Monday
Despite her lawyer's advice, Gloria wanted to donate half her fortune to charity. "Make it a priority," she ordered. "I don't want the money I'm donating to get in the wrong hands." Meanwhile, Jeffrey was telling his own lawyer to get half of his wife's money for a divorce settlement. Later, Gloria encountered Esther at the GCAC and tried to pump her for info on Jeff. Esther complained about his demands and revealed that Jeff was living in the guest wing and not in Jill's room.
Brad's poker game became more serious as the stakes got higher but David didn't back down. Skye continued her act that she was a novice at cards so a cocky David started betting big. Skye then countered with throwing a $50,000 personal check into the pot. "What's it going to be, Mr. Chow?" she challenged and David wrote out his own check. David showed he had a full house but Skye beat him with four of a kind and she claimed her winnings. After the players left, Brad flirted with Skye before she departed. An
ill-looking David told Brad that he didn't have the money to cover his check. Brad offered to lend David the money to cover his losses so Chow asked for $100k.
Victoria told her dad that she felt "completely undervalued" since Adam's arrival. Victor tried to assure that his daughter was important to Newman Enterprises but she huffed that Adam had Victor wrapped around his finger. Victor was offended and insisted that his judgments were merely business decisions but Victoria was unappeased. "I am finished with Newman Enterprises.... I quit," she announced and walked out. Sabrina arrived and Victor told her that Victoria resigned. Sabrina was afraid it was over her her but Victor explained that Adam was the reason. Sabrina tried to point
out that Adam is obnoxious but Victor defended his son.
With Esther out bowling and Katherine out for bridge night, Jeff and Jill found themselves alone at the Chancellor manse. He made them burgers and Jill kvetched about her aching feet. Gloria sneaked into the house in time to hear Jill's squeals of delight. "You are so busted," Gloria declared but was stunned to find Jeff simply massaging Jill's feet. After getting over her embarrassment, Gloria was surprised to learn that Jeff had already spoken to a lawyer about a divorce. "I can't do this anymore," Gloria sighed
and left. Jill said that Jeff obviously still loves his wife but he
disagreed and drew Jill into a smoldering kiss.
Nikki was surprised when Victoria showed up at her room. "I quit," Victoria revealed. "I'd like to come work with Jabot." That made Nikki very, very happy and she hired her daughter on the spot. After she left, David arrived and Nikki revealed that Victoria was coming to work at Jabot. David pretended to be thrilled about the news but a concerned look came over his face.
Skye met up with Adam and proudly announced her winnings. That seemed to turn Adam on and they passionately made out. After they had sex, Skye told a surprised Adam that David was the one who lost to her.
Tuesday
Nick got a text from Victoria asking him to meet her at Newman Enterprises. That left Phyllis to take a meeting with Adam on her own. Nick rushed over and was surprised to learn that his sister had quit. They jokingly suggested starting a chapter of Newman Anonymous for Victor's wayward kids. Nick predicted that it wouldn't be long until Adam would want to join.
While Adam was saying farewell to Skye, she noticed who his meeting was with. "Happy hunting" she smiled, then kissed him and left. During their meeting, Phyllis explained that Restless Style needed to move the Beauty of Nature ad, which upset him. He threatened to pull the ad if the layout was changed. Phyllis suggested that Adam check with Victoria before making such a decision.
Sabrina could tell Victor was upset about Victoria quitting the family biz. "It's a sad day when the son you didn't raise shows more promise than the two children that you did," he lamented. Sabrina explained that his kids will come back after they find their own paths. Neil interrupted them and, after Sabrina left, was surprised to hear from Victor that Victoria had left Newman. Neil visited Victoria and asked her to consider a sabbatical but she said she already accepted a job with Jabot. "I'll miss you a lot," Neil admitted and they hugged. After he left, Victoria took one last look at her office and walked out.
Jill overheard Gloria on a phone call, discussing her huge anonymous
donation to charity. But it was unclear just how much Jill really heard. Later she was unhappy to hear that Nikki had hired Victoria. Gloria wasn't thrilled when she heard Jill accept a lunch invitation from Jeff.
