Young and Restless Recaps

Monday
Nikki flashed back to David's admission about his gambling problem. David apologized to her again but Nikki said it was too soon to take up the issue of forgiveness. She admonished him for breaking her trust. David offered to do anything she wants. Nikki said she's not sure what she wants and doesn't know if she can ever trust him again. She excused herself. Victoria asked Sabrina if she could stick around a little longer, but Sabrina said she needed to get to New York to develop new clients ASAP. Victor joined them. Sabrina asked Victor if she could see his private art collection. Victor told her to stop by the office. Nikki stopped by to speak with Victoria as Sabrina left for Newman.
At Newman, Adam told Victor about his dinner with Nick and Phyllis. Victor was shocked, and warned Adam not to get in the middle of things with Nick's business. Adam assured Victor that his loyalty lies with Victor and Newman Enterprises, but he did add that he thinks Nick's magazine would be a sound investment to place ads in. Victor said no. Adam asked if it was personal, but Victor insisted everything with him is business. Adam asked then if it was okay if he still pursues the matter. Victor asked Adam if he's questioning Victor's judgment. Victoria arrived and agreed with Adam. Victor said he felt outnumbered, so if they felt committed to go ahead and run with it. Sabrina arrived and Victoria introduced her to Adam. Adam ruffled Sabrina's feathers with comments about spoiled rich kids studying art overseas, but Sabrina promptly put him in his place. Victoria showed Sabrina the nursery Victor had installed for Victoria in her office. Victor showed Sabrina the art collection. Afterwards Victor took Sabrina to lunch. He asked her which was her favorite painting. Victor told Sabrina her choice reminds him of Victoria. Sabrina told Victor how Victoria was her first American friend and that she changed her life. The two discussed their differing interests in art. On their way out they bumped into David and Nikki. Sabrina asked how long ago Victor had divorced Nikki.
At Jabot, the photographer complimented Lily on a great photo shoot. David challenged Brad about Brad going around him to get Nikki to approve some business matters. Brad suggested they should work together and not get off on the wrong foot. He invited David to have coffee at the GCAC to clear the air. David got a call on his cell from his creditor. Nikki learned from Cane that Brad and David went out for coffee. During their lunch break Lily noticed how little Chloe was eating, and Chloe chastised Lily on her fattening salad dressing. The photo shoot resumed and this time Chloe was bitchy and demanding and critical of the shoot. Lily and everyone humorously chalked it up to Chloe's low-cal diet. After the shoot Cane told Lily they'd be sending her to Restless Style's launch party. Afterwards Lily told Cane how funny it felt to pose in front of the lights, but Cane told her how well she did. When the coast was clear the two stole some passionate kisses.
Over coffee David spelled out the chain of command. Brad acknowledged it, but added he doesn't want to see his talents squandered. Brad declared that he knows the business — and Nikki — better than David does. David replied that Brad's job is to report to David. Just then David's creditor, Walter, took a seat at the bar. Nikki arrived and asked to speak with David privately. After Brad excused himself, Nikki told him she's made a decision about them. She asked how long it's been since he gambled. David said four months. Nikki said she'd be there for him during his gambling struggle. David said he knows he doesn't deserve this. Nikki said he doesn't deserve going through it alone, and he doesn't have to. He promised to earn Nikki's trust once again. Nikki vowed to help David deal with Walter and his debt.
Tuesday
At Newman, J.T. assured Victoria that everything was okay with the baby before leaving for a business errand. Adam told Victoria that he plans to visit the warehouse to tell Nick and Phyllis that they got the ad money for them. Victoria critiqued Adam's advertising plan for Beauty of Nature. Adam agreed to incorporate her suggestions into the plan. Victoria got a call from Reed's doctor that he does have a staph infection, but that it can be treated by oral antibiotics. Sabrina left to get the prescription while Victoria contacted J.T. After giving the baby some antibiotics, Victoria was relieved when Sabrina said she'd rearrange her schedule to stay in town a few more days. J.T. returned home to check on Reed and tried to calm Victoria's nerves. J.T. insisted that the baby getting sick is not her fault.
Neil questioned Victor about his apparent about-face about advertising in Nick and Phyllis' magazine. Victor explained he's letting Adam learn from his own mistakes. Victor was pleasantly surprised to receive an art catalog from Sabrina. Nick and Phyllis welcomed Jack and Sharon back from L.A. Jack told them he has good and bad news. Good news: Sharon will be joining them full-time. As Jack was about to give the bad news, they experienced a brownout in the warehouse. After Nick restored power, Jack explained that Eric Forrester changed his mind about advertising, and suspects that Victor was behind Eric's about-face. "He's trying to shoot us down before we even get off the ground," Nick surmised about his father, vowing to do all he can to get Victor to back off. After Jack and Sharon also left, Adam arrived to tell Phyllis he convinced Victor to change his mind to advertise in the magazine. Phyllis was flabbergasted. Adam suggested that they make a big splash with the magazine, sell it to the highest bidder and turn a quick and tidy profit, but Phyllis insisted they want to run the magazine for the long haul. Just then they suffered another brownout. At Newman, Nick barged into Victor's office. "This time you've gone too far," Nick scolded, and accused him of getting Eric Forrester to pull his advertising. Victor denied that he sabotaged anything, but conceded he gave Eric his honest opinion when asked for it. After Nick stormed out in a huff, Sabrina appeared, which brought a wide smile to Victor's face. She confided to Victor her worry that Victoria has changed, that she has become fragile. Victor appreciated Sabrina's insights and concerns, and welcomed her to continue her stay at his ranch.
