Y&R Week of February 11, 2008
Monday
Amber and Daniel woke up hungover and realized they had sex. Kevin and Jana
walked in on the couple. Amber ran to take a shower while Daniel insisted to
Kevin that it was just a one-night stand. Amber reported to work at Crimson
Lights and verified that same thing to Jana. "Daniel's my best friend,"
Amber noted, but Jana declared that these pals were "quite terrific
together!" Amber decided that she needed to move out of the apartment.
Daniel showed up and asked if there night together would affect their
friendship, but she assured him that nothing would change. However, Jana
opined to Kevin that Amber and Daniel were meant to be together and needed a
"nudge" to make them realize that. Kevin advised his girlfriend not to
meddle.
Nick and Jack decided they needed to find an office space for their new
webzine venture. Phyllis showed Jack some of Daniel's photo work and asked
if he could have an entry-level position. Jack agreed and was surprised,
along with Sharon, when Nick announced that Nikki was now in charge at
Jabot. They all agreed that Jabot would be a great company to land as a
client.
As Nikki prepared for her first staff meeting at Jabot, Jill revealed that
Victor tried to convince her not to hire his ex-wife. After the meeting,
Brad arrived and Gloria overheard him ask Nikki if she still wanted to hire
him at Jabot. "If your offer is enticing enough, Nikki, I'm in," said Brad.
At Crimson Lights, Brad told Neil that he wanted out of his contract. Neil
mentioned that Victor will be very unhappy once he learns that Brad is going
to Jabot.
Gloria groused to Kevin about Brad coming to Jabot. Kev informed his mother
to focus on getting rid of Jeffrey instead. Kevin outlined that Glo
needed to take small portions of the poison so she'll develop a tolerance to
a bigger, more incriminating dosage later. "We have to get it into your
bloodstream," warned Kevin. "Otherwise, the cops are not gonna believe that
he's trying to kill you." Gloria took her first minute dose and became sick.
Kevin said it was in her head, but Jeff showed up and was worried about her
health.
J.T. suggested to Victoria that they take Reed and move back to the loft.
"As long as we live on the ranch, I'm in Victor's shadow," he explained. "So
I'd really like to move out before he gets back." Victoria was worried about
leaving her mother alone, but finally agreed. Nikki was depressed to hear
about their moving plans, but understood. Victoria suggested they go out to
celebrate her mom's first day on the job at Jabot. While they were lunching
at Crimson Lights, Victoria told Neil that she wanted to come back to work
at Newman "as soon as humanly possible." A concerned J.T. wanted his wife to
take her time with her recovery.
Victor arrived at Hope's house in Kansas to visit his bed-ridden former
wife. "I know you wanted to send me to a hospital.... but I just want to die
here, in my home, in my own bed, where I'm comfortable," she explained and
also revealed that their son Victor, Jr. didn't know she was ill. She said
that he was on his way home from New York and that she would tell him then
but worried that he'd be left alone. Victor promised, " I will take care of
him." Hope said it was also time that they tell their son that Victor is his
father.
Heather accepted a dinner date with Daniel, who was surprised to hear that
Amber was looking at an apartment with a swanky address.... Jeff gave his
new car to Kevin.... Jack congratulated Nikki on her new job at Jabot.
Tuesday
Nikki walked in as Nick, Phyllis and Jack (but no Sharon) were brainstorming
about their webzine. Although she was happy that her son was excited about
his new venture, Nikki lamented that her divorce caused such a rift between
Nick and Victor. Nick assured his mom that he felt relief over being "freed
from Victor Newman."
At the Newman ranch, J.T. cautioned Victoria not to rush back to work but
she professed, "I'm not meant to sit around." Nikki showed up and declared
that she and David were trying to set a wedding date. A surprised Victoria
advised her mom to take her time. Nikki asked her daughter to come work at
Jabot but Victoria said she didn't want to come between her parents.
Hope expressed her guilt for keeping her son away from Victor. "I wanted him
to have a simple life and to find his own way and to have all the right
values," she explained. Victor said he understood her motives. She then
shared how their son had put himself through school and now works for an
investment firm on Wall Street. "He has your strength," noted Hope. "He
reminds me so much of you." She also mentioned that their son goes by Vic
and shortly after that, he arrived. Vic was stunned to find his mom in bed
and looking ill. He noticed Victor in the room and asked, "Mom, what's going
on?" Hope informed her son that she was dying of cancer. Vic assumed Victor
was a doctor, then recognized him as the famous business man. Hope reminded
her son that he was named after Victor. When Vic insisted he would find the
best oncologist for her, Hope said there was nothing more that could be done
and asked him to accept her fate. Hope then said, "I want you to know where
you came from, your roots. Victor is your father."
