Monday
At Crimson Lights, Amber and Daniel almost kissed, but they were interrupted when Liam called. Amber explained that Liam was overseas. Daniel suspected that she'd gotten someone to call and pretend to be Liam. Later, Daniel listened to Loveline with Dr. Drew on the radio; he got a call from a person called "Marina," who was really Amber. "Marina" went on about how her boyfriend "Herve" (really Daniel) was the love of her life and she wanted him back. Dr. Drew told her that they should break up. Amber begged them to help her get Daniel back.... Jana and Colleen listened to the broadcast at the coffeehouse. Colleen was annoyed when Jana stated that Amber and Daniel were meant for each other.
At the Chancellor Estate, Chloe snuggled with Rocco, much to the annoyance of Cane, Lily, Katherine and Jill. Chloe argued that Cane didn't treat her well. He called her unreasonable. Kay intervened and demanded that they decide for good whether they really wanted to stay married. Chloe then noted that Lily and Cane's "friendship" was more than that. Cane denied doing anything wrong, but Chloe replied that he and Lily were throwing their relationship in her face. "I didn't force him to have sex with me," she cried. Lily accused Chloe of being a liar and said that the baby deserved to have someone better than Chloe as a mother. Chloe began to cry. "That is so not cool," Rocco told Lily. Chloe insisted that she wouldn't be a danger to her child. Lily reminded her that she referred to her unborn child as "the little blob." Chloe went on that she missed out on having a mom and was looking forward to being one herself. Jill was still skeptical that Chloe had such a big change of heart. Chloe feared that her baby would become second to Lily and Cane's if they ended up having a child, but Cane vowed that wouldn't happen. Kay then asked Cane if he was planning to stay married to Chloe. Alone, Lily warned Cane that Chloe was trying to trap her. She planned to walk away, even though Cane begged Lily to stay. Lily apologized to Chloe for all the things she'd said about her and then left.
At Restless Style, Noah showed Nick and Sharon some new ideas for Restless Amber. Nick and Sharon were pleased with how seriously he was taking the internship. Sharon then questioned Nick's plan to write a tribute to Sabrina; he snapped at her. After she left, Noah defended his mom and informed Nick that Sharon was responsible for getting Victor to give Nick the credit to buy out Jack. Later, Nick apologized to Sharon for lashing out.
River came to see Michael and asked if he could come in. River then went on about how it was more than a coincidence that he ended up at Jana and Kevin's wedding. Michael wouldn't hear it and told his father to leave. Baldwin then got a call from work and had to head out. He again told River to leave, but his father refused to leave until they had a chance to talk.
Meanwhile, Gloria and Jeffrey ran into each other at Crimson Lights. She was annoyed with him for trying to partner with Jack behind her back, but Jeff reminded her that she'd have no chance of getting Jabot without his help.
Jana and Kevin wondered what they were up to.
Michael went to the coffeehouse and reported that River was in his apartment. Kevin told him to get rid of him and planned to help out, but Michael insisted on dealing with River himself. Meanwhile, Gloria went to Michael's place and was surprised to find River there. They reminisced about how they'd once hitched to San Francisco and fed a stray dog. Glo noted that she's no longer that person. River didn't think she'd changed; she replied that she had to protect herself after River bailed on them. They continued to remember the past and how they'd considered naming Michael "Free Spirit Baldwin." Glo admitted to sometimes wondering what her life would've been like had River stayed put. Later, Kevin informed Jeffrey that River was in town.... Michael went to his apartment, but quickly left when he saw his parents hanging out.
Cane sat drinking alone. Chloe wished him a good night, but he was cold toward her. She invited him to accompany her for her ultrasound; he agreed to go, but didn't show any emotion.... Lily called Colleen and told her that she wanted to go to New York with her for Daniel's show.... Dr. Drew continued to tell Amber that Daniel wasn't into her. Daniel turned off the radio and answered his door when he heard a knock. It was Colleen — who greeted him by removing her clothes.
Tuesday
Karen taught a women's self-defense course on the basketball court and used Neil as her "test subject," totally beating him up. Later, they had sex.
Neil invited Karen to return to Newman and to move in with him. She accepted.
Michael reported to Kevin that he walked in on Gloria and River. "It was like I was suddenly a little kid again and seeing what my childhood would've been like," he cracked, noting that his parents seemed into each other. Kevin encouraged Michael to let River say what he wanted to say so he'd leave town quickly.
