Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of January 4, 2010

Monday

A hungover Billy awoke confused after New Year's Eve and found a scarf on his couch. He wondered where it was from, then remembered arguing with Victoria. Meanwhile, Victoria searched for the scarf in her car and recalled driving an inebriated Billy home.... At Crimson Lights, Mac confided in J.T how she was concerned about Billy. J.T encouraged her to cut her ties with Billy and let him be someone else's problem. Mac then shared that she regrets how she handled miscarrying J.T.'s baby since she hadn't told him about it until after the fact.... Billy downed some painkillers and flashed back to Victoria helping him buckle his seatbelt in her car. He recalled insisting to her that he can be a nice guy and that people just don't understand him, even though he hadn't been so kind to her. In the flashback, he urged her to name something nice about him and she replied that for a drunk, he's fairly articulate. Later, in the present, Billy placed the scarf over his eyes and now flashed back to Victoria helping him into his trailer and turning on the heat for him. He was jolted out of his reverie when there was a loud knock on the door; it was Victoria, wanting her scarf back. Billy hesitantly thanked her and asked if he'd said anything he'll regret. She half-jokingly replied that if he did, she'd make sure it ended up in print. He then flashed back to her listening to him as he went on about how he hurts people all the time. In the present, Billy apologized for ruining her night, but Victoria insisted that it wasn't all bad. She then recalled helping a drunk Billy undress and laughing at his boxer shorts.

Ashley stopped by the hospital to check in on Lily, who was joined by Neil, Devon and Cane. Ash was surprised to see Malcolm there, as was a pleased Devon. However, Neil barely hid his annoyance over his brother's return. When everyone stepped away, Cane questioned Lily about the tension between the brothers. He didn't want his wife to have to deal with Malcolm and Neil's issues. After, the gang watched football together. Neil glowered as Mal stated that he had many years to make up for and is thrilled to reconnect with everyone. Mal then showed Lily a homemade card she'd made for him when she was about 5 years old. Lily chuckled as she looked at the card, which included a drawing she made of herself and Mal holding hands. A tense Neil stepped out of the room and Ashley followed. In the hallway, Neil insisted that he's not threatened by the idea of Malcolm taking his place as Lily's dad. Still, he was displeased that his brother was trying so hard to be a part of the family. Ashley reminded Neil that he'll always be Lily's father. Neil was grateful for her saying that, but was concerned that Mal's timing was bad with Lily being so sick. Later, Cane took Malcolm aside and said that while he appreciates Mal being there for Lily, he fears that it's making her tense due to his problems with Neil. Mal suggested that Cane talk to Neil instead since Neil's the one with the problem and insisted that he has a right to be there. Neil joined them and, of course, sided with Cane. Malcolm couldn't believe that they were asking him to leave. Mal stopped in to see Lily and asked if him being there is stressing her out. Lily admitted that it's been awkward watching him and Neil try to deal with one another, but insisted that she likes having Mal in town. He wished that he and Neil could make amends.

Emily returned to Jack's place with ingredients to cook a special dish. She explained to Jack that she loves watching football. They then discussed their engagement and decided that they wanted to wed on Valentine's Day. In the mental ward, Patty sang a little song to herself about how she'll soon have Jack back.... Em and Jack snuggled on the couch as they watched the game and went over the wedding plans. He suggested booking the Colonnade Room, explaining that he wants to give her a fairy tale wedding. Emily declared him “the most wonderful man in the world.” Jack later confided about what a difficult year he'd had in dealing with Sharon and then Patty. He was happy to have Emily in his life so he could look forward to the future.... Paul visited Patty, who was happy to see her brother. She looked forward to the new year being great. Paul asked his sister to make him a collage. Patty agreed and also planned to make a card for Emily, noting that Emily's the only doctor she trusts. Uh-oh. Later, Jack got a call from a reporter asking him about his engagement and Jack realized that Billy had leaked the news on Restless Style's Web site. Emily feared that Patty would find out somehow, even though Patty didn't have access to the Internet. Paul then stopped by and showed Patty an in-print article of their engagement. Paul also feared that Patty would find out and reminded Emily that her being with Jack was a bad idea. Em planned to tell Patty that she can no longer be her doctor.... Jack confronted Billy about the article. Billy apologized and revealed that he'd had a New Year's epiphany about how much his family means to him. He asked if he and Jack could get past their differences. Jack replied that it wasn't that simple.... Patty picked up the latest newspaper in the hospital, read about the engagement — and went crazy.

