Monday
At Newman Enterprises, Adam sat alone and sulked. Neil arrived and asked
what he was doing there. "Doing my job," Adam replied. Neil noted that Adam
was crazy since he was acting as if nothing had changed and he hadn't been
kicked out of Newman. "Actually, I think nothing has," Adam replied,
explaining that Victor wasn't in his right mind since he was so overwhelmed
by everything that had happened in Mexico. "Did you eat denial for
breakfast?" Neil asked. Adam wanted to work for Neil, hoping there would be
"no hard feelings." "You fired me!" Neil shot back. J.T. soon joined them
and Neil asked him to escort Adam out of the building. Later, Neil and J.T.
discussed how different Victor seemed.
Meanwhile, at the Newman Ranch, a relieved Victoria and Nick happily greeted
their back-from-the-dead father. Victoria and Nick hoped they and Victor
could start over, but Victor wasn't prepared to open up to either of them.
Nick called his father selfish and was furious with him for seeing Adam
before he saw them. "Sorry you're disappointed," was all Victor said,
shutting them out. His kids were shocked. They then ran into Adam, who was
packing up his things at the ranch. The siblings exchanged words; Vicky
stated that Adam didn't care about Victor or the company. Victor joined them
and told them to all leave the house. Later, Victoria informed Nikki that
Victor was home, but had thrown them all out of the ranch. They were
concerned about him being so cold and detached.
At Restless Style, Phyllis reported to Sharon and Jack that Victor was home.
Jack wanted to get the details on Victor's disappearance. After Sharon left
to tell Noah the good news about his grandfather, Jack suggested to Phyllis
that they write a tell-all about Victor's return from the dead. Phyllis
wasn't thrilled with the idea, but Jack stated that he had a right to do it,
given all that Victor's done to him. Sharon entered, just as he railed
against Newman; both she and Phyllis called him out on letting his vendetta
with Victor affect his business and personal life. Later, Sharon suggested
to Phyllis that Phyllis and Nick let Jack buy them out. Phyllis didn't like
that idea. Sharon replied that she was worried about how the infighting
would affect Noah; Phyllis accused her of using Noah as a pawn.... Jack
arranged to sell his stocks so he could buy out the magazine.... Sharon and
Nick went to see Victor and he actually seemed pleased to reunite with them.
Alone, Sharon told Victor about everything that was going on at the
magazine, and how she feared it would hurt Noah. She asked if there was a
way he could help Nick.... Phyllis tried to understand how Victor was
feeling when Nick complained about his father to her. She then suggested
they let Jack buy them out at the magazine since it had gotten so stressful
working there. They found the perfect way to relax: making love.
At the coffeehouse, Jana and Kevin filled in Gloria and Jeffrey on their
honeymoon. Jana enjoyed "roughing it" under the stars, but Kevin didn't have
as good a time. Jeff and Gloria then reminisced about their honeymoon.
Later, Kevin and Gloria whispered at the counter about how she doesn't trust
her husband. Glo taunted Kevin about becoming "mainstream" now that he's
married and no longer scheming. After, Kevin looked at the pictures from
their honeymoon and wondered when he and Jana had gotten so serene. He
compared himself and Jana to a well-known TV couple.... Glo and Jeff
discussed getting control of Jabot. He planned to make himself CEO. After,
Kevin told his mother that he wanted in in taking over Jabot, but Glo
encouraged him to stay out of it.
The news station played a taped message from Victor, as Nick and Phyllis,
Victoria and Nikki, Adam, Jack and Sharon, and J.T. and Neil all watched
from separate locales. In the message, Victor explained that what happened
to him in Mexico was personal and he wanted to keep it that way. He then
revealed that Neil is taking over Newman Enterprises and praised Winters. He
also announced that he was taking a public leave of absence and wanted to be
alone to mourn Sabrina. Off-screen, Victor gathered the entire staff at the
ranch and dismissed all of the servants. He then sat on the floor with
Zapato and sadly watched himself on TV.
Adam approached Jack at Restless Style. "I think you and I have something in
common," Adam stated. "Let's talk."
Tuesday
At the GCAC, Victoria and Nikki watched as Victor's televised announcement
aired, with him asking for his privacy from friends, family and the press.
