Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of December 17, 2007

Monday

Noah was disappointed when Sharon and Jack had to postpone their family
vacation to France. When Noah left, Jack told his wife, "You have made a
difference in my life. You've made me a better person." Sharon pointed out
that she can no longer trust her husband.

Michael confirmed to Phyllis that Jana was the one who helped him find
John's letter. While Michael gloated about Jack's misery, Phyllis questioned
if the letter is authentic; Baldwin claimed it is. Jack showed up and
Phyllis went over to check on him. He wasn't too optimistic about his
marriage. "My body literally aches from worry," Jack lamented; Phyllis
advised him not to give up hope. After inviting Jack to Summer's first
birthday party, Phyllis then confessed that Jana must've overheard her
asking the prison chaplain about John and his will so that's how Gloria
ultimately tracked down the letter. "This is not your fault," assured Jack.
"You are not to blame for someone else's actions."

Kevin tried to buoy Jana's spirits about her fate. It didn't help when her
public defender, a young man named Aiden, who just got out of law school,
showed up. Both Kevin and Jana were alarmed after a very inexperienced Aiden
only stayed for a brief visit then left. "I've got Doogie Howser as my
lawyer!" exclaimed a distressed Jana. "I'm gonna spend the rest of my life
in this prison!" Kevin found Michael and asked his brother to defend Jana.
Michael refused but later sought out Phyllis's opinion about Jana. "I don't
think that she is innately evil," answered Phyl. "I honestly believe that
that medical condition made her act that way." Phyllis then went to prison
to visit Jana and urged Ms. Hawkes to keep on telling the truth. Meanwhile,
Kevin was thrilled when Michael agreed to represent Jana. Kevin relayed the
good news to Jana.

While Brad was convinced that he will be named the father of Victoria's
baby, Victor and J.T. hoped Carlton won't be. "That would be disastrous,"
grumbled Vic. When Brad left the hospital to check in at the office, the
doctor showed up with the paternity test results and confirmed that J.T. is
the baby's father.

At Newman Enterprises, Sharon commiserated with Brad over her marriage woes.
He shared that when the paternity test proves that he's the baby's father, he
will not let Victor anywhere near the child. Sharon warned that Brad could
be starting a war. Before heading over to the hospital, Brad advised Sharon
to do what's best for Noah when it comes to her marriage and they hugged.
Jack walked in and got mad. "You need to keep your hands occupied," snarked
Jack. "Why don't you pick up a pair of hedge clippers?" Sharon was
infuriated by the outburst and stormed off. Jack later tried to apologize to
a fed-up Sharon but she announced that after the holidays, she and Noah are
moving out.

Tuesday

Victor and J.T. reveled over the latter being named the father of Victoria's
baby. Nikki and Brad showed up to hear the news and Carlton was visibly
upset. Victor not so subtly informed Brad that there was no need for him to
hang around the hospital anymore. J.T. later told Brad that, as the baby's
father, he's in charge now and that Brad was welcomed to stay. The doctor
then reported to the new dad that his son's condition was faring better.
Meanwhile, Nikki offered her condolences to Brad. "Throughout this whole
ordeal I really saw the best of you," she commended.

As the news of his fatherhood sunk in, J.T. told Victor that he didn't want
to wait for Victoria to wake up to name their son. Victor agreed and
reminded J.T. that Victoria has a book of baby names. Later, J.T. decided to
name his son Reed, which is Nikki's maiden name.

Brad updated Sharon with the paternity news and she offered comfort, then
urged him to let out his feelings. "Denial is a beautiful thing," he
quipped, then started unloading his despair and disappointment.

Nikki suggested that she and Victor call a truce so that they could both
attend Summer's birthday party. But Vic put the kibosh on any peacemaking
when he announced, "The money you borrowed from me for that ridiculous Clear
Springs development is due — in its entirety." Nikki was appalled by her
husband's audacity but he contended that he was saving her from further
financial ruin. David showed up and Victor stormed off. Nikki was upset that
David knew about Victor's plan to call in the loans but he said the timing
wasn't right to tell her. Nikki accepted David's heartfelt apology and he
proposed that they go to the media about Victor's

Lily told Colleen how she almost kissed Cane and that might mean he isn't
sensitive anymore about their age difference. In the GCAC dining room, Cane
then invited Lily to join him and his mother for a meeting. When Jill was
trying to come up with a publicity campaign, Lily suggested shooting the ads
in France. Jill loved the idea and left. Can then explained to Lily that he
shouldn't have kissed her

Katherine needed to work out to rehab her injured shoulder and offered to
pay for Amber's gym membership if "you become my motivator." Amber accepted
and as they worked out, Kay recalled when she and Jill once had a physical
scuffle. Amber was stunned then suggested that Kay write her memoirs some
day. La Chancellor went on to explain how she and Jill were in love with the
same man (Cane's father) and he died after Kay drove them over a cliff. She
then urged Amber to let go of Cane because he doesn't love her — the way his
father didn't love Kay.

