Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of July 19, 2010

Monday

Katherine was thrilled when Christine paid her a visit. Chris was pleased to see Kay so happy. She then joked about everyone in Kay's family seeming to come back from the dead, including Phillip III. Kay recalled the first time that Phillip had brought Christine to meet her and Jill. Christine then discussed seeing Paul with Nina and insisted that it didn't bother her. Kay called her a bad liar.

Nina and Paul discussed how odd it had been to have Christine show up just as they were making love. Nina was also surprised that Paul had agreed to investigate Meggie. Paul explained that it was for Nikki's sake and not Victor's. Nina suggested that they go away together soon. He agreed. Nina wondered if he'd change his mind if Cricket stayed in town, but he promised that he wouldn't.

Victor proposed to Nikki, but she didn't answer. An eavesdropping Meggie interrupted and pretended that it was by accident. She cracked that they're the most married/unmarried people she'd ever met. Victor asked for some privacy, then declared his love for Nikki. Nikki thought that the proposal was sudden, but Victor admitted that he'd been thinking about it for months. She wanted to marry him for the right reasons and questioned the timing of the proposal. Victor urged Nikki to not think about Meggie. Nikki asked for time to think about it. Later, Meggie joined Victor and he explained that his priority is his family and Nikki.

At Restless Style, Chloe lamented to Billy that Chance was busy working. She suggested that Billy do a story on Jana hooking up with Ryder, but Billy wasn't really listening. He was upset that Chloe and Delia were living next door to Heather, given that someone seemed to be after her. Chloe assured him that Chance would protect them, but Billy wasn't so sure. She accused him of being jealous of Chance.... Heather was furious to learn that her apartment had been bugged by Ronan. Chance concocted a plan to get Ronan off their backs. Chance wanted to tell Chloe the truth about his tryst with Heather, but Heather urged him to keep quiet. Later, they loudly pretended that they were going to bring down a drug ring. Chance called Billy to give him the "story."

At the station, Michael gave Paul information on Meggie. Paul was about to tell him about Christine, but she arrived just then to surprise him. He was happy to see her. Ronan arrived and tried to flirt with her, but Chris wasn't impressed. After, the three caught up.

Nikki visited Kay and told her about the proposal. Kay asked why Nikki hadn't said yes yet and wondered if she had doubts about Meggie and Victor. Nikki wasn't sure that it was the right time to marry him. Kay pointed out that he always comes back to her. Nikki argued that he always leaves her, too, and that she doesn't think that she could take losing him again. Kay understood and encouraged her to follow her heart.... Victor arranged for Meggie to go on a shopping spree at Fenmore's. He then called someone and asked that person to meet him at the stables.

Ronan went to the magazine looking for Chance. Ronan urged Billy not to print whatever Chance tells him. Billy asked how he knew about the meeting; Chance arrived and arrested Ronan. Sid joined them and Chance informed him that Heather's place had been bugged. Ronan stated that he'd bugged them because he wanted to prove that they couldn't be trusted when it came to going to the press. Sid kicked Chance off the case. Ronan warned Chance that he heard "a lot of things" going on in Heather's apartment. Later, Ronan was assigned as Heather's body guard.

Nina and Kay talked about Christine. Nina lamented Cricket's timing for a visit and didn't think that Paul and Christine's connection would ever be over. Christine, Nina, Paul and Michael flashed back to times in their lives together. Michael recalled when they'd decided to start a law firm.... Paul and Christine thought about their relationship. Later, Michael asked Chris why she was back in town; she replied that she wanted to see her old friends.

Nikki went to the stables and found dozens of red roses waiting for her. Victor then rode in on a white horse and proposed to her once again. "Without you, I have nothing," he told her.... Meggie went to Fenmore's, but the saleswoman didn't believe that she could afford the expensive items.... Nikki finally accepted Victor's proposal and fell into his arms. He happily placed the engagement ring on her finger and they kissed.

Tuesday

Phyllis ran into Jack — literally — at Crimson Lights as she waited for Daniel to meet her. Jack asked how she was doing and she replied that she's "great." Jack didn't buy it, but she was certain that leaving Nick was the right decision. Jack understood when she said that she felt relieved. She looked forward to the next adventure, though she felt badly for Summer. Phyllis then showed Jack the Restless Style cover with Daniel and Abby on it. Jack didn't think it was a big deal, but Phyllis wasn't thrilled with Abby.