Victoria became so upset she couldn't watch. She didn't understand how her
father could've thrown her and Nick out of the house; Nikki assured her that
Victor still loved her. Nikki then shared that she tried to reach out to
Victor in Mexico, but he wouldn't let her in. Nikki decided that it was time
for her to buy her own place; Victoria feared her mom was going to
continue to drink. Nikki promised that she's strong enough to stop herself.
Nikki also wanted to move on from Victor, despite still loving him. "I need
to help myself," she explained and added that she's returning to her AA
meetings. Victoria refused to give up on her dad. Nikki flashed back to when
she'd concluded that Victor had killed Walter in Mexico to avenge Sabrina's
death. Later, one of the Newman Ranch servants then arrived at the GCAC and
informed the ladies that Victor had dismissed the entire staff. Nikki
assured the servant that she'd try to reinstate everyone or at least see to
it that all of the workers got new positions.
At Newman, J.T. revealed to Neil that Brad was the person who'd hacked into
the Newman Enterprise files a few months before. Neil called Brad in and
advised him to resign if he didn't want to be arrested. Neil explained that
he drew up a document promising that Brad wouldn't be put in jail if he
voluntarily left the company. Brad agreed to quit; Neil immediately handed
him the document to sign.
In their home, Nick and Phyllis discussed how Victor had put Neil in charge
of Newman Enterprises. Phyllis didn't think Victor would let Neil take
control for very long and suspected that Newman was playing some kind of
game by making the announcement on TV. Nick believed his father was being
serious and planned to honor his wishes to be left alone.
Adam came to see Jack at Restless Style. "I think you and I should join
forces," Adam stated. "So did Daddy fire you?" Jack asked and wondered if
Adam had a plan for revenge. Adam admitted that he didn't, but then buttered
up Jack by praising how smart Jack is. "Admit it, you want my money," Abbott
laughed. "I have no interest in doing business with you." After Adam left,
Sharon arrived at the magazine and reported that Noah was upset about
Victor's statement. Jack didn't think Victor would really stay isolated, but
continued to push his idea of doing a story on Newman. Sharon replied that
Nick wouldn't stand for that. Jack was ready to do battle with Nick over the
magazine. Later, Nick and Phyllis arrived and were furious when they learned
about the article Jack was planning to write. The men exchanged some harsh
words; Nick then suggested that they not leave the room until they'd decided
who got control of Restless Style. Jack didn't think Nick had enough money
to buy out the magazine, but Nick kept insisting that he was in control of
it. Sharon jokingly suggested that they toss a coin and was surprised when
the guys agreed to it. They decided that the winner would buy the loser out
and decide the value of the loser's half of the company; the loser would get
24 hours to decide if he wanted to pay that amount or give up his half. They
agreed to these terms. Sharon urged Jack to back out, but he wanted to take
the chance. He and Sharon came up with a figure, while Nick and Phyllis came
up with theirs. After, Nick flipped the coin and Jack called heads. Sharon
hugged Jack with relief when it landed on heads. Jack presented Nick with
his offer and reminded him that he had 24 hours to decide. At home, Jack was
confident that he'd be the owner of the magazine. Meanwhile, Nick wasn't
sure he'd be able to buy out Jack and was devastated over the idea of losing
the magazine he'd started.
Neil went to see Victor to ask how he was to report about the company.
Victor told him to run Newman however he saw fit. Neil was surprised that
Victor didn't want any input whatsoever. Vic told him that he had one
request.... J.T. joined Victoria and tried to comfort her about her father.
He filled her in on Brad getting kicked out of Newman. Victoria didn't
really care; she was too concerned about the fact that she now didn't have a
job. Later, Neil joined them at the GCAC and asked Vicky if she wanted to
return to Newman. She was shocked, especially when Winters revealed that
Victor's request had been that Neil hire Victoria.
Heather joined Adam at Crimson Lights and asked how things went with Victor.
"The day my mom died was the worse day of my life. This was a close second."
Adam then filled her in on how Victor fired him — and how Nick had warned
him. Adam didn't understand why things went so wrong since he'd been acting
just like he believed Victor would. "I got tossed out of Newman, tossed out
of his life," he sighed. He asked if he could stay with her and was upset
when she said that he could just spend the night. He thought she was
breaking up with him; she explained that she was trying to be realistic
about how long he'd be staying in town. She assured him that she's not
walking away from his relationship. "I slept with you in spite of the fact
that you went to Harvard," she joked. "That only means that Princeton grads
have terrible taste in men," he cracked. They kissed and left the
coffeehouse together.
