Y&R Week of February 14, 2011

Monday

Michael came home to find Lauren looking fab in a red dress. "Yowza," he stated. "Is that a legal term?" she joked, and they kissed. After, they went to Gloworm, where Glo and Jeff's charity was in full swing. Jeff spoke fondly of his pooch, Mr. Scruffles.

Gloria was determined to reunite Kevin and Chloe. Jana entered and Glo's face clouded over.... Kevin went upstairs and found Chloe, who'd gone to get some aspirin. The pair fought about the state of their relationship. He accused her of not knowing what she wants. Jana headed toward the stairs, but Gloria stopped her.

Nikki was pleased to see Deacon at Gloworm.... Victor, holding a teddy bear in each arm, peered through the tack house window and was aghast to see Nick kissing Diane. After, he went to the club and taunted Nikki for being with Deacon. He warned that Deacon wanted something from her. Nikki told her ex to butt out, then went outside with Deacon to get some air. She thanked Sharpe for being such a good friend. Deacon argued that he's as big a jackass as Victor, but Nikki didn't believe it.... Victor then called Diane, interrupting her liaison with Nick. He demanded to see her right away. Nick decided to go to Gloworm.... Diane arrived at the club, where Victor bought her champagne and told her how much he enjoys spending time with her. Nick soon entered, just as Victor announced to the crowd that Diane is the woman in his life.

Adam wanted to take Sharon out, but she wasn't sure it was a good idea. She was freaked out that she'd have to go to trial for Skye's murder, but he was confident that she'd be fine. He urged her to go out with him. She finally agreed and they went to Gloworm. Nikki and Deacon returned; Nikki mocked Sharon for being with Deacon, but Sharon wasn't fazed.

Sofia drank alone at the G.C.A.C bar and was embarrassed when her bouquet arrived for her cancelled wedding to Malcolm. The manager gave it to her and felt badly for her situation. Mal arrived and joined her. She regretted not telling him the truth about Cane, but he replied that Cane getting shot wasn't her fault. She still wanted a future with him. He said that he'd come home with her eventually, but for now, wanted to concentrate on caring for a grieving Lily.

Jana asked a woman to lie that there was a press van outside. When Gloria and Jeff went to check it out, Jana finally went upstairs, where Kevin and Chloe were still arguing. They ended up kissing, just as Jana walked in on them. Jana lied that she was worried when Kevin didn't come home; neither he or Chloe bought it. He asked his ex to go. Later, he and Chloe hit the sheets.

Nick went outside and angrily kicked the Dumpster. Diane followed him and tried to explain how she and Victor share a lot of history. "We weren't exclusive," Nick shrugged, but was clearly upset.... Nikki "congratulated" Victor on his relationship with Diane. Victor again warned that Deacon is using her. "I don't give a damn," he sniffed. Nick joined them and asked how long Victor has been seeing Diane. He asked if it was a real romance. "She's a very complicated woman," Victor noted.... Diane said hello to Michael. He reminded her how being by Victor's side has been what she's always wanted.... Nick glowered at Victor and Diane, Nikki and Deacon and Sharon and Adam, and drank away his anger.

Michael and Lauren went home, where they enjoyed a romantic evening. After, they enjoyed some ice cream .... Jeffrey went outside to meet with Angelo. Angelo offered to cut him a break for the charity because it was Valentine's Day.

Gloria interrupted Sharon and Adam's conversation to bring dessert: Bananas Foster. On top of the ice cream scoop was an engagement ring. He got down on one knee and asked Sharon to marry him. Everyone watched, calling her "insane." Still, Sharon happily accepted.

Tuesday

Olivia, Malcolm, Sofia, Traci, Kay, Murphy and Nate gathered at the Chancellor Estate after Cane's funeral. They worried how Lily was doing. Soon, Jill, Devon, Neil and Lily joined them. Lily seemed to be in a daze as the others noted how lovely the service had been. The scene then flashed back to the church to when the service was beginning — and where Lily saw a vision of Cane in white. Back in the present, a distant Lily thought about what she'd seen.