At Jabot, Nikki told David she needs to end his situation by paying off his debt. David said he couldn't allow her to do that for him. Nikki said she understands addiction, but David insisted he couldn't take her money. Nikki said it was the only option, under the condition that he get help for his addiction. David agreed, but was shocked when Nikki admitted she doesn't know if she can marry him because she doesn't know him like she thinks she did. Nikki said she still loves him but needs time to reevaluate their relationship. She added that she needs to know that he's sincere about treating his addiction and is actively seeking help. Brad interrupted and David excused himself. Brad asked if everything was okay between her and David. Nikki said yes, but then said it's none of his business. Brad corrected that it is his business because his career is riding on the company's success. Nikki insisted things are fine and her relationship with David is a private matter, and Brad backed down. Later Brad eavesdropped as Nikki making a wire transfer of the money into David's account. David met with Walter and paid him off. When David left, Brad took a seat at the bar next to Walter and bought Walter a drink.
Wednesday
Phyllis called Nick to tell him Adam convinced Victor to support their magazine with ads. Nick didn't believe Victor's move was to help their company, and he assured Phyllis there must be a catch to the offer. Sharon brought Noah home and Nick told her about Victor's contribution. Nick maintained that Victor wanted to see him fail. Sharon asked how he felt about Adam working at Newman, pointing out that Adam was being groomed for Nick's old job. Nick said he hoped Adam knew what was in store for him, working under Victor's tyrannical thumb. Sharon noted that Adam could use a friend, and Nick admitted that he should try to be nicer.
At the Abbott manse, Gloria and Jeff got into another fight, and Jack eavesdropped. The more the newlyweds chatted, the more Jack discovered about their ruse of a marriage. After Gloria walked out, Jack approached Jeff and asked him if he was on board with his offer. Jeff said he hadn't convinced Gloria yet, but he'd see what he could do in 24 hours. Jeff walked out, and when Sharon arrived home, Jack told her what he learned about Jeff and Gloria. "That marriage has nothing to do with love or anything that resembles it," he crowed. Jack also mentioned that Jeff was willing to sell he and Gloria's half of the mansion, perhaps illegally.
While Phyllis waited for the power to be restored at the Restless Style offices, Adam offered to keep her company. When Adam asked how she hooked up with Nick, Phyllis changed the subject and asked how Adam was dealing with losing his mother. He shared that Hope told him Victor was his father while she was on her deathbed. Their conversation remained friendly until Adam implied that Nick had everything in life handed to him, and didn't have to work hard for success like he and Victor did. Offended, Phyllis became defensive and told Adam he shouldn't judge Nick because their struggles were different. Phyllis accused Adam of being jealous, but Adam said he was proud of who he was. He asked why Nick got fired from Newman, but Phyllis said it was too complicated to discuss. He then asked if she had any advice for him as a former Newman employee. "Don't get too close and watch your back," she warned.
At the coffeehouse, Daniel and Kevin tried to figure out where Amber was getting all of her extra money. Kevin asked why Daniel was so concerned about Amber and her affairs. Daniel assured him that he wanted to protect Amber because she was his best friend. "Sounds to me like you're in love with her," Kevin clarified. Daniel denied the claim, but Kevin remained unconvinced.
After Daniel left, Gloria stormed into the coffeehouse demanding Kevin talk to her. "I am going mad, Kevin," she started. "I am going to kill Jeffrey." Gloria confided that Jeff was driving her crazy because he knew everything she was doing before it happened. Kevin determined that Jeff was spying on her, and Gloria started thinking up ways to kill Jeff and blame Jack. Jeff later showed up and told Gloria he would set her free with a divorce. Gloria asked what had gotten into him, and he said he wanted to give her a chance to fall for him so they could be a real couple. Gloria seemed relieved, but not certain she could trust him.
When Daniel and Jana went to help Amber move into her new apartment, Jana made up an excuse to leave Daniel alone with Amber, and after a few minutes of friendly conversation Amber wand Daniel began kissing and making love.
Once Amber was asleep, Daniel went downstairs and found her stash of cash hidden in a duffel bag.
Thursday
Over drinks, Karen thanked Neil for helping her find her voice — literally — and she talked about how much she enjoyed singing. Neil told Karen he thinks about love when he watches her sing. Neil professed his love to Karen and she responded in kind as they slowly moved in to kiss each other. As they slow danced, Neil told Karen how serious he is and how he's ready to take "that next step" with her, and they kissed again. Karen said she's not ready for marriage. Neil said he's not talking marriage just yet, just living together. Karen said she wants to be sure that they're certain. Neil insisted he was. Karen said she always admired his honesty and they kissed again.
