Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of July 13, 2009

Monday

Phillip approached Cane, who was working at Jimmy's bar. Cane remembered
Phillip's drink of choice and fixed it for him. Phil noted that this is why
Cane made such a convincing Chancellor — because he remembered every last
detail of Phillip's life. Cane regretted hurting Lily, Jill and Katherine
and the rest of the family. "It's dawning on me the life you gave me, the
life I had, never existed," Cane sighed. "That's exactly how I felt when I
decided to leave this place forever," Phillip replied.

Meanwhile, Kay was ready to finally leave the hospital. As Billy helped her
pack up her things, Kay apologized to him for not believing his instincts
about Cane. Jill was hurt that Phillip felt the need to leave his home and
called herself a lousy mother. Jill was ready to welcome Phillip back into
the family, but Billy couldn't believe that she'd be so forgiving after all
that Phillip did to them. Kay agreed with Billy; Nina shared that Phillip
had confided in her about something important, but wouldn't say what it was.

Mackenzie stopped by the bar and informed Cane and Phillip that Kay was
being released. Cane was surprised that Mac had shown up for work; he urged
Phillip to go and be with Kay. Phil revealed that he told Nina that he's
gay; he wasn't sure how the rest of the family would take it. He returned to
the Chancellor Estate and heard everyone arguing about him as they got out
of the car.... Mac gave Cane the cold shoulder at work. He cornered her and
she admitted that she doesn't enjoy working for him. He offered to sell her
the bar. She noted that him running out on the Chancellors made him more
like family than she'd thought. Cane argued that he's giving the family the
space they need. Mac noted that she, Billy and Phillip all ran and wondered
what Cane was planning to do next. He insisted that he's not returning to
Australia but wasn't sure where he should go. Cane continued to press her
to buy the place. Mac asked why he came to Genoa City; he explained that he
liked the idea of having the family that he'd never had before. "It was a
nice dream, huh?" he sighed. Mac agreed to purchase Jimmy's and encouraged
Cane to stay in town. He didn't think his being here would be a good idea.

Nina found Phillip in the estate living room. Nina warned him that they knew
there was more to his story and urged him to tell Kay and Jill the truth.
Phillip feared that if he came out to them, Kay would have another stroke.
Nina argued that him keeping quiet was only going to stress Kay out more.
Billy, Kay and Jill then entered the house. Nina asked Billy to give Phillip
some time alone with them. However, Phil was very hesitant about sharing his
secret. Kay became angry. Phillip finally blurted out that he's gay. Jill
didn't understand why he kept this from them; Kay was confused about him
having slept with Nina. Phillip explained that he was trying to be someone
he wasn't and had to hide it to be a Chancellor. Kay insisted that she
would've been fine with it; Phil argued that back then she wouldn't have
been, and that if he'd stayed there, it wouldn't have worked. Nina asked
about his feelings for Christine back then; he explained that he'd loved
her, but not in a sexual way. He insisted that he'd never cheated with a man
and knew that if he stayed in Genoa City, he wouldn't have a life. Kay and
Jill still thought that him "sending" them Cane was cruel. Jill angrily
concluded that Phillip was punishing them. Phillip replied that he didn't
fit in with the family and was no good to them. "You didn't even give us a
chance!" Jill yelled. Kay noted that he could've helped them learn to accept
who he was and that he took the coward's way out. Jill reminded him that he made Kay
think her dreams about switching the babies were real. Phil kept insisting
that through Cane he was able to make them happy. Kay disagreed. Jill
believed that they would've understood had he told them. Kay asked Nina what
she thought about Phillip's revelation; she replied that right now, she just
thinks the family has to figure out a way to deal with it.

Billy stopped by Jimmy's and found Cane and Mac embracing after he sold her
the bar. He demanded that Cane back away and not touch her. "Leave us all
the hell alone!" he yelled. Cane assured Billy that Billy and his family
would get everything back; Mac informed him that she's buying the bar.
"Because of you, nothing can ever be the same," Billy shot back. Cane
understood why Billy needed to protect his family and left.

