Monday
Traci, Jack and Ashley cleaned up after Colleen's memorial. They praised Billy's efforts in putting the funeral together. Ashley then got a call from the hospital saying that baby Faith could be taken home. She asked Traci to be the baby's godmother, and Traci eagerly agreed. Before Ashley left, Jack asked where things stood between her and Victor. Ashley replied that the man she loved wasn't the man she married. "So you'll bring Faith to our home?" Jack prodded. Ash asked him not to push her.
Sharon was surprised when Nick arrived at the Abbott cabin. He explained that he wanted to scatter their baby's ashes with her. They spread her ashes by the stream — and declared that they "did it right" this time, as opposed to letting the death push them apart. Sharon stated that she was ready to move on.
Paul visited Patty in the mental hospital. When he mentioned Colleen, Patty didn't remember who Colleen was ... and began talking about how she and Jack were just married. Paul realized that Patty still thought she was living in the '80s. He became emotional as the doctor confirmed that she might never come back to the present. After, Paul went to visit the Abbotts and apologized for missing Colleen's service; he regretted not having stopped Patty when he had the chance. Traci embraced him and told him that he's still a dear friend to her. Paul insisted that Patty didn't know what she was doing when she kidnapped Colleen and that his sister has lost her memory from the past 25 years. Traci was sympathetic, but Jack believed that Patty was putting on an act — and building an insanity defense.
At the Newman Ranch, Victoria was furious when she overheard Adam making a deal for Newman Enterprises. Michael arrived and Adam explained to them that he was preventing a deal from falling through. Victoria angrily reminded Adam that he doesn't work at Newman and implored Michael to investigate the deal that Adam made. Adam insisted that he was just trying to help them out. Victoria didn't buy it, and neither did Michael. "I know what I am doing," Adam stated. "I was not some yahoo that Victor plucked off the farm." He reminded her that he has more business experience than Nick and Victoria combined. Victoria was speechless for a moment, but then replied that she was still undoing the damage that Adam had done when he was at the company. Michael tried to intervene, but the siblings continued to exchange words. Victoria threatened to throw him out of the house, but Michael said that it was Victor's call. Victoria warned Adam that she'd be watching him.
At the hospital, Victor told Nikki that he was fine after suffering a seizure. The doctor assured her that if he's careful with his medication, it wouldn't happen again. Victor asked to see the baby. Nikki obliged, but when Ashley arrived, she was upset to see Nikki holding the infant. Nikki left, but before doing so, reminded Ashley that Victor is recovering from major heart surgery. Victor apologized to Ashley, but she was still upset. He explained that all he wanted to do was see their baby. Ashley admitted that she overreacted, but noted that he hasn't treated his son, Adam, well. She reminded him that Adam has been a wonderful friend to her and asked him to give his son a second chance. Victor wished he could help Ashley deal with Colleen's death. She concluded that he likes rescuing damsels in distress, and sadly said that Victor wasn't the hero she once thought he was. Victor stated that he loves her and always has. Ashley answered that he's always loved one person more than her — himself. "Our marriage is over," she said. "I'm filing for divorce." Victor was disappointed to hear this, but understood. She promised him that he'll still be a part of Faith's life.... Paul took Nikki to Crimson Lights so she could get a break from being in the hospital. He filled her in on his visit with Patty.
Jack visited Patty in the mental hospital. She was thrilled to see him and ran to hug him. "I've missed you," she cried. "You remember me?" he asked. "Of course," she replied. She then complained to him that their "honeymoon suite" — meaning her hospital cell — was drab. Jack realized how out of it she really was. After, he drowned his sorrows at the G.C.A.C. club.
Ashley brought Faith home to the ranch and happily greeted Adam.... Paul went to see Victor at the hospital, where Newman thanked him for bringing Nikki home. "I did it for Nikki," Paul said. He then told Victor that his sister isn't doing well. "The silver lining? She's forgotten that you've ever existed," he added before storming out..... Nick returned home and told Victoria that he spread his baby's ashes with Sharon. Having lost a child herself, Victoria was sympathetic. She told him about Adam finalizing a deal for Newman. Nick was furious.... Ashley informed Adam that she's getting a divorce from Victor, and that she wants to make the ranch her permanent home. She invited Adam to stay at the ranch with her and her daughters. He wasn't so sure, but Ashley had a feeling that things would turn around for him regarding his relationship with Victor.... Victor told Nikki that he and Ashley are ending their marriage.
