Cecily (Rosa Nevin) and Nico (Maurice Benard)
— ABC

Hot Plots: AMC's Top Summer Storylines

1989: First Comes Marriage, Then Comes Love For Nico And Cecily
Cecily (Rosa Nevin) and Nico (Maurice Benard) were platonic pals who tied the knot so she could get her hands on her trust fund - just a simple business arrangement. But sure enough, it didn't take long for the charming couple to begin trading longing looks.

Edmund (John Callahan) and Maria's (Eva La Rue)
— Ann Limongello/ABC

1996: Kelsey Fights For Sam
Edmund (John Callahan) and Maria's (Eva La Rue) dreams of having a family came true when Kelsey (T.C. Warner) agreed to let them adopt her newborn son, Sam. But then Kelsey had a change of heart, setting the stage for a heart-tugging battle over the little boy. (In the end, Kelsey decided that Sam would be better off with the Greys.)

Natalie (Kate Collins)
— ABC

1991: All's Well That Ends Well For Natalie
One of AMC's wackiest and most-memorable criminals - the now-reformed Janet (Kate Collins) — entered the Pine Valley scene and studied, a little too carefully, the mannerisms of her identical twin, Natalie. Show buffs know how this one turned out: Janet shoved Natalie down a well so she could assume Nat's identity (and, more importantly, marry Nat's fella, Trevor).

Dixie (Cady McClain) and Tad (Michael E. Knight)
— Ann Limongello/ABC

1998: The Heart Of Dixie
There are those who think that Tad is just not Tad without Dixie. And those viewers got a special thrill when Cady McClain returned to the role of Tad's erstwhile wife. Their emotional reunion, in the wake of the explosion at Holiday's that killed Tad's new gal pal, Camille, set the stage for the Tad/Dixie remarriage that was to be their last, as she was presumed dead in 2002.

Julia (Sydney Penny) and Noah (Keith Hamilton Cobb)
— Ann Limongello/ABC

1995: Love Is On The Air
If ever there was a summer of love, this was it, for this season saw the Noah (Keith Hamilton Cobb)/Julia (Sydney Penny) and Hayley (Kelly Ripa)/Mateo (Mark Consuelos) romances kick into high gear. Both charming couples subsequently tied the knot.