Nikki went to the ranch to talk to Victor about firing the staff, but he
wouldn't let her in. She peered in the window and demanded that he let her
in, but he still refused. Nikki ignored him and broke the window with a lawn
chair. She tried to reason with him about the staff, but he didn't care.
Victor gave her 30 seconds to leave before he called the cops.
Wednesday
After Nikki forced her way into the Newman Ranch, Victor called a security
person to make sure no one else bothered him. Meanwhile, Victoria told her
mother about how Victor wanted Neil to hire her back at Newman. Nikki
encouraged her daughter to take the job, but Vicky was afraid that it would
hurt Nick if she did so.
Nick was nervous about going to Restless Style and facing Jack, and
inevitably losing the magazine. Phyllis pointed out that even if they lost
the magazine, they could still start a new business — one where they
wouldn't have to deal with Jack and Sharon. Nick quickly jumped to Sharon's
defense, noting that she was just caught in the middle. Phyllis was annoyed
that he was sticking up for Sharon. Michael arrived and handed Nick a
document from Victor. "Is it ticking?" Phyllis cracked. Nick wondered if it
was a restraining order. As Nick opened it, Victoria called. She told him
about the job offer at Newman and Nick encouraged her to take it. After he
hung up, Nick showed Phyllis the document he'd received and declared it a
"miracle." "What does this mean?" Phyll asked.
Meanwhile at the magazine, Jack was all set to start expanding the office
space. Sharon urged him not to gloat when Nick sold him his half of the
publication. "Would I do that?" he asked innocently. Phyllis and Nick
arrived and Jack was surprised to see Nick looking so happy. Jack was
floored when Nick handed him a huge check. "Is this gonna bounce like a fat
man on a trampoline?" Jack asked. Nick then showed him the document, which
was a guaranteed line of credit from Victor. Jack wondered how Nick got
Victor to agree to the price; Nick explained that he'd never actually
contacted his father about it. Jack took the news surprisingly well and
agreed to be out by that evening. When Noah came by for his internship, Nick
told him the news. Sharon explained that Victor helped out Nick. Noah asked
Sharon if she's the one who got Vic to assist him. Sharon explained that
she'd asked Victor if he'd give Nick his job back at Newman and instead,
Victor sent Nick the credit. Noah promised not to tell Jack.... Nick planned
for his first feature to be a tribute to Sabrina, but Phyllis wasn't so sure
that that would sell magazines. Instead she suggested that she do a feature
on someone well-known. Nick was annoyed; Phyllis stated that she's not going
to agree with Nick if she has a different opinion.
Michael went to see Victor and was surprised he had to go through security
first. Victor then informed him that if any of his children wished to speak
to him, they were to do so through Michael. He added that Michael had no
obligation to Adam.... J.T. came home and was thrilled when Victoria shared
that she'd accepted the job. He promised to look out for Victor for her.
Heather gave Adam a massage in bed and tried to calm him as he worried about
his job situation. He half-jokingly mentioned a fast-food joint where he
could possibly work. He then considered going to New York, but Heather
wasn't eager to be involved in a long-distance relationship. She reminded
him that she has a job and couldn't just leave town. Adam replied that she
was the only reason he had for staying in Genoa City. She suggested he try
talking to Victor again, but he didn't think any good would come of it.
Later, Adam went to the Ranch and Michael helped him get past security.
Michael then led Adam into the darkened house, where Victor was behind a
locked door. Michael asked Victor if Adam could speak with him, but they
were met by silence. Adam began to yell and pound on the door, and was
escorted out by the guard. Once he left, Victor told Michael to never let
Adam inside again. Michael asked Victor what he should tell Vic's family
members when they asked about him, but Michael was again met by silence....
Heather met with Paul and questioned him about Victor's disappearance in
Mexico. She was interested in getting to the bottom of what had happened to
Newman over there.... Nikki ran into Jack at Crimson Lights. He opinionated
that Victor was losing it, needed psychiatric care and should have his
assets frozen. Nikki believed he was saying this just because he was angry
over Nick getting the magazine. Jack warned Nikki that his battle with
Victor wasn't over. "Your ex has a closet full of skeletons, several of
which, unless I miss my guess, are now wearing sombreros and swilling
tequila in some quaint little town," he snarked and vowed to dig up what
Victor had been up to south of the border.
