Y&R Week of March 24, 2008
Monday
Jeff called Jack to report that Gloria was terrified when she saw "John"
outside the window. Jack relayed the account to Sharon, who worried just a
tad about giving Glo a heart attack. "That woman has the constitution of a
cockroach," noted an unsympathetic Jack.
Nick took exception when Patrick pointed out that the press was coming to the Restless Style party because Nick is Victor's son. "My father and I
aren't even an interesting sidebar," said Nick, who worried that the press
would think that the magazine was "some dramatic father/son thing." Ashley called Jack to let him know that she and Felicia Forrester arrived at the
airport.
Danny lamented to Phyllis that he couldn't get Daniel to talk to him.
Meanwhile, Amber convinced a reluctant Daniel to hear out his dad. Danny confessed that used the party as an excuse to see his son again. The guys made up and were soon bonding over road tour memories. Danny reminded that even though they were not biologically connected, Daniel was still his son. Later, Danny happily smooched Amber, thanking her for pushing him to reconcile with his dad.
At Crimson Lights, Gloria told Kevin about her John sighting. "Lady, you
have lost your mind," Kev scoffed but a ghoulishly-curious Jana suggested
they hold a sance in order to communicate with John's spirit. Sharon and Jack showed up and then panicked when Alistair entered the place. Jack
quickly ushered him out before anyone could see him. Back at Alistair's hotel room, Jack ordered the thespian not to go outside unescorted. "Oh, a question, please?" asked Alistair. "Who is that ravishing woman that I saw through the window?" Jack answered his question then left. As soon as he was alone, Alistair called the liquor store and ordered a delivery. Once he drank some, he headed out of his room.
A nervous Lily worried about the Restless Style party. "Tonight is my first official appearance for Jabot," she fretted but Cane assured that she would be "dazzling." When Lily complained about Chloe's pushiness, Cane urged his girlfriend to tell the fashionista to back off. Later, Lily was upset that Chloe had made a last-minute wardrobe change. "This is couture," Chloe snapped. "You have no idea how lucky you are." Lily was clearly fed up. "If being in the fashion business means turning into a full-of-yourself little bitch like you, then I don't think it's worth it," Lily charged. The ladies exchanged heated words and Lily could see Chloe was upset and apologized. Lily hugged Chloe who half heartedly returned the squeeze. Lily changed into her dress and wowed Cane.
Victoria urged her dad to reach out to Nick by attending the party but
Victor huffed that it wasn't "the time for that." Later, Victor's babysitter
cancelled so Sabrina offered to care for Reed. After Victoria and J.T. left
for the party, Victor showed up and was surprised to find Sabrina
babysitting.
Jeffrey put on a pair of John's boots, then tracked mud through the living
room. Gloria came home and was rattled to find a pair of John's muddied
boots. After making nice with Jeff, Glo told him that they were having a
sance that night. Jana and Kevin soon arrived to participate.
Tuesday
"To success!" toasted Jack just before the party and Sharon, Nick and
Phyllis joined in.... Victoria and J.T. arrived, shortly followed by Ashley
and Felicia. "We take your being here as an omen of great business together
ahead," Jack smiled to Felicia, who advised him not to break out the bubbly just yet. Neil showed up sans Karen, who was away visiting her mom.... Nick was peeved when a reporter asked if his dad was funding Restless Style but the press soon became convinced that Nick and Jack were acting on their own.
While, babysitting Reed, Sabrina learned about Victor growing up in an
orphanage. When she asked if he was happy with his life, Victor answered,
"No, not really." Gabby showed up to take over babysitting duties so Sabrina
suggested that Victor come with her to Nick's party.
Gloria asked Jeffrey to join her, Jana and Kevin in the séance (being held in the dining room) but Jeff opted to hang out in the living room instead.
As the sance commenced, Jeff called Jack to report Gloria's newest move.
"Too bad we didn't know that the Psychic Friends Network would be in
session," chuckled Jeff. "We could've hired your John look-alike to scare
the designer panties off of her." When Gloria asked John for a sign, Alistair was lurking outside and knocked over a bird bath, startling the women inside. Jana then spied Alistair walking past the window. "Dear Lord, it's John!" she exclaimed. "This is incredible! I'm a real medium!" A non-believing Kevin suggested they look outside and when they found nothing, Jana was still convinced of what she saw. As Alistair sneaked into the house, Kevin told Gloria that Jeff was messing with her head and left with Jana. When Gloria was alone, Alistair appeared before her and she fainted. Jeff walked in and ordered the old man to leave, which he did. Gloria came to and told Jeff, " It's John," she gasped. "He's really come back."