Tuesday
Sharon called Jack and told him that she's still shaky from the death of her baby, but was able to get out of bed that day. Jack asked if she could meet with him. She met him at Brad's house and shared that she and Nick went their separate ways after spreading their baby's ashes. She noted that it was a relief to get through something awful as friends, and nothing more. She then thanked Jack for being such a great friend to her, as well. "I have been lucky to know two great men like you and Nick," she stated. Later, Jack asked if she wanted to move into Brad's house since Abby was too young to do so. Sharon eagerly accepted. After, Jack confided in her how upsetting it was to see Patty so messed up. Sharon told him not to blame himself for Patty's condition. She admitted that the therapy really did help her, and she'd even signed up for a bereavement group. Jack was proud of her. She urged him to let everything that's been bothering him go.
At the tack house, Phyllis and Summer planned to go to the Harvest Festival with Lauren and Michael. Phyllis invited Nick to join them, but understood if he wasn't up to it. As he watched Summer get ready, he decided to join them. Phyllis was thrilled.
At the festival, Kay awarded the prize for a pie to Pearl. Kay and Murphy celebrated along with her. Soon, the Baldwins and Newmans arrived with Fenmore and Summer. Phyllis munched on cotton candy, while she and Nick watched Summer enjoy her first fair. Nick became a little sad as he remembered going to fairs with Cassie, but was determined not to ruin the day for Summer. Phyllis was grateful to him and called Nick her hero. Lauren watched them from afar, and was glad to see Nick smiling.... Nick offered to tell Phyllis about his experience spreading the ashes, and she was ready to listen. "It was like a giant hole was ripped right through my chest," he shared. "But then after it was over, it felt like I had let go. We didn't turn back. We faced it head on. You know, it was the right thing to do. Like I told you earlier, I'm not gonna waste a single second. I'm not shutting
down, and I'm not shutting you out, because I want to make our kid smile like she is today every day." Phyllis suggested he make Summer smile by playing basketball and winning her a cow. He agreed ... but on the way, stepped in something gross. Kay, Murphy, Michael and Lauren chuckled at him, but Nick gave in and giggled along with them. Phyllis made it up to Nick by kissing him. Lauren and Phyllis agreed that they were both lucky to have their husbands, and vice versa. Later, Nick began to have a genuinely good time with his wife and their friends.
Billy and Mac went to the Abbott cabin. Mac wondered if it was too soon for him to be there since that was the last place Colleen had been alive, but he was ready to "make some new good times" with his girlfriend. Soon, Chloe and Chance arrived at the cabin. Neither couple was happy to see the other. Chloe became annoyed when Billy accused her of following him there. He said that Chloe wasn't even an Abbott anymore, but she reminded him that she is since they're not technically divorced. Mac was surprised to hear this, but Billy assured her that they're just waiting for "an official stamp thing." Chloe admitted that she hadn't signed the papers yet, upsetting everyone else in the room. Billy asked to speak with Chloe alone. She explained that she had a lot going on and just never got around to it.... Mac and Chance went outside as the others argued. Chance asked if Mac was okay with the divorce thing; she explained that she's not, but she accepted it. She was disappointed, however, that her time alone with Billy was interrupted by Chloe. They returned inside, where Billy and Chloe were continuing to hurl insults at each other.
Noah joined Sharon at Brad's house and she informed her son that she's going to rent it. She invited him to move in with her; he accepted, provided he gets to pick his room....Both Nick and Sharon looked hopeful as they anticipated moving on with their lives, respectively.... Jack returned home and said out loud that he's ready to let everything go. However, he looked agitated as he read a news story about Patty.... A woman was then shown reading the same paper — and when it panned to her face, she looked very much like Patty, but with dark hair and glasses.