Jill was taken aback when David revealed that he was made co-CEO by Nikki.
"It sounds like your life completely revolves around her," Jill observed.
David later met with Walter who wasn't happy when David only gave him a
portion of what he owes. Walter called David by Clark and Chow reminded his
antagonist that he doesn't go by that name anymore. David informed Walter
that he was named co-CEO of a "huge company" and would be able to pay back
his entire debt in six months.
Chloe was not pleased when Lily tried on a very short and very constricting
dress for an upcoming press conference. "It's too tight," Chloe opined. "You
drink a lot of water? You might feel a little bloated?" Devon was shocked by
Chloe's remarks. Devon became upset when he later caught his sister checking
out her body in the mirror. "I think that Chloe girl is sending you the
wrong messages," he grumbled.
Nikki told David she wanted to hold off on setting a wedding date until
Victoria adjusted to the divorce... Nick, Phyllis and J.T. reluctantly
filled in Victoria on the life and death decision that was waged while she
was in her coma.
Wednesday
Vic was stunned to learn that Victor, not Cliff Wilson was his biological
father. Hope explained that she asked Victor to stay out of their son's life
and he respected her wishes. She asked the guys to get to know each other so
Victor asked to see Vic in the kitchen. When they were alone, Vic wasn't
interested in any of Victor's overtures. "The fact that you may be my
biological father... it really means nothing to me," Vic affirmed and Victor
put on his coat and left the house. Vic returned to his mother's bedside,
where she begged him not to judge and hate Victor. At one point, Vic began
to panic when Hope became disoriented with pain. He was surprised when
Victor showed up.
At Crimson Lights, Kevin informed Gloria that Jeff was falling in love with
her. "He loves my money," Glo scoffed. Kevin explained that soon she'll have
to act sick enough to go to the hospital so they'll find the poison in her
bloodstream. "The spouse is always the first suspect," Gloria clucked.
Meanwhile, Jeff suspected that his wife was up to something.
At Indigo with Lily, Cane gave Neil a rare jazz album. "I can't believe
this," Neil said in awe. "I have been looking for this album for years."
However, he later told Karen that he felt like Cane was trying to buy his
approval but she disagreed. "he's just reaching out to you, that's all,"
Karen noted. Neil sidled up to Cane and they started to bond over past
concert experiences.
Jack hoped to hear news from his lawyer soon on how to get Gloria and
Jeffrey out of the Abbott mansion. Jack was then excited by a phone call and
rushed home with Sharon in tow. Gloria and Jeff were surprised when Jack and
Sharon showed up with a bottle of champagne. "We have plenty to celebrate!"
Jack enthused, then explained the judged ruled that each couple will be
assigned their own private quarters but the kitchen, dining room and living
room must be shared during specified times. "If you overstay your allotted
time, I have the right to throw you out," Jack noted. Gloria was miffed that
Jack got the better bedrooms based on his seniority.
Amber told Kevin and Jana that she found a new apartment. Kevin surmised
that the move was due to Amber's "mattress mambo" with Daniel but she
insisted it wasn't. "I just love being by myself," Amber claimed but then
flashbacked to her night of passion with Daniel.
Lily told Cane that she wanted to make love with him then vowed she would
find somewhere special for them on Valentine's Day.
Thursday
Nikki was depressed as Victoria got ready to move back to the loft. Victoria
then asked her mom about the legal drama that transpired during her coma and
fretted that it drove her parents to divorce court. Nikki assured that the
crisis had "no bearing" on her already-troubled marriage and confirmed that
she and Brad wanted to save the baby while J.T. and Victor wanted to
terminate Victoria's pregnancy to save her. "It was the most difficult
decision of my life," Nikki conceded. "But I truly felt in my heart that
that was what you would want me to do." Victoria assured her mom that she
did the right thing, but Nikki pointed out there was no right or wrong side.
J.T. arrived to pick up his wife and son and bring them to the loft. Nikki
tearfully said goodbye. At the loft, J.T. could tell that something was
bothering his wife but Victoria said she would talk to him about it later.
Meanwhile, Nikki prepared to leave the ranch for the last time with David.
Neil informed Lily that he enjoyed Cane's company at Indigo the night
before. Cane then called and Lily and she told him to meet her at the GCAC in an
hour. Karen showed up and Neil got suspicious when Lily changed into a sexy
red dress then ran off.