Back at the service, Colin tried to comfort a distraught Jill as she stood by the coffin. Phillip and Billy wondered why Colin seemed to be so affected by Cane's death... In the present, Chloe gave Lily flowers and Lily recalled how Cane preferred flowers to stay in the ground, where they belonged. Neil encouraged her to keep it together for the twins, but she wasn't sure that she'd be able to. Devon promised that it would get better. "Maybe I don't want it to," Lily snapped. Kay interrupted the tense moment by announcing that Esther had put out a buffet. Katherine then comforted Lily and noted that she's also lost loved ones and knows how much it hurts.

Lily again thought back to the service, where Cane's spirit took her hand. In the present, she knocked over the vase of roses. Everyone ran into the living room to see if she was okay. She asked Neil to take her home.

At the service, Jill couldn't get herself to leave. A concerned Colin asked Billy for help. Billy quietly put his arm around his mom as she lamented that he'd died too soon. Billy handed her one of the roses and encouraged her to let go. She kissed the rose, placed it on the coffin, then left with him.... In the present, Tucker and Ashley arrived at the estate and gave Kay their condolences. Esther invited them to have some of the food. When they stepped away, Murphy asked Kay if she was okay with Tucker being there. She replied that she had some things she wanted to say to her son, but didn't think it was the time or place. Still, she ended up telling Tucker that she was surprised to see him at the funeral. Tucker matter-of-factly stated that Cane had stolen from him and wished that Cane had come to him for help. "He trusted you, but he didn't see me as anything other than an employer," McCall said. Kay accused him of leaving Cane out to dry, but Tucker insisted that he would've treated Cane like family if Cane had given him the chance. Tucker angrily left and Ashley followed.

At the Winters' home, Traci put the twins to sleep while everyone else circled around Lily. Lily went to take a nap. Traci advised the family to give Lily time to deal with her grief. Lily slowly sank into her bed — and found Cane's spirit waiting for her. "I knew you'd come," she said. Meanwhile, Devon noted that at times Lily seemed to be having a conversation with someone. Traci didn't think that this was so odd. Mal didn't want to leave her alone.... Lily asked Ghost Cane if he liked the service. He replied that he did. Lily admitted that she'd been surprised by Billy's eulogy.

In the flashback of Billy's speech, Billy admitted how much he'd hated Cane at first. "I think he loved you in his own Billy-like way," Lily told Ghost Cane in the present.... The scene then flashed backed to Phillip's speech, where Phillip broke down over Cane not getting a happy ending. In the present, Lily wished to Cane that she could tell Phillip that it's not the end. After, Lily brought their son over to Ghost Cane, who promised the baby that his mother would love him for who he is. Lily noted that Cane was Jill's real son, even if they didn't share blood.

In the present, Jill, Colin, Billy and Phillip joined Kay and Murphy. When Colin offered to help with some of the funeral arrangements, Kay snapped at him. Jill was angry with Kay, but Kay still didn't trust Jill's new husband. Jill retorted that Colin gave her what she needed that day, while Kay hadn't. Jill flashed back to her speech, where she shared how she and Cane had become mother and son.

In the present, Traci paid Lily a visit and asked if Lily had been talking to someone. Lily didn't answer and commented on how pretty the snow looked. Traci reminded Lily that the spring will be coming soon and that there would be many new things to enjoy. Lily was afraid that she'd forget all the little details about Cane and Traci understood. Lily shared that she'd been looking at old photos of her and Dru from Paris and could only remember so much about that day. She feared that that would happen with Cane. "I want to remember every detail of every moment that we had together," she cried. Traci replied that she won't be able to hold onto everything, but will still have wonderful memories. "It's not the same," Traci pointed out. "It's not so much a close-up, but it's just as beautiful, maybe more so."

Chloe and Kevin went to Crimson Lights. In the flashback to the service, Chloe got a moment alone in the church and spoke aloud to Cane's coffin and apologized for tricking him into marriage and fatherhood. Colin joined her and she shared that she and Cane had had a history. She worried about how Lily would handle life without Cane.

In the present, Traci explained to the Winterses that Lily was "talking" to Cane as a coping mechanism. This worried them, but Traci thought it was a perfectly normal way for her to deal. Daniel stopped by and went to see Lily. In the bedroom, Ghost Cane assured Lily that he'd be there whenever she needed him.

Back at the service, Kay told the crowd that Cane coming into their lives was destiny. "It was fate," she stated. "We were meant to meet him, to know him and to love him. Whatever did we do to deserve that?" In the present, Lily asked Ghost Cane what she did to deserve him. She was about to kiss him, but was interrupted by Daniel's arrival. He told her that he had a lot of faith in her building a good life for the twins and was sure that Cane believed in her, as well. Daniel offered to stay with her, but she turned him down.