Wednesday
Mac and Billy and Chloe and Chance attempted to co-exist at the Abbott cabin. Chloe suggested a game of Scrabble, with the winning team being allowed to remain in the cabin. "Game on, Short Stuff!" Billy agreed. As the game progressed, Chloe and Billy traded barbs. "Since you two already have your trailer park love shack, why don't you leave and let us finish our date?" Chloe snarked. Each team began creating words intended to dig on the other team. When Mac created the word "divorce" (as in Chloe should hurry up and sign the divorce papers), Billy exclaimed, "HA! Mark it down, Detective Do-Right!" After Billy teased Chloe and Chance about being up at the cabin for sex, Chance created the word "virgin" with his scrabble pieces. Billy couldn't believe it when he realized that Chance was actually a virgin. Billy began teasing the couple about it, and kept going until Chance shouted at him to cut it out. He informed Billy that he wanted more than just a meaningless one night stand. He announced that he respected Chloe for who she was ... as a mother and a person. "You slept with her and got her pregnant because you were bored, but I want more for her than that," Chance proclaimed. He and Chloe left the cabin. Mac was not impressed with Billy's antics.
Victoria and Nicholas arrived at the Ranch to find Adam calling for a car to take him to the hospital. They announced that Adam's "free ride on Victor's good graces" was ending immediately. They demanded an apology from Adam for meddling in Newman business. Adam denied any wrongdoing and stormed out. Nicholas left for the hospital too, in an attempt to thwart Adam's effort to reach their father. Adam reached the hospital first, and he immediately defended his actions to Victor. He implored his father to allow him to earn back the trust he had broken. Nick entered the room. "Please tell me you're not buying any of this," he snapped. Adam defended his actions, saying he thought he had been doing the right thing with the Newman deal. Victor stated that perhaps he should authorize Adam to make such deals, so that there would not be any confusion in the future. "You CANNOT be serious," Nick complained. Victor suggested putting Adam in a low-level position in which he would have to report to Nick and Victoria, and that one misstep would mean his firing. Adam announced that he would "do Newman proud" and left the room. Victoria arrived and was stunned to hear that Adam had been allowed back into the company. "I'm not giving him the keys to the kingdom," Victor explained. Adam envisioned Victor dying. In his vision, he and Nick argued over Adam's place in the family. "You'd better get used to me, Nick," Adam snarled. "Because I'm not going anywhere."
Deacon met with Amber in her suite at the Club and ordered her to pack her bags for "wherever she wanted to go" because he had the means to secure the Terroni without Daniel's involvement. Meanwhile, Jeffrey found Gloria downstairs in the restaurant and demanded to know what she was up to. She attempted to make Jeffrey go away by reassuring him that she held a "ticket to the big time" and that he should just trust her. She explained that by returning the painting to the museum it was stolen from, they could collect the $25,000 reward. Jeffrey didn't think $25K was exactly "big time", but he accepted that it was a sure thing and left. Deacon arrived to meet with Gloria, as Amber lurked around the corner and observed. When Amber realized what was going on, she hurried off to warn Daniel. At the coffeehouse, Daniel admitted to Kevin that he was a fool to have ever trusted Amber. He stated that all he wanted now was to return the painting to the museum where it belonged. Kevin went to get the painting from its hiding place, and discovered it was missing. Amber burst in and announced that they needed to hurry to the Club, as Gloria was about to give Deacon the Terroni. Kevin left for the Club, while Daniel stayed back and accused Amber of wanting to be with Deacon. She denied it, saying that she was only spying on him so that she and Daniel could be together. Daniel demanded that she prove herself by packing her bags and waiting for him at the coffeehouse. She said she would be there. "I love you, Daniel," she whispered to him as he was leaving. He admitted that he loved her too.