Mary Jane/Patty hid out in the potting shed at the Newman Ranch and lamented
to her kitty that she's alone in the world. She recalled how Victor had
promised her that she'd get Jack back and was determined to make Newman keep
his promise. She began to wonder if she really should've listened to Adam,
and if she could trust him.... Victor wondered where MJ had disappeared to
and assured Ashley that someone would find her. He wanted to concentrate on
a "pregnant" Ashley and her baby; Ash was anxious to see their baby on the
sonogram and reminded Victor that she's not a fragile doll that's about to
break.... A panicked Adam called Dr. Taylor and implored the doc to do
something about the sonogram. Taylor explained that he rigged the machine to
show the appropriate image. He also warned Adam that he could reveal that
Ashley really had a miscarriage and that Adam has been tricking her. After,
Dr. Taylor stopped by the ranch and began to set up the sonogram with Adam
watching. Victor asked Adam to leave. Of course, Adam hid out on the stairs
and eavesdropped. Dr. Taylor began the procedure and Ashley wondered why
there was no image on the screen. Taylor stammered that he's not used to
using a portable device for the sonogram; he then managed to get the image
of the healthy baby up on screen. Victor and Ashley were thrilled. Adam
sighed in relief. The doc offered to print up pictures for them, which they
readily agreed to. Later, Ashley accused Victor of patronizing her when he
tried to take care of her. She reminded him that at first, he didn't believe
someone was gaslighting her. Victor insisted that he only wants what's best
for her; she noted that it hurts her when he makes cracks about her being
hormonal.... Adam went out to the shed and gave Mary Jane some food and
toiletries. She didn't think it was a good idea for her to stay there, but
Adam assured her that no one would find her. He then noticed Kitty ("He
sleeps a lot," she promised. HA!) and offered to bring the cat some food....
Ashley asked Victor if she could sleep by herself so she could have some
alone time. He agreed but didn't fully understand what she was going
through.

Tuesday

Adam visited an irate Mary Jane in the potting shed. She wondered how her
hiding out there was supposed to get her closer to Jack. Adam explained that
Ashley lived in the Newman Ranch and is currently in a "fragile" state — and that if something were to happen to her, Jack would come running to be with
his sister.... Heather waited for Adam in his room and wondered where he is.
Rafe came by, to Heather's surprise. Rafe explained that he just stopped by
to say hello. His interest was piqued when Heather confessed that Adam has
seemed less interested in committing his future to her. Adam came upstairs
and was uncomfortable when he found both in his room. Rafe was about to
leave so he could meet with Noah, but Adam informed him that Noah went to
the hospital to see Summer. Adam asked if he could speak with Rafe alone for
a minute. Rafe assured Adam that he wouldn't out their relationship, but
urged Adam to be honest with Heather. Adam admitted that he doesn't know
what to do and asked Rafe to be patient with him. An understanding Rafe
agreed.... MJ ate the sandwich which Adam had given to her, but she was almost
caught by Ashley when Ash followed Zapato into the potting shed.... Later,
Heather sat with Adam and told him how Mary Jane was the one who told her
that Phyllis hurt Summer. A nervous Adam asked if she'd be able to track MJ
down, but Heather said that so far, they haven't been able to find her.
Ashley then stuck her head into his room and told him that she's been
feeling better. After Heather left, Adam vowed to make sure Ash's happiness
didn't last for long.

Jack and Sharon dined at the G.C.A.C. and he admired a sonogram of "their"
baby.... At the hospital, Nick and Phyllis stood by Summer as she got an MRI.
Alone, Phyllis feared that nothing she was saying was registering with
Summer. Nick assured her that Summer would improve as time went on. Phyllis
thanked Victor for flying in the doctor. Nick was confident that the MRI
would prove that their daughter is fine. He promised to be there for Phyllis
and Summer day and night, but Phyllis thought it might be confusing if he
moves in and then moves out again. Nick insisted that he needs to be with
his family, and that Sharon would understand. Phyllis didn't believe he'd
stick around, but Nick promised he would.... Colleen arrived at the hospital
with flowers for Summer. Victor asked her to leave and accused her of
snooping around for Jack.