Meanwhile at Michael's, Gloria and River awakened after having spent the night together — but not in that way! River thought it was amusing, but she was concerned about what Jeffrey would think and decided not to tell him what happened. Glo then reamed out River for having abandoned her and Michael all those years before. Michael soon arrived and was disgusted to find them together. They insisted that nothing had happened between them.
Michael wondered what Jeff would think; Glo implored her son to keep his mouth shut. After, Gloria returned home and lied to Jeff that she stayed at Lauren and Michael's to help care for Fen. He wondered why she hadn't called him, but she fibbed that her cell phone was turned off.
River finally got some time alone with his son. He filled in Michael on how he'd met Gloria and fell in love. River explained that he left because he "got caught up in something" and needed to run. Michael was angry and pointed out that River was putting his family in jeopardy and could get Michael thrown in jail for aiding and abetting a wanted murderer. He demanded that his father leave. Later, Michael told Kevin that he was glad River was out of his life.... River called Gloria and she agreed to see him before he left town. Glo lied to Jeffrey that it was Lauren asking her to watch Fen again. Jeff then met up with Michael and Kevin and learned that Lauren and Fen were out of town.
Nick showed Phyllis a letter he was writing for Victor, thanking him for helping him get Restless Style. He wished he could thank him in person, but figured this was the next best way since Victor refused to see him. Later, Nick went to the ranch to see if his father would see him. He persuaded the security guard to let him drop off a letter for Victor, but Victor just had the letter deposited on top of a huge pile of unopened mail.
Brad was arrested for his involvement with David Chow. He called Sharon to come to the station. They agreed that they miss their friendship.
After spending the night together, Daniel showed Colleen some nude sketches.
She was upset when she realized that a bunch of his sketches were of Amber, but he explained that he drew them before Amber cheated on him. Colleen then checked her voicemail and learned about Brad's arrest. She rushed to the station, but Brad assured her that it was all a misunderstanding and would be resolved. Instead, he wanted to talk about her life. She revealed that she's dating Daniel.... At the coffeehouse, Daniel told Kevin that he and Amber almost kissed. Daniel still didn't believe that her boyfriend "Liam" really existed. Kevin was afraid that Daniel would hurt Amber or Colleen, or both. Daniel compared Amber to a certain natural event. Later, Colleen returned to Daniel's to pick up her cell phone and say good-bye to him before he left for his exhibit. He asked her to be there for his opening and she accepted.
Jack found a letter to Nicholas from Sharon stuck in the couch, apologizing to Nick about everything that happened at Restless Style. A furious Jack went to the magazine office and showed Phyllis Sharon's letter. Phyllis didn't think it necessarily meant that anything was going on between Nick and Sharon, but Jack was suspicious that his wife felt the need to hide the note.... Sharon returned home from the station and noticed that the couch cushions had been moved. She panicked as she realized the letter was missing. She called Jack and they agreed that they needed to have a talk. "I have to get to the bottom of this," he told Phyllis. She planned to talk to Nick. They agreed to tell keep each other informed of Sharon and Nick's activities.... Nick stopped by Sharon's and asked if she was the reason Victor gave him the credit to buy Restless Style.
Wednesday
Jeffrey entered Michael's apartment and called for River and Gloria to show themselves. Meanwhile, Gloria met with River at a diner so she could say good-bye to him. He thought there was something between them, but she disagreed and again reminded him that he'd abandoned her. River was saddened when Gloria told him what life with Terrible Tom had been like and how it had driven Michael away as a teen. At Michael's, Jeff dug through River's backpack and found a receipt for the diner where his wife and River were. He soon arrived and found Glo with River. River was annoyed with Jeff for going through his things; Jeff asked River to step outside so he could beat him up. Glo and River assured Jeff that he had no reason to be jealous. He accused her of sleeping with River, but she denied it. He didn't believe it. They declared their love and agreed to stop lying to each other, but Jeff still feared that she'd get back together with River.
Jill went to Crimson Lights. Brad arrived and asked if she knew who'd turned him in to the Feds. Jill denied knowing and noted that she was being investigated, as well. Brad threatened to smear her on the stand if he went to trial, but Jill wasn't fazed.
