Young and Restless Recaps
Y&R Week of April 14, 2008
Monday
At the Restless Style offices, Adam asked Jack for advice on working with Victor. Jack assured Adam that he was in a "honeymoon" phase with the 'stache, and that things would eventually sour if Adam did anything Victor didn't agree with. Later, Phyllis showed up and was surprised to see Adam. Jack told Phyllis they were finishing up a meeting about the Beauty of Nature ad, and Adam said he'd be leaving shortly. Phyllis told Adam it was demeaning that he was only working with the men. Adam said it was for the best, and left the office.
In Los Angeles, Felicia welcomed Nick with hot coffee and tepid flirting, offering to make sure he had fun while he was away. Soon Lily, Devon and Chloe showed up, and Lily told Felicia she was thrilled to be there. Felicia showed Lily what she'd wear for the shoot, and she and Chloe marveled at the garments. Chloe then glanced at Lily and noticed she didn't look so hot, and Lily ran off to the restroom. When she returned, Chloe accused her of being bulimic. Lily assured her she was nauseated form the flight, but Chloe didn't believe her. While Chloe took Lily to prepare for the shoot, Felicia continued her efforts to win Nick over with her flirting.
At the ranch, Sabrina told Victor she planned to tell Victoria about their relationship. Minutes later, Victoria stopped by. Victor asked her to stay so they could all talk, but then suggested they go out and look for a space for a gallery. They found the perfect space at the Restless Style offices. When Jack learned Sabrina was moving to Genoa City to start a museum, he was even more surprised to learn Victor was funding the venture. When Sabrina said they wanted to rent out the bottom floor of the Restless Style building, Jack was intrigued and annoyed by the possibility.
When Sabrina left to meet Victor for lunch, she told him she didn't have a chance to speak with Victoria about their relationship. Victor assured her everything would be fine. She was happy to report she and Victoria had found a space for the art gallery. Victor was surprised when Sabrina said it was the bottom floor of the Restless Style building. Sabrina was concerned Nick wouldn't rent the space to him, but Victor said he would have to because he owned the building — but Nick didn't know.
At the Abbott mansion, Gloria was bored to death with no family to plague and no husband or housemates to quarrel with. Meanwhile, Jana and Kevin argued over their difference of opinion on how to handle Gloria. Kevin wanted to stay away from her and stick with Michael's plan, but Jana insisted they were being too harsh. Against Kevin's wishes, Jana managed to get Gloria, Michael and Kevin to meet at the coffeehouse. Michael tried to leave, but Gloria asked him to stay so he could hear her say she was wrong and he was right.
While Jack and Sharon were on their way to go view a new home, Gloria called Jack's cell, asking them to meet her at the mansion in 30 minutes. Jack originally declined, but finally agreed to meet. When they arrived at the mansion, Michael, Kevin and Jana were there. After Michael hurled a few insults Jack was ready to leave, but Gloria finally appeared claiming she and John had an announcement to make. Gloria said she had been happy with John in the mansion, but she needed to move on. She gave Jack a copy of the court agreement that entitled her to half the mansion and told him to rip it up. Jack thought Gloria was bluffing, but she assured him she wanted him to be happy with his family so she could be happy with hers.
Tuesday
At breakfast, Alistair told Jill he found Gloria locked in a wine cellar while Jeff was cheating on Gloria with a strange woman. Jill was fascinated by Alistair's story and encouraged him to comfort Gloria so that they could get to the bottom of the story. After Alistair left, Jill joined Jeff at his table. Jeff pretended he and Gloria were fine, but Jill knew he was staying at the club. Jeff finally admitted they'd been having problems, and asked Jill why she was so interested in his marriage. Jill claimed she just wanted Gloria to be happy.