At the club, Gloria praised the young bartender, Aidan's, martini-making
skills and flirted with him. Jeffrey joined her and asked if she was
fantasizing about being Aidan's sugar mama. She replied that she doesn't
have the money to do it. Jeff still believed that something was going on
between Victor and MJ, and that he could get money from Newman. Later,
Victor met up with the Bardwells at Crimson Lights and hired them to
discredit Colleen so she could be kicked off the Newman board. Later,
Colleen met up with Rafe at the coffeehouse and confided in her pal that
she's been feeling lonely. Glo and Jeff eavesdropped and worked on their
plan. Jeffrey was surprised that Gloria would want to do something to John's
granddaughter, but Gloria believed they were doing Coll a favor by getting
her away from Victor. After, they went to the club and hired Aidan to get
Colleen to do something "unladylike" on camera and get it into a tabloid.
Glo offered to give him a certain form of payment (which wasn't money) if he
agreed to the job. He did. After, he approached Colleen at Jimmy's bar.

Sharon and Jack stopped by the hospital to see how Summer was doing. Phyllis
gave Nick some time to be alone with Sharon and she immediately realized
what this was about. "You can't abandon your family. You would never forgive
yourself," Sharon said, adding that she's proud of him. They embraced. "I'll
always love you," she said, her eyes filling with tears.... Phyllis informed
Jack that Mary Jane was the one who told Heather that Phyllis hurt Summer.
Jack was shocked and revealed that the last time he saw Mary Jane, she was
in a "weird way." Phyllis realized that MJ was the one who made Summer sick
and couldn't understand why Mary Jane did this to them. Later, Sharon tried
to comfort Phyllis, who had a bad feeling about Summer's test. Sharon was
confident that Phyllis had the strength to be there for Summer. The rivals
clasped hands and Phyllis gave Sharon a grateful smile. Meanwhile, Jack
tried to be there for Nick. He made Nick laugh when he half-jokingly
suggested that Nick take out his frustrations on Victor. The doctor then
arrived with the MRI results and told the family that Summer has some brain
damage and might have problems with language and memory. Still, the doc
remained hopeful that Summer's condition would improve. Phyllis tried to
keep calm when Summer was wheeled in, but became upset when then little girl
couldn't say "Dada."

At the ranch, Ashley confided in Victor that she's still very uncertain
about what the future holds for her. As Adam eavesdropped, Victor asked her
to marry him — that night. Ashley agreed and they kissed. Later, Adam
returned to the shed and told MJ about Victor and Ashley's wedding. He
presented her with Sabrina's purple gala dress and told MJ that she's going
to be at the wedding — but not as herself.

Wednesday

Lily and Devon met up with Neil and Tyra for dinner at the G.C.A.C.
Meanwhile, Cane sadly looked around Jimmy's bar, which he'd just sold to
Mackenzie. Mac asked if he regretted the sale; he replied that he regretted
many things. Mac asked if he'd even tried talking to Lily. He replied that
he's called her so often, he's beginning to feel like a stalker.... Colleen
then arrived and chatted with Cane, completely unaware of everything that
had happened between him and Lily. She was also surprised when Mac told her
that she now owns the bar. Colleen asked for two drinks — one for her and
one for her new friend, Aidan.

At the club, Gloria and Jeffrey toasted to hiring Aidan to make Colleen take
a fall. Glo called Victor to tell him that their plan was going well and
learned from Abby that Victor and Ashley were about to wed. Jack then ran
into the pair and was shocked when Gloria informed him that Victor and
Ashley are getting married.

