Young and Restless Recaps

Y&R Week of May 17, 2010

Monday

At the prison, Phyllis relayed to Nick her plan to access Adam's cell phone records. Victor entered. Nick gave him a folder of work he had completed for Newman Enterprises. Victor would prefer Nick work on his defense. Phyllis piped in that Nick's defense is so important that she and Sharon have teamed up to help him. Victor didn't like that at all. "Stay out of his defense," he demanded. Phyllis refused. Nick asked his father and his wife to work together to get him out. Victor offered that Victoria will do Nick's work while he's in prison and walked out. "If he wasn't your father…" eyerolled Phyllis. She promised to work with Sharon AND Victor to get him out. They made a video for Summer of Nick singing a goodnight song to her, as another prisoner looked on with interest.

Victoria and Billy woke up in a hammock in Jamaica with raging hangovers. They lay there piecing together the events of their night and sat up in shock — we got married! The hotel delivered a fruit basket congratulating them on their wedding. "Oh my God," she gasped. "We ARE married!" Wait till his colleagues at Restless Style get a hold of this, fretted Billy. Everything was "fuzzy," but Billy recalled them looking into each other's eyes and promising to do the limbo together for the rest of their lives. "Do you love me, Billy?" asked Vicky. "Cause I sure as hell don't love you." She phoned a lawyer for annulment advice but Billy advised her to think about it. "Last night was fun. You were laughing. You were alive. Is that wrong?" They kissed. She asked her question again: "Do you love me?" "I'm in definite ‘like,'" Billy responded. "Is love really a deal breaker?"

Neil and Ashley ran into Tucker at the GCAC. Tucker asked for an answer from her on his offer to run Jabot. "Soon," she promised. Ash explained to Neil that she wanted to talk to Jack about it first, but he's been busy with the "Emily situation." Jack walked in and joined them. Neil exited. Ashley told Jack about Tucker's offer and he urged her to accept it. Jack launched into "we" can do this and "we" can do that at Jabot, but Ash cut him short: the contract stipulates that there can be no other Abbotts at Jabot besides her. Jack spit out a diatribe about how Tucker is just trying to stick it to him. Ash was insulted: "I am actually the perfect person do this job," she retorted. Jack excused himself to make a phone call.

Tucker found Neil at the bar and asked him to go over the Jabot contract. Neil was curious: Don't you have lawyers? Why hire Ashley to run it? What are you up to? Tucker said he values Neil's honesty and wants him to keep speaking his mind at Chancellor. Neil said he will — starting with keeping his eye on the Jabot deal.

Victoria and Billy suspended their argument when their cell phones both rang. Vicky's was her dad, asking her to come to work ASAP to pick up Nick's work load. "I'm in Jamaica," she said. Billy's was Jack, asking Billy to help him talk to Ashley about Jabot. "I'm in Jamaica," he explained. The newlyweds agreed that the best course of action was to go home and get an annulment. On the plane home, Billy ordered a drink for his "wife" and called her Mrs. Abbott. They flirted and Billy got Vicky to admit she is in "very strong 'like.'" Both agreed their real problem when they get home will be Victor and Jack.

Jack asked Ashley to wait to accept the deal until she talks to Billy. She refused: "I really need this, Jack." Jack made her promise to be careful and watch her back around Tucker. Ash found Tucker and accepted his job offer.

Devon and Malcolm discussed how he will have a college diploma in a few weeks and debated Lily's treatment options for her cancer. Malcolm regretted letting Neil get to him when they were arguing about Lily. Devon worried about earning a living while he pursues his music dreams. Malcolm offered Devon a job as his assistant. Neil entered, and ordered Malcolm to leave. He offered to help Devon find a job but he said he already has one — with Malcolm. "You can't count on him," pronounced Neil, suggesting a bartending gig at Indigo. No thanks, said Devon. "It's time I make up my own mind about Malcolm."

Victor and Jack traded barbs at the GCAC. Victor ordered Jack to tell his useless brother Billy to stay away from Victoria or he will "squash him like a bug."

