Monday

Nikki brought Reed a pre-christening present. "Miracles do happen," she told Victoria, who teared up. JT came home with a shopping bag. While Reed took a nap, Nikki headed home. "See you later," the proud grandmother said. Victoria worried that Victor might bring Sabrina to the christening. JT said he'd invited Adam to the festivities but Adam declined, saying he was too busy to make it. Victoria was relieved to hear that and wished Sabrina and Adam had never come to Genoa City.

David brought Nikki to the ranch for the christening. Nikki ran into Sabrina, and they noticed they were dressed similarly. Things were clearly icy between them. Victor announced that Sabrina would be coming to the christening. "No, they didn't inform me," Victoria said as she entered the tense living room. "You should have discussed this with Victoria," Nikki advised. Victor reminded them that this was his house "and I'll damn well invite whomever I want." Noah arrived and asked who Sabrina was. Sharon arrived. Nikki glared at Sabrina. "I'm not going to let her ruin our day," Victoria declared. Nicholas said he was asked to be godfather because he knew the Newman secret family pitch. Sabrina asked for a moment with Victoria. She apologized for making things awkward, but Victoria rejected her former friend's baby gift. "I bought it before," Sabrina offered. It was a silver rattle from one of Victoria's favorite stores. Victoria choked up and left to see her son. David commented to Nikki that Victor's "insensitivity is off the charts." Then David got yet another mysterious phone call. Paul showed up, much to JT's relief. "This place is crawling with Newmans," he quipped. David said the phone calls were from Jabot, and he was fielding them on Nikki's behalf. He boasted about Nikki's great work at the company. Nick said hello to his father and Sabrina. Victor thought Nick had been rude and went after him. The christening took place with Nick and Phyllis as godparents. They said a few words to the baby. Phyllis reported that she had done some research on godmothers. Nick reported that he had found all of Victoria's old notebooks. Nick said he always dreamed that he and Victoria would raise their children and was happy that that did work out. Nick said that Reed would be a Cubs fan, despite the fact that JT is a Sox aficionado. During the musical montage, Nikki saw Sabrina and Victor kiss.

Cane visited Neil, who knew that Lily had turned down Cane's wedding proposal.
Lily came down and showed Neil the necklace Cane had given her. Lily and Cane went to have their first ultrasound. "Make sure they get a nice clear picture," Neil said as he waved them off. Neil left a message for Karen. "We need to figure out how to make it all work out," he said hopefully. Devon came down, but wasn't interested in breakfast. He caught his father looking at Lily's baby pictures. Apparently, Lily had wanted to take a lion cub home when they had taken little Lily to the zoo for the first time.

At the doctor's office, Lily admitted that she was a little nervous. Lily met Dr. Chang, and wondered when she would start showing. (Three or four months, said the doctor.) Lily and Cane kissed. They were clearly very excited. The parents-to-be said hello to the baby via sonogram. The technician left but Lily and Cane wondered why she hadn't answered their next question. Hmmm. The doctor came in with horrible news. "I'm very sorry, Lily; you are not pregnant. You have an embryonic pregnancy. The sac is empty," she said. The doctor tried to explain it was nature's way of weeding out what isn't viable. Cane tried to comfort an obviously upset Lily, who ran into Neil's arms when she went home.

Earlier, Adam dropped by Phyllis' office. She reported she was to be Reed's godmother. Phyllis was frustrated because she couldn't find her car keys. Adam immediately located them. He thought the cover story looked great.
Apparently, Nick hadn't thought so and wanted a re-shoot. Sabrina walked in. Adam was stunned to learn she was going to be at the christening. He referred to her recent "sexapade" he had walked in on last night. Sabrina reminded Adam that at least she was with someone who was available and single. She snarked that Adam was interested in a married
woman.

Tuesday

On Daniel and Amber's second date, Amber whined about how Cane looked at Lily like she was the most precious thing in the world. She seemed envious of Cane's love for Lily, but Daniel reminded her that they were the kind of people that didn't like to be tied down, which is why they worked so well together.