At the Newman Ranch, Abby was thrilled about the wedding. Ash and Victor
asked Abby and Adam to stand up for them. Victoria stopped by and was
surprised to hear about the wedding. She was hurt that he hadn't told her
and Nick about it. Victor explained that he didn't want to make a big deal
about it since Nick was dealing with Summer. He took Vicky aside and
implored her not to put any stress on Ashley, and promised to explain
everything later. Victoria apologized to Ashley and asked if she could stay
for the ceremony. Ash happily welcomed her and Victoria hugged her dad....
Adam went up to his room and stewed about how the only reason Victor asked
him to be his best man was because his "real son," Nick, wasn't available.
He called Victor a hypocrite and looked forward to delivering his "wedding
present." ... In the potting shed, Mary Jane eyed the purple dress Adam gave
her and told her kitty that she was sure she'd look better in it than
Sabrina had. Adam later joined her and realized with disgust that Kitty
wasn't alive. "You're keeping a woman in your daddy's potting shed. Which is
more twisted?" MJ shot back. HA! Adam instructed her to put on the dress and
then he'd text her when it was time to come to the main house; all MJ would
have to do, he explained, was run by the window sobbing. MJ reminded Adam
that he'd promised her she'd get to be with Jack. Adam replied that if she
did her job well, she'd get to be with Jack soon.

J.T. was on security patrol at Jimmy's. He was surprised when he was greeted
by a very drunk Colleen. Aidan invited J.T. to join them, but he turned them
down. Colleen insisted that she could handle herself and didn't need J.T. to
look out for her.... Gloria listed off two extremely expensive items that
she intended to buy when they got Victor's money. Jeff implored her to wait
until they got paid first. She didn't believe that they were destroying
Colleen and were simply getting the young woman out of Victor's orbit.... At
the bar, Colleen removed her sweater as Aidan offered her another drink. She
then went over to the jukebox to pick out a tune while a disguised Jeffrey
arrived at the bar and filmed her. Once the music was on, Colleen began
dancing around the establishment.... J.T. chatted with Mac about Cole and
was surprised that she was so sympathetic toward him. Mac declared that Cole
isn't a monster. Mac asked J.T. to update the security system and revealed
that she's now the owner. He was impressed. She was also impressed by how
much J.T. has matured since they were in high school.... Colleen continued
to dance suggestively with Aidan. She then stood up on top of a table and
flashed everyone. J.T. dragged her out of the bar. Jeff called Gloria and
gleefully informed her that their scheme went even better than they'd
intended.... Cane was surprised to learn that Mac and J.T. share a past and
wished he and Lily could be friends the way Mac was with her exes. He
believed that the best thing he could do for Lily is disappear.... J.T. took
Colleen to Crimson Lights to sober her up. She was horrified as she began to
recall the events of the evening. He promised not to tell anyone about her
actions and warned her that Victor is trying to get her kicked off the
Newman board.... Jeff returned to the club and showed Gloria his video of
Colleen. He posted it online.

Cane called Devon, but Devon refused to put Lily on the phone. Cane asked to
tell her that he loves her and is leaving. Devon was glad that Cane was
leaving town. At the club, Lily suggested that she and Devon give Neil and
Tyra some alone time, but Neil suspected that something was going on. Lily
admitted that she's going stir crazy and needed to get some fresh air. Tyra
was thrilled to have time with Neil, but Neil kept thinking about Lily and
Cane. Tyra was annoyed with him for being so obsessed with his adult
daughter's life.... Lily and Devon went to Devon's place, where she confided
that she might be pregnant with Cane's baby. Devon shared that Cane's been
calling her non-stop and was planning to leave town. Lily didn't like the
idea of having a baby who grows up without a father. Devon promised to
support her whether she wanted Cane in the picture or not. Lily called Cane
and asked if they could talk.

Jack stopped by the ranch and demanded to see Ashley. "You are not gonna
ruin this," Victor growled at him. However, Ashley invited her brother in.
Jack implored her not to marry Victor and wondered why she didn't tell him
about it. Ashley explained that it was last minute and she didn't want his
feud with Victor ruining her day. She stated that Victor is her family and
revealed that her baby is going to be a girl. Jack softened as he realized
that both she and Sharon were having girls. He even offered to give her
away.... Adam retreated to his room, where he was met by Victoria. He became
snippy with her when he asked why Heather wasn't going to the wedding with
him, explaining that he didn't want to upset Victor so he didn't invite her.
Later, Ashley came downstairs in her wedding gown, looking gorgeous in the
off-the-shoulder number. Victoria wondered where J.T. was. She was happy
when he finally arrived.... Adam and Jack exchanged words, but were
interrupted when the doorbell rang. Jack answered it, and it was a flower
delivery for Victor — from the Bardwells. Jack told the delivery man to send
them back.... Mary Jane donned the purple gown and prepared to make her
appearance.... Ashley and Victor exchanged simple vows and were pronounced
husband and wife. Ashley then turned around and spied MJ in the window.
"Sabrina!" yelled Ashley — and then collapsed.