Abby invited Daniel to meet a Hollywood producer, but he wasn't interested. She invited him to be on her reality show. Her producer, Kent, then came over and she introduced them. Kent recognized him as the "pool guy" in the sex tape, but Daniel wouldn't comment. Kent informed her that there isn't going to be a pilot for the show because they can't find a backer and have no money. Abby vowed to get the cash, but he planned to move on to another project. She was furious. Daniel felt badly for her. Abby blamed her parents for not giving her the money. Later, Daniel met with Phyllis and he told her and Jack about the reality show not working. Phyllis questioned her son about the cover and Daniel explained that he was just trying to help out a friend. Jack mentioned the video, which Phyllis wanted to know about. Daniel squirmed as Phyllis went online and watched the sex tape. Awkward! Needless to say, Phyllis was horrified. She urged her son to stay away from Abby, especially because Victor would freak out. Daniel defended Abby and said that he genuinely likes her. Phyllis warned him that Abby would bring him down. Later, Phyllis shared that she's going to return to work — at Jabot.

Jill made some calls about her future as a Fenmore and couldn't wait to tell Lauren her news.... At Fenmore's, Lauren was served with papers from Jill. "That bitch!" Lauren seethed. Lauren made a beeline for the Chancellor Estate and confronted Jill, who was suing her for half of Fenmore's. Jill stated that it was rightfully hers, showing Lauren that her father's will said that the company would go to any living heirs. Lauren called Jill "greedy." Jill argued that it wasn't about the money, but about recognition.

Neil and Katherine waited at the G.C.A.C for Tucker. A woman named Sophia came over and introduced herself, explaining that she was handling the meeting. Kay wanted Tucker there; Neil wondered where Tucker was. Neil gave Sophia some of his ideas for Jabot, but she told him that he was completely off the mark. She explained that the advertising was outdated. Kay was loyal to the people she'd been working with, but Sophia thought they could use some "young blood" on the team. She also wanted to cut the staff by 30 percent and create a contemporary campaign. Kay was offended and wanted to hear Tucker's opinion. Sophia urged Neil to keep an open mind. Later, he asked her what her role in the company is; she replied that she's Tucker "right hand." Neil wanted to know why they hadn't yet met her and called her Tucker's "hatchet woman." Sophia denied it and left.

Turns out, Tucker was with Ashley working on a business deal. They planned to meet with Victor at the ranch. Victor answered his door and was surprised to see them together. They explained that they wanted to break into the Japanese market, but Newman Enterprises had a monopoly ... and they knew that Victor was bribing a Japanese official. Victor denied it, but Ashley reminded him how he once used bribery before. Tucker relayed how they witnessed Victoria meeting with a government official in Japan. Victor explained that she was meeting with the man to discuss office space, but Tucker concluded that it was a cover-up. He suggested that Victor give Jabot some shelf space in Japan if he wanted them to keep quiet. Victor threatened to sue Tucker if he went public with the bribery accusation. Newman than warned Ashley to watch out for McCall.

Abby went to the ranch and confronted her father. Victor retorted that he and Ashley are angry with her for exposing herself in the magazine. He didn't care that her reality show was over and wanted her to invest her money in something more sound. Abby believed that he just didn't think that her being a reality star was classy enough for him. He accused her of acting immature and implored her to show him how adult she is. Abby mentioned the plight of the animals, but Victor concluded that she doesn't really care about wildlife and just wanted access to her trust fund. He noted that Victoria and Nick worked for their money and stated that she seemed to have a sense of entitlement. "Have you met a Newman who didn't?" she cracked. This actually made Victor smile.

Ashley informed Jack that they want to find a way to buy Beauty Of Nature and merge it with Jabot. Jack didn't think that Victor would go for it, but asked her to invite Tucker over. Tucker came by and Jack proposed that if he got Tucker BoN, Tucker would make him co-CEO of Jabot. Tucker didn't think that he could get Victor to sell, but Jack was confident. Tucker agreed to the deal. Later, Neil confronted Tucker about Sophia, but Tucker had confidence in the woman and said that Neil should get used to working with her.... Sophia met up with Malcolm — and revealed herself to be Mal's fiancée!