Back at the Club, Gloria threatened to turn the painting in to the museum unless Deacon came up with her share of the millions. Deacon agreed to let Gloria hang onto the painting until after his meeting with his buyer, but that he would first need to have it authenticated. He invited her up to his suite where he had an art expert waiting. Kevin arrived, but Gloria begged her son to trust her to handle the situation. Jeffrey overheard Gloria tell Kevin about the "millions" she would receive. Gloria made her way up to Deacon's suite where the art expert and Victoria were waiting. Deacon explained that Victoria had recommended him. The art expert declared that the painting was authentic. Deacon put the painting into a tube and handed it back to Gloria. Victoria was angry with Deacon for not turning the painting in to the museum. He claimed to be working with the police on capturing the corrupt art dealer who would purchase it. Daniel burst in and asked Victoria how she could be "in bed" with Deacon. "Let me ask you something ... what did he promise you in exchange for doing whatever he asked?" Daniel inquired. Victoria responded with a swift slap across his cheek, and left the room.
Downstairs, Gloria and Jeffrey reveled in her "victory." A suspicious Jeffrey wanted to know how much the "cut" was ... a cut of $25,000? Or millions? Caught, Gloria admitted that her cut would be millions, but that she wanted to surprise him. Jeffrey grabbed the tube and opened it. They were both shocked to see a cartoon clown on the canvas, instead of the Terroni. The words "You Lose" were painted across the clown's face.
Amber went to her room to pack up her things. She left a voicemail for Daniel telling him that she was packing up and would be meeting him at the coffeehouse. "You're all I've ever wanted," she said in the message. As she tried to leave the room, Deacon appeared and accused her of being in cahoots with Daniel.
Thursday
Devon and Roxanne had an awkward encounter at Indigo when she stopped by to give Lily a card (remember, poor Rox walked in on her boyfriend having sex with Tyra). "What we had before was everything to me," Devon declared. "You were my best friend. And I miss that. I miss you." Roxanne was unimpressed and reamed him for his betrayal. They agreed to at least be civil.
Nick grudgingly bestowed the title of junior vice president on Adam. "You report directly to me," Nick growled. Victoria revealed that Victor's death had been erroneously reported on the Internet. The sibs agreed that they had to spin their dad's recovery so their stockholders wouldn't lose confidence. Victoria departed for and errand and Nick issued Adam's first directive: Take notes during a meeting at Newman Enterprises.
Jeffrey and Gloria returned to Deacon's empty suite to search for the real Terroni. The bumbling Bardwells were then surprised by the arrival of the police, who had been summoned by Kevin, and arrested.
At Crimson Lights, Kevin, Michael and Jana were surprised when Victoria showed up with someone from the Sheffer Museum. She pointed to Daniel, who wasn't so surprised by their arrival, and announced he had the Terroni. It was then revealed that Victoria and Daniel had secretly conspired to get the real painting from Deacon. Daniel then presented the Terroni and explained that he had painted a second forgery and swapped it with the original right after it was retrieved from the safe deposit box. Victoria agreed to help him and convinced her art expert to falsely identify the forgery as the real deal. Phyllis arrived just in time to see her son called a hero and given a $25,000 reward. Daniel handed the check to Kevin so he could bail Ryder out of jail. The police showed up with Gloria and Jeff. Daniel lied they were part of the his plan and they were released.
After taking a few steps, Victor suddenly fell back into bed, unconscious, horrifying Nikki and Nick. Hospital personnel rushed in to work on him and brought him back. It was determined that he needed his transplant meds adjusted. Victor wanted to call his office but Nikki adamantly refused to allow it. "You're just a dictator," pronounced a bemused Vic.
Deacon dragged Amber to a meeting with a potential buyer for the Terroni outside of Indigo. The buyer scrutinized the art and proclaimed it was a fake. A shocked Deacon realized that Daniel made the switch and knew when to surrender. "Just go back to Daniel," Deacon conceded. He also admitted that he was really working for someone else and alluded that he was now in big
trouble.
At the stockholders meeting, Victoria assured everyone her father was doing well. Afterwards, Nick voiced his concern that his sister laid it on a little too thick about Victor's recovery. Later, Adam tattled to the S.E.C. about Newman's "chief executives" giving misinformation about their
C.E.O.'s health.
Daniel was thrilled when Amber returned to their apartment but assumed she only did because Deacon's big score fell through. She insisted she always wanted to be with Daniel. They kissed passionately and he carried her to their bed.... Lily and Cane visited the chapel to pay their respects to Colleen. Mr. and Mrs. Ashby reaffirmed their love by reciting their wedding vows.... Deacon tried to pick up Phyllis at Indigo where, upon hearing his name, she slapped him, theni ntroduced herself as Daniel's mother. "You keep away from my son or anybody remotely close to him," Phyllis warned and stormed off. Deacon then made this cryptic call: "There's been a complication. We need to move him to another place that's safe... Just protect my son."