Tuesday

Chance found out from Sid that there were still no leads on Riggs. Chance reminded Sid that he had yet to take Chance's statement and Sid suddenly excused himself. Chance then talked to the EMT who was on duty on the night Riggs escaped from the ambulance but the guy didn't have much info for Chance. He next tried to get Heather's help but she advised him to go to internal affairs if he wasn't satisfied with Sid's investigation. Later, Sid blasted Chance for asking too many questions about the case.

Emily told Jack that she would carefully transition Patty to another doctor to treat her. Em also wanted to postpone their wedding but Jack urged her not to. She then visited Patty, who hid the fact that she now knows about her shrink's engagement to Jack. When Emily suggested that Patty see a new doctor, Patty at first objected but eventually promised to give the change a try.

Phyllis complained to Nick that she feels second to Sharon but he assured that wasn't the case. Still, Phyl encouraged her husband to talk about his feelings for Sharon; he insisted he was only worried how his ex's decisions will affect Noah. Not convinced, Phyllis suggested, "If you want to rescue somebody, rescue me." Nick vowed to focus on their marriage.

Adam carried Sharon over the threshold of her house. Noah came downstairs and was relieved to see that they were okay. After Adam left, Sharon revealed to her son that she and Adam eloped. Noah thought his mom was joking but realized she was serious. Sharon explained that Adam was moving in with them and Noah wasn't happy, but agreed to be patient. "I'm not gonna file for emancipation or do anything drastic," Noah promised. "You have plenty of drastic in you for all of us."

Adam informed Ashley about his sudden marriage. Ash was happy for him, then suggested that he and Sharon move into the ranch. Adam agreed to talk it over with his wife. After Adam left, Jack showed up and shared his engagement news. Ashley was thrilled but Jack was shocked when she revealed that Adam and Sharon were married. "I gotta put a stop to this," Jack declared and stormed out.

Jack asked Chloe to be his wedding planner and she accepted.... Noah lamented to Nick that Sharon was headed for "disaster." ... Patty once again didn't take her meds.... Riggs texted Chance to meet but Chloe didn't want her boyfriend to go.... Emily asked Ashley to be her matron of honor and Ash agreed.... Adam told Heather that he married Sharon.... Jack showed up on Sharon's doorstep and blurted, "Please tell me it isn't true."

Wednesday

Aboard the Chancellor jet, Kay and Jill speculated about their first meeting with the daughter Kay had gave up for adoption years ago. They wondered how her life had turned out. After landing, the women were confused when the address they were given turned out to be a bail bonds shop in a sketchy neighborhood. Just as they had decided to leave, a leather jacket-wearing tough chick wielding a gun arrived. "There's an Italian joint two blocks down, Granny. I hear they have a slammin' early bird special!" the woman growled at Katherine before slamming the door. Kay and Jill wondered if they should stick around and meet this woman, as she could possibly be the long-lost daughter, Joanne. "Let's give her the benefit of the doubt!" Kay pleaded.

Paul arrived at the coffeehouse with news about Katherine's adopted daughter. He was troubled to learn from Murphy that he was too late. "She could be trouble, Murphy. Big trouble," Paul warned. He showed Murphy and Nina Joanne's rap sheet, which included time in juvenile hall and federal prison. "Katherine needs to know about this - she has no idea what she's walking into!" Murphy worried, as he dialed Katherine's cell phone. Katherine didn't pick up, as she and Jill had just walked into the bail bond shop. They posed as clients and asked for Joanne Glover. The woman was startled to hear her proper name. Katherine asked if her birthday was September 30th. "You walk in here all snooty, with my name and birthday ... who do you think you are?" she snarled. "Your mother," Kay shot back. "What are you after?" Joanne snapped suspiciously. Katherine began to give information about her adoption that only a mother could know. Joanne bristled at the idea of getting to know her. Jill's jaw dropped when Kay offered to take Joanne on the plane back to Genoa City and to stay at the Chancellor Estate. She rolled her eyes when Joanne tried on Katherine's ring. "When do we leave?" Joanne asked, ogling the ring. Onboard the plane, Joanne began gulping liquor from the bar. "This is the life! I didn't even have to check my gun!" she giggled. Looking around and eyeing the interior of the private plane, the fact that she was a Chancellor washed over Joanne. "MA!" she shrieked as she jumped into Katherine's lap. Jill looked ill.