Kay came home and found Jill and Lauren arguing. She told Jill that a lawsuit would make the difficult situation worse. Jill disagreed. Kay demanded that they keep quiet and tried to make each woman understand the other's point of view. Kay explained that Jill has been searching for her biological parents for years, but agreed that Jill was moving too quickly in trying to get a hold of Fenmore's. Kay suggested that Jill give Lauren time to process the news and then discuss everything rationally. Kay implored Jill to drop the suit, noting that Lauren would never be her sister if Jill sued her. Lauren replied that she'd never accept Jill as a sister, anyway. Jill broke down as Lauren stated that her father had left Jill in the past. Jill decided to go ahead with the suit. Lauren angrily stormed out.

Victor and Ashley met at the club to discuss Abby. They were glad to hear that the reality show was kaput, but feared that Abby would rebel.... Abby met with Jack and she complained to him about her parents. She planned to sell Brad's house to get the money. Jack noted that Brad owned stock in Newman and that Abby inherited it. He urged her to use that power to do whatever she wants.

Wednesday

At the ranch, Nikki made a reservation for the family to have dinner. She wondered what the children would think of her and Victor's engagement. Victor believed that they'd be happy. They discussed Victoria and Victor lambasted her decision to date Billy. Just then, Victoria came by and Nikki invited her to join them for dinner for "something very exciting." Nikki stepped out and Vicky tried to get her dad to tell her what was going on. He wouldn't spill and instead asked her about her trip to Japan; he then filled her in on Tucker and Ashley's accusation of bribery. He reamed her out for being careless, but Victoria replied that she was just trying to do business for him. Victor was also angry with her for going to Japan with Billy; he warned her that Billy is trouble, but Victoria retorted that who she spends time with is none of her father's business. He ordered her to join them for dinner, stating that if she didn't attend, she'd live to regret it.

Daniel stopped by Restless Style and asked Billy why he'd lied to Abby about her article. Snarky Billy asked if Daniel made sex tapes with all of his friends.... Jack told Abby that she's entitled to Brad's Newman Enterprises stock. Abby didn't want to be Jack's pawn. Jack noted that they both want something from Victor and suggested that they form an alliance. She was intrigued, but he warned her that this type of strategy would take time. However, Abby wanted her money right then and there. Jack explained that they had to be very careful about each move they make. Instead, Abby wanted to pressure Victor into giving her the trust fund. Jack was dubious.

Nikki went to the magazine and asked Billy what his intentions were toward the Newmans. She feared that he'd hurt Victoria again. Billy realized that what she really wanted to know was how serious he and Vicky are. He admitted that he's torn between honoring his relationship and finding a way to sell magazines. Billy also wasn't sure that he and Victor would ever get along. However, he told Nikki that he has "honorable intentions" toward Victoria. Nikki believed him.

Malcolm and Sophia awoke in bed together. She shared that she'd met Neil, but Neil had no idea that she's Mal's fiance. She wondered how he'll react when he gets the news. They began to kiss, but were interrupted by a call from Tucker. He instructed both to come to his office. They headed over. Tucker greeted them and told Sophia that he wanted her to move to Genoa City so she could handle a deal with Jack. She wasn't thrilled about settling down in Wisconsin, but he urged her to consider it.... Tucker asked Jack how he intended to purchase Beauty Of Nature. Jack was confident that he could do it.... Sophia agreed to stay in town. Malcolm was thrilled.

At the G.C.A.C., Adam and Skye made calls for the Newman Fund. Nick came by their suite and accused Adam of running a Ponzi scheme while using the Newman name. Adam reminded Nick that Newman is his legal name. Nick vowed to get the FCC to shut him town, but Adam insisted that it's a legitimate hedge fund. Nick didn't believe him; Adam invited him to bring it on.

Victoria and Nikki met up at Crimson Lights. Victoria complained about her father's treatment of her and wondered if she should get a job somewhere else. Nikki told her about her visit with Billy. Victoria was humiliated that her mom went and checked up on her and stormed away. Vicky went to see Billy and groused about her parents. He urged her to attend her family dinner; she asked him to escort her.

Abby asked Victor if she could work for him. She wanted to create a television division of NE and produce the NAKED HEIRESS. She reminded him that she has stock in the company. Victor replied that he has the majority share and he calls the shots; he said that she has to work her way up if she wants to be a part of Newman. Abby again asked for access to her trust fund, but he refused. Abby went to the stables to clear her head and Daniel joined her. She lamented that Victor doesn't take her seriously and that she wants to do the show so she could have some freedom and be able to express herself. "My goal is to touch people's hearts," she explained. Daniel encouraged her to keep her dream alive. She caught him looking around and he admitted that he was checking for cameras. Abby was offended — but he proved that he trusted her by giving her a kiss. They undressed each other and enjoyed a literal roll in the hay.

