The Many Loves of AMC's Tad the Cad— By Joe Diliberto Liza Colby (Marcy Walker): Rich girl Liza was just a teen (but already quite a schemer) when bad-boy Tad caught her eye. Liza had been swooning for Greg Nelson, who was in love with Tad's sister Jenny. Tad eventually won over Liza, but when he two-timed her with her own mother, Liza left town. Later, while going through a tough time with wife Dixie in 1996, Tad slept with the newly returned Liza, which compelled Dixie to divorce him.
Marian Colby (Jennifer Bassey): Tad met Marian while working at The Glamorama, and secretly carried on an affair with her at the same time he was romancing her teenage daughter, Liza. When Liza flipped out, Tad broke it off with Marian. Recalling the good ol' days, Marian recently reappeared in the cad's bed -- but it was all a joke.
Dottie Thornton (Tasia Valenza): What's love got to do with it? Absolutely nothing -- Tad dated lovesick Dottie in 1984 because her mother paid him handsomely to do it. Later, Tad was compelled to marry her; again, not out of love (he was in love with Hillary), but because she purposely became pregnant with his child. She later miscarried, and they divorced.
Hillary Wilson (Carmen Thomas): Tad got locked in a bank vault on the day he was supposed to marry Hillary, so they ended up tying the knot not in a church, but at the Wallingford mansion in 1986. Hillary should have kept Tad in a vault, because his con-artist ways destroyed their marriage. Barbara Montgomery (Susan Pratt): Tad had a brief dalliance with her in 1988.
Dixie Cooney (Cady McClain): When Dixie's husband, Adam, tried to have her committed to an asylum, Tad rode to her rescue, swept her off her feet and down the aisle (for the first time) in 1989. Ceremonies followed in 1994 and 1999.