Thursday

At the G.C.A.C., Jack filled in Sharon on Ashley and Victor's sudden wedding
and how his sister thought she saw Sabrina standing in the window. They were
interrupted when Detective Wallace asked Sharon how Victor's wallet got into
her hotel room.

Nick stopped by the Newman Ranch to congratulate Victor, but wasn't pleased
that he hadn't been invited to the ceremony. Victor explained that he wanted
to wed Ashley since she's been through so much. Nick was concerned about
Ashley "seeing" Sabrina; Victor feared that the vision was in her head.
After, he and Nick discussed business while Dr. Taylor examined Ashley.
Taylor came downstairs and suggested that Victor have his wife see a
psychiatrist, and that she avoid anything that could give her anymore
stress. Nick sympathized with how difficult this was for Victor. Vic didn't
understand why she was so stubborn about seeing someone; Nick pointed out
that she'd had a history of breakdowns, which made it a touchy issue for her.
Victor then got a call from Wallace about his wallet being in Sharon's room.

Sharon denied stealing Victor's wallet and Jack defended her. Victor arrived
and told Wallace that he's not pressing charges. Sharon thanked both Jack
and Victor for supporting her. She insisted that she wasn't stealing again
and wasn't responsible for this. Victor believed her. Sharon congratulated
him on the wedding. Jack couldn't understand why Sharon and Ashley cared for
Victor so much.

Adam visited Mary Jane — who was still wearing the purple dress — in the potting shed and scolded her for appearing at the wedding earlier than they'd planned. MJ explained that she had to be there because Jack "needed" her. She denied being obsessed with Jack. "I'm in love with him," she
stated. "Is that what you call it?" Adam sneered. MJ threatened to tell Jack
the truth about what she's been up to. She then noticed that there was blood
on the dress and asked for new clothes. Adam promised to get them for her.
She stuck Kitty into a cat carrier — HA! — and told her cat that Adam isn't a friend anymore.... Dr. Taylor visited Adam in his room and told Adam that he can't be a part of the ruse anymore. He implored Adam to tell Ashley that she miscarried her baby. Adam reminded Taylor that he knows about Taylor harassing a student. Later, Nick caught Adam carrying a few of Ashley's outfits and wondered what he was doing. Adam lied that he was taking the clothes to be dry cleaned. He then brought them to MJ and offered to bring
Jack to her. She laughed that that wasn't romantic. Adam pointed out that MJ
needs to stay in the shed or else Victor will send her away; he then told
her that he can ask Jack to come over to see Ashley and MJ can intercept
him. MJ agreed, but after Adam left, she planned to get changed and go out.

Nick met up with Sharon and Jack at the club to see if Sharon was okay. Jack
promptly left. Sharon again denied stealing the wallet and was upset when
Nick indicated that he thought she did it. Nick argued that he was
concerned; she asked him to stop "rescuing" her and to concentrate on
Phyllis and Summer. He agreed and left. Jack returned, but Sharon retreated
to her room.

At the Chancellor Estate, Jill was concerned that neither she, Katherine or
Nina had heard from Phillip. Kay wasn't eager to go after him. Jill believed
that they chased him away, but Kay called him a coward. Nina pleaded with
them to stop bickering. Phillip them came by, interrupting them. He informed
them that he took the test to see if he's a carrier for Huntington's
Disease. Kay wasn't exactly grateful toward him for doing this. She and Jill
continued to argue. Phil noted that nothing has changed between the two of
them. Nina told Phillip that she was devastated when he "died." He
apologized, but explained that he couldn't find another way out. He
acknowledged that he was selfish by leaving, but admitted that if he had to
do it all over again, he'd make the same choice. "What other option did I
have back then?" he shrugged. Nina was aghast that he'd abandon his son
again. Kay and Jill were furious. "You don't know who I am," he said. "You
never gave us a chance!" Kay argued. "How could we know the real you? You
never showed him to us," Nina added. Jill defended Phillip, noting the high
expectations that are placed on the Chancellors.