Tucker and Ashley returned to the Chancellor Estate. Ash implored them to have a real conversation, but Kay was still angry with him for the way he'd treated Cane. Still, she was willing to make some inroads with her son.

Colin returned to the church and peered in at Cane's coffin. "This isn't over," he vowed.... Ghost Cane promised Lily that she's not alone. "You're not real," she cried. Just then, her window suddenly blew open and there was a montage of everyone speaking at the funeral. In the present, Lily shut her window and looked out into the snow.

Wednesday

Christine brought Chance home from the hospital and to the Chancellor Estate. Chloe entered and asked Kay, Phillip and Chris if he was there and they confirmed it. She then asked if there was any news on an MIA Ronan, but there wasn't; Chris became very frustrated as she made calls to find out about him and didn't get any answers.

Upstairs, Nina and Paul tended to a recovering Chance. He acknowledged that Nina was worried about Ronan and told her that everything would be okay. She urged him not to worry about her and to just get back his strength. After, Chloe came to see him and shared that she's seeing Kevin. Chance asked about her feelings for Ronan and she replied that she'd never date that "creep."

Rafe went to the prison to see Meggie and read a list of the crimes she was in for, including attempted murder. He advised her to cop a plea, but she refused.... Meanwhile at Gloworm, Nikki told Deacon that she intended to see Meggie to get closure. He pleaded with her not to go, but she insisted on warning Victor about Meggie. Deacon went to see Meggie and taunted her about being in jail. He warned her not to say anything about their past scheme to gaslight Nikki. Meggie reminded him that they'd worked together and she could bring him down.

Victor invited Diane to move in with him at the Newman Ranch, but she suggested that they take things slowly. He pushed; she stood her ground. Just then, Nikki stopped by and coldly asked if she could speak with Victor alone. "Yes, I would mind," Victor barked, answering for Diane, but Diane agreed to give them space. Nikki then informed Victor about Meggie, but he wasn't fazed. Nikki suggested that he use his influence to make sure Meggie is punished; Victor argued that he's done his job and got her sent to jail. He then asked Nikki to leave. "By the way, I asked Diane to move in with me," he finished. Yikes! Cold much? Nikki left as Vic glowered at her.

Kyle stayed with Nick at the tack house and the guys bonded. Nick revealed that he'd spent his childhood in boarding school and that it had made him independent. Kyle wished that he could be more independent so that his mother didn't have to worry about him so much. Diane returned to Nick's, where he was playing hockey with Kyle and Summer. She smiled for a moment as she watched them. The kids went upstairs and she apologized to Nick for sneaking around with Victor. She then told him about Victor's invitation, but added that she planned to turn him down. Nick didn't want to hear it and asked her to leave.

Nina feared that Ronan had been kidnapped. Chris then got a call and learned that Ronan had ordered his own transfer. Nina refused to believe that Ronan had used them, but Phillip was more realistic. After, Kay told Chance about Ronan, but assured him that he did the right thing by saving Ronan's life. Nina refused to give up on Ronan and held out hope that they'd hear from him.

Nikki went to see Meggie and blasted her for destroying her sobriety, hurting Murphy and trying to seduce Victor. "You are as sick as they come," Nikki seethed. Meggie denied trying to hurt anyone and said that there was no proof that she'd been spiking Nikki's drinks. "Shut up, bitch," Nikki interrupted and vowed to see to it that justice was served. Meggie coyly asked how Deacon was doing and Nikki replied that it was none of her business. "Stay out of my life," Nikki finished before storming out. After, she went to Deacon's place and relaxed as he kissed her.... Meggie read an article about Nikki and Deacon going out to Gloworm together.

Nick went to Gloworm to drown his sorrows. Christine ran into him and filled him in on everything that had happened with Ronan and Nina. Nick shared that he was betrayed by someone he'd trusted. Chris asked if he meant Sharon, but he said that he was speaking of someone else — and that the woman in question was a "cold, calculating bitch." Ouch! "Guess I've learned my lesson," he sighed.... Diane agreed to move in with Victor, provided they have separate bedrooms. He was thrilled, but as they embraced, she sadly stared at a photo of Nick.