Nikki told Victoria she was proud of her for being gracious and letting Sabrina stay at Reed's christening. Victoria said she didn't want Reed's special day to be ruined, and that she wanted to let go of the anger. When Nick stopped by to discuss a few Jabot adds, he tried to convince Victoria to think about joining the Restless Style team. Nikki also told her she'd always have a place at Jabot as well. After Nick left, Nikki and Victoria continued to chat. Adam stopped by with a present for Reed, but when he saw Nikki and Victoria chatting, he didn't want to interrupt.

After Nikki left, Victoria noticed a gift outside the door. When she opened the card, she realized it was from Adam, and when she opened the box, she was moved by his thoughtfulness. Later, Victoria went to see Victor, who told her he was returning Beauty of Nature to her control. Victoria was thrilled until Victor added he was giving Adam the mergers and acquisitions department.

Phyllis and Nikki got into a fight when Sharon killed a fashion feature without consulting Phyllis, or anyone else. Sharon claimed it didn't work, but Phyllis told her she couldn't make editorial decisions without checking with the team. Nick interrupted with news that Felicia wanted to buy more ad space so they needed to make room for it. Phyllis and Sharon continued to argue, and another fight broke out when Amber got tired of Daniel touching all over her and only wanting to be with her when he was getting lucky. She yelled at him in the office, causing a scene before she stormed away. Later, Daniel asked Amber why she was so angry. She told him she wanted to be like Lily, the kind of girl who could have happily ever after, not just happy right now. Daniel told her he did care about her, and after he calmed her down they kissed and made up.

Meanwhile, Neil and Cane tried to comfort Lily, but all she wanted to do was sleep. Neil told Cane he'd call when she woke up, but Cane insisted he wanted to stay. Shortly after, Kay called to invite her grandson to dinner to discuss the ultrasound. Cane said he'd be right there, and Neil told him to say what was on his heart and lean on his mom and grandmother for strength. Neil added that he had observed how Cane had stepped up during the difficult time, and promised he wouldn't forget it.

When Cane went to see Kay and Jill, he told them the bad news about the baby. He tried to move on to talk about business, but Jill told him he needed to time to deal with what he'd lost. She told Cane about a time when she lost a baby, and how devastated she was. She added that having him gave her so much joy, and one day he'd be able to experience that same joy when he had a child.

When Lily woke up, Neil got a call to go into the office. He promised he wouldn't be gone long, and Lily sat on the couch and opened an old music box. When Karen stopped by to get the last of her things, she asked Lily how the baby was doing. Lily reported she'd lost the baby. Karen offered her condolences and stayed to comfort Lily for a while. On her way out, she ran into Neil and told him she was sorry about Lily. Karen said she wasn't trying to be cruel by leaving, but Neil told her that's exactly what she was being. When Neil went inside, he found Lily sobbing and blaming herself for the baby's death.

Wednesday

Adam welcomed Skye with a passionate kiss. After making out, the two reminisced about old times. When Adam got dressed to head to the office, Skye checked out the club. Brad overheard her talking about cards at the bar and started up a conversation with her. They flirted with each other, and played cards to determine who'd by the first drink. Brad offered to give her pointers on cards, and he invited her to his upcoming game. When she returned to Adam's, she told him how she pretended not to know about poker and got invited to a game.

Victoria railed against Victor for taking acquisitions away from her, but Victor didn't understand why she was upset since she wanted Beauty of Nature. Victoria said the change would take all of her power away and give it to Adam, but Victor said he was doing it because it was a smart business move. Seeing she couldn't get through to Victor, Victoria walked out.