Colleen confided to Kevin that Adrian's book contains real names, which included Jana and her dad. Kevin became alarmed and urged her to convince Adrian not to let the book be published. Adrian arrived and Colleen said she was angry when she told him it was okay to use true identities in his novel. "I don't think you should publish your book," she advised but he said there was no way he could stop it without hurting his credibility. Colleen then went to her dad and showed him the advance copy of Adrian's book. "How bad is it?" he asked and she mentioned it was pretty bad.
Victor informed J.T. that, in light of Victoria's resignation, he was letting his son-in-law go. Victor said he had to be concerned for the security of his company but J.T. insisted he would never compromise his loyalty. Victor reconsidered and told J.T. to stay. After J.T. left, Nick tried to convince his dad to talk Victoria of leaving. Sabrina walked in and Victor refused Nick's request. He stormed out and Victor told Sabrina that "I'm falling in love with you more and more."
Brad made inroads with Jill by suggesting they revive the men's line (which was her baby years ago).... Gloria asked Jeff if he really wanted a divorce but they were interrupted by Jill.... Jana interviewed for the position of Sabrina's assistant at the art gallery.... Victoria arrived at Jabot and told an elated Nikki, "I'm all yours." ...Victor told Adam that he could have Victoria's office.
Wednesday
Adam seemed conflicted about moving into Victoria's office. He admitted to Victor that he felt bad for clashing with Victoria but Vic assured his son that he appreciated Adam's contribution to Newman. Victor then suggested that Adam move out to the ranch and he said he would "think about it."
Nikki gave Victoria a pep talk about working at Jabot. Jill, David and Brad welcomed their newest employee. Victoria suggested they tie in the Fresh Faces campaign with an eco-friendly product line. Nikki raved about the idea and exited with Victoria and David. Jill dissed Victoria's brainstorm to Brad and worried about Nikki working so closely with loved ones.
David proposed that Jabot sponsor the premiere of a romantic/thriller movie set in a rain forest. "I love it!" Nikki declared. Victoria suggested that Jabot donate a share of their profits to a green charity and an excited
Nikki made the project top priority. Nikki then pitched the whole idea in a meeting with Jill, who gave it high praise. After the meeting was adjourned, Brad planted doubts in Jill's mind and hoped that Nikki and David "have a backup plan."
Colleen told Jana that she was offered a work study position in a Shanghai gallery. Later, Jana timidly told Kevin that she was offered the position of assistant to the Newman art curator. Jana was relieved when Kevin was happy for her so she met with Sabrina and accepted the job. Jana asked what Victor Newman was like and Sabrina assured that he was reasonable and kind.
Lily came home from L.A. and admitted to Cane that she had been avoiding him because of her miscarriage. He suggested they get together to talk and she agreed. Later, Colleen showed up and announced she didn't want Adrian's book to be published. She also admitted that she gave Brad an advance copy of the book which will surely anger Adrian. Lily then met Cane at GCAC where she ran into Madam Chauvin. The ballet teacher comforted Lily over her miscarriage news. "You're very strong, just like your mama," Madam noted. Cane escorted Lily to a private suite so they could talk privately. They decided to simplify their relationship by just dating.
Victoria warned Brad that to avoid "any impropriety," she will not be using insider information from Newman. "I wouldn't expect anything less," Brad claimed not too convincingly.
Nikki was so impressed by David's business acumen that she announced, "I think we should be planning a big gorgeous wedding in four months." He was thrilled and he booked the Colonnade Room for an August wedding. Victoria entered and was less than thrilled to hear the news.
Brad overheard David betting on the horses. Brad called his bookie and urged him to convince David to make a 25k bet. Brad then suggested to David that they start an installment plan for paying back the loan. David agreed.
Adrian was infuriated when Colleen confessed to giving her dad the book. Adrian felt betrayed and headed out to talk to Brad. Colleen broke down in tears as Kevin watched. Meanwhile, Brad cracked open Adrian's book.
Thursday
Jack, Sharon, Nick and Phyllis got to work at Restless Style. Jack told Sharon that he hired a big-time publisher to come in as a consultant. She wasn't thrilled with the idea. Victoria showed up bearing treats and told Nick she felt a little awkward about working with her ex at Jabot. Then she revealed that Nikki and David have set a wedding date. Later, tensions flared when Sharon and Phyllis realized each had offered the same job to two different freelancers. Jack put an end to their bickering by suggesting they just hire both freelancers for the gig and publish the better writer.