At the coffeehouse, Heather was taken aback when Adam announced he had married Sharon. "Maybe you two deserve each other," she spat. "The clepto and the liar - a perfect match!" Meanwhile, at Sharon's front door, Jack lambasted her for eloping with Adam. Sharon attempted to shut the door on him, but Jack had a change of heart and asked to hear all about her new marriage. Inside, Sharon recounted her wedding in Nevada. "Sounds romantic," Jack mustered. Sharon glowed as she described her happiness. Jack was silent. "Get used to it, Jack," Sharon instructed. Jack couldn't bite his tongue and began tearing Adam apart. Sharon slapped him. "Why can't you be happy for me? I thought you were my friend" she wailed. "Friends tell the truth!" Jack raged. Adam arrived just then, and Jack warned him that he would be watching his every move. Alone with Sharon, Adam began massaging her shoulders. They discussed how difficult the day had been, with everyone's negative reactions to their marriage. Sharon described how terrible she felt after Jack's visit. Adam assured her that everyone would come around in time. "Yeah," Sharon agreed. "You and I are doing it right - it's the rest of the world that's doing it wrong!"

Jack showed up at Crimson Lights for a cup of coffee and was confronted by Paul about his involvement with Emily. Jack insisted that he was doing nothing wrong.

At the Chancellor Estate, Chloe was worried about Chance's plan to meet with Riggs. He promised her that he wouldn't put himself in jeopardy. Chloe took off after Mac agreed to watch Delia. Billy arrived and saw Mac with the baby. Billy scooped up Delia, and Mac was impressed with his new attitude and interest in her. The two former lovers discussed Billy's new focus in life. They were interrupted by Delia crying. Mac noticed that she felt feverish. Together, Mac and Billy took care of her. Mac looked on happily as Billy cuddled his daughter. They all sat on the couch and Billy read a story. Delia soon fell asleep, and Mac and Billy had a chance to talk. Billy apologized for being a "royal ass," and promised to do better. He shared with Mac that he had been too wrapped up in himself to realize what a selfless gift her surrogacy was. He pledged to support her, and shared with her that he was on a quest to become a better person and father. "Billy 2010! I like him!" Mac smiled.

Chance arrived at the empty lot with a flashlight looking for Riggs. He was stunned to find him with a bloody and battered face. "Who did this to you, Riggs?" Chance demanded. Riggs claimed he didn't know. Bright headlights blinded the duo, and as Chance pulled out his radio to call for back-up, he was clubbed over the head from behind. Chloe had followed Chance to the empty lot, and was upset to find Chance lying hurt in the snow. Riggs was nowhere to be found. Chance radioed for help as Chloe helped him to his feet. EMTs arrived on the scene and began treating Chance. Syd and Heather appeared and began questioning him. Syd chastised Chance for not using backup and for not apprehending Riggs. Chance wondered if anyone had recovered his jacket, which he had lost during the scuffle. Heather produced his coat, which was in an evidence bag. She informed him that many illegal drugs were found in the pocket. Chance denied that the drugs were his, and claimed someone had planted them. Heather proposed that the whole scenario was perhaps a drug deal gone bad. Syd informed a distraught Chance that he would need to investigate.

Thursday

At the station, Nina and Chloe stood up for Chance when he was taken in for questioning about what had happened with Riggs and the drugs that were found. Chloe told Nina that she's not leaving until Chance is able to go home. Nina feared that it would take a while. Later, Chance was told that he's going to be suspended with pay. Chance handed over his badge and gun, believing that someone planted the drugs on him and were targeting him.

Billy paid Lily a visit at home and was glad to see her out of the hospital. They discussed Colleen and how much they miss her. Lily noted that Coll would probably want them to move on with their lives. Billy sincerely told Lily that he's happy for her becoming a mom, even if it means Mac is carrying the child. Just then, Malcolm stopped by.

At home, Sharon and Adam snuggled in their bathrobes and wondered what everyone else was going to say about their marriage, given Nick's volatile reaction. They were relieved that Noah took it so well. Adam called Sharon one of the strongest people he knows.... At Newman Enterprises, Nick filled in Victoria on Sharon and Adam's marriage. He asked if Victoria was sure she wanted to go to Dubai, but she thought that she and her husband needed the break. Nick agreed that some time apart had been good for him and Phyllis. Adam arrived and Victoria grabbed her things to leave the room. Adam grinned and said that he'd made sure to stop by in time to say good-bye.