David pressured Nikki about their wedding, and asked her why she still wasn't ready to marry him. Nikki assured him that she did want to marry, but she needed him to be patient. David understood, and he told Nikki to bear with him because he's always been an impatient person. While they chatted, David stepped away to make a call to his credit card company to ask for a cash advance. When Brad sat down at the bar next to him, David hung up quickly. David asked if he could join his next poker game, and Brad welcomed him. When David returned to the table, Nikki asked who was on the phone. David flipped and said he couldn't take her asking so many questions. He accused Nikki of not trusting him, and told her he was becoming resentful.

At Indigo, Paul told J.T. about a conversation she'd had with Nikki regarding her concerns about David. Nikki didn't ask Paul to spy on David, but Paul wanted to check him out anyway since Nikki had so many concerns about his gambling addiction. J.T. agreed to keep his eyes open and help Paul with the investigation.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey made plans for a surprise display of affection for Gloria. When he sat down at her table at the club, Gloria criticized him for being insensitive and called him clueless. Jeffrey told Gloria their night together was magical, and they shouldn't ruin it. Gloria said she was ashamed because her road to enlightenment took a detour. Jeffrey said he liked the new direction, and he said Gloria shouldn't be so hard on herself. When Gloria continued to complain about Jeffrey not being romantic enough, he got up from the table and canceled the surprise he'd set up for her.

Later, Gloria ran into Michael and Lauren and told them she was adopting. "Adopting what?" Lauren asked. When she told them she wanted a baby, Michael responded, "That is perhaps the most idiotic idea in your whole history of idiotic ideas." When Gloria met with a rep from the adoption agency, she asked how long it would take before she'd be a new mother. She was disappointed when he said a few years. When he told Gloria about the fingerprinting and background checks, she told him that was too intrusive and that she'd changed her mind. When she returned to the club, Jeffrey told her he was leaving. When she asked what she was supposed to do without him, he responded, "Quite frankly, my dear...."

Thursday

The staff at Restless Style congratulated Nick and Phyllis on their first anniversary. Phyllis read aloud the first clue in what appeared to be a scavenger hunt for gifts, then asked her son how his relationship was going with Amber. Daniel said he was happy. Phyllis found the second gift — a GPS device — and then went on to find a few more. Nick promised his happy wife they would have 100 anniversaries.

Victor held a brief meeting but asked Victoria to stay after the meeting ended. Adam made his proposal. Victor agreed with the acquisition but Victoria didn't. Victoria was upset that her father agreed with Adam and not her. She charged into Adam's office and told him off. "You tried to set me up and failed," her brother reminded her. Victoria replied that their father was just being nice to him to make up for not being there for him as a child.
"I can't wait to see you fall from grace," she seethed. Neil interrupted.
Victoria asked Neil for his opinion of Adam. "He brings a lot to the table,"
Neil said. Adam ran into Victor in the elevator. Victor warned him that if his proposal fails, "You'll have both of us to answer to."

Karen ran into Neil in the kitchen. She tried to convince him that she still cares about Lily. Neil returned a bracelet Karen left at his house. Victor asked Neil to keep an eye on Adam and his new acquisition. Neil warned Victor that he might lose his daughter over this business deal.

Jack told a prospective client that his partner was Nick Newman, not Victor.
Jack came home to find Sharon already there. She couldn't take anymore of "the anniversary show." Sharon clearly still takes issue with the fact that Nick turned to another woman after Cassie died. "I'm sorry it still bothers me," she said. "Don't ever apologize to me about honest emotions," Jack replied, adding that Nick and Phyllis' affair still bothers him, as well.

Jill was surprised to see Cane in the office. She told her son someone else could handle his work, "if you want to be with Lily." Jill was stunned to learn that he hadn't heard from Lily and that she had spent that night at her father's. Moments later, though, Lily showed up at the office, much to Cane's relief. Over lunch, Lily assured Cane she was feeling fine. "It wasn't even a baby," she reasoned, and added that she didn't want to talk about it. She took a call from Mrs. Forrester and said she was excited about working with her.