Jack later went to see Adam, who was packing up for New York. Jack invited
Adam to help him bring down Victor. Adam agreed to join forces.... Paul
warned Nikki that people were starting to ask questions about Victor in
Mexico. She then called Victor to warn him that Jack was out for blood, but
he wouldn't pick up the phone. He just paced around in his dark home and
stared at a drawing of Sabrina.
Thursday
At Crimson Lights, Daniel showed Colleen his work for his upcoming art show.
She offered to help him out, but he hesitated. Amber then arrived and he
became distracted. Amber told Kevin and Jana that she was planning to attend
Daniel's opening with Liam. Kevin thought she was lying about Liam and joked
that the name reminded him a certain mythological creature. Amber tried to
prove he was real by calling him, but couldn't get through. Daniel then came
over to say hello and asked Amber if she was bringing Liam. She replied that
she was. Colleen joined them and was cold toward Amber, and made a show of
kissing Daniel. When he stepped away, Amber warned her that Daniel was just
on the rebound. Later, Daniel and Kevin played basketball, and Kevin tried
to get his pal to talk about Amber and Colleen. Meanwhile, Jana warned
Colleen to be careful with Daniel, but Colleen got defensive about how she's
the right person for him. After, Amber and Colleen exchanged words; Coll was
surprised to hear that Amber was attending Daniel's opening.... On the
court, Daniel admitted to Kevin that he couldn't get Amber out of his head.
Kevin urged him not to string Colleen along.... Jana asked Amber if she
really cared for Liam. Amber admitted that she'd drop Liam in a second if
Daniel were willing to be with her again.... Colleen confronted Daniel about
inviting Amber to the opening when he hadn't invited her. Daniel confessed
that he's not over Amber.
Jack called Adam and explained that it would take careful planning to exact
their revenge on Victor. After, Gloria told Jack her plans to get back
Jabot. They agreed that they both wanted Jabot back in John's family. Jack
stated that she'd need to get Katherine's stocks; Glo replied that she'd
already set up a meeting with Kay. After, Jeffrey questioned Gloria about
her Jabot plans and wondered if she was deliberately leaving him out of a
scheme.
At the GCAC, Jill warned Brad that she had a ton of dirt on Brad's
activities. Meanwhile, agents from the SEC arrived to investigate Jabot for
shady activities connected to David Chow. After, Cane suggested to Jill that
they issue a formal statement and say that she's going to step down from the
company. She refused and was furious with him for suggesting it. She noted
that she didn't do anything wrong, but Cane feared that the scandal would
spread to Chancellor.
Kay was about to head out when Gloria arrived at the Chancellor Estate. She
told Kay how she'd had a dream where John encouraged her to talk to
Katherine about Kay giving Glo some shares of Jabot. Kay told her to see her
stockbroker. Gloria explained that she wanted shares that were once owned by
John. Kay refused.... Jack was upset as he read about Jabot's stock falling.
He was visited by John's ghost. Jack told his dad that he feels like the
ground was yanked out from under him with John and Jabot gone, but he keeps
trying to move on with his life. "Jabot was home, Dad," he sighed. Jack
didn't know why he was considering taking part in Gloria's scheme. "Don't
ask me to trust her," he told Ghost Dad. John encouraged him not to
underestimate her. "Be happy I'm as nice to her as I am," Jack said. John
argued that Gloria wanted to make it a family business again. "You make me
proud because I know that's what you want," John answered. Jeff then arrived
and asked if they could discuss Jabot. He wanted to team up with Jack, and
keep Gloria out of it. Jack informed him that he and Glo had had the same
conversation. Gloria returned to the Abbott manse just as the guys were in
the middle of their talk. Jeff was annoyed that she'd met with Jack and Kay
on the sly, and warned that he'd have her followed. Glo threatened to
"punish" him, but her warning was flirtatious. Jack was disgusted by their
odd version of foreplay. "My instincts are telling me, 'Run, Jack,' " he
said, "and not get involved with these two lunatics." Gloria lied that she
was successful in getting Kay's shares.
Jill reluctantly agreed to step down from Jabot. Kay arrived at Jabot and
was surprised to hear about her daughter's decision. "I did what had to be
done," Cane explained to his grandmother. Kay agreed that that was the best
move. Meanwhile, Jill told Heather that she'd been protecting Brad. She
asked Heather to get the SEC off her back and she'd give her the details on
Brad's involvement with Chow. "We're going to have to call in the FBI,"
noted Heather. "Do what you have to do," Jill replied.