Malcolm took a seat near Tucker at the GCAC. "I thought I made it clear I was done working with you," spit Malcolm. "I'll tell you when you're done. I think you've forgotten this isn't about just you," responded Tucker cryptically.

Jack and Victor ran into each other again at the airport. "Are you stalking me?" inquired Jack. More barbs, then Billy and Victoria spilled off the plane, laughing. "Dad?" gulped Vicky.

Tuesday

Kevin gave Jana the good news that she is well enough to go home. She felt nothing about that. Kevin said he realizes it will take time.

Emily ran into a former patient at Crimson Lights who yelled at Emily to stay away. Turns out the patient was treated by Patty in Emily's absence, and she almost swallowed a bottle of pills because of Patty posing Emily and offering bad advice as "therapy." "Refill, Mrs. Abbott?" asked the waitress. Don't call me that, snapped Emily. Kevin introduced himself to Emily, saying he knew Patty and that her victim Colleen was a friend of his. Emily apologized for his loss. Kevin relayed Jana's medical problems to Emily, asking for her help. "I would be glad to talk with you and your wife," she smiled. Kevin brought Emily back to Jana's room where he spoke excitedly about his many plans for her release. Jana stared blankly at them. Emily suggested Kevin's plans are too much for Jana right now. Jana wondered when she would feel things again. Emily advised Kevin to dial down his exclamations of love, but he said he won't apologize for loving Jana.

Tucker showed Ashley around her new office at Jabot as word came about a protest "by a bunch of hippies" in the lobby about Jabot using animal testing. "My name is Abby Newman," said the protest leader. "And I'd rather go naked than wear fur." Abby ripped open her coat as Tucker and Ashley arrived. Tucker told the cameras Jabot has never tested on animals, and asked them to excuse Miss Newman - she's a young rebellious kid. Ashley angrily dragged Abby up to her office and shared that she's the new CEO of Jabot. "Oh my God," gasped Abby. Ash advised her daughter to exit quietly through the loading dock, while Ash consults legal to try and fix it. Outside, Abby called a man named Kent asking him to meet her at Crimson Lights.

"This is the woman you were in Jamaica with?" asked Jack incredulously as Billy and Victoria got off the plane. "Is this your way of hitting me back?" said Victor to Billy, as Jack realized Victor was responsible for Billy's black eye. Vicky told Victor to "deal with it," while Jack ordered Billy to leave with him. "Did I raise you to end up with this obnoxious punk?" sneered Victor when they were alone. Vicky reminded Victor she is an adult and can make her own decisions, then stormed off. Victor started to leave the airport when he noticed a TV report about Abby being naked in the lobby of Jabot. What the…?

Jack told Billy his shiner would be the least of his worries with Victor if he keeps seeing Victoria. "Grow the hell up!" ordered Jack. Where the hell does Jack get off judging Billy's life? "At least I can tell the difference between my wives between the sheets," snarked Billy. "Get out of my sight," retorted Jack.

Victor stormed into Ashley's office asking what Abby could be thinking. Ashley said it's handled - she's the new CEO and she already spoke with Abby. Victor chastised Ashley for taking a new job when she should be focusing on Abby: "She just stripped on television, for God's sake!" Tucker entered and said he took care of Abby. "You've taken care of a lot lately," spit Victor. "I'll repay you in kind."

Reed asked JT when he will get to see Mommy. JT tried to explain the current situation, but the boy just colored sadly. Back home, Vicky opened her door to find Reed standing there with flowers. Thrilled, she scooped up the boy and thanked JT for bringing him by - but why is he being so nice to her? Reed misses his mommy, responded JT. Father and son left. Vicky called Michael's office inquiring about an annulment, then fingered the Jamaican hair beads in her pocket and said "Never mind." Alone at the CGAC, Billy ordered a bottle of water and stared at his Jamaica airline ticket.

