Y&R Week of June 30, 2008
Monday
On the phone, David reported to Nikki that his meeting in L.A. at the studio went well. Nikki asked if he was coming back that night but he claimed he was going to a business dinner. After hanging up, Nikki couldn't quell her misgivings that her husband was telling the truth. Nikki's intuition was right — David was in a Las Vegas casino gambling with
Walter at his side. David was on a winning streak and Walter encouraged, "Bet it all, you can pay me off and go home with a suitcase full of cash.... You lose, I still win. Look, you can pay me back by working for me again. I know it's not your favorite job, but you are good at it."
In Vegas, Jeffrey and Gloria were winning at the roulette table. After, they went to a wedding chapel and mulled over the choices for a celebrity impersonator to marry them. They chose Little Richard and someone looking like the singer showed up and started warbling to them. Gloria was impressed and told Jeff that their impersonator seemed like the real deal. After they
were married, Jeffrey confessed that the look alike was really Little Richard, who is also an ordained minister. Gloria was elated.
Amber was depressed about giving up a chance to see Daniel but Adrian assured she was doing the right thing by paying attention to her job. Amber got Adrian to admit that he and Colleen broke up.
At Indigo, Sharon and Jack fretted about sales of the next Restless Style issue. Victor and Sabrina stopped by long enough for Victor to jab, "What, pray tell, will you do once this magazine folds? What career will you pursue?" After Mr. and Mrs. Newman went on their way. Jack was reminded how much he loathed Victor. Meanwhile, Vic filled in Sabrina on his longstanding feud with Jack.
Adrian met Sabrina to interview her for the Restless Style article. Before leaving them alone, Victor warned Adrian to write a "fair and accurate" piece, then departed. Later, Sabrina told her husband that the interview went well.
Colleen was bugged when Brad asked that she call when she's not coming home. She showed up at Restless Style to visit Jack and learned that Adrian is writing for the mag. Amber got shut down when she tried to get nosy with Colleen. Sharon and Jack discovered that Colleen wanted to move out of her
dad's place and invited her to put down stakes at their house. Colleen eagerly agreed, then bumped into Adrian, who was depressed when she gave him back her key to his apartment.
Nikki admitted to Katherine that David is gambling again and that she almost took a drink. While they were commiserating, Victor stopped by their table and thanked his ex for encouraging Victoria to come to his wedding. After he moved on, Nikki sighed, "Of all days he decides to be nice." Nikki was unsure if she wanted to stay in her marriage.
Adrian and Amber decided to drown their sorrows together... Jack discovered that a scandal was caused when Sabrina put on an exhibit in Paris for an artist named Phillipe, who turned out to be her lover. Jack then put in a call to France... Gloria spotted David in the casino just as he lost all his winnings.
Tuesday
Jill abrasively informed Heather of some mistakes in her work. After, Victoria warned Heather that dating Adam was raising red flags. Paul later joined his daughter for coffee at Indigo and Heather surmised that Jill's bad attitude may stem from Heather not bringing anyone to trial for Ji Min's murder. Heather decided to look into the case again. Later, Jill was touched when she found Heather going through the files concerning Ji Min. "I thought I was the only one who remembered him," Jill sighed and Heather vowed to find Ji Min's killer.
David was devastated by his big loss at the casino. "I may have just lost a
lot more than money," he groaned to Walter. David freaked when he noticed
Gloria looking at him, then boarding an elevator. Walter assured that since
Glo didn't know about David's gambling, she wouldn't have a reason to
mention anything to Nikki.
Gloria told Jeffrey that she felt bad for Nikki because she's a friend and David is obviously gambling again. "You're trying to figure out how you can work this information to your advantage," Jeff pointed out and Gloria laughed at her hubby's astute observation. The newlyweds wrapped up their honeymoon and checked out, just as David came looking for them. Meanwhile, Gloria clucked to Jeff, "I'm going to tell Nikki about David. She will be devastated. She'll get over it, dump him and appreciate and love me forever."
"I can't go on like this," Nikki lamented about the state of her marriage to Katherine. "I am such a mess." Kay suggested that Nikki ask Victoria to take
her mother's place for planning the upcoming charity gala. Kay also mentioned that she was going to ask Sabrina to be a co-chair to which Nikki snarked, "Let the new Mrs. Victor Newman take her rightful place on the throne... see how long she's queen." Later, a stressed-out Nikki asked Victoria to step in for the charity event and she accepted even after she knew Kay was asking Sabrina to co-chair.
After finding out that Nikki was giving up her chair on the charity committee, Sabrina paid her a visit and asked if the reason was because of Sabrina's marriage to Victor. Nikki was offended and countered, "The choices that I make, the things that I worry about have nothing to do with who's chairing what and definitely nothing about you."
Jeff and Gloria returned to Jabot. While she went looking for Nikki, Jeff told a shocked Jill that he married Gloria. He then got a slap in the face. Meanwhile, Glo approached Nikki.... Sabrina was happy when Victoria revealed they would be working on the charity ball together. "It's a charity ball, Sabrina," Victoria said. "It's not family therapy."... Walter reminded David that he can work off his debt — like before. Cut to a flashback of Ji Min's lifeless body. "You did a first-rate job," lauded Walter. "You have a real talent for this kind of work."