Daniel stumbled upon Amber's loot and confronted her. Amber lied and said she got it from singing. Daniel became incensed and demanded she level with him, "or else we're finished." She continued to lie but Daniel saw through it. Finally, Amber broke down and admitted it was Plum's money that she told him she had gotten rid of. "Do you have any idea how much trouble we're in because of this?" Daniel asked. The pair had a major blowout over the dough, screaming at the top of their lungs at each other. Amber tried to justify keeping the loot and tempted Daniel with it. The passion and intensity of the moment drove Daniel to make love to Amber again, right there on top of the money. After having sex Daniel's position on the money softened a bit, but he remained unsure. He needed time to think about two things: What are they going to do with the money, and what are they going to do about themselves? They speculated what it meant that they've now slept together three times. Amber suggested they need each other and the money. Daniel remarked that maybe there was a way they could have it all....
Nick challenged Phyllis to a video game. Phyllis kicked his butt. Nick suggested they do something he's better at — making out. Afterwards they discussed Adam. Nick decided maybe he would try to help steer Adam in the right direction. Phyllis praised him for warming up to his brother. Alone at home, Victor stared at a picture of Nick and flashed back to the time he and Nick became estranged. Meanwhile, Adam worked diligently at the bar on his laptop. He flashed back to his previous encounters with Phyllis. Adam made a call to someone in New York, and left him/her a voicemail checking on this person and asking if they're okay. He then had a fantasy of kissing Phyllis, snapped out of it and went back to work. Adam paid Victor a visit at home, and he was impressed with the ranch. Adam suggested changing the name of the cosmetics line from Beauty of Nature to something more contemporary. He told Victor he harbors the same life ambitions that Victor does. Victor asked if Adam just came here for a job and not to be his son. Adam confirmed that. Victor said he had a choice: he could be alone the rest of his life, or walk into his office one day and claim his family name of Newman. Victor excused himself for the night, and left Adam thinking.
J.T. made dinner for Victoria while the baby slept. He questioned his bride about her change in demeanor and asked her if she regretted marrying him. Victoria insisted that she's suffering some kind of postpartum blues that have nothing to do with him, and reaffirmed her love for J.T. The two stopped eating to smooch. Later Victoria snuggled up to a sleeping J.T. and Reed.
Friday
Phyllis and Nick were stressed by the continued brownouts at the warehouse. Jack and Sharon arrived and the four make preparations for their pre-launch party. Earlier, Jack and Sharon woke up at home and were horrified to see the downstairs of the mansion turned into a cheesy 70s lounge. Jack showed Sharon the spycam he ordered for them to spy on Jeff and Gloria so they get something on tape to force them out of the house. Later at Crimson Lights, Kevin spotted Jack and Sharon at their table and instructed Jana to spy on them.
Victor was amused by Adam's ambitions. Victoria was miffed to learn that Adam met with the ad agency execs on his own without first getting/incorporating her suggestions. Victor excused himself while Adam and Victoria clashed over whether to change the name from Beauty of Nature to something else. Adam accused Victoria of being afraid to make change and take risks. Victoria accused Adam of being deliberately argumentative just to prove himself. Adam suggested that his presence makes her feel insecure, especially since she has an art degree and not a business degree. Adam met with Victor, who rejected Adam's proposal for the name change. Victor advised Adam to slow his horses, suggesting it takes a while to learn the ropes. Victoria told J.T. she's resolved to show up Adam. Adam met with Phyllis and Nick to go over the ad arrangements. Nick invited him to join them and Victoria for dinner. Adam accepted. Nick introduced Adam to Jack and Sharon, and explained everyone's relationship situation and history. J.T. paid Adam a visit and warned him to take a step back and look at everything going on at Newman "before he blows it." Adam went to Victoria and apologized. Victoria was annoyed that J.T. intervened. J.T. and Nick agreed that dinner together would be the best for everyone. Victoria resisted at first but relented in light of Adam's apology.
Heather told Paul her worries about her job situation. Paul tried to reassure her. Heather expressed her resentment at following Paul's suspicions about Jack instead of going with her own instincts. Paul suggested maybe it's time to do something different with her life. Heather got angry and said she likes what she's doing. Kevin told Paul he wanted to hire him to follow Jeff to see if Jeff was cheating on Gloria, possibly with a woman in Korea. Paul agreed. Paul went back to try to make amends with Heather. He encouraged her not to let her mistakes bother her so much. She questioned Paul giving her "fatherly advice," and dismissed him a second time. Later Heather apologized, but told him she's contemplating leaving Genoa City for good.
Gloria was dismayed that her and Jeff's latest attempt to drive Jack and Sharon from the house with their '70s stuff failed. Jeff told Gloria that sparring with her isn't fun anymore, and he's drawn up the divorce papers for them to split so he can "disappear." Later Gloria overheard Jeff calling his lawyer about his papers then heard him laugh out loud to himself. When the coast was clear, Jack and Sharon planted their spycam.