Later, Alistair visited Gloria at the mansion. He asked why she was moving, and she said her battle for the house cost her her relationships with Michael and Kevin and she couldn't stand to lose them. When Jeff arrived, he asked why his things were outside and why Alistair was there. Gloria told him she was moving out. She added she allowed Alistair to visit because he was a true, caring gentleman. Gloria then planted a big kiss on Alistair, but Jeff knew she was only doing it to make him jealous. After Jeff left, Gloria told Alistair he should leave as well. When Alistair left, he went to tell Jill that Gloria was moving out, and she'd kicked Jeff to the curb.
When Jack, Sharon and Noah arrived to move back in, Jack refused to thank Gloria for the house. Before leaving, Gloria said she truly was leaving because she wanted to do what was right. When Sharon and Noah went out, Jack got a visit from John's ghost. John said Gloria did an honorable thing giving him the mansion, but Jack disagreed. John told him he needed to recognize the goodness in Gloria. When Jack seemed not to heed John's words, John told him he wouldn't be visiting him anymore. Jack said he wasn't ready for their visits to end. "I'm a better person when you're here," he said. John said it was time for Jack to learn his own way, and bid him farewell for good.
At the coffee shop, Chloe bombarded Lily with plans to develop a portfolio to catapult her into the New York market, urging her to move forward because she was in the midst of her prime. Chloe asked Lily if she was still vomiting, but Lily insisted she'd never vomited to be thin. When Cane arrived, he told Chloe he and Lily had to meet with Nikki right away. Chloe seemed suspicious, so after they left she called the office to speak with Nikki, but the secretary said Nikki would be out all morning.
When Chloe spotted Neil at the coffee shop, she approached him saying she didn't think Lily wanted her modeling career bad enough. She asked Neil to talk to Lily, and Neil agreed, but said he thought Lily wasn't dedicated because she wanted to finish school, and he'd encourage her to do just that.
Meanwhile, Lily sat with Cane at the Chancellor estate, preparing herself to meet Neil to tell him the baby news. Before Lily left, Jill arrived and noticed something was wrong with the couple. After Lily was gone, Jill asked Cane what was going on with her. Cane said it was just Chloe pushing Lily too hard, but Jill knew there was something more. Cane didn't tell Jill about the baby, but after they talked, she figured it out.
Lily met Neil for lunch, and when she told him she had a problem, he assumed it was about work. Lily told him it wasn't work, and that she was pregnant. Neil was disappointed, but told Lily he would do whatever he could to help. Lily said Cane wasn't pressuring her, but that she might not keep the baby.
Wednesday
At the Restless Style offices, Sabrina showed up to talk about her new position. Nick was surprised Victor hired Sabrina, and when Sabrina mentioned Victor wanted the bottom floor of his building for the gallery space, Nick was floored at the idea. Sabrina left Nick and Phyllis to discuss their decision, and they later called Sabrina and agreed to rent the space for Victor's gallery.
At the Newman offices, Adam and Victor had their first major business disagreement. Adam finally backed off and left to prepare for his trip to New York. Victor asked if he'd be meeting up with friends, but Adam said he didn't have time for friends. Victor told Adam to make time. "Work comes first and second," Adam replied. After he left Victor's office, however, Adam called an old friend to see if she could meet up with him in New York.
When Sabrina stopped by Victor's office, she urged him to tell Nick he owned the mortgage on Nick's building, especially since he'd agreed to rent the gallery space to Victor. Victor told her she was just worried about telling Victoria about their relationship. She agreed, and as they kissed Victoria walked in and almost caught them. Victor told Victoria that Nick agreed to rent the space, and added that he owned the mortgage. Victoria was angry Victor would undermine Nick, but Victor insisted it was for his protection.
When Victoria and Sabrina went home to check on Reed, Sabrina finally told her she was involved with Victor. "You're supposed to be my friend!" Victoria exclaimed. Sabrina tried to get her to calm down, but she continued to yell. Upset and betrayed, Victoria kicked Sabrina out.