Lily, Cane and Chloe arrived but Chloe ordered her charge not to eat
anything and to work the room.... Felicia told Amber that she's surprised
anyone would hire her after the Faces of Jabot charade. But Phyllis
injected, "We really enjoy that Amber knows how to get publicity."... Daniel
told his mom that he smoothed things over with Danny.... Felicia told Jack
that Forrester Creations would sign on as clients... After seeing Amber with
Daniel, Felicia warned Phyllis that Ms. Moore was trouble.... David, Nikki,
Adam and Brad were in attendance.... Phyllis was relieved when Danny finally
showed up.... Victor and Sabrina arrived at the party and the reporters went into a tizzy.
Jill was perturbed that Kay wasn't going to the party because she wanted to stay home and write her memoirs. Jill pointed out that such a book would
only hurt her too and Kay mentioned, "Perhaps I won't even publish it."
After Jill went to the party, Kay had a dream about John which made her
emotional. She left a voice mail for Amber, who left the party to check on
Kay.
How long did it take Daniel to find parking (because he wouldn't use the
valet service)?
Wednesday
The press went crazy when Victor showed up. Comments like "I figured Victor Newman was behind this" and "Nick Newman's a pretty-boy wannabe with Daddy's checkbook" were soon made. An irked Jack wanted to confront Victor, but Nick said, "It's my problem. I'll take care of it." Nick accused his dad of trying to ruin his big night; Sabrina intervened, explaining that she convinced
Victor to come. Victor wanted to tell a reporter that he was attending in
support of his son, but the journalist was whisked away by Phyllis. Nikki
blasted Victor for trying to upstage their son but he scoffed, "I am totally
and utterly disinterested in your comments.
After hearing how upset Jill was, Amber suggested to Kay that she write her book and not publish it. Kay recalled when, years ago Jill zealously
confessed to cleaning up a bum (Rex Sterling who later turned out to be
Danny's estranged father) so that Kay would fall in love with him, which she
did. Kay then realized that her stories would make Jill look bad. Jill showed up and Amber departed. Jill demanded to know what Kay was hiding and
she finally admitted that she recently had a minor stroke. Kay announced
that she planned to come out of retirement.
Lauren and Michael finally arrived at the party and she rushed over to greet
Ashley and Felicia.... Sharon and Jack asked if Lauren wanted to write a
fashion trends column for their mag and, to Michael's chagrin, she said she
would think about it.... Danny confessed to Paul that he felt nervous about singing.... Jeffrey showed up and told Jack that Alistair made an
unscheduled appearance at the mansion, frightening Gloria. Jack ordered Jeff to stash Alistair in his hotel room. Michael was curious to see Jack and Jeff huddled together.... Danny's performance was a hit... Brad met Sabrina, who said she heard all about Victoria's ex.... Ashley and Victor shared a warm moment.... Chloe hounded Lily to mingle with the press. Lily later fainted in Devon's arms but she wouldn't let him tell Neil.... J.T. informed Victoria and Victor that someone hacked into one of Newman's systems. J.T. left the party to investigate. Victoria suspiciously eyed Adam.... Amber
returned and Danny declared that she and Daniel seemed like a good fit....
J.T. told Adam the security breach at Newman was "an inside job." ....
Victor wished Nick good luck.... Since Sabrina was scheduled to leave for
L.A. the next day, she and Victor shared a tender farewell.
Gloria came to on the living room floor and was still in shock over seeing
John. She threw on her leopard-print coat and crashed the party in order to
see Michael and Lauren. "John's ghost is angry that I married Jeffrey and
that we're living in his house," Glo yammered but Michael tattled that Jack and Jeff were cahoots about something. Sharon offered to go to the hotel to check on Alistair but when Michael spotted her leaving, he ordered Gloria to follow. Glo tailed Sharon to the hotel and watched her enter a suite. Gloria wasn't happy to watch Jeffrey later exit from the same room.
Thursday
J.T. informed Victoria, Adam and Neil that someone hacked into Newman's
computer system despite a firewall in place, which means it was most likely
an inside job. Victoria accused Adam, as Victor showed up. "Do you have any
idea how personally insulting this is to me?" he shot back and Victor told
J.T. To keep digging. "No more accusations until there's evidence to back it up," said Vic.
In his hotel room, Alistair complained to Sharon and Jack that he had fallen
for Gloria. Jack said it was time for the old guy to be on his way but Al
didn't want to leave. Jack called Jeffrey and told him, "Abort mission."
Gloria questioned Jeffrey about his whereabouts the night before and he
claimed he was out for a late drive. Glo went over to Crimson Lights and
told Kevin that Jack and Sharon were up to something. "I followed Sharon
last night," Gloria explained. "She went into a room at the athletic club. They are hiding something in there."
