Monday
At the Chancellor mansion, Katherine bristled at everyone hovering over her. Chloe assumed her argument with Heather at Chance's funeral upset Kay and caused her to faint. Kay assured that her health scare was due to exhaustion and dehydration.
Nina was distraught to hear that Chance will be living in a new town and under a new identity while in the Secret Witness Program until convictions of members of the international drug ring can be obtained. Nina asked how long that will take and Christine answered that it could be years. Nina balked but Chris pointed out, "If anyone in the drug ring finds out about Chance, we will be going to his funeral for real next time." Chance, Ronan and Chris detailed how special effects were used to fake Chance getting shot and that the paramedics who arrived to pronounce him dead were FBI agents. Ronan noted that Nina was never supposed to show up to witness the shooting and Chance admitted that it took extreme willpower not to get up at that moment to prove to his mom that he was fine. Nina then told Ronan that shedidn't want to lose him, too, but he explained that he must leave town for his next undercover assignment. Nina asked about Ronan's childhood and he assured he was raised by loving parents. He also adm tted that he had found out that Nina is his birth mother when the FBI did a background check on him before accepting him. Nina's book, Ronan said, filled in the rest of the blanks for him. Chris announced it was time for Chance to leave so Nina and Phillip bid their emotional farewells. Ronan was a even little broken up when Nina hugged him, then he drove away with Chance.
Nikki was about to take a swig of booze when Victor suddenly arrived. He observed that Nikki seemed on edge but she brushed it off as concern about Kay. Still, Victor sensed that there was something more to her agitation. He learned that Heather had been appointed interim D.A. and headed out. Nikki summoned Paul and confessed that she is fighting the overwhelming urge to drink but can't understand why it's flared up so aggressively. Paul offered his support and told her to call him day or night for any help.
Skye ordered Adam to get ready for an interview with a journalist and photographer. Adam refused so Skye threatened to blab to the police how he helped Patty escape. Later, Skye met with the reporter and Adam eventually joined them.
Victor visited Heather and urged her, as D.A., to reopen Adam's case. When Heather explained her focus is on prosecuting Owen and his mob connections, Victor offered to bankroll Heather's election bid for D.A. "In return, you promise me, if elected, you will go after Adam Wilson Newman with everything you have got," Vic pitched.
A sympathetic Jill advised Chloe not to let the anger over Chance's death consume her.... Kay worried to Murphy that Nina and Chris may never be friends again.... Nina and Phillip returned with Chris to the Chancellor estate, where everyone there was concerned for the supposedly bereaved parents. "Your son was a wonderful man," Kay lamented. "And we're all so sorry he's gone." Nina sighed as she now began her part in perpetrating the hoax of Chance's death.
Tuesday
Billy and Victoria had a full house with Summer, Delia and Reed, while Mac and J.T enjoyed some quiet time at home. J.T thanked her for being there for Reed. Mac replied that hanging out with the little boy is the best time of her day, but she's not trying to take Victoria's place. J.T assured her that she'd be an amazing mom. "Until then, Reed is enough," she shrugged. J.T later said that he wants Mac to have a baby with him and she accepted. She was eager to get pregnant that night! J.T was more than willing to hit the sheets; they slowly undressed each other on the couch. Later, Mac craved pizza and was certain that she was indeed preggers. "Practice makes perfect," J.T smiled and kissed her.
Billy, Victoria and the kids played "shoot out" with water guns. Victoria stepped away when she smelled her homemade cookies burning. She soon returned to the living room with charred, flaming cookies and everyone laughed. Later, Billy encouraged Victoria to accept Tucker's job, but she didn't want to take the position just to stick it to her dad. "Tucker is too unpredictable," she added. Billy joked that she could open up a bakery instead, then noted that being a full-time mom is a worthy job. Victoria replied that she's not a stay-at-home mom and wants to work. "I love our children," she assured him, "but I love business." Billy promised to support her, no matter what she ends up doing. They discussed job possibilities and joked about teaming up with Abby to be the stars of a reality show. After the children were in bed, they smooched on the couch, but were interrupted when the kids called for them.