Daniel admitted to Amber that things seemed weird between them since they
hooked up. She agreed that things were a little awkward and he suggested
that they start dating other people. "I'm pretty much done with dating for
now," lamented Amber. "I think I'm just gonna focus on my career." She
showed him some new designs she made to try and wow Sharon — Daniel said he
would put in a good word with Nick.
At Crimson Lights, Jana showed Kevin her message of love to him in the
newspaper but his name was misspelled. He still deemed the gesture as
"awesome." Amber showed up depressed, until Jana announced that a secret
admirer left her a Valentine Day's card. Later, Jana admitted to Kevin that
she got the card for Amber in hopes she would think it was from Daniel.
Nick had a romantic day planned for Phyllis, but she came down with a cold.
"I woke up this morning, I felt like I had an elephant on my chest," she
moaned. Daniel showed up; Nick and Phyllis offered him a job as
"photo/layout person at the magazine." Daniel happily accepted, then touted
Amber's designing talents. When Daniel mentioned that she could really use
the money, Phyllis said she heard Amber was checking out her old penthouse
to rent. "How the hell does she think she can afford that?" wondered a
curious Daniel. Meanwhile, Amber toured the swanky digs and wanted to sign a
lease but the realtor said her credit wasn't strong enough. Amber then
offered to pay six months in advance. Daniel confronted her about her moving
plans and asked where she got the money. Amber claimed she sold some of her
designs but Daniel knew she was lying. He then assumed that she wasn't being
honest because of their one-night stand.
At the GCAC, Lily was thrilled when Cane presented her with her favorite
chocolates from Paris. He wished they could actually run off to the City Of
Lights so Lily led him to a suite she had decorated as if they were in
Paris. She then turned him on by murmuring in French and he asked if she was
sure she wanted to have sex. She assured him that she did and that it wasn't
her first time. The couple hit the sheets.
Karen was shocked when Neil escorted her to Indigo and introduced her to Pat
Benatar. "I kind of arranged a master class to help you overcome your stage
fright," Neil explained to his stunned girlfriend. Karen was a nervous wreck
at first as she sang but seemed to get more comfortable with each note.
Friday
Gloria seemed unperturbed with having allotted time in different parts of the mansion but Jack assured Sharon that Mrs. Bardwell was bugged by the arrangement. Meanwhile, Gloria huddled with Jeff on how to irk their roomies. He suggested they be very messy, but she said it had to be more than that. While Jack, Sharon and Noah were upstairs, Gloria shooed their dog Fisher outside so he'd run away. When Jack and company came downstairs, they immediately noticed that Fisher was gone and started to search the house for him. When the pooch was discovered to be outside, Gloria admitted that she let him out. "You didn't want him doing his business all over the carpet, did you?" Glo asked a fuming Jack. Later, he warned her, "You violated a court order that clearly stipulates you're to respect all property that belongs to us. That's strike one. Two more, I will have you out on the street without so much as a bone to chew on."
After waking up next to each other, Lily asked Cane if anything was different between them. "I feel closer to you now than I ever have," murmured the hunk. They later encountered Neil at the GCAC and he immediately deduced what had happened between them. Later, Cane approached Neil and asked him to accept that Lily is growing up. When Neil asked if Cane loved his daughter, Cane answered, "Yes, sir, I think I am." Meanwhile, Lily confessed to Colleen that she was falling in love. Coll advised her pal to make sure it wasn't infatuation. "I'm in love and I know it," Lily declared.
Pat Benatar advised Karen to get over her stage fright by pretending she was singing all alone. When that didn't work, Pat shared her own special secret for getting over performance nervousness and that seemed to do the trick. Karen sang with more confidence. Neil showed up and admitted to Karen that he needed to accept that he wasn't in charge of Lily's life anymore.
While Vic and Victor made sandwiches in the kitchen, Vic revealed what he found out about his dad on line. "Recently divorced, after raking your wife over the coals," said Vic. "Arrested for murder. My mother may think you're a good soul, but I know better." Vic then checked on his mom and wanted him to come back to New York with him but Hope urged him to accept her fate. She then ordered Vic to take a nap and after he left, she apologized to Victor about Vic's attitude. "Let me give you a little advice about how to handle your son," Hope offered. "This should sound familiar. He doesn't like being told what to do or how to feel." Victor hoped that he doesn't turn off Vic before they have a chance to connect.
Kevin reminded Gloria that she needed to take small doses of poison for two more days in order to build up her tolerance for a big gulp. Gloria decided to have a dinner party so there would be plenty of witnesses when she passes out.