Lauren snitched to Michael that Jack called Jeffrey.... Brad left this cryptic voice mail for Nikki: "I think you'll want to clear your calendar after you hear what I have to say." ... Jeff met up with Jack, who shared about Alistair crushing on Gloria. Meanwhile, Glo and Kevin broke into Alistair's hotel room but he was gone.... Sharon called Jack to report that she lost Alistair.
Daniel set up a photo session so Amber could model her own designs. Danny dropped in to say goodbye but first sang a song he wrote for his son. Daniel was moved and, after Daniel left, he wondered if he and Amber could be more than friends and they smooched.
Nick dropped by Newman and asked Victor for his true opinion on Restless
Style. "I was very impressed with how you handled yourself last night,"
Victor allowed. "I'm proud of you." But he still had to admit that he
thought the venture would fail and Nick vowed to prove him wrong. Victor
insisted that he wanted his son to succeed and wished him luck.
After telling Nick about the security breach, Victoria was surprised when
Sabrina showed up at Newman. Sabrina explained that her flight was cancelled and she was taking a later one that evening.
Adam dropped by the Restless Style warehouse and congratulated Phyllis on the party. She got annoyed when he pointed out that she was good at
shielding Nick. Adam apologized and Nick showed up. Adam gave his congrats and left. He returned to Newman and accused Victoria of trying to set him up. Later, J.T. told Victoria that he thinks Brad is the hacker.
Sabrina visited a delighted Victor and gave him a book of art. "If you
happen to come upon a painting that I might be interested in, don't hesitate
to call," Victor said and they once again exchanged touching goodbyes.
Alistair showed up at the Abbott estate. "I'm here to rescue you!" he
announced. Lauren was startled to see "John" and tumbled down the stairs.
She ended up unconscious at the bottom of the stairs and a panicked Alistair bolted.
Friday
Jeff found an unconscious Lauren. She came to and said she saw someone who looked like John. Lauren called Michael and told him that she fell down the stairs after seeing John. Michael rushed over and angrily asked Jeff what happened. Bardwell feigned ignorance and Michael escorted a sore Lauren to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a slight concussion.
At Crimson Lights, Gloria began to realize that maybe she was being duped about John's ghost. "I feel like an idiot," sighed Glo to Kevin and Jana.
"It's time to turn the tables on the gruesome twosome — Jeffrey and Jack!" Michael called Gloria to report that Lauren got hurt after seeing John.
J.T. And Victoria were now convinced that Brad was the hacker. Meanwhile,
Brad presented Nikki with sensitive information from Newman. When David saw the file, he advised Nikki to destroy it immediately. Brad objected but David pointed out they could get into big legal trouble. "We don't need a
Watergate here," David declared. After Brad departed, Nikki thought David
might be overreacting.
Adam told Neil about an all-natural cosmetics company that could be folded into Beauty Of Nature. Neil thought it sounded good but advised Adam to review it with Victoria. J.T. informed Adam that he was no longer a suspect in the security breach.
Victoria tracked down Brad and asked if he broke into the Newman computer
files. He denied it but she didn't believe him. Brad allowed, "I think you
know me to be a fairly competitive person... and I will do whatever it takes to make Jabot a success." Victoria said she will let this time slide
"because of Abby and Colleen," but she will have him arrested if there's a
next time.
As Colleen and Adrian helped Lily move into her new place, Devon worried about her passing out the night before. "Please don't tell anybody what happened," Lily begged her brother. She and Colleen then checked their grades on a recent exam in Developmental Psych and Lily discovered she flunked. Chloe called with the news that Lily was a hit at the party so they had a busy week.
Brad invited David over to his place with some other guys for a few beers.
David accepted... Chloe offered a rundown Lily some pills to help pep her up but she refused.... Victoria apologized to Adam but he wasn't very
receptive. Victoria was later upset when she learned from Neil that Adam
wanted to acquire a smaller cosmetics company. She then blasted Adam and he called her "vindictive." ... Nikki confided in Kay about David's gambling addiction.... David was surprised to show up at Brad's house to find a poker game being set up. David wanted to leave but Brad convinced him to stay.
Jack and Sharon showed up at the Abbott mansion in search of the M.I.A.
Alistair. Jeff told them about Lauren's sighting and how she got injured.
"You two are in serious trouble," warned Jeff. A furious Michael arrived and accused Jack of being behind the haunting, then threatened him with a
lawsuit. They were all shocked when Alistair showed up at the door, then ran away. Michael gave chase.