Kevin brought Jana home. She picked up their wedding photo and recalled the Ashram. He brought out the Ouija board but she wasn't up to searching for answers. Jana asked to be left alone, so Kevin agreed to go up to Lauren and Michael's apartment for the night. He went to kiss her goodnight, but she pulled away.

Jack ran into Emily at the GCAC. He asked when she wants to come get her clothes but she said she doesn't want them - Patty ruined them for her. And now, because of "that woman," Emily has former employers who won't take her phone calls, and patients threatening to sue her. How could Jack not have seen what was right in front of him? Jack argued that a normal person would not jump to an evil twin conclusion, and said he knew something was wrong but tried desperately to find Emily in Patty. Jack kissed Emily, saying he won't give up on her. "I'll wait for you," he promised.

Abby met Kent at Crimson Lights and they watched the video of the scene at Jabot. Abby was gleeful at how psycho her mom looked dragging her away, and promised Kent he would have his money tomorrow. Kent went to print something as Abby literally jumped up and down for joy. Victor arrived and asked his daughter to join him on the patio. He said she got in way over her head, but the important thing is that she is taking responsibility for her actions. Abby lied that she had to fix her face, then met clandestinely with Kent to look at a photo of "The Naked Heiress." Abby remarked that with the pitch they have planned, they have everything they need now to make their reality show happen.

As Victor waited for Abby outside, Ashley called and said she agrees with Victor that Abby isn't mature enough to handle what they had planned - they should undo the arrangements. "I just hope she doesn't get too upset when she realizes we have changed our minds," rued Ashley. Victor assured his ex that they are doing the right thing.

Wednesday

Lauren had a nightmare that Sarah was in bed with her. "Did you miss me?" asked her doppelganger. She woke up screaming. Michael comforted her.

Kevin went home to find Jana had cut her hair. He pronounced it "cool," but wondered why she cut it. She thought a change might help. Kevin said she just needs time.

Cane made breakfast and gave Lily roses for their one-year anniversary. "Other couples wouldn't have made it," bragged Cane of their triumph over deportation, cancer, and twins on the way (thanks to Mac). But they soon argued again over Lily's refusal to extract the babies' stem cells to treat her cancer.

Billy had breakfast with Rafe, who shared that he is starting his own legal practice. Mac walked in and congratulated him. They discussed throwing a party. Victoria approached Billy: Can I speak to you? She yelled at Billy for spilling that they got married and snarked that she doesn't want a party. Billy set her straight - they were talking about Rafe's new law practice. Oops! Vicky repeated that she wants an annulment. "How could the best day of our lives be a mistake?" asked Billy. "A mistake is a red sock in a load of whites," responded Vicky. "This is a disaster." Mac walked over: "What's a disaster?" Um, my brother being arrested, stammered Vicky as she walked away. Mac reminded Billy that he's an Abbott and Vicky is a Newman and it could never work.

Abby exulted in all the hits she got on the video of her stripping down. A bunch of teenage girls approached, telling her they watched it. "I have fans!" squealed the misbehaving Newman to Kent.

Ashley and Victor watched the video of Abby and agreed she is "acting out." Abby entered, placing a hidden camera to capture the conversation and saying she was excited to be receiving the first payment of her inheritance from Brad's estate. Mom and Dad told Abby they have decided to withhold the money until she is more mature. They will reevaluate in a year, and give her a generous allowance in the meantime. Abby argued that she is not going to blow the money on shoes or crack. "I am a mogul - and I want my money now!" Abby went on to explain that she has a business plan to create a reality show, extolling "aspirational living" like Paris and Kim. "You intend to be the butt of late night jokes and be on the cover of tabloids?" sneered Victor. "Those stars turn into train wrecks," added Ashley. Only if they buy into their own hype, assured Abby. Her viewers will aspire to have Abby's life because she is rich and beautiful and has a social conscience, like with animal rights. That's what that little stunt was about? asked Ashley. There will be cameras capturing every waking moment, enthused the girl. "Ain't gonna happen," boomed Victor. He pays people to keep prying eyes AWAY from his family. Mom and Dad forbade Abby from doing a reality show and suggested she put her energy into her education. We know best, soothed Ashley. Abby blasted her parents, reminding them of all the lies, partners and moves they have put her through. "I need to grow up?" she yelled before storming out.