Nikki confronted Victor (who shooed Sabrina away) to talk about Victoria, then demanded to know why he's pushed both their children away (and out of the family biz). Victor denied any wrongdoing; Nikki called him out on favoring Adam. Later, Nikki and David made plans for their honeymoon.
Kevin helped Jana post a "Help Wanted" sign up at Crimson Lights, where Michael and Colleen later arrived. Kev and his brother met out on the patio to discuss Korbel's book. Kevin said it was fairly accurate, but he didn't want the book published because it addressed Jana's nasty case. Michael said his hands were tied, but he'd try his best to stop the book from being published.
Adrian barged into Brad's office to retrieve his book, "Saved From the Ashes." He defended his actions when Brad blasted him for writing the book about his family. Brad suddenly changed his tune, asking Adrian to let him
at least read the entire thing before making a decision. Adrian didn't buy the routine, so Brad reluctantly handed it over.
Back at Restless Style, Jack arrived with Jamie Whitfield (the famed consultant) in tow, who scoffed at Phyllis' choice of garish typeface color (fuchsia!). Sharon, meanwhile, grinned with glee.
Adam ran into Nikki and David, who shot daggers at him and confronted him about Victoria's ousting. Adam flashed back to his prior conversation about Mr. Chow with Skye, then said he wasn't trying to hurt anybody by working at Newman. Nikki was miffed by Adam's smug behavior and stormed off; David quickly followed.
Michael enlisted Brad to help him keep Adrian's book from getting printed.... Daniel told Phyllis that Amber asked him to move in with her; Phyllis was leery, admitting she thinks Amber is "freaky." Daniel just grinned in response.
Snooty Jamie told Jack she's shocked by all the poor novice moves she's seen from his magazine production staff. After Jamie left, Phyllis and Sharon shared a moment bonding over their hatred of her meddling with their work.
Adrian gave Colleen an update on his meeting with Brad; she was surprised by her dad's reasonable behavior. Adrian chided her for giving him a copy of the book in the first place, but understood why she'd want to. Brad, meanwhile, showed Michael that he'd made a photocopy of the manuscript and wanted to sue for libel.
Sabrina was thrilled when Victor presented her with a vintage Barbie doll and she reminisced about her childhood. After, Victor called to check on a delivery scheduled to arrive at the gallery tomorrow.... After an encounter with Victoria, Adam phoned Victor to take him up on the offer to
move into the ranch.
Friday
"I wake up happy every morning now," Victor rhapsodized to Sabrina over breakfast. She scampered upstairs to change and Victor listened to Adam's voicemail accepting the invitation to move to the ranch. When Sabrina returned, Victor informed her that Adam was moving in. Victor could tell that it bugged Sabrina, but she assured, "I'm not going to disapprove." Victor called Adam and told him to, "come on home" immediately. Adam later arrived with his suitcases and Victor headed to the office. Sabrina and Adam were immediately uncomfortable with each other. They traded unpleasantries and Sabrina left. Adam was impressed by his new surroundings and happily plopped onto the sofa.
Brad ordered his bookie to lure David into make a big wager. After, Brad listened as Michael threatened Adrian's publisher, via phone, with a lawsuit for libel. Soon after, Adrian was peeved when he was told his promotional tour was canceled because his book was officially "on hold." He blamed Colleen and her dad for ruining his future as an author. While he made frantic calls to his publishers, Colleen met up with her dad. He was sorry to see his daughter in pain, but insisted he had to kill the book and she said she understood. "I'm gonna lose him," Colleen sobbed. She came home to find her boyfriend still bent out of shape so Colleen offered to give Adrian "time and space" by accepting the work program in China.
Michael told a relieved Kevin that Adrian's book was on hold.... Victoria assured her mother that she accepted Nikki and David's relationship but couldn't accord Victor and Sabrina the same understanding... Nikki suggested a ceasefire to Victor and he agreed... Brad reminded David it was time for his first payment for the loan. Later, the bookie called David with an enticing tip.... Sabrina tried to sit with Victoria at Crimson Lights, but she was called away to the gallery.... Daniel moved into Amber's penthouse
and they celebrated by getting hot and heavy on the sofa. After, they went to Crimson Lights and invited Kevin and Jana over for dinner.... Adam enjoyed telling Victoria that he now lives on the ranch.... Victor proposed to a shocked Sabrina.