Friday
At the Chancellor estate, Kay sensed Chloe's irritability, but she wondered why
Chloe was acting this way since she got exactly what she wants. Chloe admitted she's having a
tough time being happy because it's obvious that Cane hates her. Kay
suggested Chloe divorce him, stay at the house and raise her baby alone.
Then she warned Chloe to stop dumping her troubles on everyone else. "Make
it work!" she snapped, a la Tim Gunn. After placing an urgent call to get
the S.E.C. off of Jill's back, Kay caught up with Amber, who broke down in
tears. She vaguely explained her situation with Daniel and asked Kay for
advice. Kay advised Amber to stop trying to make Daniel jealous and just
tell him the truth.
Over coffee at Crimson Lights, Lily told Cane she thinks there's still hope
for them if he divorces Chloe, then noted that she's not surprised that
Chloe weaseled her way into the mansion. Cane suggested they hang out
together again, but Lily was apprehensive. They clutched hands just as Chloe
walked in, "Oh, cheating on me already?" she sneered. They assured her that
they're just friends, but Chloe wasn't buying it. She stormed off in a huff
and returned to the mansion with a scruffy rocker dude named Rocco in tow.
She introduced her new "boyfriend" to Kay, claiming that she and Cane
agreed to an open marriage. Then, Cane entered and tangled with Rocco. The
bickering ended when Kay demanded Cane fetch Lily and the four of them sort
things out together immediately.
At Crimson Lights, Michael broke the news to Kevin that he set up a meeting
with the S.E.C. to discuss Kevin's relationship with David Chow. Jana came
over to show Michael her wedding pictures. He bristled when he came across a
picture of himself with River. Jana said it was destiny that brought Michael
back to his father. Michael revealed he'd already contacted the ashram and
River had disappeared.
Heather introduced an FBI agent to Jill, who explained she's under
investigation by the S.E.C, but that she has proof of Brad's involvement in
Chow's death. She presented him with wire transfers between the two men and
asked agent Miller to inform the S.E.C. that she's working with him; he
didn't say anything and quickly departed with the papers in tow.
Daniel and Colleen commiserated over their failed romances with Amber and
Adrian, admitting it's been more difficult to get over them than they
thought. Colleen surmised that Amber won't show up to Daniel's opening out
of embarrassment and wondered if she could take Amber's place. Daniel said
it would be awkward for Coll since most of his art is of (or about) Amber.
They parted ways. Later, Amber confronted Daniel and, with her heart on her
sleeve, finally admitted that she's having a hard time letting him go.
Daniel said he's not sure he can trust her again, but also admitted the
same. They agreed to start with a clean slate if they were to reconcile.
Then, they leaned in for a kiss.
Michael and Kevin met with the guy from the S.E.C. and when he was asked
about Kevin's missing computer records, the brothers spun a story about a
virus. Kevin flashed back to Michael destroying his hard drive. After, they
returned to the coffee shop, gloating about their stellar performances and
told Jana they have nothing to worry about. Then, Michael resolved to stop
fretting over losing a father he never even knew. He later returned home and
answered a knock at the door — it was River.
Back at Crimson, Lily gave Colleen permission to pursue Daniel, warning her
pal that he can be a real bad boy. Coll pointed out all the good qualities
she finds in Daniel and admitted that they've been spending a lot of time
together. She asked Lily to accompany her to NYC to see Daniel's show, even
though Daniel advised her not to go in the first place. Later, Jana and
Kevin were surprised when Coll informed them that Daniel is over Amber and
is hopeful that she might have a relationship with him next.
At GCAC, Brad had a business meeting with Mr. Gambas and Mr. Rojas, saying
he's ready to make Caracas his new home. Then, Agent Miller showed up and
confronted Brad with the wire transfer papers, asking if he knew anything
about them. Brad denied any wrongdoing, saying he's never heard of Walter
Palin. Agent Miller arrested Brad anyway.
Back at the estate, Heather called Jill with the news of Brad's arrest. Lily
arrived (Cane caught her up on the Rocco situation) and Kay sat everyone
down, adding that nobody is leaving the house until they've sorted out their
troubled relationships.