Katherine admitted to Murphy and Esther that Jo-Jo is more than she bargained for, but was determined to get to know her.... Tucker, J.T. And Neil met at the G.C.A.C. to discuss Chancellor Industries. Tucker implored Neil to convince Katherine to make a business acquisition..... Cane and Jill talked about Jo-Jo and Jill wished she could send her back home, calling Jo-Jo their "worst nightmare." Cane assured Jill that she gave Kay a beautiful gift in reuniting her with the woman.... At the Chancellor Estate, Jo-Jo enjoyed life on the mansion. Murphy warned Jo-Jo that he's keeping an eye on her. Jill stopped by the estate, where a not-so-happy Kay greeted her. "Some present you brought me," she huffed. Still, she was determined to make the best of it and asked Jo-Jo if she had any questions. "You mean, why you abandoned me?" Jo-Jo cracked. She did want to know why there were so many pictures of Jill in the manse; Jill and Kay explained that she owned half the house and that at one point, they believed Jill was Kay's daughter. Tucker then came by and Jo-Jo became star struck at having someone so well-known at the manse. Kay went to look for her notepad so she and Tucker could discuss business, but Jo-Jo admitted that she'd accidentally knocked a drink onto it. Jo-Jo then almost knocked down a vase, but Esther managed to catch it. Tucker suggested that Jill and Neil go over the proposals with him instead.

Neil ran into Sharon at the coffeehouse and told her about Malcolm's return. Sharon confirmed that Dru had told her about Mal being Lily's biological dad. Neil said that his main focus is Lily and that Malcolm can't expect to pretend that nothing has happened the past few years. "If my brother wants to salvage what's left of our relationship, it better be sooner than later," Neil sighed.... Billy chatted with Malcolm about some of the photos Mal had taken. He asked if Malcolm would consider doing some work for Restless Style. Cane then stopped by and had a civil conversation with Billy as he told him about Jo-Jo. Billy started to make a crack about Cane turning out to be a nightmare "son" for Jill, but then stopped himself and thanked Cane for the heads up about Kay's visitor.

J.T called Victoria and they made plans to meet up. Before she left, Adam asked if Nick had told her about his marriage. "Yes, he did," she snapped. "Enjoy it while it lasts.".... Sharon informed Neil that she married Adam. A surprised Neil held his tongue and acknowledged how tough it must be to deal with Adam and Nick's animosity. Sharon stated that she's not going to apologize for marrying someone who makes her happy, but admitted that she is concerned that the transition will affect Noah. Later, Sharon stopped by Newman, where Nick was busy glowering at his brother. Still, when Nick was asked for a comment from the press, he wished the couple his congratulations.

Billy ran into Victoria at the coffeehouse and teased her about not wearing the scarf she'd left in his trailer. She explained that she's going to Dubai. He thanked her for getting him home safely the other night. J.T and Reed joined her so they could say good-bye. J.T shared that Reed is going to use a Web cam so he could blow her a kiss each day. Aww. Victoria was touched and they shared a tearful good-bye.

Neil went to Lily's, where Malcolm said that he's decided to stay in town — indefinitely. Neil and Cane weren't pleased, but Lily wanted Mal there. Cane still thought that Malcolm should leave, but Lily insisted that they all make peace and get past their issues. Neil wasn't happy with Malcolm suddenly wanting to be a part of Lily's life. Mal replied that he's also staying because of Neil.

Billy came by the estate and Jo-Jo was taken with the attractive young man. Billy wasn't impressed. Murphy asked how long Jo-Jo intended to stay. She wasn't planning to leave anytime soon. Kay demanded that they take a DNA test.

Friday

At the G.C.A.C., Michael implored Lauren to eat since she's been working so hard and skipping meals. He then shared that Heather was still tracking down the crime lab about the gym bag and its contents. Lauren noted that Daniel must be anxious waiting for the results. The Baldwins looked forward to spending time together. After, they went to her office and cuddled in her chair.

Daisy said hello to Noah and Eden at Crimson Lights. Noah invited her to join them for a movie that the French club club was showing, but Eden didn't want anything to do with Daisy. Eden told Daisy that she doesn't believe she's an orphan.