Nikki was questioned by the Feds about David's gambling problem. Katherine stayed with her for moral support. Nikki shared that she hadn't known he was placing bets from Jabot until Brad filled her in. Nikki then told Kay about how Victor closed himself off from everyone and even fired the Newman Ranch staff. Nikki explained that she needed to warn him that people were starting to question what he'd been doing in Mexico. Kay suspected that Nikki wasn't telling her something about Victor in Mexico; Nikki flashed back to when she concluded that Victor killed Walter, but denied knowing anything. Kay found it hard to believe that Nikki merely had a hunch that Victor was alive. Nikki became angry when Kay continued to press her for details; Kay insisted that she was going to speak with Victor. Later, Kay went to the ranch and told the guard that the only way she'll leave is if Victor shot her. Vic agreed to let her come in. "I can see that you haven't dusted lately," she cracked. Victor wasn't amused. Kay went on about how Sabrina wouldn't want to see him living like this. "I thought you were stronger than this," she sighed, then warned him that everyone is asking questions about Mexico. He thanked her and she left.
Adam handed Cane his resumé and asked if Cane would consider hiring him for Jabot. Cane agreed to think about it. However, Nikki told Cane about Adam's reign of terror at Newman Enterprises.
At the Abbott manse, Nick thanked Sharon for speaking to Victor on his behalf. Sharon noted that she'd just asked for him to give Nick his job back at Newman, and wasn't responsible for Victor giving Nick the credit to purchase Restless Style. Jack soon arrived home and angrily told Nick that he'd found a letter Sharon wrote to Nick.
Daniel went to Restless Style to say good-bye to Phyllis before he left for his art exhibit. She was proud of him for accomplishing this, but asked if Amber was attending the show. He replied that Amber allegedly had a new boyfriend. Phyllis was thrilled when he reported that he'd invited Colleen. She promised to stay out of his love life. Later, Daniel admired a sketch he drew of Colleen and included it in his folder of sketches for the exhibit.
Nick arrived at the magazine and asked Phyllis if Jack had shown her Sharon's letter. Phyllis confirmed this and stated that she believed that Sharon still had feelings for Nick. He disagreed. Meanwhile, Jack asked Sharon why she'd hid the letter; she explained that she'd written it in order to keep things civil between her and Nick for Noah's sake. Jack wouldn't hear this and became angry. Sharon pointed out that he was friendly with his ex, Phyllis. Jack answered that he isn't writing secret letters to her. Sharon argued that she was just trying to support Nick; Jack noted that she's making him out to be the "bad guy." Sharon said that Jack was making too big a deal over the letter, but he kept going on about it. "Nick got the magazine. I got nothing. Feel bad for me — I can use a boost right now!" Jack yelled. Later, Phyllis and Jack forgave Nick and Sharon, respectively.
Kay convinced Cane to not hire Adam. After, Kay informed Nikki that she'd managed to get into the ranch, but was unable to get through to Victor....
Cane told Jill that he wants her to respect his decisions as CEO. She encouraged him to follow his instincts.... Adam informed Brad that Nikki was speaking about him to the SEC.
Thursday
Nikki agreed with Nick that she needed to find a job so she could lose herself in work. They encountered Adam, who raged at Nikki for badmouthing him to Cane. "You ever speak to my mother like that again, and I will break you in half," Nick threatened and stormed away with Nikki. Heather tried to calm Adam but he was riled that he couldn't find a job because he has been obviously blacklisted. A call from a firm that declined his resume because of a bad recommendation from Newman Enterprises didn't help Adam's mood.
A guilt-ridden Sharon listened as Jack complained about Victor funding Nick's buyout of Restless Style. "Victor saw an opportunity to stick it to me and he jumped at it," Jack groused and started to get worked up about the Black Knight. Sharon finally confessed her part. "I was trying to help you," she explained. "I asked Victor if he would hire Nick, because I thought that maybe if Nick had a job, he wouldn't lose face and he would just sell us the magazine. I never dreamed that Victor would end up giving him the money to back the takeover." Her initial secrecy had Jack wondering, "What else you don't want me to know?" Eventually, Jack angrily blamed Victor for his woes.
Phyllis suggested to Nick that they put a hard-partying-now-sober "celebutante" on the next cover but he didn't like it. Nick pitched a new Italian designer instead but Phyllis worried that featuring an unknown would surely bust the magazine. She wanted to still include some gossip with the glamour, but he adamantly refused. An eavesdropping Nikki suggested that they blend both ideas and feature a sexy model wearing the up-and-coming designer's clothes, but still include an article about the celebutante's stint in rehab. Both Phyllis and Nick liked the idea, especially when Nikki said she might be able to get a supermodel friend to step in as the cover girl. After Nikki departed, Phyllis proposed to Nick that they hire his mom as interim editor-in-chief and he agreed.
