack gave her everything she needed and then some on the couch, Brad called back and left a message about her compromising herself for Jack and offering himself to her for "anything at all." Then he called a newspaper and spilled the beans on Nick "pursuing Senator Abbott's wife during this very difficult time."

Kevin poured his mother a scotch as she told him about the jar of face cream William had sent Jeff. She wasn't sure it was the tainted Jabot cream, but to be safe, she was going to steal it from Jeff — or rather, she wanted Kevin to. She wouldn't take no for an answer, but he wouldn't agree to do it. Later, Michael came home with news that Jeff had hired an estate lawyer to make a play for William's inheritance. He insisted she stay away from him, but she countered, "That is not the way you keep an eye on someone." Jeff didn't answer her call, because he was with Jill hearing about Jack's drama and William's investigation into Jabot. As they parted, he thanked Jill for filling his "idle curiosity," but she thought the topic was anything but idle. He countered that maybe it was "an excuse to spend time with a beautiful woman," so she chided, "Two lies in one night, Jeff. Shame on you." Undeterred, Jeff called Gloria back. She said she had a memento for him from his brother and after he smoothly avoided giving away his room number, she asked straight out if she could have the cream because it was the "scent that William loved so much." While he waited for her at the bar, he played with two glass bottles and the waitress asked if he was playing a shell game. Then Gloria arrived and he got a call from his lawyer. He was soured to learn he had no legal standing in getting his brother's inheritance, but smiled as he and Gloria toasted William. Then she offered him a faux memento and asked for the cream. She was thrilled when he handed it right over, running straight home to brag to Michael. Michael worried it wasn't the real deal — and he was right! Back at the bar, Jeff now played with only one glass bottle. When the waitress asked if that meant it was the end of his shell game, he smiled, "No, it's the beginning."

Friday

JT confirmed his room service order, which included a wild selection of maternity craving foods and a candlelit set-up. Before heading out to meet him, however, Victoria had a chat with her dad. Victor noted that a baby could bring a family together, but made it clear that reparation to his marriage should start with Nikki. Not likely, considering the big news David brought her! He'd learned that Victor owned the mineral rights to Clear Springs methane and was already drilling outside the city limits. "He has no vested interest in seeing you succeed whatsoever," David fumed, but Nikki played it cool when she confronted Victor later. She calmly outlined his sins, including his control issues, his need to win at all costs and his "perverse pleasure" at her failure. He countered that he didn't care about her company and snidely told her she wasn't ready for the "down and dirty" big leagues, leaving her teary but still refusing to break. When David called to check on her, Victor grabbed her arm, threw the phone and fumed, "Don't you ever flaunt that man in front of me! Not in my house!" After sparring over whose house it was, she recalled the first time she'd seen the place and admitted, "I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you from the moment I met you because, quite simply, you were the best man I'd ever known." When Zapato joined them, she thanked the pup for keeping Victor safe and admitted, "Even when I was furious with you, I was worried." They bonded over how scary Victor's illness had been and remembered the past. She called him her "knight in shining armor," but sighed that she didn't need that anymore. He said he couldn't accept her because, "I don't know the person that I 'm looking at anymore." They agreed it was over and he concluded his attorney would draw up divorce papers.

When Victoria arrived at Clear Springs, she was wowed by JT's preparations and even let him take her phone away. "No shop talk, no talk about your crazy, crazy family. Just you and me," he said. He wouldn't let her check the text messages that came during his pre-proposal, but then she snuck a peek and the message said, "Will you marry me?" She balked and asked why not wait, but he insisted he didn't care if the baby was his. She countered that planning a wedding wasn't something one does "impulsively," so he suggested they make a pros and cons list. They couldn't come up with any negatives and he sealed the deal with a garnet engagement ring, signifying the baby's birthstone. Because of her superstitions about the baby, she wouldn't put it on until after the birth, but she agreed to marry him.

Lily and Cane continued their self-defined age-inappropriate flirting until the elevator came to take him away. Then Lily called Colleen immediately with a report on the "awful" evening. "I think this whole age thing is just an excuse, 'cause he's not into me. He has a date tonight," she whined. He had a date with Heather at Crimson Lights, so the girls agreed to meet at the GCAC instead. That didn't pan out too well! At Crimson Lights, Amber struggled behind the coffee bar, but seemed to be holding her own as the new barista. Lonely Daniel tried to pull her away for some fun, but she was on the clock. He told her to call if she needed a distraction, but she kept busy looking at housewares with her boss/roomie Kevin. When Cane showed up for his date with Heather, however, Amber begged Kev for the night off and set out to meet Daniel at the GCAC for dinner. Unfortunately, Heather had spotted Amber and seeing her discomfort, Cane suggested they go to the same place for an Irish coffee! When they spotted Amber at the GCAC, they assumed she'd followed them, but Cane said to ignore her. Then Lily and Colleen showed. Colleen suggested they leave without being seen, but Lily said it was too late. Heather invited them to join her and Cane, but the girls excused themselves. Even from across the room, Amber could see Lily had the hots for Cane. Daniel suggested Amber at least pretend to have a good time, while Lily wondered if her ex and Amber were a couple "yet." Meanwhile, after much flirting and exchange of background info, Cane told Heather he had to get back to work. They agreed to get together again, but after he walked her to her car, he sat alone in his car and listened to Lily's Enrique Iglesias CD. "Somebody's Me," Enrique's sad song of loss and need, played as Lily looked crushed, Daniel comforted a teary Amber, JT and Victoria cuddled, Nikki looked to David for comfort, and Victor cried alone.