Michael and Lauren went to Crimson Lights, where they talked about how Sarah will always be a shadow over their lives. "I killed Sarah and I killed Sheila and our son is going to know that," rued Lauren. Michael thinks they need professional help to get through this terrible time. Privately, Michael and Kevin discussed how badly their wives are doing.

Lauren visited Jana, who confided that she cut her hair hoping Kevin will stop expecting her to be the old Jana. Well, Michael wants her to see a shrink, responded Lauren. She's jealous because at least Jana is coping. Lauren feels like she is spinning out of control. The two headed to Crimson Lights to meet their husbands. The four had an awkward conversation about Jana going back to work at the coffee house vs. going to work for Lauren at the boutique. She'll stay at the coffee house. Lauren said Jana needs space, and agreed to let Kevin stay on their couch indefinitely. Kevin confided his plan to make Jana fall in love with him all over again. He asked Jana out on a date; she accepted. Lauren told Michael she knows she needs help, especially after posing as Sarah to get info out of Patty. When did THAT happen? asked Michael. Lauren explained. "What a stupid idea," responded Michael, adding "We are going to exorcise Sarah from our lives forever."

Abby bounded into the GCAC with Kent close behind, demanding his money. She's an Abbott AND a Newman, and she'll get her money, Abby assured him. Abby joined Billy and Victoria in mid-argument about how badly VIctoria handled Mac. They chastised Abby for her naked stunt and advised her to think things through. "Like you did when you posed nude and dad had to buy all the magazines?" cracked Abby to Vicky. "I'm just saying don't act on impulse," counseled Vicky. "It always comes back to bite you in the end." Later, Victoria asked Billy if he has started the annulment proceedings. No - did you?

Abby is going to expose the family, fretted Victor. "Literally!" retorted Ash. They discussed all of Abby's loss, and Victor suggested Ashley quit Jabot to tend to her. "How much parenting have YOU done?" retorted Ash - and that does not include buying Abby a horse. They agreed to present a united front and Abby will forget all about this crazy idea.

Cane asked Mac to talk Lily into doing the stem cell treatment. Mac refused. She won't put the babies in danger.

Abby found Rafe and reminded him about all the terrible things her family did to his Aunt Estella, and how they never apologized. Let's show them they don't run the universe, urged Abby. "Be my lawyer!" Why? asked Rafe. So Abby can sue her parents for what's rightfully hers…

Thursday

Jill found Tucker at Crimson Lights arguing with someone on the phone about Newman. Problems? Nope, he insisted. Jill told Billy to dig around and find out who Tucker was arguing with. Billy refused, saying he's officially out of the digging-up-dirt-on-the-Newmans business. What on earth would possess him to say that? asked Jill. Billy dismissed his mom to meet with Rafe and explain his need for an annulment. "Who's the not-so-lucky bride?" queried Rafe. Victoria Newman! Billy explained their drunken beach wedding, then gushed about how beautiful and sweet Vicky is. Rafe doesn't think Billy sounds like a man who wants to end his marriage. Billy started trashing Vicky to convince Rafe that he does - plus what could be worse than having The Mustache for a father-in -law?

Victoria confessed to JT how much she misses Reed. She'll do anything he says to get Reed back into her life. She'll move off the ranch, quit her job, whatever he says, Please, can't they share custody? JT said the problem is Victor, and she'll never be rid of him or the chaos he brings to their lives. Reed is a Newman, Vicky retorted. JT can't erase that.

Nick and Victor were having a jailhouse visit when the creepy inmate who has been lurking around Nick taunted them about Adam. "You know that guy?" asked Nick. That's Frank Ellis, the man who forged Adam's diary, explained Victor. They have to get Nick out of there.