Nikki announced to Victor that she was suing him. "You ruined the
development with your senseless drilling," she charged. "And you have to pay
for that."

Wednesday

Nikki informed David that she intends to sue Victor. "He can't bully me,"
she declared. Meanwhile, at Summer's birthday party, Victor announced to
Nick, Phyllis and Daniel that J.T. is the father of Victoria's baby, which
seemed to please everyone. Vic then privately shared with Nick that he's
calling in Nikki's loan. "You're not just hurting mom, you're hurting all of
us," Nick noted. Nikki and David showed up and Victor left. Nick told his
mom that he didn't approve of Victor's actions and Nikki revealed her plans
to sue, to which Nick disagreed with. "Somebody has to step in and make a
stand and stop all this nonsense," affirmed Nikki.

Jack asked Sharon to give him another chance but she didn't know if she
could ever trust him again. They and Noah headed to Summer's party and
Phyllis immediately sensed the tension between Mr. and Mrs. Abbott. While
Nick and Jack discussed Clear Springs business, Phyllis urged Sharon not to
make any life-altering decisions until she sees the letter Jack wrote when he
was trapped in the collapsed garage.

Gloria barged into Kevin's apartment to hide Michael and Lauren Christmas
presents. On cue, Michael and Lauren showed up to hide Glo's gift. Michael
wasn't happy to hear that his mother announced she was spending the holidays
with Jeffrey. "Don't trust this man," Michael warned. "He is sleazy! He's
after your money!" Gloria argued that Jeffrey is a good man but Michael and
Lauren weren't convinced. Glo then left to have dinner with Jeffrey but told
Kevin to sit nearby and glare. Lauren and Michael went to Summer's party,
where Nick revealed that his mom is going to sue his dad.

Victor showed up at the hospital and J.T. revealed that he named his son
Reed. Victor convinced J.T. to go home and get some rest. After J.T. left,
Victor told Reed "Your Grandpa's a tough old bird. I'll always be at your
side."

At Crimson Lights, Lily lamented to Colleen that Cane just wants to be
pals. "He said he likes me, but he just can't deal with my age," groaned
Lily, but Colleen opined that Cane really did care. Of course, Cane suddenly
walked in and Lily debated whether or not she should acknowledge him.
Colleen suggested a simple "hi" but Cane left before Lily could work up the
courage to approach him. Lily went to the gym but Cane was already there
too. They said a civil hello and continued with their workouts.

Gloria met Jeffrey who noticed Kevin sitting at the bar. "Why don't we give
him a show?" suggested Jeff and he started pouring on the affection with
Gloria. After dinner, Jeffrey called an end to their evening and departed.
Michael and Lauren appeared and Kevin lied that maybe Jeffrey isn't "as bad
as we think."

Back at home, Sharon found Jack's letter and read it. She was obviously
moved by his words. Sharon then told Jack that she won't seek a
divorce just yet but she still wanted to move out so "I can think about this
clearly."

Thursday

At the GCAC, Nikki informed Katherine that Victor wants to call in her loan
so he can punish her for their marriage falling apart. Nikki was determined
to fight Victor and keep him from walking all over her, then revealed that
she's suing Victor for causing the Clear Springs disaster. She invited Kay
to join her, but Kay wasn't so sure. Kay agreed to consider it.

At Newman, Neil gave Victor a gift for Victoria. Victor told Neil that Nikki
is suing him in order to get out of paying back her loan. Neil advised him
to settle, rather than drawing everything out.

Lily worked out at the gym. Cane offered to spot her, but she coldly turned
him down. Later, Neil arrived at the gym, and Karen joined him. He filled
her in on the Newmans' drama.