Meanwhile, Nick and Sharon had a good time spending time with Faith at home. Nick declared their daughter to be a genius. Sharon questioned Nick about the "blonde" that he'd made out with at Jimmy's. He replied that she was "a really nice woman" and that it had just been a bad night. Just then, someone knocked on the door: it was Noah, home from France! They asked how Eden was doing and he shared that they broke up. Noah then joked about using Faith as a babe magnet. Sharon asked if he's home for good and he said that he's staying put, at least for the time being.
Jack met up with Phyllis at the G.C.A.C where they kept an eye on Adam and Skye. They said a not-so-cordial hello and Skye informed Jack that their hedge fund was going well. Phyllis was surprised to hear that Jack had invested with them and was curious what his angle is. Jack evaded the question and asked what's going on in her life. She noted that her blog is doing well and that someone even made a Web site in her honor. Jack stated that "the old Red" is back. They flirted for a moment and he asked if she wanted to get a room at the club. Phyllis turned him down, explaining that she'd be doing it to get back at Nick. "You like me too much to have sex with me?" a confused Jack asked. "I love you," Phyllis answered. "I love you, too, Red," he smiled. "But I love you this much more when you're not so damn reasonable." Later, they discussed Skye and Phyllis called her "deranged" for being married to Adam. Phyllis then admitted that she'd been tempted to sleep with Jack and assured him that he still has his mojo.
In their suite, Skye told Adam that there's an article coming out about their fund which would make them more legit. She thought that Adam should thank her, but he wasn't so eager to. He circled his hands around her neck and squeezed just a little too tight; he then warned her not to push him or he might just snap. After, Skye declared her love for him, but he didn't buy it. "You love my name," he clarified. Later, Jack approached Skye at the bar and asked what she was doing with Adam. "You deserve a lot more," Jack told her. "You're gorgeous, intelligent, ambitious ... Adam is a loser." Skye explained that she was trying to get her mind off of Adam. "I wish I could help," Jack teased. They went upstairs to a suite and jumped into bed together.
Noah went to Crimson Lights and ran into Phyllis, who was thrilled to see him. Nick, Sharon and Faith followed, making things awkward. Adam then arrived and taunted her about being alone. Phyllis countered by pointing out Nick and Sharon's family tableau. Adam returned to the club and found Jack and Skye in bed together.
As Phyllis blogged about the value of pride and what it can make you do, a montage followed featuring Nick, Sharon, Noah and Faith looking happy together, Adam giving Skye the cold shoulder and Jack leaving the club.
Wednesday
As Nina and Phillip were packing up Chance's belongings, she felt bad about playing the grieving parents. Phillip reminded her how important it was to their son's safety that they maintain the ruse.... Ashley asked Tucker how Katherine is doing and he said he didn't know because he was shut out by Murphy at the hospital. Ash urged him not give up.... Chris visited Katherine, who shared how much she hurts over Chance's death. A guilt-ridden Chris suggested they take a walk on the estate.... Lily urged Cane to get to work on Tucker's biofuel project in order to keep his immigration status intact. Cane assured her that Sofia spoke to officials about the delay and that everything was fine. Meanwhile, Neil informed Sofia that the project was now "a go."
Phillip again warned Cane that those nefarious Aussies are still gunning for him. Cane insisted he doesn't have to go back to Australia yet. However, Neil appeared and announced that Cane would be headed Down Under today. When Cane objected, Neil asked if "the men in Australia" were still an issue but his son-in-law lied that he didn't want to leave Lily on her own with the twins. Neil offered to help out his daughter and insisted Cane be on Tucker's private jet in two hours.
Lily went to the Chancellor estate with the twins and Nina was happy to interact with them. The visit was cut short when Cane called Lily with the news that he's leaving for Australia right away. After Lily left, Kay returned from her walk with Chris and Nina noticed that La Chancellor seemed much more at peace. "You told her, didn't you?" Nina asked after Kay left the room. Before Chris could answer, they were interrupted by Paul so she made a hasty exit. Paul suggested that he and Nina go out and do something, but she told him she wanted them to take a break from each other.