Ronan recovered in an out-of-town hospital. He did a crossword puzzle and filled in the answer for "One is born every minute." Of course, the answer was "sucker." Uh oh...

Thursday

Billy cradled Lucy while a stressed Victoria did work for the lawsuit. He planned to get a nanny. Victoria couldn't wait until the suit was over. At the Newman Ranch, Kyle told Nick how "awesome" the house is. Nick politely wished that Kyle and Diane would be happy there. He then tried to be cordial to Victor as they discussed the lawsuit. Vic asked his son to come to the hearing with him. Nick agreed to be there. After, Diane said hello to Nick, but he was cold toward her.... Leslie met with Abby and Victoria to go over the suit. Abby began to have doubts about it and said that she wanted out, but Victoria implored her to stay on board. Abby hated fighting with her father, but Victoria didn't think that emotions should enter into it. She pushed Abby to go through with it. After Tucker called Victoria to discuss their deal. Abby asked what it was about and Victoria lied that Tucker wanted to give her a job.

At Crimson Lights, Jack and Phyllis watched the video of Victor in Hawaii. Jack told her to hold off on saying anything until they got proof that Victor was there the night that Skye died.

At Gloworm, Ashley was aghast when she saw Adam and Sharon there and learned that they were getting married again. Tucker advised Ashley to let it go, but Ashley was worried about how it would affect Faith. Gloria apologized to Sharon and Adam for interrupting them and stated that they're always welcome at her club. After, Jack met up with Sharon at the club and revealed that they might have found some evidence against Victor. She wanted more details, but he refused to give them until he knew the whole story. He then noticed her engagement ring and wasn't happy about the news. Jack was even more shocked when Sharon revealed that Victor is back with Diane.

Meanwhile, Ashley had it out with Adam; she urged him to walk away from Faith and Sharon and called him selfish. Adam was polite to Ashley, but replied that he'd never hurt Sharon. Ashley vowed to not let him hurt Faith. Billy arrived and Tucker told him about Sharon and Adam's engagement.... Diane told Victor that she planned to talk to Kyle about their relationship.... Later, Ashley and Billy talked about Victoria and Abby's lawsuit. Billy was all for them going up against Victor, but Ashley wished that the ladies would call it off. Tucker thought that they had guts to go against Victor.

Phyllis went to the tack house and filled in Nick on Victor's trip to Hawaii. She then showed him the video of Victor there. Nick couldn't believe that Victor would let Sharon go to prison for Skye's death.... Jack went to the Newman Ranch and accused Diane for hooking up with Victor to get back at him. Diane denied it, but Jack didn't want Kyle anywhere near Newman. He headed to the carriage house to see his son. Diane told the servant not to bother unpacking Kyle's things. Later, Diane and Kyle had ice cream and she advised her son to not get too used to having servants. She asked if Kyle wanted to stay at the Abbott manse and encouraged him to give it a trial run. Kyle agreed.

Sharon and Adam returned home and she filled him in on her conversation with Jack. She was hopeful that they'd have something against Victor, but Adam was determined to learn what Jack and Phyllis had seen.

Abby admitted to Jack that she suspects that Victoria is keeping something from her.... Phyllis lied to Billy that she didn't find anything in Hawaii.... Nick confronted his father about Hawaii. "You're a damn liar," Nick seethed.

Friday

Malcolm and Phyllis met at Crimson Lights. She asked about Lily and he confided that she was taking Cane's death hard. Phyllis asked if she could go to the burial with him, but he replied that Lily wanted to be by herself for it. Phyllis didn't think this was a good idea and he agreed. They then talked about Sofia and Phyllis reminded him that everyone makes mistakes. A flustered Esther entered with Lucy and Phyllis helped her out by tending to the baby.

Meanwhile, Neil urged her not to go alone and suggested that she get Jill to watch the twins. Jill was out with Colin when Neil called; Colin offered to babysit with her. They soon arrived and Jill gave Lily a note to Cane to put in with the flowers. Lily reminded Jill how Cane had viewed her as a mother.