A depressed Amber lamented about her "screwed up" life to Jana, then was buoyed when Liam called — that is, until he backed out of going to Daniel's showing. Amber wanted to bag going too and got even more depressed when Colleen showed up and announced she was attending the showing as Daniel's date. Amber went off on Daniel for intentionally hurting her. "You just slid the next female into the girlfriend slot," she whined and Daniel said he was just moving on. After, Jana advised Amber to forget Daniel.
A bitter Brad sniped at Nikki over her meeting with the SEC but she blasted him for feeding David's gambling addiction.... In trying to see his dad, Adam tried to muscle his way past Victor's security guard but was handcuffed, arrested and led away. In a holding cell, a scary guy asked if he is "Victor Newman's brat," but Adam insisted his name is Adam Wilson.... Brad urged Heather to find Walter Palin to get to the bottom of the David Chow scandal.... Nikki was shocked when Nick and Phyllis offered her the editor-in-chief post... Daniel told Amber that it would mean a lot to him that she still attend his showing. She countered with, "Go to hell," which she immediately regretted.... Jack showed up at the Newman ranch and demanded to see Victor. When security refused, Jack handed the guard an envelope to deliver with this message: "Come out and face me, you coward, or I will release these to the tabloids immediately." The guard returned and urged Jack to go but he had a feeling Victor "may change his mind about seeing me."
Friday
At the Newman ranch, Jack handed one of Victor's guards an envelope full of photos of Sabrina in the car crash. Jack tried to use them to lure Victor out of hiding and threatened to send them to a tabloid if Vic didn't come out and face him. Victor didn't take the bait and simply had the guard return the photos.
Heather visited Adam in jail and was horrified to see him beat up. Adam explained that he ended up in a fight with one of Victor's guards when he went to see his dad. He pleaded with Heather to get him out of jail. Later, Jack arrived to bail him out. Adam didn't agree with Jack showing Victor the photos. Jack explained that he wasn't really intending to do anything with them and just wanted to provoke a reaction from Victor. He decided that with Victor shutting himself in, it would be the perfect time to take advantage of his rival. Jack told Adam that he wants to go to Restless Style's biggest competitor and pitch a story about Victor, concentrating on what Newman did in Mexico. Jack planned to go to Mexico to investigate. Adam decided to join him.
At Restless Style, Nikki admired one of the photos in the magazine. She then questioned why Phyllis wanted her to be the editor-in-chief of the mag.
Phyllis replied that they'd worked well together when they did NVP before Victor became involved. Nikki agreed that she enjoyed working with Phyllis.
Phyllis reminded Nikki how important the next issue was since Nick was so eager to show Victor that Vic did the right thing by sending him the credit to buy the magazine.
In New York, Daniel looked around his exhibit and was pleased with the results. He feared that no one would attend his opening, but Kenneth, the gallery owner, assured him that they would. Ken then admired one of the drawings of Amber and asked if she'd be at the show. Daniel didn't think she would be there. Soon, Lily and Colleen arrived and Coll noticed that he'd included a drawing of her. Colleen told Lily that she believed this meant that Daniel was into her and not Amber. Lily still feared that Colleen would get hurt by Daniel. Later, Amber arrived clad in a sparkly, blue cocktail dress. Colleen quickly let her know that not every picture was of her. Daniel was surprised to see Amber there, but ultimately glad that she'd decided to come. They then reminisced about what they'd done on the days he'd sketched certain drawings of her. He hoped they could be friends, but he wanted to move on with Colleen. A disappointed Amber broke down in tears and planned to leave. Daniel returned to the main part of the gallery and learned that one of his drawings had been purchased.... Amber was thrilled when Liam arrived and gleefully introduced him to everyone. "Billy Abbott?" a shocked Daniel stated.
Michael and Lauren were questioned by an FBI agent regarding River's whereabouts. Michael lied that he hadn't been in contact with his father and let him and another agent search their home. After they left, Lauren freaked out. Later, Michael found River at the diner and warned him that the Feds were on his trail. Lauren joined them and introduced River to Fen. After, Michael assured River that he didn't hate him.... Outside of the diner, a female cop made a call reporting that she'd spotted River. Michael and Lauren left the diner and then River was placed under arrest.