Michael yelled at Phyllis for involving Lauren in her scheme to get Patty to admit she helped Adam. "I'm not going to apologize because I asked my friend to help me," argued Phyllis. They met with Nick to discuss Adam's cell phone records. There were calls from pay phones at a restaurant and a bus stop, which means Adam might have had a second accomplice. All agreed to check out the pay phones, GCAC phone records and Adam's credit card receipts.

Sharon got emotional when she entered the room at the GCAC she shared with Adam. Victor arrived to help her retrieve her things — and possibly find a clue. Sharon cried about how hard it is to lose a child — even one like Adam. Victor embraced her, realizing it's been five years this month since Cassie died. He reminded her she has Faith now to help her through. Sharon found a parking ticket for a garage in Minneapolis during the time Adam said he was in Kansas visiting Hope's grave. Victor called the cemetery and was told Adam has never visited Hope's grave or the farm. Victor took the parking ticket to show it to "that pompous DA."

Jill joined Tucker and nosed around about what's bothering him. He said he can't afford whatever it is she wants from him and excused himself for a meeting with JT. Tucker asked JT to get dirt on a Newman business deal. JT bristled. Tucker reminded JT that he owes Tucker for helping him get full custody of Reed. What are you talking about? wondered JT. Tucker revealed that he called the judge to influence him. JT said Tucker has the wrong guy and excused himself. Jill watched. Tucker approached Jill, realizing he may need her. She let him "sweet talk" her into a truce.

Victoria visited Nick to discuss Newman business but he probed about what was bothering her. "My whole life is a catastrophe," she cried, outlining her fight with JT. How can she fight him? Nick suggested having JT tailed to see what kind of father he is when no one's watching.

Phyllis and Michael questioned people at the restaurant about Adam's phone call. It turned out that a female worker remembered seeing Adam with "another guy and his little boy" meeting about "something important." She said the kid gave Adam a hug and then Adam took off. Hmmm, said Phyllis.

Sharon and Victor handed over the parking ticket and asked the DA to trace Adam's movements. He pooh-poohed their finding, saying Adam named Nick as his attacker. "Listen carefully," threatened Victor, relaying how he will run the DA out of office. Sharon commented that Victor's attitude won't help Nick get out of jail.

JT let himself into Victoria's house and went on her computer. Billy burst in looking for Vicky. Each wondered what the other was doing there. They both left.

JT went back to Tucker and said he couldn't get the files off Victoria's computer. Tucker responded that if JT cant get the files, he can resign. JT worried that if he loses his job he might lose custody of Reed. Not Tucker's problem. Billy spied them and his curiosity was piqued, He asked his nosy mom to find out what's going between Tucker and the Newmans. "It would be my pleasure," smiled Jill.

Frank Ellis started punching Nick in prison. Meanwhile, at the GCAC, Phyllis, Michael, Victor and Sharon compared notes and agreed there was another accomplice. Victor left for Kansas, saying he'll be in touch. Michael's phone rang. What is it? asked his wives. "Nicholas has been attacked!"

Friday

Nick's wives raced to the jail to find he had not been hurt by Frank Ellis. The inmate just tried to stick him with a syringe full of saline.

Michael appealed to the DA to release Nick: He's not safe. Michael, Sharon and Phyllis updated Nick on the parking receipt they found and the restaurant worker who saw Adam. So, the accomplice got a message from Adam on February 25? Someone has to go to Minneapolis and check it out! Phyllis and Sharon agreed to do it. "So glad I won't be in that car," mused Michael.

Lily and Mac discussed her chemo and the babies. Lily was surprised to hear Cane went behind her back and asked Mac to convince her to do the treatment. Mac and Lily agreed that they can't risk the babies to do the stem cell trial.