Amber, her arms full of gifts and Christmas items, went overboard decorating
her, Daniel and Kevin's place. Daniel soon returned home and wondered what
she was up to. "Are you moonlighting as one of Santa's elves?" he asked.
Daniel then noticed several bills sticking out of her purse; she lied that
she'd earned the money in "CD pre-sales." Daniel didn't really believe her.

Lily joined Devon at Crimson Lights. Things became awkward when Cane entered
the coffeehouse. Devon wanted to know why she hadn't said hello to Cane. She
replied that Devon should mind his own business, then left. Amber was also
at the coffeehouse and questioned Devon about Lily, but he wouldn't discuss
her with Amber. Amber wanted to give Cane a Christmas gift, but he refused
to accept anything from her. Amber tried to butter up Devon by suggesting
they get together and write music. Lily was angry when she returned and saw
Devon and Amber talking and laughing. Neil later joined them and asked if
his kids minded if he invited Karen over for the holidays. They approved,
and Lily even replied that Karen is starting to grow on her.

Kay called Victor and asked if they could get together to discuss business.
He invited her out to the ranch.... David showed Nikki the document he'd had
lawyers draw up for the lawsuit. She was shocked to see it was for half a
billion dollars. Wow!... At the ranch, Kay told Victor that she hated what
was happening to his and Nikki's relationship. Victor refused to back down,
explaining that Nikki wouldn't listen to his advice and had wanted to be
treated like anyone else in business. Kay called him vindictive. Later, Kay
met up with Nikki and David, and decided to join their fight against Victor.
David was proud of Nikki for standing up for herself. Nikki was confident
that she could beat Victor at his own game.... Maggie paid Victor a visit to
question him about Ji Min. She revealed that she has a tape of Victor
confronting Kim. Maggie also informed him that they found traces of Ji Min's
blood in Victor's gym bag. Victor denied killing him and threw her out.

Friday

Katherine suggested to Nikki and David that they ask Jack to join the
lawsuit against Victor. At first, Nik didn't like the idea, but finally gave
in. At the GCAC, the trio made the pitch to Jack. "What started out as our
dream project has become our nightmare, courtesy of Victor Newman," summed
up Nikki. Jack said he wanted to go after Victor on his own but David
pointed out there was strength in numbers.

Sharon admitted to Jack she wasn't ready to tell Noah that they were moving
out. She then visited Nick and Phyllis to share that she and Jack were
separating. Sharon announced she was moving back into her old house, where
Nikki was now living. "Good luck with that," said Phyl.

At Crimson Lights. J.T. told Paul that he was a dad. "He's already got me
wrapped around his little finger," J.T. Smiled bout his son. Paul started
beating himself up for being an absentee father and revealed that Heather is
his daughter. "She doesn't wanna have anything to do with me," Paul
lamented. J.T. urged Paul to go talk to Heather, who was sitting nearby.
Paul approached her and asked if she would join him and Maggie for the
holidays, but she turned him down.

Neil showed up at the ranch to tell Victor that the insurance company wasn't
going to cough up very much for the Clear Springs cleanup. "I'm sure they're
taking a hard line because the drilling company is owned by you personally
and not Newman Enterprises," Neil pointed out. Victor then revealed that the
police found Ji Min's blood in Victor's gym bag. Nick later showed up to
discuss the holidays, then reminded his dad that Christmas was a time for
forgiveness. Victor huffed that Nikki started all this trouble. "I know if
you hadn't started drilling, my sister wouldn't be in a coma," Nick charged.
"And your grandson wouldn't be fighting for his life." An infuriated Victor
ordered his son to leave.

Sharon became upset when Jack told her that Nikki and Kay asked him to be a
part of their lawsuit against Victor. She then headed over to her old house
and told Nikki that she and Noah were moving back in. Nikki was surprised
and agreed to Sharon's offer to be roomies.

After Heather gave Daniel the bill for her car repairs, she became curious
over how he was able to forgive his mother for not being there for most of
his life. "I just gave her another chance," Daniel answered. "And you know
what? I'm glad I did. Because I can't imagine my life without her in it....
Everyone deserves a second chance. Some people, they need a third and a
fourth." Heather found Paul and Maggie at the GCAC and asked it was okay she
joined them for the holidays. He happily said yes.

Jack gave Nikki and Kay his approval to add him to the lawsuit. Meanwhile,
Neil confirmed for Victor that Chancellor Industries did use substandard
concrete with the construction of the parking structure but it didn't cause
the explosion. Victor then announced that he was going to counter sue.
