The Great Cover-Ups

— By Mara Levinsky

Recently on AMC, Randi accepted help from her father-in-law, Chief of Police Jesse, in covering up the death of D.A. Henry North, as she believes she's responsible for the dirty deed. Here are five other instances of Pine Valley denizens covering up untimely deaths (or, in one instance, a "death").

1988

James Mitchell and Kate Collins
Palmer (James Mitchell enjoyed the power he had over Natalie (Kate Collins when he helped her get rid of Silver's corpse.
— ABC

Natalie shot Jeremy's possessive girlfriend, Silver, in self-defense inside Cortlandt Manor. Palmer, Nat's then-hubby, helped her dump Silver's body in a nearby pond. When the body was discovered, Nat nearly went to prison, but it turned out that Palmer had a tape that proved her claim of self-defense.

1993

Walt Willey, Felicity La Fortune and Kim Hunter
Jack (Walt Willey helped Laurel (Felicity La Fortune) conceal Denny's death. Also pictured: Kim Hunter (ex-Faye)
— ABC

Laurel killed her abusive ex-husband, Denny, in self-defense. Jack helped her dispose of the body and an eyewitness ultimately stepped forward to help clear Laurel's name.

1996

Gina Gallagher
Erica thought she killed Michael (Michael Sabatino) protecting Bianca (Gina Gallagher).
— ABC

Dirty doc Michael Kinder died falling down the stairs at Erica's as she tried to thwart his attempt to kidnap her daughter Bianca. Erica, Skye and Janet buried the body in a shallow grave. Just one catch: He wasn't actually dead! He dug his way out of the grave and made his way to the Caribbean, where the ladies caught up to him and helped to bring him to justice.

2000

Robin Mattson Cecilia DeWolff
Trevor finished the job Janet (Robin Mattson) started after Janet finished off Sophie (Cecilia DeWolff).
— ABC

Janet was being blackmailed by her former cellmate, Sophie. Sophie's demands became more and more outrageous, and one day, a violent confrontation broke out between the women in an alley. Janet ended up killing Sophie with the very weapon Sophie had intended to use to kill her. Janet's husband, Trevor, arrived on the scene as she was trying to clean up the scene and commanded Janet to flee. He was in the process of disposing of the body when Police Chief Derek arrived. Thinking fast, Trevor decided to take the fall for his beloved.

2003

Cameron Mathison
Michael (William de Vry) met a cold end.
— ABC

Bianca shot her rapist, Michael, dead in self-defense, then blocked out the crime. Seemingly half the town snapped to action to conceal the corpse, which was ultimately discovered in a meat locker.
