One of the most beloved, funniest and most talented actors on DAYS is also one of the most unassuming and genuine people you will ever meet. I had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Northrop at Deidre Hall's fan event in April 2006. He came around to the tables after brunch and started with our table to his left, he announced, because he's left-handed! (So are my friend and I, who had traveled to LA to see him.)

I had written and sent a poem to Deidre and Wayne about their amazing chemistry, just after he returned as Alex back in September, 2005. Since I had not heard anything back, I brought new framed copies for each of them. Wayne looked at it and exclaimed, "Oh! I have this! I love this poem! I set it aside to thank you but never got around to it." He looked at me and asked, "YOU wrote this?" We talked briefly and then when he moved on he shook my hand and said, "I am so glad to have met you." I would love to be able to thank him for being the kind of celebrity, who, when you meet him, you are not disappointed!

Chemistry Lesson

Written For Deidre Hall and Wayne Northrop

On-screen chemistry – hard to achieve
And more difficult still to explain.
But it’s easy to see, and for fans to believe
When the actors are Deidre and Wayne.

Not since Tracy and Hepburn appeared on the screen
Has there been a connection like this.
From their first days of arguing, scene after scene,
To the time when they shared their first kiss.

Their comfort and ease, the way they connect,
Has remained over time with these two.
It seems that their friendship and sense of respect
Is part of their chemistry, too.

Who else could portray an evil M.D.
And have fans wanting Alex to stay?
Marlena is drawn to him, and so are we.
It’s that magical bond they portray.

The lesson is clear; there’s no lingering doubt.
Solved is the mystery.
Their elusive trait is what acting’s about —
Dee and Wayne’s chemistry!

Fans of GH's Logan sent airmail from Canada. Laura of Toronto wrote: "With a little love and attention, these seeds will grow. That's what Logan's fans want for him." She included a packet of seeds for planting Baby Blue Eyes wildflowers... Team "Jasam" fans are making their presence known with star-themed cards and notes in praise of GH's Jason and Sam. Carol from Emporia, VA also wants a personal appearance featuring Kelly Monaco's Sam and Steve Burton's Jason.... ATWT "Carjackers" want Jack and Carly to find their way back to each other and are not liking the way Holden has been siding with Carly over Jack. Judy from Grand Rapids, MI included miniature compasses. She wrote: "We have launched the Find True North campaign. We're not going to sit quietly and watch our favorite characters destroyed, as well as our favorite couple. We've been patient, but enough is enough." There was also protest against "Lack" (Jack and Lily) and "Colden" (Carly and Holden).... AMC's Jesse and Angie got love from sweetestgoodbyes.org - a fan site devoted to the ABC daytime lineup. "Debbi Morgan (Angie) and Darnell Williams (Jesse) are beautiful together!" enthused P.T. from San Antonio, TX.... You Are Home To Me The Ultimate Lumi Forum (www.marylinalumi.net) wrote in to support DAYS's Lucas, Sami, Will, Johnny and Allie.... Carolyn of DeSoto, TX begged for more of Y&R's Cane and Lily and praising, "The writing for Cane and Lily has been great and I hope that it will continue. Thanks for bringing classic romance back to the show."