Later Victor went to see Nick and Phyllis to give them lease papers to sign. After he left, Nick called Victoria to tell her the news, and she asked him to come over right away. When Nick got to Victoria's, she told him Sabrina admitted to being involved with Victor. Nick was calm about it, and told Victoria their relationship had nothing to do with her, and she should make peace with Victor's behavior. Victoria then told Nick their father held the papers to Nick's building. "Try making your peace with that," she snarked.
Meanwhile, Neil told Karen about Lily's pregnancy. Neil said he didn't want her to have an abortion. "It's ultimately her decision," Karen reminded him. Neil agreed, then shocked Karen by asking her if she would raise the baby with him. Neil could see his suggestion upset Karen, and he apologized for blurting it out. Neil thought it would be for the best, and that it could bring them closer together, but Karen thought it was a bad idea.
Jill met Chloe at the club to talk about her concerns for Lily. Chloe admitted she was pushing Lily hard, but that it was paying off in her photos. Jill said she was concerned about Lily's health because she looked run down. Chloe then told Jill she thought Lily was bulimic because she'd been vomiting a lot. Jill didn't believe Lily was bulimic, and she asked Chloe to take Lily to get checked out by a doctor.
Lily met Cane at the coffee shop to tell him how her confession with Neil turned out. Lily told Cane it was hard telling her father about the baby, but she said Neil was supportive and offered to raise the baby for her. Cane asked Lily what she wanted. She said she couldn't imagine not having it, but expressed fears about being ready for motherhood. She didn't think she was strong enough to handle it, but Cane said he was ready for full responsibility and he would be strong enough for both of them.
Thursday
Chloe insisted Lily go to the doctor, but Lily said she would go on her own. Cane told Chloe to relax and let Lily handle it. When Chloe continued to interfere, Cane railed her, but Lily finally admitted she was pregnant. Chloe was shocked, but surprisingly understanding. She told Lily she wished her the best, but she had to be honest with her for her own good. "You're career is over," she predicted. "You should face it." When Chloe walked away, Cane told Lily not to worry about it, but Lily yelled at him and asked him to stop trying to make her feel better. "She's right," Lily said of Chloe.
After leaving Cane at the coffee shop, Lily went to Dru's old dance studio to clear her head. When Madame Chauvin saw Lily, she invited her to sit and chat. Lily asked Madame Chauvin how Dru was able to be a dancer, a model and a mother, and Chauvin said Dru thrived on it. Lily wondered if Dru ever regretted her decisions. Chauvin explained that everyone had regrets, but she added that nothing ever mattered to Dru as much as Lily did.
Tempers flared at Neil's home when Karen told him she didn't want to raise Lily's baby. Neil didn't understand why, but Karen told him they hadn't been dating long enough for him to ask her to do something so huge. Karen admitted his asking made her have second thoughts about moving in. She told him if she had to raise a child, she wanted it to be her own. She told him she'd respect his decision if he wanted to raise the baby, but he'd have to do it alone; without her as a "grandma" or a girlfriend. When Lily stopped by, she asked to speak with Neil alone and told him she'd decided to keep the baby.
Nikki was thrilled to have David back from his trip and in her arms. She asked why he didn't call or answer any of her calls. David said his great-uncle was having a medical emergency and that he couldn't call. Nikki made him promise to never scare her like that again. Soon their conversation switched to wedding planning, until Brad interrupted. Brad toasted the couple, then asked David why he hadn't been answering his phone. David said he had family business, but offered to meet with Brad later. When Brad said he was busy with a poker game and invited David, David turned him down, while Nikki eyed the two suspiciously. Moments later, Victoria approached the table asking Nikki to speak with her alone.
When Nikki and Victoria stepped away, Victoria told Nikki that Victor and Sabrina were having an affair. Nikki wasn't surprised, and said they were probably using each other to get over past relationships. Victoria told Nikki she was glad she'd moved on with David so she didn't have to be upset about Victor and Sabrina. Nikki suggested Victoria try to let go of the anger, but Victoria didn't think she could.