Cane informed Sofia that he couldn't go on the business trip. "If you don't put your butt on that jet and go to Australia, you're gonna be right back on that deportation list," Sofia warned. Cane finally admitted that the men he put in jail are still a huge threat to him. He fretted that if he's seen there, they could follow him back. Sofia suggested they fly to Australia so he can get his passport stamped, have the meeting on the plane, then take off after the contracts are signed. Cane will never have to step off the plane. A relieved Cane agreed to her plan.
Kevin was able to make a depressed Chloe smile. She felt bad for being such a "Debbie Downer" but Kev urged her to take her time grieving.... Chris lamented to Phillip that even though Chance is alive, Nina will still not forgive her. Phillip advised her not to underestimate his ex-wife since she forgave him.... Cane said good-bye to Lily and the babies and left for his business trip.... Tucker tried to visit Katherine but was stonewalled by
Murphy again. Kay showed up and pointed out that her son didn't visit her at the hospital. Murphy admitted that he had stopped Tucker so Kay declared that it was time they all started trusting each other.... Lily received a delivery of steaks, with an anonymous card that read: A taste of Down Under. She assumed Cane sent the gift.... Paul told Phillip that Nina dumped him.... Nina once again asked Chris if she told Kay that Chance is still alive but Chris claimed that was confidential info. "Stop denying," Nina insisted. "Just shut up and let me say thank you."
Thursday
Heather received the recording from the wire Chance wore on the night he died. She was hesitant to listen since it meant also hearing the last moments of his life. Paul urged his daughter to take some time off for herself but she pointed out that reopening Owen's cases wouldn't allow that. Heather noted the only bright spot is that she may be able to retry Adam, which Victor is pushing for. Paul warned his daughter to be wary of Victor's help.
At the ranch, Nikki was distracted and irritable with Meggie, who took secret glee in knowing it was because her boss was jonesing for booze. Later, Nikki started drinking... Skye was surprised that Adam didn't seem jealous that she was bedded by Jack. Adam insisted he didn't care and left.... Sofia and Cane landed in Australia and prepared for their business meeting that would take place in the parked jet. Cane tried to call Lily but kept getting iffy reception.... Victor instructed Nick to keep on top of Heather about going after Adam.
Both Malcolm and Neil showed up to help out with the twins, so Lily took a bath. Mal told his brother that he was looking forward to spending time in Miami while Sofia and Neil are working there on a McCall/Chancellor joint project. Neil said he didn't want Malcolm distracting Sofia. Neil grilled the steaks that Lily assumed were sent by Cane and the trio then dined, though Malcolm thought the meat smelled "different."
At the G.C.A.C., Jack taunted Adam about his wife turning to another man for attention. Victor sidled over and enjoyed informing his son that he may still go on trial. A rattled Adam left so Victor and Jack talked about how they'll ultimately destabilize the Newman hedge fund. Skye flitted nearby and Victor de uced that his cohort is sleeping with her. Vic warned Jack not to let his libido ruin their grand scheme. Jack approached Skye, who voiced her suspicions upon seeing Jack and Victor huddled together. Jack fibbed that they were discussing Abby and her fight for her trust fund. Skye then invited Jack to her room.
Adam charged into Heather's office and accused her of having a personal vendetta against him. "People like you and Owen think that you can twist the rules and get away with it," Heather fumed. "Meanwhile, a good, decent man like Chance ends up with a bullet in his chest." Adam softened when he realized that Heather and Chance were more than friends and offered his condolences. Nick arrived so Adam left. Nick then offered Heather the full support of the Newman family if she reopens Adam's case.
At the club, Meggie eavesdropped as Paul reported to Victor that a
background check on her came out clean. Paul then warned Victor not to "decimate" Heather like he did Patty. Victor assured he wouldn't but Paul, thinking of Nikki, suggested that Vic make sure his own home is in order. Victor became peeved by Paul's advice.