Nick barged into Victor's office at Newman Enterprises and called his father a liar. He then accused Victor of knowing something about Skye's disappearance and letting Sharon take the rap for Skye's murder. Victor denied it, but Nick didn't buy it and decided to side with Victoria and Abby during the hearing. Victor warned his son that he was playing a dangerous game. Nick told his father about the video, but Victor still wasn't fazed and revealed that he'd paid Sharon's bail. Nick wasn't appeased and demanded that his father tell him the truth about what had really happened.

Victoria met with Tucker at Gloworm to discuss the arbitration and their deal. He assured her that if she wins, he'll make her CEO. After Tucker left, Jack said hello to Victoria and asked what kind of job Tucker was offering. Victoria lied that she's not interested, but Tucker keeps pursuing her. She then turned the tables and asked what he was getting out of helping Abby with the lawsuit. Jack shrugged that he was just trying to help his niece.

Abby and Daniel went to the coffee house and she shared her fears about the suit. She didn't think that her father would ever speak with her again, but Daniel thought things would blow over. He froze when he spied his mom cradling Lucy. She explained that she was babysitting and asked Daniel if it made him think about his and Daisy's kid. Daniel replied that he didn't want to think about it. Phyllis and Abby encouraged him to get answers about his child. Leslie arrived to talk to Abby about the suit. Phyllis called her brave for going up against Victor. Phyll then turned her attention back to her son and went on about how he should find his baby. Mal noted how much time he'd lost with Lily and how it was difficult to form a relationship with your child when he or she is older.

Tucker said hello to Mal at the coffeehouse and lamented that it's hard to do all of his work without Sofia's assistance. Still, they agreed that it's hard to trust someone when you've been lied to. They then bashed Cane and accused the late Aussie of using Sofia. "I got zero respect for a man who puts his own family in jeopardy," Tucker stated. They didn't understand how Jill and Lily could call Cane a "hero."

Lily and Neil went to the church cemetery to bury Cane. Neil promised that her twins would grow up knowing all about their father. She thanked him for joining her for this difficult task. Neil said a prayer for Cane and called his late son-in-law a good man. Lily asked for a moment alone. She spoke aloud and regretted not having left town with him. "You will always be my strong, loving, handsome husband," she told him. "I need you. I need to know that you will always be there, looking out for us." Cane's spirit arrived at that moment, wearing a dark jacket, but when she went toward him, he disappeared.

Colin and Jill enjoyed caring for the twins. She was thrilled that Colin was so willing to embrace her family. "We're married; I want to be a part of your life," he explained. She asked why he was so upset over Cane's death when he hardly knew him; Colin explained that he'd lost a son and a daughter, Samantha. Jill remembered Cane mentioning a Samantha and wondered if Colin had known Cane in Australia. Colin explained that he and Samantha were estranged at the time she'd died and that he hadn't known all of her friends.

Leslie and Abby met up with Jack and Victoria and Leslie warned that Victor has a "secret weapon:" Nick. The ladies didn't think that Nick would turn against them, but Jack wasn't so sure. Meanwhile, Nick told Victor that he blew his chance to redeem himself. "I don't have to redeem myself to anyone," Victor growled. Michael entered and immediately sensed the tension. Victor noted that Nick's sister wanted to destroy the family's company. Later, Phyllis stopped by Nick's and he filled her in on his talk with his father. Victoria called just then and implored him not to testify on Victor's behalf. Nick didn't want to talk about it with her and hung up. Phyllis felt badly for having to show him the video, but was afraid that Victor's actions would affect Summer.... Victoria and Abby didn't understand why their brother would turn on them. Vicky asked Abby why Jack suspected that she had a side deal with Tucker. Abby suggested that Jack has a secret agenda. Leslie, Victor and Michael joined them at the courthouse and it was time for the arbitration to begin.

Jack went to Tucker's office and quizzed him about Victoria. Tucker "admitted" that he had indeed offered her a job. Jack asked point-blank if they were planning to merge Beauty Of Nature and Tucker denied it. Jack warned that if Tucker screws him over, he'll do the same right back.

Phyllis returned to Crimson Lights and suggested to Daniel that they search for the baby themselves or hire a P.I. He urged her to relax, but she was determined to find the child. Daniel wasn't sure that he could be a good father.

At the arbitration, the judge was ready to make a ruling, but Michael asked if they could wait for Victor's "witness." Nick arrived and sat on the same side of the table as his sisters. Victor looked pained, while they were shocked.

Lily broke down in Neil's arms when she realized that she hadn't really seen Cane.