Amber and Daniel visited Deacon in prison. Amber asked where Little D is. Deacon evaded her questions. She pointed out that since Deacon's going to prison, Little D is going to be all alone. Deacon was confident that he could get out of jail and told Amber to move on with her life. He then said that he's trying to protect his son and that if Amber looks for him, she could put Little D in danger. She begged for Deacon to give her some information. Deacon relented and revealed that the boy is with Amber's mother, Tawny.

Adam was surprised to see Nick's supportive comment about Adam and Sharon's marriage in the press. Sharon said that Nick is trying. She and Adam debated what to eat for dinner and realized that they still have a lot to learn about each other. Ashley stopped by with a wedding gift, which was a framed picture from their wedding day. They were touched.... At Newman Enterprises, Phyllis and Nick discussed Adam. Phyllis admitted that she's still worried about Nick's feelings for Sharon.... Ashley wanted to throw a party for the newlyweds, but they didn't think anyone would attend. They were grateful to Ashley for being the one person who's supported them and agreed to join her for a dinner celebration instead. Noah and Eden came home and Eden congratulated the pair. The other three left, leaving the teens home alone.

Chance continued to insist to Chloe that someone set him up. She tried her best to be supportive.... Emily and Jack kissed on his couch, but he said that they need to answer the questionnaire for the wedding planner, who was Chloe. Jack assured Emily that if she doesn't like the planner, they can work with someone else because he wants this to be Emily's dream wedding. However, she became uncomfortable when she spied the newspaper article about their engagement. She planned to call the hospital so she could have them cut off Patty's media access. After, Jack and Emily met with Chloe at the G.C.A.C.

Ashley, Sharon and Adam went to the club, where they ran into Jack, Emily and Chloe. While Ashley chatted with Jack at his table, Adam told Sharon that Ashley had invited them to move into the ranch. They agreed it was a kind offer, but wanted to have their own place. Nick and Phyllis were the next to arrive at the club. Phyllis was pleased when Nick promised to make an effort to show his wife a great night out, despite Adam and Sharon.

Daisy interrupted Lauren and Michael and gave Lauren an update on the latest sales — and then realized that they wanted to be alone.... Noah and Eden began to make out, but were interrupted by a call from Michael. He told Eden to have fun, "but not too much fun." Of course, the teens went upstairs as soon as she got off the phone.... Michael got a call from Heather summoning him to the police station. Daisy listened at the door as Michael and Lauren said good-bye to one another. After, Lauren found another wrapped gift waiting for her and flashed back to when she received the rat. She gingerly opened it, but it was just a package from a clothing company.... Michael informed Daniel that he won't be indicted, but is still considered a "person of interest." Amber wondered if they'd figured out who the third man in the alley was. Michael reported that the "third man" was a woman.

Chloe continued to ask Jack and Em about their wedding, noting that many things would be booked on Valentine's Day.... Sharon, Adam and Ashley prepared to toast with champagne. Ashley revealed that Jack and Emily were now engaged. Chloe, Jack and Emily were about to make their own toast, when Sharon stormed over to Jack's table to angrily "congratulate" him. She called him a hypocrite for saying that she got married too quickly, while he was also entering a hasty union. Jack insisted that there's no comparison with their situations because Sharon married a "snake." Phyllis watched the argument, but Nick insisted that he didn't care what's going on and suggested they go someplace else.... Jack told Chloe that their meeting was over. Emily stated that her and Jack's relationship is none of Sharon's business. Sharon retorted that Em needs to explain the same thing to Jack.... Phyllis and Nick decided to spend their quiet evening at home instead.... Now that she was done with Jack and Emily, Chloe asked Chance if he wanted to go to dinner, but he was too depressed to join her. She suggested they go home instead, and he agreed.... Ashley apologized to Sharon for the evening being a bust. Emily then came over and tried to be cordial to Sharon, but Sharon told her to mind her own business.... Jack confronted Adam in the hallway. Adam warned Jack that he's underestimated him. Jack believed that Adam wed Sharon to get under his skin. Adam replied that he married Sharon because he loves her and that Jack will know it if he plans to get under his skin. "Bring it on," Jack stated.

Eden and Noah made out in his bed. Meantime, a mystery person sneaked into the house and set the downstairs curtains on fire.