At Devon's, he urged Lily to wait before telling Cane she might be pregnant,
but Lily thought Cane deserved to know the truth. Cane then came by and
Devon let him in while Lily freshened up; he left so he could give Cane and
Lily privacy, but not before warning Cane that if he had his way, he'd hit
him in the face. Cane understood. Devon implored Cane not to be a "selfish
bastard" with his sister. Lily emerged from the bathroom and told Cane she
no longer knows who he is. She asked if he really wanted a family with her;
he replied that he did, but thought it would be selfish for them to do it
now. He was glad that she wasn't pregnant because it wouldn't be fair to the
baby. Uh-oh. "You're free to be with someone else; someone you can trust,"
he said quietly. Lily was devastated. "I guess I was wrong about you," she
said. Cane explained that he's leaving Genoa City and put his house on the
market. "There's nothing left now for me," he told her. "I'm so sorry I
couldn't be the man you deserve." After he left, Lily broke down. Cane went
over to the estate to say good-bye to Jill and Kay. He thanked them for
welcoming them into their family and apologized for hurting them. He
encouraged them to put their differences with Phillip aside and welcome him
back into the family. He was about to leave, but Phil didn't understand how
they could let Cane go. Kay called Cane a stranger who prayed on their
feelings. Phillip took responsibility for the con and noted that Jill had a
better relationship with Cane than she had with him. "Don't let him walk out
of your lives," Phil stated.

Mary Jane put on one of Ashley's dresses and went to Crimson Lights....
Victor returned home and thanked Adam for being a good friend to Ashley. Dr.
Taylor then emerged, to Vic's surprise. He told him that Ashley is doing
well, but suggested that Vic keep Ashley away from Adam. He noted that
Victor could send Adam to a halfway house for the blind — but requested that Newman not say it was Taylor's idea. Victor agreed to think about it....
Adam went to the shed and was horrified to find MJ missing.... MJ called Jack and asked him to meet her at the coffeehouse.

Devon returned and found Lily sobbing. She then doubled over in pain. Devon
called an ambulance. At the hospital, Lily told the doctor that she thinks
she's pregnant because she took a pregnancy test, which came out positive.
She prayed that she wouldn't lose another child and wished Cane were there
with her. Later, the doctor informed her that she was never pregnant and
that he needed to do some more tests.

The Chancellors were shocked and thrilled when Phillip IV returned home.

Friday

Jack met up with Mary Jane at Crimson Lights and informed MJ that Phyllis is
no longer a suspect in hurting Summer. Jack wondered what kind of person
could hurt a child and make up lies about the mother. MJ feigned being
horrified about the incident and the fact that Summer suffered brain damage.
As Jack kept discussing it in an effort to get her to confess, Mary Jane
concluded that he thought she had something to do with Summer. Jack replied
that he knew MJ would never intentionally hurt a child, but that accidents
happen. He urged her to open up to him. "I'm so crazy about you, Jack," she
said, changing the subject. She believed that someone was trashing her and
that Jack cared too much for her to say hurtful things. Jack leaned over to
take her hand and noticed that Kitty was very still. "Is that cat dead?" he
asked. MJ lied that her pet was alive. She became annoyed when Jack
mentioned Phyllis again. He apologized, but when he went to get her a drink,
she disappeared. He called Heather and urged her to issue a warrant for
MJ.... Mary Jane assured her kitty that Jack was just "joking" when he
accused her of doing awful things.

