Victoria sat at the coffeeshop, daydreaming about how things would be when Victor returned. Nick interrupted her thoughts, and told Victoria not to get her hopes up, since Nikki said Victor had no plans of returning to Genoa City. A few feet away, Michael got a text summoning him to the ranch.

Adam jumped out of Heather's arms and out of his skin when he saw Victor standing in front of them. Victor scowled at Adam, then walked out of the room without saying a word. He retreated to his study, and Michael soon showed up and asked Adam what he wanted. Adam said he didn't call for him. Michael was confused, until the maid showed him into the study where he found Victor. "I knew you were okay." Michael exclaimed. Victor wanted to get down to business, so he and Michael began talking about Newman. Michael told him Adam's first order of business was to fire Neil and Victoria. Michael called Neil and asked him to come to the ranch right away. Victor asked if Michael had anything else to say, and Michael added that Adam had named Brad CEO of Newman. Victor was noticeably disturbed, especially when Michael explained that Adam was all about business lately, while Nick and Victoria were concerned about Victor's survival.

At the Chancellor estate, Jill continued to bash Chloe, until Esther overheard her and told Jill not to criticize her daughter. At home, Chloe presented Cane with papers outlining her legal rights to the baby, but Cane said they didn't matter, since she'd lied to him about everything. Chloe said she wanted to tell him the truth, but couldn't find the right moment. Cane didn't believe a word she said. Back at the Chancellor estate, Katherine urged Esther to have a heart-to-heat with Chloe. "You deserve answers," she said.

Later, Jill went to Cane and told him she'd spoken with a lawyer about getting his marriage annulled. Cane told Jill he'd handle it himself. Jill sensed his hesitation and told him not to worry about Chloe. Cane was offended when Jill belittled Chloe for being the daughter of a maid, but Jill told him she would take care of the problem by offering Chloe a sum of money she wouldn't be able to refuse, so she would get lost after she had the baby. Later, Esther met Chloe at Crimson Lights and asked her why she came to Genoa City. Chloe said she wanted a better life for herself, and Esther accused Chloe of being ashamed of her because she was a maid. Chloe told her mom she no longer needed to be a servant because her child was now a Chancellor. Later Chloe showed up at the estate to move in, since she couldn't live with Cane's abuse.

While Neil and Victoria considered going to search for Victor, Nick got a call telling him Victor was at the ranch. When they arrived, they were annoyed when Michael told them Victor didn't want to see them yet. When Neil showed up, Adam asked why he was there, but Michael smirked and ushered Neil in to see Victor. Neil welcomed Victor back, and Victor reinstated Neil as the head of the company. "My son, in my absence, screwed up royally," Victor said. "Rest assured I'm going to fix that." When Neil left, Adam went in to see Victor. Victor told Adam that Neil was reinstated as head of the company. He then fired Adam and asked him to leave the ranch.