Victor and Nikki went to the club and waited for their children to arrive. Nick appeared first and told them about Adam and Skye's hedge fund. Victor and Nikki were furious. Victoria arrived with Billy — and gave her beau a passionate smooch right in front of her parents and brother. Victor decided not to wait for Abby; he and Nikki announced their engagement. Nick and Victoria were speechless. Abby then entered the restaurant riding in naked on her horse!

Thursday

Nina called Paul for a date at Jimmy's. Christine arrived at the bar and saw Nina there. Nina asked her to join her.

At the G.C.A.C., Victor informed Nick and Victoria that he and Nikki are engaged — again. Just then, Abby entered the club on horseback and exposed herself, while Daniel filmed her. Victor quickly grabbed a tablecloth and covered her. Nick and Victor told Daniel to stop filming, but he refused. The cops soon arrived and Victor asked them to not tell the media about his daughter. Abby, however, wanted to be in the media and was ready to sell her horse to get her money. Victor scolded her, then grabbed the camera and smashed it on the floor. He then allowed the cops to arrest Abby. Nikki, Victoria and Nick feared that jail would be too harsh for her, but Victor wanted his daughter to learn her lesson.... Abby was taken to the station and wanted to touch up her makeup for her mug shot. Daniel noted that jail isn't a game, but she was excited to be making a statement and was sure that she'd get out on bail. Daniel informed her that she can't pay bail with credit cards.

Chloe helped Chance move his stuff back into the Chancellor Estate. She looked forward to spending time with her fianc, but his mind was on other things, namely his tryst with Heather.... Heather was not happy to have Ronan as her police escort and vowed to get Chance reinstated.... Kevin helped Chloe move her stuff back home and confided that he hasn't heard from Jana. He feared that Ryder's antics would cost him Crimson Lights.

Nina questioned Christine about her job, but Chris evaded the question. Chance arrived at the bar and greeted the ladies. He then approached a group of guys at the bar and asked who'd tipped them off to the warrant at the jail. They denied knowing anything, which frustrated Chance. After, Chance went to the station and Ronan told his rival to stay out of the case. Chance replied that he's going to continue investigating and filled Heather in on his meeting at Jimmy's. She asked if he told Chloe about their night together, but he said that he hadn't.

Paul joined Nina and Christine at the bar. The conversation took a grim turn when Nina mentioned the child whom she'd lost after he was sold on the black market by Rose DeVille. Nina recalled Rose telling her that the baby had been given away. Christine remembered how frightening Rose was and how she'd threatened her and Nina. Nina wished that she could know that he was okay. Christine said that she felt in her heart that he was doing well. Paul offered to help find him, which Nina took him up on. Christine suddenly left and they wondered why Chris was acting so oddly.

Chloe kept Kevin company while he went online and tried to track Ryder and Jana. They went to the club to search for them, but were told that "the two of them" took off without paying the bill, and that their exit had been recorded on the security footage. Kevin went through print-outs of the footage, which included pictures of Jana and Ryder kissing. Kevin hoped that the cops would find his brother.

Nikki and Victor finally got to ask their kids how they felt about them becoming engaged. Victoria and Nick replied halfheartedly that it's great, so long as it lasts. They noted that in their parents' multiple marriages, someone has always gotten hurt. Victor assured them that they didn't make the decision lightly. Nikki stated that there's no one whom she loves more than Victor. Nick and Victoria confided in each other about how they wished their marriages hadn't ended. Later, Victor raised a toast to Nikki and to what they intended to be their last wedding.

Abby was told that her arraignment wouldn't happen until Monday. She began to freak out as the guards led her away, and pleaded with Daniel to help her. Daniel tried to keep her calm and promised to visit her. He offered to talk to Victor, but she asked him not to. He watched as she was led away to her cell. Later, Abby sat alone in her cell and cried.

Ronan and Heather went to the coffeehouse. Chloe ran into them and told Heather how glad she is to have her fianc home. Chance arrived and Heather glowered at the happy couple. Chloe made a point to be all over him as she invited Chance to join her and Delia on an outing. Chance agreed, depending on his schedule. Chloe stated that he's going to be the coolest step-dad ever. She tried to kiss him, but he didn't seem interested. Chloe asked what was going on.... Kevin invited Allison on another date. Daniel overheard and Kevin filled him in on his problems with Jana and Ryder.