At the Newman offices, Sabrina told Victor how confessing to Victoria was a nightmare. Victor said she was upset because she hoped he and Nikki would get back together. "That's her problem, not ours," he said. Sabrina was surprised Victor wasn't upset about Victoria's feelings. Victor said she made him happy, so Victoria should be happy for him. Victor told Sabrina they shouldn't worry about Victoria and suggested they celebrate their first purchase for the gallery. Sabrina agreed to have dinner, and when she left the office she ran into Adam. He asked if things were okay with Victor, and Sabrina wondered why. Adam said from the looks of her, he'd suspect she and Victor had their first lover's quarrel. Insulted and embarrassed, Sabrina watched as Adam basically called her a slut and walked away.
Friday
Neil asked Lily if she was sure she wanted the baby. Lily said she'd been
thinking about Dru a lot, and she felt like Dru's spirit was guiding her to
the right thing. Neil immediately jumped into overprotective father mode,
wanting Lily to move back in with him to make things easy for her. When Neil
began rambling about baby preparations, to-do lists and schedules, Lily told
him she didn't want to move back in. Neil wanted her to stay and talk about
it, but Lily had to go find Cane to tell him her decision. When Lily found
Cane, she told him she wanted to have the baby and he was thrilled.
Cane returned to the office and told Kay Lily decided to have the baby. Kay
said the baby would be very lucky, because she was confident he'd be a great father. Kay asked Cane if he truly loved Lily. He said he did, without a
doubt. Cane told Kay he was concerned because Neil wanted Lily to move back
in to raise the baby. Cane told Kay he didn't want to be rude, but the baby
was his and Lily's, not Neil's.
Later, Lily went to talk to Colleen and Devon and told them she was keeping
the baby. Devon congratulated her, but Colleen was not supportive. She told
Lily she'd have to give up modeling and school, and asked her if she was
sure that's what she wanted. Devon suggested Lily have the baby and put it
up for adoption. Lily was shocked by their negative reaction to her choice.
Colleen and Devon said they were trying to help, but Lily became frustrated
and walked away.
When Lily returned to Madame Chauvin's studio, she was surprised to see Cane
there. She asked why he was there, and Cane opened a small velvet box to
reveal a huge sapphire and diamond ring. "Will you marry me?" he asked. Lily
was shocked and speechless. She told Cane she loved him for being so
wonderful, but if she weren't pregnant he wouldn't be doing it. Cane said he
loved her and he was doing it because he wanted to. Lily hugged and kissed
him and told him she needed time to think about it.
At the coffeehouse, Gloria tried to convince Michael and Kevin to let her
live with them part time. Michael said his house was calm and he didn't want
it disrupted. Gloria realized all her mistakes were finally catching up to
her, and she returned to the club since she couldn't stay with either of her
sons.
At the club, Gloria urged Michael to drop the lawsuit against Jack. She said
she was wrong for fighting Jack for the house, and Lauren was fine, so there
was no need for the lawsuit. Michael refused to drop it, but Gloria told him
if he went through with it, it would come back to haunt him. Later, Alistair
(still snooping for Jill, but not knowing it) invited Gloria to dinner.
Gloria accepted just in time for Jeffrey to see them heading to dinner. Jeff
told Gloria to stop with the shenanigans, but Gloria was determined to make Jeff jealous. She did just that when Jeff later caught she and Alistair
kissing in her suite.
At the Abbott mansion, Sharon was excited the house was finally free from
Gloria, but Jack still seemed troubled. He told Sharon he thought he'd be
glad once Gloria was gone, but since she left, he couldn't feel his father's
presence in the house anymore. Sharon told Jack that John would always be in the house, but it was time for a new spirit. Jack should now fill the mansion with his presence. She added she wanted to have a huge summer party with the family to celebrate everything. Jack agreed it would be a wonderful idea, and the two later went upstairs for a romantic night in the place they could finally call their home.