Friday
Jack was pleased to catch Sharon in good spirits as she was moving into Brad's house. "It feels right here," smiled Sharon, who added that she was going to live her life differently, in honor of the baby she lost. She knows a lot more about grief than most people, observed Jack, as Sharon gazed at a drawing Cassie had made. "I'm doing it, girls," Sharon later said to herself.
At the hospital, Nikki and Victor were happy to hear he was doing so well that the doctor was considering a release date. "Talk to me," Victor urged Nikki about her time away. It was unsettling moving to Denver, but she came to enjoy it, said Nikki. She found peace, and that's still with her. Victor wanted to know if she was going back to Colorado. Nikki said she wasn't, but she wasn't sure what she would do. When she stopped by later, Victor had done some thinking. "You've been at my side all this time," he said. "I don't want you to leave."
Ashley was capable and confident settling in at the ranch with the baby. As she was making arrangements for Faith's christening, Ash got a call from a divorce lawyer. "I want to make sure my daughters get everything they're entitled to," she told him. Adam showed up and cradled Faith while Ashley took another call. "I screwed things up with your real mom," Adam admitted to Faith, then promised, "I'll always make things right for you. You can count on me." Jack walked in and ordered Adam to get away from Faith. Ashley stood up for Adam, but he left. "Try hard not to gloat," Ashley asked Jack, then informed him she'd told Victor she wanted a divorce. Jack couldn't stifle his delight, but was surprised to hear Ashley was planning to live at the ranch — and dismayed that Adam was welcome to stay, too. Faith has taken to Adam, Ashley explained. "Faith's taking to anything shiny," snorted Jack. "I'm not going to leave her alone with a switchblade." Ashley got a call from Nikki, asking if she could bring Faith to see Victor. Jack counseled her against it, but Ashley wouldn't use her daughter as leverage. "The war's over, and we all lost," she said. She has control of her life back, Ashley assured her brother, and left for the hospital.
Victoria met J.T. at the coffeehouse. He wanted to share some big news, but before he could deliver it, his wife got an emergency call from work and rushed out. J.T. tracked Victoria down at the office to tell her he wanted to interview for a job in New York — and if he got it, he wanted Victoria to move to New York with him. Victoria said she needed to stay in Genoa City. "We need this move if we have any chance of making it," said J.T. They were interrupted by a representative from the S.E.C., which had been tipped off by Adam. She has to deal with this, Victoria told a disgusted J.T., who called to set up the interview.
Nick interrupted Adam at Newman, and criticized his dealings with an intern. He'd do things the boss's way... for now, Adam told himself. Later, Victoria was impressed with a business analysis Adam had turned over quickly, then grateful when Adam offered to drop something at the house for Noah.
Worried that they hadn't been honest with the press about their father's health, Nick urged Victoria to clarify their rosy statement. Victoria didn't think it was necessary, and told Nick she was impressed with Adam's work. Nick was dubious, and went to the hospital to warn Victor about Adam. Victor got out of his hospital bed and said he wasn't worried — Adam would have to deal with him. Ashley arrived at the hospital with Faith and ran into Nick. "I'm so sorry," Ashley said, then asked Nick to still be part of Faith's life.
Adam dropped off Noah's package with Sharon, who invited him in. The two bonded over having made big mistakes. Adam's fake diary ended her marriage, Sharon gently reminded Adam. Seeing Victor on a gurney changed how he felt, said Adam: "I realized if I lost him, I would be nothing." Sharon said even though she had done terrible things, she'd been forgiven, but Adam thought it was too late for him. "Is there a point of no return?" he asked. Sharon urged him to make peace with Victor, and everything would fall into place. Easier said than done, sighed Adam. Victor forgave Nick for turning him into the feds, pointed out Sharon. Adam was intrigued — he hadn't known that Nick was the one who turned Victor in...