Victor sat down with Adam in the Newman Ranch living room, where he noted
that Ashley needed to be in a stress-free environment and that Adam's
presence wasn't beneficial to her. Adam was furious that Victor was kicking
his out. Victor asked him not to take it personally. "Your wife talks to me
when you're not around. I've become her confident," Adam stated, then asked
if Dr. Taylor put him up to it. Victor insisted that no one put him up to
it. Adam went on about how Victor was dumping him because he's not perfect
like his other children. Victor stated that he's not turning on him and was
surprised that Adam didn't want more freedom. Adam continued to pout, which
infuriated Victor. "You will do as I say — you got that?" Victor said. Adam
agreed, but didn't think Ashley would be pleased with him leaving the ranch.
Later, MJ returned to the potting shed, where she encountered a furious
Adam. He was relieved that she didn't discuss him with Jack. He assured her
that Jack would soon be ready for a serious relationship and promised to
"serve Jack Abbott to you on a freakin' platter."... Victor called to make
living arrangements for Adam.

At the Chancellor Estate, everyone was shocked when Phillip IV came home
from Iraq. He told his family that he now goes by Chance, but didn't react
too strongly to seeing his back-from-the-dead father. "It's good to meet
you, sir," he simply said to Phillip III, before heading upstairs to change
into civilian clothing. Everyone noted how mature he seemed.

At the coffeehouse, Amber questioned Cane about impersonating Phillip. Cane
retorted that Amber was the one who'd tricked him into marrying her when he
first came to town. "Why are you here?" she asked. He replied that he cares
for her and is an example of how not to live your life; he urged her to make
sure that she doesn't lose everything the way he did. He noted that they're
alike because they can both lie to someone and keep a straight face — and
convince themselves that it's true. Amber realized that he really did love
Kay, Jill and Lily. He acknowledged this and explained that this is why he
could keep up the lie; because he knew he'd be able to stay with Lily. He
implored Amber to be an honest person because she could lose the one she
loves. Amber insisted that she and Daniel are "solid," but admitted that she
does worry that her past will come back to haunt her. Cane believed that the
Chancellors would've forgiven him had been honest a long time ago. "Are you
really leaving town?" she asked sadly. He confirmed it, but said that he
didn't know where he was going. Amber told him to take care of himself.

At the hospital, Olivia informed Lily that they found a mass inside of her
and that they wanted to do a biopsy. Neil and Devon tried to keep her hopes
up as Liv admitted that the mass could be malignant. Lily became alarmed
when she realized it could be cancer. Liv calmly urged her not to get
worried until they actually find something, and explained the treatments
she'd have to go through. Lily broke down, overwhelmed. Olivia reminded her
that she's a cancer survivor herself. Neil cornered Liv outside and asked
her to be honest with him. She replied that if the mass is malignant, Lily's
numbers don't look good, especially since her white cell count is elevated.
Neil became upset. Olivia tried to stay strong and reminded him that he
needed to be, as well, because Lily's mental well-being was very important.
Liv wondered if he'd call Cane, noting that Lily might need him. Neil
refused. Neil returned to Lily's hospital room and reported that the doctors
would be doing her procedure soon. Lily concluded that this meant she was in
bad shape, but Neil said that it was just a perk of being related to the
doctor. He offered to bring Lily a certain item from home. She wanted Cane,
but Neil thought it was better for her if he was out of her life.

Chance came back downstairs, now dressed in street clothes, and asked
Phillip if anyone else knew he was alive. Phil admitted that it was a total
shock to everyone. Chance asked who Cane is. "Just a friend," Phillip said.
Phillip then got a call from the doctor's office, saying that he doesn't
have the gene for Huntington's Disease, meaning that Chance was in the
clear. Everyone was pleased. When he stepped away, Jill and Kay stated how
calm Chance seemed, but Nina figured he had a million questions. Phillip
implored her not to drive Chance away the way she did with him.

A the hospital, Neil and Devon spoke in the hallway. Devon was scared that
Lily could die, but Neil didn't even want to think about losing her. They
agreed that they'd be there to support her, no matter what. Devon thought
that they should contact Cane, but Neil didn't want to discuss it. In her
room, Lily debated calling Cane, but didn't. Neil and Devon soon joined her
as Liv prepped Lily for surgery.... Cane sat and thought about happier times
with Lily, then prepared to leave town.