Wednesday
Gloria informed Nikki that she and Jeffrey eloped in Vegas, where they ran
into David playing roulette. Nikki reeled and she told Gloria to leave. "I'm
sorry you had to hear it from me," offered Glo. After Gloria left, Nikki tried to
call David but got his voicemail. She next summoned Victoria and Nick to her
office and revealed that David is gambling again."You're going to dump this
guy right now," growled Nick but Nikki insisted that she wasn't going to
desert her husband.
Jill was still smarting over Jeffrey's marriage news. Cane returned from
Cabo without Lily, who went on to a photo shoot in L.A., and made dinner
plans with his mom. Later, Jill conferred with Chloe and decided that Lily
should be the only Fresh Face of Jabot girl (that is, after Chloe trashed
the better pix of the other girls). Jill worried about Lily balancing her
career with school. "What if I work with Lily, and then Cane manages the
campaign?" posed Chloe and Jill agreed to give that arrangement a try.
At Indigo, Neil questioned how long Tyra was going to visit but Devon didn't
know. Devon then got touchy when Neil seemed suspicious of Tyra. Cane, Tyra
and Ann all showed up and Cane discreetly advised Tyra to let Neil know that
she is having financial problems. Meanwhile, Devon became upset that his dad
wanted to ask Tyra about her plans. Devon called the Seattle hotel where Tyra is supposedly employed but got a recording that it is now closed. Tyra
then confessed that she lost her job when the hotel went out of business and
is broke. She also admitted that Cane was paying for her hotel room in Genoa
City. Neil thanked Cane but added, "This is my family... I'm supposed to
handle that." Neil and Devon huddled and Devon suggested that Tyra and Ana
move in with Neil but he didn't think it was a good idea. Devon then said
goodbye to Tyra but Neil interrupted with an invitation for her and Ana to
stay with him.
Jack and Sharon were not happy when Gloria showed up at the mansion with
Jeffrey in tow. "We got married," Glo happily announced but Jack wasn't
thrilled to hear that the newlyweds were heading to the pool house to start
their honeymoon. Once Mr. and Mrs. Bardwell were sequestered away, Jeff
revealed that he convinced Jack to let her move back onto the estate.
To pay back his gambling debt, David agreed to work for Walter again....
Both Cane and Devon were concerned by Chloe's news about Lily being a solo
Jabot model.... Neil fretted to Karen about letting Trya move in.... Jack
told Sharon that he thinks his father would want Gloria to keep living in
the pool house even with Jeff.... Gloria was over the moon when Jeff gave
back her missing diamonds. "You married for money before, but this time,
sugar pants, you have married for fun," laughed Jeff.... David walked into
Nikki's office and she and offered her support. "We're over," he declared.
"You have to let me go."
Thursday
Nikki followed David and caught up with him at GCAC. She wanted to talk but
he was through with that. "I am poison," David declared but Nikki promised
to stand by him. He still walked away so Nikki took a perch at the bar. Nick
and Victoria showed up and their mom announced that David was leaving her.
David appeared but Nick wasn't happy that his stepdad was only changing
rooms — and not leaving town. David agreed to check out of the hotel but
Nikki again said it wasn't what she wanted. "Some day you'll thank me,"
David stated and left.
Victoria was upset when J.T. explained that he and Paul investigated David
and learned he had two wives who died under mysterious circumstances.
"You're just telling me this now?" Vicky asked and wasn't placated when her
husband said he was just trying to be protective. She then wanted to be
alone so J.T. met up with Paul and shared that David left Nikki.
After their dinner at GCAC, Sabrina headed out to meet with Jana while
Victor made a business call. After, he noticed Nick comforting Nikki. Victor
approached and asked if everything was okay. Nikki assured her ex that she
was fine but Victor walked away, unconvinced. Nick headed back to Restless
Style where Victor soon showed up and asked what is going on with Nikki.
Nick stonewalled his dad's inquiries, to which Victor growled, "David Chow
is a dangerous man. I feel it in my bones."
Adam suggested that he and Heather take a moonlight swim. She didn't think
it would be a good idea explained that she once tried to put Victor in jail
for murder. Adam still wanted to go for that swim and Heather reluctantly
agreed. At the ranch, they emerged from the swimming pool then went inside
to have sex but encountered Victor. A nervous Heather went upstairs to
change and Victor told his son, "She's not welcomed in this house."
Amber and Adrian took another break together at Crimson Lights. Adrian
became jealous when he saw one of his former students, Mason, show up to
meet Colleen for a date. Amber lamented to Jana that she still hasn't heard
from Daniel. Phyllis became alarmed when she overheard Jana joke that she
and Amber could plan a double wedding.
Sabrina encountered an upset Victoria and suggested they discuss the gala.
Victoria agreed and the former friends almost started getting along like old
times until Vicky remembered their cold-war current status and snapped back
to a business-like demeanor.
A depressed Nikki sat down to have a dinner for one but Paul showed up and
joined her. "I'm not the least bit sorry that David is out of your life," he
admitted. The pals hugged as David watched.
Daniel emailed a photo to his mom of he and Kevin with a few enthusiastic
groupies. Phyllis cropped the pic so that only Daniel being kissed by a girl
were seen then left it on her computer. As Nick and Phyllis were leaving,
Amber and Adrian arrived to work late and Phyllis asked Amber to turn off
her computer. Amber was horrified to see the close-up of Daniel being mauled
by a pretty girl.
Victoria and J.T. Made up and she encouraged her husband to keep
investigating David.