Jack and Skye entered her room to find Adam waiting. He asked to speak to his wife so Jack left. Adam proposed that they stop fighting so they can work together but Skye accused her husband of trying to con her. "I am the one calling the shots, and I am the one in control," she stressed; Adam wished she was really dead. Jack was in the hallway, listening to them through the door.
During his flight home, Cane tried calling Lily several times. She finally answered and explained she had been sound asleep. Lily was surprised when Neil and Malcolm returned and Cane said he called them when he couldn't reach her. Lily was unaware that someone was taking photos of her.
Nick explained to Victor that Heather may be too frazzled to do the job as D.A.... Meggie returned to the ranch and could tell Nikki, who staggered upstairs to lie down, had been drinking... Heather broke down in sobs after listening to the audio tape of Chance getting shot. Paul showed up and comforted her.... Victor came home to find Meggie packed and heading over to a hotel. She admitted to overhearing about Paul's background check and assumed Victor wasn't happy with her. Vic assured that he was okay with the results of the investigation and urged her to stay so she agreed. Nikki came downstairs in time to see Victor hugging Meggie.
Friday
Billy was desperate to find a great cover story for Restless Style. Right on
cue, Skye entered his office and offered to be on his cover, as a force in
the world of high finance. Billy was intrigued but insisted he could print
anything he finds on Skye and she agreed. Billy wanted to shoot the cover
right away and schedule the interview later.
Heather was upset to learn that the FBI suspended many of her staff members.
She angrily called Christine who came in to explain, “The suspended
employees were involved in cases that Owen may have thrown, and until the
bureau can finish the investigation, you're gonna have to work without
them.” Heather wanted to meet the agent in charge and Chris said it was
Ronan. Heather refused to work with the man who killed Chance but Ronan
showed up. Chris explained Ronan knows how the drug rings works and advised
Heather to find a way to work with him.
Tucker fired Jack for not being able to deliver Beauty Of Nature. Jack
reminded Tucker that it would take time but Tucker said Abby dropping the
lawsuit against Victor ruined Jack's strategy. However, Jack assured he will
be able to convince his niece to change her mind.
Abby was shocked when Victor presented her with a huge check from her trust fund.
She was peeved that before she could cash a check, she had to sign a
document that stipulated she couldn't ask for anymore money from her trust
fund until she's 30, plus she must work at Newman Enterprises. She refused
and Victor warned that he won't be so generous next time.
Victoria showed up at Restless Style and learned that Billy was featuring
Skye on the next cover. Victoria griped that her husband always seems to be
reporting on a Newman. When she worried what her dad would think, Billy said
she sounded like the old Victoria. She agreed and apologized.
Skye announced to Adam that she's going to be the cover girl for Restless
Style. He thought it was a bad idea until Billy showed up with the details
on the photo shoot. Adam suggested the cover feature both he and Skye as the
new power couple but Billy turned down the offer.
Heather explained to Victor that she couldn't find any proof that Owen
mishandled Adam's case. Victor suggested they find something to use against
Skye so she would turn against Adam.
Abby recounted the check fiasco to Jack, who agreed that Victor was
disrespecting her. Abby wondered if she should go through with her lawsuit
after all. Jack encouraged her to but she wanted him to first find something
would ensure she'd win. Afterward, Tucker warned Jack he’d better act fast
with Abby.
Nikki was disappointed that Victor was too busy to have lunch with her.
Meggie offered to keep Nikki company. Nikki told Meggie to go back to the
ranch without her, then ordered a ginger ale. Later, Nikki went to an AA
meeting — which was being chaired by Deacon.
After finding out Skye's cover, Victor tried to track down Billy and
encountered Victoria instead. She basically told him to mind his own
business; Victor objected to her attitude. They started to argue
intensely and Victor demanded that Victoria come home with him. She refused
and after he stormed away, began to experience abdominal pains.