Katherine asked Jill about her relationship with Jeffrey. "He's staying in the guest room," Jill told her mother. Jill added that Jeffrey could give them insight into Gloria. "When he lets his guard down, we'll be there,"
she said. At the house, Jeffrey asked Esther for a small steak, very rare.
Gloria dropped in, pretending to be surprised to see him. Jeffrey enjoyed exchanging verbal barbs with Gloria.

Alistair visited Kay, looking for Jill. Jeffrey joined them in his bathrobe.
Alistair wondered if Jeffrey had spent the night with Jill, thereby giving him permission to pursue Gloria. He found Gloria and told her the news of Jeffrey's new home. Gloria was stunned. "I am supposed to be here when your time of need is here," Alistair offered.

Kay told Amber how she met Phillip Chancellor, the great love of her life. They had gone from friends to lovers. Amber listened carefully to Kay's story, clearly identifying her current situation with Daniel to Kay's past. Kay told Amber that she believes two people can stay in love for a long time. "I want that so bad," Amber admitted. She added that she truly cares for Daniel. Back at the office, Amber told Daniel that Lily lost the baby. They decided not to approach Lily or say anything. Amber hinted to Daniel that she'd like him to stay with her every night. Daniel was pleased.

Friday

Jeffrey wondered to Gloria if perhaps they were making a mistake about getting a divorce. The two bantered. "The game became the thing. I never planned on falling for you, but I did," Jeffrey explained, trying to convince Glo that he truly cares for her. He urged her to "risk it. You want to be with me," he insisted. "I thought I did the other night, but the next day you connected with Jill," Gloria answered, eyes filled with tears. Jeffrey backed off. "I buried two husbands I loved with all my heart, and I can certainly live without one I hate," Gloria sneered.

A frazzled Phyllis was desperate to find a writer so "they wouldn't spend the evening writing instead of celebrating their anniversary." Then the lights went out. Nick put a blindfold on his wife. "Where are we going?" she asked. Nick brought her into another room, which was decorated with colored lights. "You brought New Mexico to us," Phyllis said delightedly. Nick had planned an entire romantic evening, including ordering the wrong part for the printer so she'd be forced out of the office for a while. Then Nick brought out the big surprise — country singer Trace Adkins. After Trace performed, Nick told Phyllis how special she is to him.

Paul watched Brad as he asked his daughter Heather out. He admitted to Lauren that he wasn't happy about that relationship. Lauren and Paul couldn't believe that they would have been married 24 years that day. Paul said goodbye and Gloria joined her daughter-in-law. "I admit it, every time I try to do the right thing I make things worse," Gloria groaned. Lauren guessed it was about Jeffrey. "It's classic Gloria. Why have peace when you can have drama?" Lauren deadpanned. Lauren pointed out that that Gloria doesn't stick with anything. "These are not the actions of an enlightened woman. You can start by being honest," Lauren suggested. Lauren urged her to tell Jeffrey how she really feels about him. "It's never too late," Lauren added. Gloria called Keith Joyner and left a message that she needs to see him tonight. When they met, Glo told him she wanted to give half her money to charity.

Nikki ran into Paul and the two had dinner. They reminisced. "Any regrets?"
Paul asked. She referred to David as "the anti-Victor." Nikki admitted that she was worried that David might be gambling again. "I don't trust him,"
Nikki hated to admit.

Smart woman, Nikki... David told her he had a business call that night, but he didn't — he was playing poker with Brad and Adam's friend, Skye. David thought he had won at first, but Brad did. David looked upset, understandably. Fortunately, David did win the second round. The poker night appeared young, however.

Jill played hardball with Nikki, David and Brad over Jabot's business practices. Nikki told David that Jill was micromanaging her. David treated Nikki with a massage gift certificate. Meanwhile, Brad vowed his loyalty to Jill. "I'll help you any way I can," he said. Later, Jeffrey asked Jill if they could have dinner, but Jill couldn't because she had a lot of work to do. Jeffrey called his lawyer and insisted she file divorce papers immediately, adding that he wants half of everything. Jill overheard that last bit when she arrived home after a long night at the office.