Cane asked Liv to talk to Lily again. Liv responded that Lily and Mac are looking at the treatment with a mother's instinct, and told Cane she herself refused treatment when she had cancer. Cane and Liv approached Lily with a new clinical trial for treating her cancer that doesn't involve the babies — but she has to move to France. Lily agreed. Liv made a call and set it up, but Cane reminded them he can't go because of his deportation situation. Liv offered to accompany Lily to France for treatment. Mac promised to send pics of the babies as they grow. They all said a tearful good-bye. Cane stepped outside and made a phone call asking if he can sue Mac for the babies' amniotic fluid.

Michael confessed to Daniel he was nervous about his date with Jana — he has to make her fall in love with him all over again! "Two weeks ago, we were married to the world's greatest women," sighed Daniel. "I still am," retorted Kevin, adding that it's Daniel's own fault Amber left. Daniel did not appreciate Kevin relaying that he encouraged Amber to go. Daniel wasn't ready to be a dad! Kevin said sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the woman you love.

Lauren cried to Jana that she can't shake the memories of being trapped in the cage by Sarah. "Tell me she's gone?" begged Lauren. "She's gone," assured Jana. Lauren is terrified Sarah, Daisy and Ryder will come after them again. Lauren sobbed while Jana remained emotionless: It's the past. Jana fretted about her date with Kevin and how she feels nothing for him. Jana said she wishes she could trade places with Lauren and feel things. Face your fears, Jana advised Lauren.

Kent threatened to pull the plug on Abby's reality show. She reminded him she is an heiress and will figure something out. Abby spied Daniel and closed in, making him buy her a coffee and asking if he saw her on the news the other day. Daniel doesn't watch much TV, but he'll bite: Why was she on TV? Check her out on the Internet, bragged Abby. Daniel opened his computer and Jana walked in. "Ready for your date?" Daniel asked. As ready as she'll ever be… "Please be patient," Jana urged Kevin. As they went to leave, Ryder approached.

Michael secured Nick a bail hearing and he was released on $1 million bond. If Frank Ellis hadn't tried to hurt him, Nick would never have gotten out, remarked Michael. Michael phoned Phyllis with the good news, and Nick secured a driver to pick him up. Don't leave town, advised the DA. As he was being lead out, Nick eyed Ellis. "Why'd you do it?" queried Nick. "Ask Daddy!" cackled the prisoner.

Lauren dreamed again of Sarah taunting her and woke up screaming. She phoned Michael and asked him to meet her at Crimson Lights. Alone, Lauren started flipping out, but then she reminded herself that her tormentors are all gone.

Ryder told Kevin he plans to turn himself in, but wants to clear the air with Kevin first. Kevin spit that Ryder caused Jana's aneurysm. He apologized, saying he thought they were migraines. Ryder said he only had Daisy and Sarah in his life until he met Kevin and realized what family was. "That whole twin thing? What a joke," he fumed about Daisy, adding she just liked to hurt people. Abby entered and attacked Ryder, but Daniel pulled her off. Everyone knows Ryder rejected Abby, commented Daniel. She argued, saying she's just mad cause he duped her into unwittingly helping him with the cage scheme. Jana remembered that Ryder helped her and Lauren escape. Ryder said he hopes that by turning himself in, someday Kevin can forgive him.

Abby continued trying to sell herself to Daniel, who called her a spoiled brat. Does she think taking her clothes off on the Internet is something to be proud of? She's going to be "bigger than the Kardashians," Abby retorted. And she's going to do it for charity! So stripping down was all for the children? sneered Daniel. "I understand why your wife dumped you," snarked Abby. Daniel grabbed her and spanked her. Abby stormed out in a huff, running smack into Michael and Lauren. Lauren admitted she was anxious to be out, but Michael calmed her fears. They walked in to find Ryder with Kevin. Lauren started screaming.

Sharon and Phyllis arrived at the Minneapolis parking garage and decided to split up to cover more territory. The camera panned in on a poster of a mysterious man that read "MISSING." Sharon and Phyllis fanned out, then regrouped and lamented that their trip was a bust. Phyllis eyed the MISSING poster. "Oh my God," she exclaimed. "I know this guy!"