Christine called Ronan and shared that Paul had offered to help Nina find him. Ronan implored her to make sure that Nina never finds out who he is.... Chance was arrested for drug possession. Chance concluded that he'd been set up.

Friday

At the Abbott manse, Jack lamented to Emily about Abby being in jail. Emily then showed Jack Patty's journal, which she'd found. She wanted to return it to Patty; Jack was impressed with Em's compassion... At the mental ward, Patty dreamed that she awoke and found her cat in her bed. She imagined that she was outdoors and followed the cat as he crawled into a hole in a tree. She fell through the tree and ended up in the G.C.A.C. basement, where someone called her a murderer. She kept screaming about there being two Adams. After she awoke for real, Paul visited her and she told him about her dream. She admitted that she had doubts about whether she really killed Hightower. Paul wanted her to speak with someone to sort things out. Paul stepped into the hallway and called Emily, asking for her help. Jack urged her to say no, but she told Paul to call her if she was needed. Emily noted to Jack that Patty could be another one of Adam's victims.

At the G.C.A.C., Adam and Skye worked on their hedge fund. They then went to meet Adam's lawyer, Vance, for a drink. Vance told Adam that with his help, he could be a free man very soon. Adam couldn't wait to see everyone's reaction when the charges were dropped. Jack encountered them and warned Adam that he wouldn't get away with his crimes, but Adam just laughed at him.

Chloe and Nina went to the station after Chance was arrested for drug possession. Heather and Ronan arrived and Ronan told Nina that Chance is in trouble. Christine joined them and Heather and Chloe introduced themselves. Chris assured them and Nina that they'd get everything straightened out. Chloe noted that Chance is trustworthy, but had been acting strangely. Nina was sure that it wasn't due to him using drugs.... Chance spoke with Sid and Pomerantz and insisted that he'd been set up. He blamed Ronan, but Ronan denied it. Heather defended Chance, but Ronan pointed out that Chance could be setting him up instead. He asked Heather if she'd ever considered that idea that Chance slept with her to make her trust him. Heather was furious. Sid suspended Chance without pay; he stormed out of the station without even addressing his loved ones. Heather told Nina that Ronan threw Chance under the bus. Nina reamed out Ronan for being a traitor, but Christine stopped her from going off on him any further.

Emily arrived at the mental hospital, but told Paul that she wasn't sure it would do any good for her to speak with Patty. Patty, however, was thrilled to see the shrink. She gave Patty her diary and Patty suggested that she write down her thoughts to straighten them out. Patty lowered her voice to a whisper and informed them that Adam can walk through walls and comes to her while she's sleeping. She wondered if the "devil" got Adam to trick her into confessing to the murder. Patty asked why Emily wanted to help her; Em replied that she cares about her, and instructed Paul to call the D.A. ... Emily later went to the club and spoke with Pomerantz about how confused Patty was about her confession. She recommended that Pomerantz meet with Patty. Adam watched them speak from afar, then informed Skye that they had a "major problem."

Paul went to the station and Heather and Nina filled him in on what had happened with Chance. Paul didn't want Ronan to guard his daughter, but Ronan refused to quit his position. Paul was determined to get him thrown off the case; Nina wanted Ronan thrown off the force.... Chloe followed a furious Chance home as he spoke out against Ronan. Chloe promised her fianc that he'd get through this. Chance wasn't so sure. Chloe asked why he'd been acting so weird lately and he insisted that he doesn't do drugs or sell them. She urged him to tell her what was going on. Nina joined them and promised to get him out of this mess.... Heather and Ronan went to Crimson Lights. They argued; Ronan grabbed her arm. Paul entered and shoved Ronan off of her. Christine arrived and heard Heather tell Ronan that she doesn't want to spend any more time with him. Chris stated that Heather was making a big mistake.... Chance dropped the bomb on Chloe that he cheated on her with Heather.... Christine explained to Heather and Paul that Ronan is an undercover cop and is in town to protect Heather.

Emily and Jack returned home, where Em confided that it was tough for her to see Patty so broken. She wanted to work with Patty again, but Jack hated the idea.... Adam and Skye went online and studied a layout of the mental hospital. Adam planned to make sure that Patty didn't recant her confession.... Patty scribbled in her journal, writing, "I didn't kill him."
