ALL MY CHILDREN Interviews

Jill Larson On The Big Screen

— By Gabrielle Winkel

Jill Larson
Jill Larson (Opal, AMC)
— ABC

Jill Larson (Opal, AMC) can currently be seen in not one, but two, motion pictures. "This is the most amazing sort of moment in my life because I was in another movie that opened on Wednesday (11/19) night. So I have two films opening in New York within three days," Larson beams.

The first film was A Living Wake. I play Alma, the mother of a boy who is told that he is dying of a rare vague disease that is rarely vague as it is vaguely rare. She is very disapproving, judgemental and sort of nasty."

Larson describes the second film — Were The World Mine — "as a gay musical fantasy about a young boy who is in a prep school and is cast as Puck in A Midsummer's Night Dream. It's a fantasy about what would life be if you could make anyone you wanted to fall in love with you. He finds the magic potion and suddenly this little homophobic town for one enchanted night everyone is gay. They all fall in love with people of their own gender."

That includes Larson's character. "I am the very homophobic wife of the headmaster of the school. Nora is a wonderful silly character and she endss up of course falling in love the gay boys mother." The cast includes Judy McLane and Zelda Williams (Robin's daughter).

The movie was reviewed in the Nov. 21 New York Times. Check out the review and the movies at http://movies.nytimes.com/2008/11/21/movies/21were.html.
